The team here is awesome generous, fast, and straightforward.I had a badly rusted and stripped screw on an engine part. They generously offered to help me and got the job done very quickly. I am very grateful and I will be bringing my business here and recommending it to my friends.

The mechanic, William, didn t seem to want to listen to the issues with my car. I explained that a specific warning light had come on Service ESC and the mechanic insisted it was ESP. I then attempted to explain the other problems I was having, but he was dismissive and clearly wasn t interested in doing the work. It s all good, I ll be taking my money elsewhere!

I have been using Dere as my auto shop for 25+ years. They are the best. They perform great service at fair prices. They never try to upsell or do unneeded work and indeed will let me know if something is not needed. These people are incredible. They work so hard and efficiently to get your car fixed in no time and are straight to the point, kind and but patronizing to me for but knowing much about car repairs, and will NOT overcharge you. Go here, there's no other place I could possibly recommend more. My Fiance and I take both of our cars here for regular services and such. They have always been incredibly courteous, quick, and of incredibly high quality and reliability.One of the things I most appreciate about them is that they aren't the kind of place to trick you into having services done that are unnecessary. Never have they attempted to tell me that something needs repairing that is actually within working order.To even go a step further, they will break down for you what needs to be repaired immediately, what could probably wait but should be on your radar, and things that of low importance that you should at least be aware of.I cannot recommend this place enough, and if I were able to give more than 5 stars, I would.

Outstanding service here. I brought in a vehicle with an oil line leak that a previous mechanic turned away as unfixable. I was feeling pretty lost and hopeless, but Dere listened to what I had to say about it and took the time to research how they could solve the problem for me. They successfully completed the repair and fixed the leak in my engine bay. I highly recommend you try this shop for your automotive repair needs.

They did a amazing job putting my fuel injector in Aka the spider. No issue there. What I did find out, they forgot to hook my cruise control cable back up. Plz just take a lil time to look over your work when you're finished with a customer's vehicle. Thank you at Dere Auto. 96 Chevy 2 door Tahoe.

One of the last auto repair place in the "valley". Great prices compared with pretty much any other repair shops. Got my Lexus, Mercedes and Honda repaired here with no issues. Hope they don't get pushed out by development with more apartments complexes.

Dere Auto was our preferred mechanics while we lived for years in the Rainier Valley. We've since moved to West Seattle, but for trickier issues, we still continue to bring our cars here. More than once they've addressed issues other mechanics botched. No fuss, very honest , knowledgable, and easy to work with. Highly recommended.Services: Engine repair, Battery

I had a great experience with DERE auto and my mechanic was Sean. He was very professional, prompt, and communicative. About three weeks ago, I had my INFINITI repaired here for an overheating issue. I was driving about 5mph in a parking lot and started seeing a growing cloud of smoke. After watching the temp gauge rise rapidly before triggering a checking engine light, I assumed the worst and had it towed to a friends house. The next morning I brought it to DERE because it was one of the closer shops. I was initially told to expect a 3-4 day wait. When I arrived and spoke with them it was handled the following day at a reasonable cost. Turned out that the coolant was slowly leaking and a replacement was needed. No issues since.I ll go here moving forward and would recommend it to friends.

These are honest mechanics I can trust. I brought my car in as it had been making intermittent noises. They couldn't find anything wrong with it, even after checking multiple things and sitting through a test drive with me. I couldn't hear the noises anymore either. They didn't charge me for any services; they didn't ring up any unnecessary repairs, even though they easily could have. They also loved my dog!

Dere auto is awesome! They should change their name to Dear auto because they care a lot about cars. Not only is my car running great, but the price was more than reasonable and the gentlemen are very honest! I am a single mom and know nothing about cars but they made sure I am able to get to work and get on with my life!

I've been going to them exclusively for my oil changes, brakes and other maintenance needs for my Scion, for the past 4 years. They have reasonable prices and neeevvveeerr try to upsell you. In fact there has been occasions when I specifically asked for a tune up and they inspected my car and told me it's not time yet. I love them so much for taking care of my car without failure. I tend to work with Sam the most but literally all of the employees are professional, flexible, friendly, and highly competent.

I have been taking my Subaru to Dere Auto on Rainier for several years now and every experience with them has been excellent. They are the most honest and helpful auto repair shop I know. Last week my car died. I could see there was a problem with the battery because of obvious corrosion. My husband cleaned it up and put a new connection on. The car would still not start after charging and jumping the battery. I was worried it was the battery and the alternator both. I took it to Dere Auto expecting to blow the Holiday budget on the car. Not so! My total came to less than $50 !!!! The problem was just with the battery connection. Thank you so much Dere Auto!

I was hesitant to leave the mechanic my parents had used for 20+ years but Dere Auto is much closer to my house and the reviews were good so I decided to give them a try. I have been coming here for two years now and find them honest, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommended!

