I've taken both of my cars to Rod's for issues. Great local mechanic and his prices are more than fair. He's also fun to talk to and good at explaining what needs fixing! I plan to stick with him.

I would give more stars if I could. Had been having trouble finding someone to work on my daughter's AMC Eagle. He found and ordered the parts, got the work done fast for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be repeat customers!

I wish I could give 0 stars. We called last week and made an appointment only to show up and have 2 other people sitting outside with the same appointment. We all sat outside in our cars not one person coming outside to acknowledge us except to ask us to move our cars. We sat there for an hour before we called to ask how much longer we d have to be just sitting here only for him to give us attitude. Get it together.Edit: You did not tell us that, you also didn t tell the other woman that was sitting out there with us just as confused. You had told us to bring the car in and you would look it over and tell us what needed to be done and then we would leave the car with you. You didn t even have the decency to talk to us or the woman anything besides to move my car. I don t even leave reviews but I m leaving one here because I m just so disgusted with how everything was handled.

Rods was amazing. Very honest and knowledgeable. I will recommend them to family and friends. Hard to find a shop that doesn't take advantage of customers, especially women! Great job!

John and his staff did a great job on my 95 Accord. It was time for routine maintenance, they did my timing belt job with water pump, tensioner and all the seals at a very competitive price. I took my car to Rod s for new brakes. I couldn t believe how fast he got me in and how quickly he finished the work! He also went above and beyond by fixing a couple other issues that needed attention that I didn t even know about. I was also surprised at how reasonable the repair bill was, especially after all of the extra work he did. Nice guy, too! I highly recommend!Service: Brakes

I came here to get my catalytic converter replaced on my 2007 Chevy cobalt LT and I also made a visit nearly 6months to 1 yr later to have my 2015 Chevy spark fuel pressure pump replaced and some valves replaced in my engine because it was faulty. Rod was very affordable on my cobalt and he was honest concerning my spark issues. He referred me to Chevy because my spark at the time was still under warranty for 1 more year. Chevy replaced my faulty parts free. I most recently returned for my 2010 Nissan rogue and I need exhaust repairs, drive shaft and new seals on both my oil pan and possibly coolant.Rod often saves you 300 or more on major repairs. It's definitely one of my trusted go to shops for major repairs. I may start coming for routine maintenance.

This is my dads shop so I have a biased opinion. I recommended all my friends to Rods. He is a very honest business owner. Been in business for over 35 years with a loyal customer base. The longevity of his business alone should show the quality of workmanship and people.

A solid local business that's earned every bit of it's decades-long reputation for stellar service and high quality work. They don't sell you unnecessary parts or services and quote a fair price. They replaced my ac compressor 1 year ago on my 2000 Durango and it still works. I forgot to leave a review. Pricing was fair and done in a timely matter. Customer service was superb!! Highly recommend to anyone needing their vehicle fixed!!

Always honest and very reasonable pricing. So i bought a car from a used car dealer. Thought it smelt like oil burning took it to another mechanic. They gave me an estimate of almost 2000 dollars. i lost my mind. Took it back to the dealer, their mechanic looked at it. Said everything but one thing on the estimate was fine. Said they wouldnt cover the cost. I left and frustrated. I went to Rods asked John to see which place was lying to me. Figured out it was the first Mechanic i went to. Rods fixed my car at a very relieving price. Car is great now. John is very honest, explains things thoroughly. Highly Recommend to everybody!!!! Very happy customer here.

My sister recommended this place because of the excellent service they provided her. She was spot on. I love this place. Very friendly people. I was nervous about being an older woman finding a place that would be fair and not try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. They were great! I wont take my car anyplace else!!!!!I was told on my first visit that bearings would need to be replaced soon on the front right. I drove it for awhile, but when your friends start asking you why your car is growling, it's definately time to take it in to Dr Rod!When I drove the car home after the repair....it was wonderfully quiet.Thank you once again to Rod and his team for taking such good care of my car!!! I went back because my car was dying fast and the battery light was on. Turns out the alternator was old and needed replacement. I was supper lucky they had time to fix it before the end of the day.I do need to stop back there because the headlights turn off the same time the engine is turned off.I was buying a used car from down the street and decided to have it checked by a mechanic. The folks that were there are honest, fast, and a great price. I did buy the car.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

Rod is one of a very few mechanics I will trust to touch my vehicles.If I'm having a problem and I can't solve it myself or I need some advice I can stop in, every SINGLE time I've either walked away with a solution or been more than happy to drop my vehicle off and have the work done.Fast, efficient and great service. I've recommended plenty of friends to come here and not a single one has been disappointed.If you need a trustworthy mechanic to get the job done you've found the right place.

John Garcia and his employee John are two awesome mechanics. They are fair, thorough and make sure you know what is going on every step of the way. Have been going to them for over 13yrs now and I can't thank them enough for always working with me on all the vehicles!!! You won't go wrong if you have them fix your vehicles, it will be done right.

Did a last minute job for me right away and personally did it to get me back on the road. I was so impressed asked for a quote on a timing belt job and was quoted half what the other shops quoted. Every time was done quickly and professionally! He takes time to talk with you and you feel like he has know you forever. Their credit card reader broke down and told me to take finished car and come back next day to pay, total trust!! Give this local hometown feeling shop the business. You will be treated fairly and honestly, won't regret it!!

My wife and I were looking at a car in Spanaway. Since we live 100 miles away, I checked local mechanics and Rod s had the highest rating. We wanted to get it looked at by a professional before we bought it. John took time looking over it, driving it, hooking it up to the computer and finding out the vehicles history. We bought it at his recommendation. So happy to have met him. Thanks for everything, John.

If you want someone who goes the extra mile for you and your car rod is your man. I had him do some motor mounts on my Nissan sentra he went above and beyond checking all my other front end components and trying diagnose another problem I was having for no charge. His process were the cheapest for the rating level. I Will be bringing all my vehicles to him in the future.

Rod looked at a pre-owned auto for me in order to make an informed purchase. My friends, acquaintances, auto parts places and just about everyone I know recommended Rod's Auto Mechanical to me. Rod's been in business at this location for 25 years or more which speaks volumes. Rod's shop has the best reputation around this area (Spanaway, Graham, Parkland, etc). I couldn't agree more!

Rod's helped my friend "Handy Sandy" with the '06 Toyota Corolla that her son is (generously) paying for on Friday (2morrow). This auto mechanical shop has the very best reputation around the Spanaway area. I concur 100%!

This place was referred to me by my co-worker, so I gave it a shot for them to replace my clutch as it has been slipping. After the work was done, three things were wrong: 1) I now have chirping coming from the transmission (OEM clutch kit I provided contained new pilot and throwout bearings so why is there chirping?) 2) There is constant chatter from between the fork and the throwout bearing (there is supposed to be a clip on the backside of the throwout bearing holding the fork to prevent tapping, every time I put slight pressure on my clutch pedal, the chattering will go away) 3) My starter was reinstalled with only 1 bolt and I have been stranded multiple times until I finally discovered that my starter was loosely installed with one bolt (come on really? We all know there's supposed to be 2). Needless to say, I would have rather spent the extra bucks going to the dealership. At least my clutch does not slip anymore.
