Great place to visit! Drive down is windy and narrow, but not dangerous. Half paved, half of it gravel, if your car is really low profile or super large I might not do it (no RVs for sure), but we were quite comfortable driving down in a Subaru Forester. The Google maps directions are pretty accurate in terms of how long it takes, less than a half hour from the visitor center. Some portions are one lane, and you might need to back up or pull off into one of the pulloffs if another car comes. We went at 9am on a Saturday and didn't run into anyone on the way down or up, super easy. Worth it!

Great area to check out with a lot of historical significance. This is the parking lot, it's a lot farther out than you might think but keep driving and you'll see the signs and a larger area to park off to the right. Just keep it slow since there's not much space on the road for two cars.

As of 10/1/21, there is no access to the lot for vehicles. You can't get much further by car than Winona. I talked to an employee at the New River Gorge National Park Visitor's Center and he told me they are working on it and it won't be open for quite a while. As of this date, the only access to Nuttallburg is via the Headhouse Trail accessible from Beauty Mountain Road.

Great hiking. Half the adventure is the drive down