William and Sam (and all their employees) are very trustworthy and knowledgeable. That's so important to a single woman who knows very little about cars! I've been to dealerships who lie about what needs to be done, just to jack up their bill... I really trust Dere Auto.

They really know they're stuff and at amazing prices too. I had them run diagnostics on my car to find out what was going on with my A/C and a few other things. They found out what was wrong, but I didn't think it was worth fixing and they said they didn't either...didn't charge me anything to figure that out. Just charged the $20 for the tire rotation. I went to an auto shop on Alki, they wanted $100 for diagnostics. They're such nice people, very honest. Won't sell you anything you don't need.

I took my car to this place during the time everything was shut down except for essential businesses. The reason I was there is that my radiator leaked. I had the company to replace the old radiator with a new one. After the mechanic finish with the work, he called me to come and pick my car up, at the same time he tells me that only one of my fans works with the new radiator. He tells me that he could not fix the fan. He told me that I would have to use my air conditioner to keep my car from overheating. With the air conditioner on both fans work. I ended up having to take my car to another mechanic to fix my radiator fan.

Only a minor experience but wanted to share.I stopped by because my check engine light came on right before a trip. They were fully booked at the time but they hooked up the computer and gave me the output of the error codes free of charge.Masks required.

A good mechanic. That's what everyone is looking for. Some place that will be honest with you and not charge you an arm and a leg. This place is that and more. It's definitely a Don't-Judge-a-Book-by-it's-Cover place. Honestly, it's on a busy corner and hard to get to (and out of sometimes), there really isn't a parking space, the waiting room isn't meant for long waits, and the facade could use a face lift. However, none of those things have anything to do with honesty and fairness.William, and the rest of the crew are fantastic at working with cars. For convenience sake and customer "niceties", I would much rather go to Firestone. With a conglomerate like that, they have the money to make their place "look" good. Big bright sign, plenty of parking, comfortable lounge, and "professional" looking staff. But I feel like sometimes my cars come out of there worse off than they started, in addition to feeling like I *have* to do all these other repairs.At Dere auto, the prices are fair, and by fair I mean cheaper than Firestone and comparable to other local car shops. Also, they're honest. They'll tell you what needs to get done, and what should be done next time, and that's it. There's no pressure to do any of the suggested stuff, nor is it a two page list of things that are wrong with your car.Thank you Dere auto for keeping my cars safe and back on the road in no time. Did I mention that they're fast and seem to always fit you in? The one thing I do want to suggest when going there is to be clear and precise in what your problem is or what you're looking for. I've read the reviews and it seems that some of the lower end reviews complain about miscommunication. I'll say that should go for everything, but hey, people will complain.

Some real honest folk who work here. They actually seem to care about servicing a car properly. I've taken both my cars here and they have repaired them for a fair price each time.

Two weeks ago, we dropped my car off after it kept dying while I was driving, but starting up again after a few minutes of rest. I dropped it off at Dere and called the next day to check on it. Dusty, the assistant, answered and told me while he wasn't totally sure, it was looking like my entire engine needed to be replaced and they weren't able to do that, but standby by for an update. So now I'm stressed, panicked, calling around to other shops, trying to work the logistics of getting my car towed from Dere to a new shop, when they call to say that it's not the engine at all. After having my car for 3 days, they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, so I was back to square 1. Really bizarre that it went from 'your entire engine needs to be replaced' to 'we can't figure out what's going on, but it's something minor'.Fast forward two weeks and now I'm getting a "suspension fault" notice, either related to my air bags or my cooling system or something like that. I decide to give Dere another try - I even called and talked to Dusty again, explained that I was happy to take it to another shop but wanted to give them the opportunity to fix it if they wanted the business (they are very close to my house, so the convenience factor won over the last incident). I called them yesterday (Thursday) to ask if they could take a look at my car this weekend. Dusty told me sure, bring it in Saturday and they'll get it taken care of. I call today (Friday) and speak to Dusty again to ask if I can drop it off this evening instead, and he again confirms they can do the work tomorrow and dropping it off tonight is great.We show up, my husband exhausted from a long day at work, our kids starving and in pajamas, and William tells us that he wasn't told that we were coming and that they couldn't look at my car tomorrow. WOW. I'm honestly shocked by how bad the customer service is. William couldn't have cared less and closed the door behind us when we left, no apology, no 'sorry for the misunderstanding', nothing. It's such a shame that instead of using the past 2 days to find a shop that could do the work, we depended on Dere and are now stuck without a car all weekend with 2 kids that have got all kinds of activities.We obviously won't be back. I live pretty close to this shop so I was really hoping this relationship would work, but I'm totally done after my last visit.

I did oil change for my car. The person who answered my call was very polite and courteous. He told me the price and fit me to their schedule on the same day fortunately. I will go back there to get some work done if my car needs a repair.

Dere Auto has excellent service and great work. They go above and beyond and remember me and my car's specific issues. Also the price is very reasonable. They are great!
