After a nightmare throughba dealership, This place will take care of you %100. Doesn't overcharge, fixes exactly what's needed to be fixed. Is open and honest with the customer. He goes the extra mile to make sure the customer is taken care of. (Towed my truck twice). AAMCO has my business for good!!

I'm stiil waiting on an answer from the Owner on refunding my overpayment. The excuse of him being really busy doesn t really work. I have emailed both emails i have for the owner left a detailed review. Left messages at both shops for the owner to contact me. They had no issue taking the money but actually performing the work and returning a call or email seem to be not a strong suit for this company. You have my contact info.

I'm not usually a person to give negative reviews, but we've worked through any course of action I can possibly think of, so here we are now. This AAMCO location accepted our car on July 6. They let us know a new transmission was needed, and today on November 12, we still don't have our car back, and they're not answering our calls. We were initially told that the new transmission would take a couple weeks, so we rented a car. There were never updates, and when we would call, they didn't answer the phone or return voicemails. Finally my husband showed up at the shop, and they told him there was a hangup and it should be ready the next week. That pattern went on for about 8 weeks. In September, we got ahold of a new person, who told us the previous manager who wasn't answering the phone had some issues, but now this new person was going to stay on top of it. He shared that while replacing the transmission, the shifting cables broke, and that part was difficult to find. He set our expectations that he would call us later that week with an update. There have never been updates. We finally found out weeks later that there was an option to send the cables to be repaired, instead of relying on locating the replacement part. We were thrilled to have an option and asked them to proceed with that.Over the past month, we've called for updates, and have been instructed to stop calling. The store manager yelled at my husband on the phone and told him that they are screening our calls now because we won't leave them alone. We've asked if we can just have our car back - just put the old transmission back and give it to us so we can sell it as scrap. Even that has been declined. We've contacted AAMCO corporate, and they just pass messages on to this shop to call us, which doesn't happen.I'm at a loss. We've reached out to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. I hate that it's gotten to this point. We finally bought another used car because we couldn't afford to keep renting, and I think our old car is just lost to us now.

10/2/23 i towed my car here for a transmission evaluation. After confirming with the front desk they were capable of replacing a transmission in a 99 integra if that was needed.10/5/23Shop calls and confirms a new transmission is needed.10/10/23 they quoted 3100 to replace said transmission.I said no problem and paid half up front. They confirmed car would be done 10/13/23.10/15/23Shop called me and said they cant find a transmission for this model. Shouldn't this have been verified prior to asking for the deposit?10/23/23 They still can't find a transmission.10/30/23 The shop asked if i can find the transmission for them.11/3/23 I asked the shop what transmissions are compatible they said they weren't sure.12/8/23I fly up to Seattle buy the transmission and deliver the trans mission to the shop for them to install.12/12 Shop quotes 968 to install the transmission and said the car would be ready end of the week. Keep in mind I've already paid 1461.0012/15 Called the shop and of course car wasn't started and wouldn't be finished until Monday because the have staff coming in that weekend to specifically finish my car.12/18 Called to see if it was finally finished and again a new excuse his staff called out on Monday....12/21 Car still isn't complete and new excuse is the mechanic quit without notice......12/22 I called left 2 voicemails no answer.12/26 They hired a new mechanic and he is going to get it done.12/27 Now there are missing bolts so they cant finish the job.The bolts are in Portland. The shop gives me the drawing of what bolts are needed i go to Portland buy the bolts and bring them to the shop.1/3 The drawing of the bolts THEY gave me that THEY needed was wrong.....I drive around to local shops and find the right bolt they need bring it to the shop at 2pm and they said they cant put the bolts in until tomorrow keep in mind they close at 6pm.All of this for a simple 99 integra transmission replacement.i have emailed the owner twice no response and i have asked for the owners phone number to discuss this matter with no response back. He owns the Renton shop and Lakewood aamco.Based on this experience i high suggest you don't take your vehicle to either of these 2 shops.

I have a 99 Ford Explorer, transmission was starting to slip (149000) I talked to Ed the manager, they tried few different things (sensors) I figured it was needing a new one and it did! Bought a new one, 3 days to put it in, few minor issues, nothing serious, Ed was very honest, informed me everything ahead of time, they fixed it no problem, it s been a couple months and working perfect! I wouldn t hesitate a minute to have my vehicle serviced their. Great Job, Thank you Ed! TonyService: Transmission

When I was looking for a place to replace the rear pinion bearing and pinion seal I saw all the 5 star reviews about this place and Ed. The start of my experience was 5 star. I drove my dodge truck in and talk to Ed. They quoted me $700ish for and $1500ish if the all the gears in the rest end needed to be replaced. I sat there and looked into Ed s eyes and said good, that s what I was expecting and what I can do. I just don t want to be surprised with a $5k bill. He assured me and said look at my reviews, I try to over quote so people are not surprised. That was the perfect answer. That was the last I heard from Ed. I left on a business trip excited to have my truck fixed when I returned. After a week of not hearing anything I called, I received no answer and no return phone call. My wife stopped by to find out that no one knew anything an and there was some illness that had spread through the office. All very reasonable. A few days later I called back and found out that sometime between when I dropped it off and when I called the rear end had exploded and the whole rear end needed to be replaced. I know the rear wasn t exploded when I dropped it off because I wouldn t have been able to drive it to the shop or get it into park. The reason they couldn t just replace the broken pieces (which they would have had to remove to replace the pinion, bearing and seal in the original job) was because when they replace the gears in the back end they are not able to get the shims right and it doesn t work. The kicker was it would cost about 5k to repair. I wish I had a good and honest experience as you all have had.Update 07/27/2023:I contacted the shop. From the response I hoped that they had some intention of making things right. I emailed and received no response, so I called. The manager said we didn t do anything wrong and rebuilding can t be done. I was hoping for an apology for not communicating, and not being clear with what their capabilities were. But I got nothing and it was clear they have not intention of trying to make things right. I am beyond disappointed, I strongly encourage people to bypass this shop and find a honest, straightforward shop to fix their car.

