Took my truck for oil service and checked the oil later that day or next day and it was black. I called and said I think they didn't change it. The manager told me it was a diesel, it gets black as soon as you start the engine! Then, my granddaughter was in auto shop and took our car there for an oil change and next oil change she wanted to do it herself but could not get the oil plug out. I tried and couldn't either so had to get a longer ratchet and it must have been put on with 90 foot pounds of torque or more, instead of the 15 or 18 or so that it's supposed to be. The plug came out with the threads full of aluminum from the oil pan. Pan ruined! Never again. I'm going to Kent East where they have a conscious and are pros, worth it to me to pay a little more, maybe wait a bit, and get it done right.

I was apprehensive about coming here because of the reviews, but I m glad I came anyway! It s right up the street from my house and it was a great experience. I drive a pretty new Kia and they took exceptional care of my vehicle. I got an oils change and was a call in, who came in right away and was out with 20 minutes with a freshly vacuumed car. They wet every friendly and knowledgeable and offer an array of services. I just moved to the area and am glad I found a mechanic I can trust.

Grease Monkey in Fairwood was so helpful! The guys are very personable and easy to work with. I really appreciate the work they have done on my car and how they explain everything. I ve been going to this grease monkey for my car for about 30 years now.

Upfront and don't try to oversell, although not the cheapest. I paid $175 for an oil change + cabin filter and air filter change. Overall always great customer service from the staff, plus speedy repair service.

The guys at this shop are great. Had to bring my Lexus in for a throttle body replacement, the boss helped me out with a coupon to take some money off the repair. Super fast with it, car runs great again, thanks yall!

Good service. They use mobile 1 oil which has at least 10k mile guarantee between changes. So it is cheaper in the long run.

First I pulled in and they told me everyone was on break. They shared that the car currently in the garage was a family members who they were changing the oil on. Okay, no problem. I came back a couple hours later. Then they told me they don t have the filter for my Jeep. Also understandable. The weird part was the unsolicited advice that I should go to the Dodge dealer and trade my Jeep in because the motor in it is really bad. I get that it s a jeep and all, but this is a 2022 wrangler with 14k miles on it. I think I ll take my chances with the car, and with jiffy lube!

In the time I sat waiting for my car to get checked in for an oil change, several employees walked past my car and ignored me. I watched a girl working there pull her phone out of her pocket three times to text people, but still they leave me sitting there. As conveniently close as it is, I won't ever go there again. 4 employees can't even check in a customer??

I pulled up they said do you know about our pricing I said it s going to be $120 he said so you ve been here before my engine filter was dirty got a new one whole thing was $145. Fine I asked if they checked my transmission fluid he didn t know I said do I have ask for that he said no so then he discovered I don t have a dip stick but can be checked when under the car ( to late car pulled out ) I left checked my oil life it said %15 so I had to go back to have them fix that mean while it s being fix the manager Angel only cared about cleaning the concrete floor I had to move away from my car not to get what was on the ground on my shoes. Got in the car and did not exit what ever they did to clear the oil life fixed that then went to drive away and stealing wheel was locked had to figure out I had to turn off my car and restart to unlock. Never going back

Pulled in and was greeted for one second and told to go into the waiting room. Nobody was attending the desk so I had to wait until a mechanic came to get my keys. I informed them at that time I was driving a fleet vehicle and was turned away because they cancelled the account with LeasePlan. I am understanding that contracts get cancelled, but feel this could have been resolved in a matter of minutes instead of having to wait 20 minutes, wasting my time, for the car in front of me to finish up.

First off Angel was fantastic! She took one look at my engine and knew what was wrong-I went in because I had some oil leaking onto my engine and needed the valve gasket replaced. They had the part in stock and replaced it right then for an exceptional price. Think I found my new mechanic!Thanks Fairwood Grease Monkey!

I had used this business in Renton, Wa for many years in the past. Today I had a terrible experience. They used a higher grade syn oil without my pre-approval, costing me quite a bit more than I was prepared to pay for an oil change. They failed to vacuum the floor mats, and it seemed they could not get me out fast enough (10 AM in the morning??), but yet no one was waiting in line behind me. Just seemed like they didn't care to do a good job.Service: Oil change

What a great shop. Friendly knowledgeable honest and all the work was quality. Staff was friendly and I told them to replace my battery and they informed me it was just a loose connection. I have a lot of vehicles and since then I've had them do oil changes, brakes, air conditioning, catalytic converter and mount and balance tires. always a pleasure. Troy is the guys name who runs the shop. I wish more business owners were like him. 5 stars plus !!!!Services: Tires, Brakes, Air conditioning, Oil change

I recently had an oil leak on my Honda civic which I took to my dealer to get a full diagnostic. Instead of going to grease monkey I just went to my dealership and a drain plug wasn't tightened enough so it ended up leaking. My lower engine cover was also off which could be grease monkey or it it may not be. After some sloppy work I don't know what to expect. After calling grease monkey about the issue they acted like I should've brought it to them but I prefer my dealership and decided not to go to them incase they messed up work. Whenever you mess up work it's your responsibility wether I bring it to you or the dealership to confirm you didn't properly do your job. I am now out of $250 and I won't be going back. Same bad quality as Jiffy lube and the corporate voicemail box is full too so good luck calling them.

