I have taken my wife s CR-V here several times and we are always pleased. They are very friendly and very honest.For example, we needed our AC completely repaired. We called several places and most were north of $2400. We called him and he quoted us considerable cheaper (in the $1500 range I think) and then when he actually did it, he charged us even less than he quoted. How many mechanics out there are that honest?!?!?He has always been great about getting our vehicles seen in a timely fashion and his prices are always reasonable. Make sure to check them out.

I have a friend who recently had his truck serviced here, I've had to talk him through a couple issues that were caused by laziness and ignorance by the shop.He needed a rear end rebuild/replacement after it just kinda fell apart and seized on the highway, he brought it to Swant. They did the work, installed a fully used rear end with some machine work, and the truck worked.The first issue he had was that one of the rear axle shaft seals were not very good. To their credit they did the work to fix that issue and mostly made it right. It was overlooked but things happen I guess.The reason for the one star review is because of the brake line issue. On the rear end they incorrectly routed the brake line which caused the brake line to be FULLY SHEARED. You can visually see that a reasonable amount of movement of the rear suspension would cause the brake line to be sheared before it would have even been installed. If he didn't catch this when he did how he did, it very easily could have ended in a fatal accident.

Made an appt for Friday at noon, when I walked in the guy working the counter called me a guy's name...odd. He asked for my keys and said that because my car had a push button start that it was going to cost $100 more and that it couldn't be done that day because it would take longer. The guy came off as rude and didn't really reschedule with me, just left a VM on my phone telling me to bring it in ASAP, so I ended up finding business elsewhere.

A Great Local Auto Mechanic Shop to get your work done. The Owner and all the Mechanic's are very Friendly. They treat your vehicle likes it they're own. Getting the work done sooner than expected. Definitely recommend to stop in and see for yourself.

The people were very friendly. I came from Duluth for an interview in the town, and my front passenger axle was going out, I brought it to them late in the day on Friday and they still brought me in to try and fix it, they worked on fixing it for 30-45 minutes, but no one had the parts in town. So they fixed it up a little bit as best they could and apologized profusely. They didn't even charge me labor or anything. Thanks to them I was able to get the 90 miles home. I would definitely recommend them.

Used them twice for towing a vehicle recently. Good service, well equipped, and work in a timely manner. Call them if you re in need and they will take it from there.

My older jeep broke down on 4th of July weekend on a Friday and I lived 120 miles away and was delivering a kid to camp and going home. The Chrysler dealer could not schedule me until the following Wednesday, which would mean that my wife would have to come get me and we'd have to make another trip for the car. The tow driver suggested Swant. It is a small shop. The owner said he would fit it in for me.He lent me a car to drop off my kid, then correctly diagnosed the starting issue as a sensor on the oil pump shaft. He could not get a new part ($300) quickly because it would have to come from St. Paul, but found a replacement at a local junkyard. He stayed an hour after close to finish in some pretty brutal heat, then charged me less than the cost of the new part for labor and the used part. Best news, the old jeep ran better than ever. This is the local shop to go to if you're in Rice Lake.

The place is friendly and the people are easy to talk to and they do a really good job fixing vehicles and selling vehicles. Mr. Greg Swant took care of the problems with my car and I have no regrets about it!
