Phenomenal service. Katie and crew are awesome and get to the vehicle on appointment day unlike others in the area. Never pushing work that s not needed, friendly staff, and repairs done right the first time. Always go above and beyond expectations which is appreciated. The follow-up messages are nice as well to verify vehicle is running great after the repairs.

I recently got my car fixed at J & R Auto right before Christmas. I dropped my car off on a Thursday and it was ready for me by Monday morning. They were able to get my car fixed quickly and a at a reasonable price. Also the receptionists were friendly and got back to me right away. I would definitely take my car here again.

Is it possible to LOVE a place to go to service your car? I say it is - the folks at J&R are simply the best. They are always so incredibly nice, very accommodating for critical timing, very thorough and super honest in their recommendations on how to fix the problem or what you need. They're the BEST!

Very very very friendly service, very quick scheduling, good quality work, and they re not at all pushy like some shops can be. I like that they will text when the work is done or if something comes up, and the next day or two they ll reach out to verify everything s running smooth with the vehicle.

Have been taking my vehicles here for years and they always do a good job. They are always friendly and honest about the work that needs to be done. Prices are very reasonable. SkeezyGirlfriend went here. She asked them to check her car for some issues, not repair it. It took a day of leaving the car there, without estimate of how long they would need to hold on to it for, then they charged her $265 for repairing something on her car without first asking for consent on the repairs. WI law states that a notice must be given to a customer for any repair bill over $50. To avoid this, they charged her $35 for the repair, charged her $40 to check the lights, then $175 for checking. No info upfront for anything but the lights.Tldr: i would trust them about as far as i could throw them

They fixed my daughter's flat tire. That was great! They broke her drivers side door handle while working on the car. Not it WAS broken. They broke it but didn't take responsibility for it. They offered to fix it for $200. The door handle that they broke... she declined and I fixed it. Cost? Nothing. It was an easy fix. Just a little time. Charging $200 to fix what they broke in their shop? Seems like a bad business practice!

Fantastic place to get your car serviced! I have a VW Jetta TDI. The TDI part means it's a turbo diesel motor. I don't know much about diesel motors and was not comfortable changing the oil on it. The first several places I called for a quote where going to charge me over $100 just to change my oil! I decided to go with J&R Automotive because the only charged me $85 for an oil change and it was within walking distance from my house.

We ve always gotten great service at J&R. Whether I m talking to Katie, Brad or one of the techs from the shop I always get straight answers and no surprises. If they run across something unexpected they ll always point it out and give me options on how it can be addressed. They ve never pressured us into any additional repairs. Good people providing great service at a fair price. I have taken my car to J&R to have work done several times. Every time it's completed in a timely manner (sometimes faster than anticipated!), and they always call to verify everything they're going to do, and let you know if they see anything else that might need attention, but are not at all pushy. The ladies at the front desk are pleasant and helpful, and the shop employees are excellent at their jobs. They do a great job every time I'm there. Always explain whats going on with the vehicle and what it needs. I feel they genuinely care about me as a customer and my safety as a driver. Fair and reliable business that I have used for over 35 years. Friendly staff that go out of their way to accommodate me when an unexpected matter comes up with regard to the performance of my vehicle. I have close to 300,000 miles on my SUV and J&R has been along for the ride all the way. Common sense folks with an honest attitude. I can't ask for a better group of folks to assist me.Once again J&R came through installing a new starter for the SUV, now approaching 296,000 miles. Repair was a bit more expensive than I expected, but the guarantee and reliability behind the product and the service was worth every penny. I am always confident that when I drive out of J&R's parking lot the problem has been fixed. There is no better place to go if you want your vehicle repaired right.

I have taken both of my vehicles to J&R for repairs and cannot say enough good things about them. They do their best to schedule appointments as soon as possible, stay in touch with what they find, provide estimates and options that are fair and reasonable and they do quality work. They truly care about their customers and it shows. J&R services all of my vehicles (8) and they range from a 2013 to a 1919 model t. From changing the oil to rebuilding the engine or transmission. Their very fair and very good at what they do! Have utilized J & R 3 times in the past year for my college-age son's car. I'm from out of state and chose J & R solely based on their excellent reviews. They have been extremely helpful and very responsive to our needs, even supplying towing when necessary. They are informative and thorough. I never felt taken advantage of as an out of state consumer dealing with over the phone business. As a parent, I worry about auto repairs with a college student. But I felt J & R were honest and provided quality, timely service on an older model vehicle. Hopefully the vehicle is now in better condition and we won't need repairs anytime soon. My husband and I have both had great experiences here with our vehicles. They were able to immediately fix a whirring sound in my car (it needed tire balancing) while the place I went to prior charged me $90 to do absolutely nothing, saying they "couldn't find the cause of the noise".

$375 for an oil change and to put on brakes and rotors on the rear that I had already bought. After arguing with the owner I found out he charged me $80 cause I brought my own parts in So because he didn t make any money ordering parts offline he had to make up for it on labor That information what have been nice to know.

I would definitely recommend J & R Auto Service in Oshkosh. Living in Illinois and having a college-aged driver with a vehicle in Wisconsin, we have used their services for a few auto emergencies. They have been extremely helpful, efficient, affordable and always quick to respond. I have appreciated having a reliable mechanic to direct my son to whenever his late model vehichle has unexpected issues, or simply needs an oil change or routine maintenance. Brought my Chrysler 200 in because I was hearing noises from the front tires and after tires plus told me I needed to have my struts replaced and that my wheel bearings were fine I had an appointment with J&R the next day, needless to say my wheel bearings were bad and my struts and shocks were fine and J&R found the true problem and fixed it within 24hrs with an unbeatable price that you won t find anywhere else. AMAZING staff and AMAZING work. I m highly satisfied and recommend any and everyone to go here for all your automotive needs, I will never go anywhere else but here from now on. Thank you so much you guys I can t say it enough!

J&R was excellent during my entire experience. Understanding, friendly, honest and reasonably priced. Katie up front helped me with everything I needed and even checked in after the work was done to make sure my car was running well. I haven t experienced customer service like J&R s at any other shop in my life. I highly recommend this place and won t be taking my car anywhere else so long as I live in Oshkosh.Service: General repairs & maintenance