Disappointed in professionalism. Been here 4 times. Two times they were fine. Two of those times they were rude and yelled at us once for getting out of our car before pulling into the shop stating they couldn t let customers get out and we needed to drive our own car in, then the second time was for not getting out of our car stating they couldn t let customers drive into the shop. 6 month apart in these visits. So what is it? The policy keeps changing. No signs. And no reason to be rude to your confused customers.

Always a pleasure taking our cars to the guys here...it s been over 4 years, and we won t go anywhere else, even since we moved from the area...we make the extra trip.What to expect:Always honest...great service...attention to detail...fast and always friendly pros!Take any negative reviews about mundane things as people just finding things to complain about...I see people choose to complain about vacuuming or washing the windows...Listen...do yourself a favor...wash and vacuum your own car...or take it to a detail service; but don t miss out on a great shop and team of professionals that I and many recommend and have stood by for years of great quality work.

I stopped in last minute to get an oil change for my car and am still impressed after all these years as a loyal customer with the caliber of employees they have working there. These guys went out of their way to help me and was very appreciated more than they will know. I will continue coming back time and time again for that same great service.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for a few years now and we ve never had a bad interaction. The crew that works here is busy and they re professional but they ll make sure that if you have questions, they re answered before the work gets done. But here s the thing, YOU need to ask the questions. Any time I ve had a question about work being done or pricing, they ve always explained it to me thoroughly and made sure I was confident in the work being done. I used to be a PepBoys client but it s safe to say that the service I ve received for my car has far surpassed my desire to ever go back. Thanks for the recent oil change (I was literally there for 30 minutes - mostly shooting jokes while work was getting done), see you in 3,000 miles!

Great service! I was third in line and made it through in under 45 minutes. Technicians were knowledgeable, and friendly. Conventional oil change for under 60 dollars, seems very reasonable.

Very disappointed in this location. I brought in my own high end oil and filter for an oil change for my turbocharged car. I paid about $45 for the service. 10,000 miles later, I change my own oil and it is utterly black and foul. I discover that they didn't install the 15k mile filter I gave them - they used a $3 3k mile shop brand filter, and who knows what oil. I just ran that oil and filter way beyond what it should have been. I will not trust this location again.

Update - I am still going here 2 years after my original post (below) and continue to feel the same about this Grease Monkey location. I now get my car maintenance done here as well.Original post - I get my oil changed here regularly. I know nothing about cars, and love that they don't take advantage of that and push other services. I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes, the staff is always kind and my car is still running :)

I'd give a zero star if I could. My fiance went there a couple of times to get oil change on our classic car and the third time he went there, he asked for the same service as the last two times. This time they were not only rude to him (making jokes and commands towards him which he could hear), they did his car last eventhough he was there for about an hour already. On the paper, they also have the car's make, model and year all wrong. And they charged him more than they did the last two times. Just terrible customer service.

A relationship between a service company and a customer is built on trust. The trust has been breached. I just spent over $100 for a full service oil change which was completed in less than 10 minutes. I specifically asked one of the technicians if they were going to check the tire pressure and he promptly replied "Of couse."I get in the car, the low tire pressure light is still on. I drive away and decide to check the numbers. 31, 29, 24, 25. No way could they have checked or added air to any of my tires.I U-turn and go back. He proceeds to add air and I'm literally watching the numbers go up until the low pressure indicator light goes out.Now I'm wondering if they really changed the filter. Or if they really used synthetic oil.Basic level attention to detail is all that is required. They failed. The trust is broken. We have 4 cars that we've been taking there sporadically over the last 15 years. We're done.

Do Not drop your car off unless you take note of your mileage and gas gage. Stay with your car! I filled my tank on Thursday, had full tank and when I picked it up it was 3/4 full. And they told me my coupon was good for 10% off new wiper blades!! Didn't happen!! Next time I will take it to Jimmy.

I have gone here a few times for oil changes. Most of the time it s okay. They forget to top off the other fluids quite frequently, I m never really greeted well, and just recently was told I needed to pay $109 for a oil change... granted they put high mileage oil in it (which I didn t ask for). when I brought up the price he quickly changed it to $48. Seems really suspicious to me that an oil change would be that high and there was no communication about putting a different kind of oil in my car.
