Very few issues with this stay. For $85 dollars I was very happy with the quality of this hotel.Cons : Hotel is advertised as a smoke free hotel but our room smelt of stale cigarettes.Pros : Clean and visually pleasing room. Our bathroom had this cool 70s shower and I loved it. Away from town so we didn t hear cars all night. The breakfast was more than I thought they d have for how small the hotel is. No extra fee for our pet.

We had a reservation and stopped with our dog after a very long drive before heading to New River Gorge. Sean was at the front desk and we were thankful. He was polite and funny all well helping several customers who arrived at the same time. Hotel and room was very nice - we had a small issue of no bath towels in room, however, Sean was fast to address and bring us 2 fresh towels. Lots of parking, and convenient location right off interstate. Also had a continental breakfast with needed coffee. Very happy with the price and location.

After being on the road for 8 hours, Made a reservation tonight. Showed up at the hotel and the hotel only had rooms on the 2nd floor. NO ELEVATOR! This should be listed on the website. It is not ADA compliant. I am disabled and cannot do stairs. Because Shawn is only able to check people in and out, he has no authority to do anything. A call to the Manager yielded NOTHING. In fact, the email I sent came back saying it is not a legitimate email address. Will be contacting Corporate. This is the first time booking at this hotel or even Choice Hotel Group and it will be the last. I am also a Travel Agent. I know quality service and quality hotels. How this hotel has received so many positive reviews, is beyond me.

As a diamond member and Someone who has stayed here a lot since 2021 I can't say enough about how great this hotel is. The location is quietThe rooms are always clean. the breakfast is great. Above all The staff is excellent, from the manager to the housekeeping folks and have enjoyed all my stays here. My dog traveled with me until recently. A++ to anyone looking to stay at this hotel.

This place is right off the highway, and a great place to recharge. The front counter manager, Shawn, was great. There was a pretty tough customer in line in front of me and he handled it very well. Shawn was very kind and professional in getting me checked in and answering my questions. This facility has no elevator, so I'm certain that lugging luggage upstairs causes some guest conflicts. The hotel could add a cart at the top of the stairs to help move luggage, though I'm sure someone would find a way to push it down the stairs. A liability. All and all, a great value for a room I booked through Travelocity.Safety: The building is secured with key card entry. I didn't have any problem leaving my door slightly ajar while loading out my luggage.

Bed was kind of uncomfortable and the breakfast was just average. Was extremely clean which is what is important, and all staff I interacted with were extremely helpful and courteous (clientele was not, full of crotchety old people). Overall, I d stay here again. Thank you for the positive experience.Rooms: Rooms are very clean, showers are quite small.Nearby activities: New River Gorge National park and nearby ski areasSafety: SafeWalkability: Not really walkable.

My name is Keshia but unfortunately, I don t have Google, so I m using my grandmother s account, but I had to be sure to leave this hotel at review. I stay here every-time I come to WV, I come very frequently. It s a very convenient location and well kept place to stay. Ciara at the front desk Is very pleasant and welcoming. She was very helpful and quick to get me into my room after a long travel. Breakfast is a plus here.

See below about hot water. Website said HOT breakfast coffee was warm but nothing hot at all. Picked this place over others because it stated hot breakfast. I was told no hot breakfast due to COVID (it's almost 2024)??! Lacking hot water and hot breakfast. The bed did sleep very well.Rooms: I needed to run water for about 5 minutes to get warm water.

TLDR; this hotel is dirty and our room had bed bugs (as of 09/20/2023)I wasn't expecting much from this hotel, I knew it was a one night stop-over and it wasn't ideal, but ultimately would be fine for one night. The stairs and hallway leading to our room smelled horribly of industrial strength cleaning chemicals as if they were trying to cover up another smell. Our room was musty to the point that the carpet felt moist, there were piles of dust and dirt in corners, and everything had a layer of dust on it like it had not been cleaned recently. The hotel also allows pets in every room, and had some dog hair embedded in the carpet. Not ideal, but these are things I was willing to overlook. We checked in around 9pm, by the time we got back from dinner and settled in for bed around 12:30am we found bed bugs crawling on the wall directly beside the bed. We packed up our belongings and went down to the front desk. We didn't feel comfortable staying in another room and decided to leave. The person at the front desk at this hour didn't have the authority to give us a refund, then at 1am we had to drive around looking for a hotel that had vacancy and ended up having to pay double the amount. Since I booked through Expedia for TD, they had to contact the hotel on my behalf for a refund. After multiple tries, Sleep Inn refused any form of a refund or compensation. I had to contact their corporate (Choice Hotels) to open a case, and they were able to eventually offer me just a partial refund via wire transfer at the base value of the room, which ends up being about $40 less than what I paid. I'm extremely unimpressed with the lack of responsibility that the hotel took. Bed bugs should always warrant a full refund.

The bathroom wasn't cleaned at all, just new soap and towels. There was hair all over the floor and tub, with a used washcloth hanging in the shower. The fridge had mold, and the tv remote had food stains. TV had bad connection.Came in late night, just needing one stay, but it was just gross.

This place met our needs while visiting New River Gorge National Park. We have no complaints and would stay here again. The staff was friendly and effective. Our room was clean and comfortable. We are giving a 4-star for the reasons noted here, mostly as a comparison to other places we have stayed recently:Two story with no elevator.Breakfast did not have meat or eggs, but did have waffles. No pool.Hotel is undergoing renovation, so furniture was in the hall when we arrived. It was moved shortly after. (We peeked in a renovated room and it looked nice. The rooms are a little smaller than other places we stayed, but we did not feel cramped.

Currently am in the middle of a two night stay and are actualy very pleased for the price. Our second floor room is very clean and in nice condition. There is plenty of parking. The room has been quiet and the common areas and room smell good. The bed isn't amazing but not the worst I have encountered in comparable class stays. I would recommend .

I am just curious. We stayed there for 4 days at the end of July 2023. There was no air conditioning throughout the building and our room air stayed on constantly. Our room smelled like mildew. Within the first week we got home, we all started a very bad cough! We all ended up with either pneumonia or an upper respiratory infection. We have had it for over three weeks now. Just curious if anyone else has gotten sick like is in the last couple of months.

the beds were okay. The shower looked like they got it from a salvaged hotel. The best part was when the guy at the front desk told me to go across the street to the convenience store to get a coke because his machine's credit card reader was broken. I finally challenged him and he gave me cash out of the drawer. They charged over $100 per night for this dump
