Jake was super friendly and offered an even earlier appointment time than I had requested. Knew my name when I walked in the door. The inspection and sending it in a text giving the customer the option of what work to do on what findings from the inspection is awesome. Especially for those of us that are tight financially and can't quite cut a bunch of work all at once, it's nice to have an idea of what attention is needed. Mitch did a great job on the brakes. She drives like a dream now. Thanks Fred's staff!

Fred's was great to deal with. Communication was a strong point. Both Bart and Brandon let me know my options before any work was done. If I need work done on my vehicle, Fred's is the place I will take it!

Thank you simply is not enough. My car was metal on metal when I called them. They got me in right away, gave constant updates and were so kind. All in all they fixed brakes, rotors, pads, and more the same day. The amount was less than quoted. They did not do unnecessary work or push any upgrades etc. Highly recommend.

My daughter can't say enough good about these guys! They worked with her on the price because the extended warrenty didn't cover nothing. So I want to thank them for all that they do and did. I highly recommend them

I always get prompt, courteous service from Fred's! They always inform me of costs and ask approval before doing the work, and they have never recommend unnecessary work to make an extra buck. My car runs like a dream because of these guys. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Helped with my SUV twice. Both times they worked hard to get me back on the road and I was even offered a loaner car when things took a bit. The first time they missed something and then fixed it for free. The second was a bit more expensive than estimated but they worked with me to have lower cost materials and extra labor time wasn't added.

Very good service worked with agency that helped pay for my repairs. I have cancer and use my truck to get to treatment it needed quite a few but got the necessary to be able to get to care.

Even though I got bad news, they were wonderful and respectful in the midst of all the chaos. I appreciate the time and effort that they put into my situation. Everything was resolved as best possible. Have and will continue to refer them to my friends and bring them my business.

These guys are great, total auto care service, use photos, video to display problems they discover. Repairs? Great timely service, same price quote! Willing and able to fix anything they break during repairs! Talk about accountability!!!

While putting on his winter wheels and tires, my son, a student at UWL, noticed that the sway bar end link was broken on his car. I suggested Fred's and to make an appointment asap so not to drive much on the tires if alignment was affected. We had the front struts replaced 3 years ago and I told him to get new end links for both sides and an alignment. They stated that the springs on both struts were broken and they would not do an alignment unless they replaced both struts. This would have been combined a $1300 total ( rounded down). We decided to just have them replace the end links, which is about $15 per part and 1/2 hour per side maximum. We were charged $313. I'm all for small mechanic shops, but figured $180-220 would have been very realistic. My son brought the car home at break. I had already purchased replacement struts ($145 each) taking the word of the shop on broken springs (though really, when is the last time you've seen any auto spring break, much less two?). My son and I replaced both struts in about two hours total. Our local shop in Reedburg did the alignment for $78, Fred's quoted $116. In addition neither spring on the struts that Fred's claimed were broken, actually were. Despite the high ratings, sort folks, this was one of the biggest scam jobs that I've ever been involved with. Claiming something is broken when it absolutely is not is simply unethical in every way and a sign of what to they tell unknowing people. At the very least, if at all possible, get a second opinion before going through this shop. I would love to be giving a great review, but not a chance. A zero star is actually what is deserved. Pictures are of one intact strut and one where I removed the entire spring for inspection. Each are as good as when they were installed.In reply to Fred's response to my review: If you have photos of the broken springs (broken shocks were not mentioned, nor were they broken other than the rubber shock covers had torn) then why didn't you send those with the emailed estimate or heck, post them on here? I'll gladly post many more pictures of them from any angle. I had my buddy, a former gm mechanic and current service representative of 15 years stop over. Needless to say he just shook his head.I use locally owned shops as much as I can, and having lived in lacrosse for 10 years, I've used a few. I'm all for paying a slightly higher price to keep family owned places going. I've got mechanics in my own family and understand the struggle. However over pricings are also harming the customers family, and most certainly inaccurate assessments are a no go. Certainly sometimes an issue can be difficult to diagnose. In this case it wasn't. I most definitely wouldn't be writing this review and wasting my time otherwise.

Had an alignment performed and was very satisfied with the whole experience. They were 100% honest with everything, and despite having an older vehicle they did their best to get it going straight. I will be coming back for any future repairs.

Don't bother. They do not respond to messages.Update - For clarity, I used their website to request a quote for an alignment. I entered all the data requested and selected submit.......and never received a response. I suggest you call them directly.

I give them 3 stars purely because they did a good job on the exterior detailing. The interior detailing though, was not so great. They did not do a good job wiping down the interior. They did vacuum/shampoo the cab, but completely missed the trunk. They left their detailing supplies in the trunk, as if they had stopped mid-project. In retrospect, I paid $200 for an Exterior Detail, when I had asked for both Exterior and Interior Detailing. I guess they wanted me to have some of the tools to do it myself though.

These guys are seriously great, really honest and communicate very well! They won't do work that doesn't need to be done, so check them out if you go to one of the other shady mechanics in the area... They'll give you an honest 2nd opinion!

I put myself in a bad position with having a breathalyzer installed in my truck. The staff were nothing short of amazing. Brandon, Jake, all of them. Cheerleaders and professionals. I may have had to go there for a negative reason, but this will always be the first place I take my truck. Thanks guys, for understanding

Had the Oil changed, and rotation of the tires. Reasonable amount of time in doing so.The only place we take our vehicles. They always told me whats wrong. Never any extras or surprises!

I highly recommend this business. I have had my vehicles serviced here for several years. They are straight forward and have never steered me wrong. The team at Fred's were incredibly thorough in their diagnostic of my vehicle. I'd been to another shop in town 3 times within the month prior and they either didn't notice all the issues Fred's team noted (and provided photo evidence of the issues) or they simply chose not to tell me.Either way, the team here has earned my continuing business with their transparency, honesty, and incredibly convenient online portal.As a side note to those that can relate, at no point did I feel talked down which should be a given but in 2023 is still worth noting.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle safety inspection

had all new tires put on and my car aligned. the guys at fred's are easy to work with. easy going and is a laid back environment but professional. reasonably priced. very satisfied and would highly recommend.

Left front brake is squeaking badly, mainly when backing up. I explained that I wanted that one brake troubleshot. Instead got full brake inspection, even though all brakes had been serviced within a year. Was told that I had plenty of life left in the pads. Was told that the left front brake had a loose bolt. Was told that my front axle was throwing grease, even though my car only has 40,000 miles on it. 1000 dollar repair. I declined. Blade edge of my rear window wiper was hanging by the middle half inch. It was not that way when I brought the car in. It was mentioned that I needed a new rear wiper blade. Well now I certainly do! This is my first time using Fred s. It is also my last time. Brake squeak is just as bad as before! Charged $33 for this??!Service: Brakes

This is actually long overdue! I had my car detailed at Fred's. My car had residue from the exterior of my home being painted earlier in the summer. And it also had some scuff marks from bringing it to a car wash that touched the car. Fred's had a great rate compared to when I called a few others. Everyone was so kind. When I picked my car up, it looked brand new inside and out! I highly recommend having any of your vehicles detailed here!!