Bill was straight up with me and told me my car was FUBAR..needed a new transmision, struts, and over 6k worth of work. They diagnose it for free and he recommended a transmission flush and then to sell the car because it was going to strand me. I scheduled the flush and they went to look at it a second time..and he advised that it was completely screwed and he said he didn't want to take my money and waste my time . Very honest up front professional and sweet. He referred me to a used car lot that will do trade ins on junker cars. I ended up being able to trade mine in and get out from under it before it broke down. Very happy with the level of honesty and good service here. Most mechanics are downright crooks and thieves. I would reccomend this place to anyone. Reasonably priced too!!

I was on the way down to Interstate Battery next door but my car coincidentally died at the entrance of their shop on Rainier Ave. The manager Ed was wonderfully helpful - he helped call tow truck to get my car down to their parking lot and quickly had their mechanics ran diagnostics. Ed turned my super stressful day and situation to a complete relief. 10/10 highly recommend this shop!

Had a vehicle there for almost 6 months, communication was not the best at times, they didn't seem to care all that much about fixing the problem. Paid for what they had done and took car to a different shop.

From the very beginning Ed was great to work with. His time estimate was accurate. Ed is transparent was honest through my entire experience. In the end, Ed saved me over $400 due to the transmission being cheaper than what was quoted.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I will never forget the amazing care and service from Ed and his technician when I was visiting the area and my Dodge Caliber had an unexpected major issue. Ed was very compassionate; he took the time to explain the issue and then expedited the part and repairs so I could get back home and start my new job the next week. I was so grateful for their efforts and kindness. Thank you!!

I came in for a ticking noise in my transmission and not only did they identify and fix the problem, they inspected my front and rear differential and scanned my truck because they saw the check engine light on. They definitely went above and beyond! Would highly recommend this shop to anyone.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenanceServices: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

My fiance and were traveling from out of state when out transmission began malfunctioning.I am beyond grateful to have found this AAMCO Renton shop!Chandra, Perry and Lucio worked together to provide impeccable service in record time (replaced transmission in 1.5 days!).They were able to help us get financed, as they offer several very viable options for payments.Again, I cannot say enough about these people and the shop.AAMCO is also a nationwide company so I will be able to be serviced wherever we go!Thanks guys, you saved us!I recommend this shop over any other I've been to!

This is the only place I trust to address my automobile issues. These men are helpful, knowledgeable, and absolutely pleasant to deal with. They are great with calling to discuss repairs needed and why, cost, and course of action if cost is an issue. I trust no one else in the Pittsburgh Area. Thank You!

This place is dishonest and uses cheap parts. I brought my car in with the check engine light blinking. The receptionist admitted my car to the shop and told me to expect an estimate from them in the next few hours. I waited for them to call me with an estimate, and they never did. I called later that day to ask if they had an estimate for me, and their response was that they didn t yet have an estimate and I should call back in a while. After another few hours, I arrived at the shop hoping to get an estimate in person. Instead, they told me they had completed work on the car and handed me a bill for $1125.58. They received neither verbal authorization or a signature authorizing the repairs they did, and I would not have authorized this work if I had received this estimate. THAT WAS STRAIGHT UP ILLEGAL.I drove it for less than two weeks and the check engine light came back on. I brought it back to Aamco and they plugged it in to read the error codes. The computer noted a cylinder 4 misfire, which clearly indicated that one of the ignition coils they just installed wasn t operating correctly. They lied to my face and told me it wasn t the ignition coil. It was that both of my oxygen sensors needed to be replaced, giving me an estimate of $1122.02 FOR WORK THAT DIDN T NEED TO HAPPEN. My oxygen sensors were totally fine.I took my car to a Euro Car Specialist for a second opinion since Aamco's didn't make sense. Their computer showed the same cylinder misfire and the diagnosis was that Aamco had installed cheap, aftermarket ignition coils in my VW, which after having pulled them out myself to replace them saw that they literally fell apart into pieces. I confronted them on all of this, and they made me feel belittled and disrespected. If you re looking for a reputable, honest shop, this isn t it.

One of the best shops around. I ve been to busy enjoying having my family car back to drive around to write a review but I finally found some time. Bill is a Awesome guy best customer service I have dealt with they will go above and beyond to get you back on the road. They got my Escalade back on the road running better then how I bought it. Won t be taking my car anywhere else. Would definitely be bringing my cars back in the future and recommending friends and family to stop here first before they go anywhere else.

I have had work done in the past and was happy. The old front desk manager Bill was great and keep me informed all the way. I hate to say this but I took my truck to the shop with a starting issue, there is now a new front manager who is absolutely rude and lacks the knowledge to be working in a shop. I was told I had to replace the Battery and alternator. I had agreed to the work over the phone and spent $1500. After driving the truck for a couple days the problem was back same problem not resolved. I took the truck back to the shop thinking I would be taken care of and instead the new front manager said now I needed a starter. I would have been more than happy to do it during the original work but I was never told about the starter during my first visit. The owner ended up taking care of the starter at no extra charge. Although I did not give a 5 star review. Bill is now back in the shop and I believe Bill has 5 star knowledge, and customer service.

Since moving to Seattle and speaking to several auto shops Bill and his team have been the most honest individuals yet! I truly appreciate Bill showing me the parts removed and walking me through each step of the job. Talk about persistence! Bill went above and beyond to find me the best deal and was in constant communication through the process! The shop is clean and offers great coffee, who could ask for more! Thanks Bill and team for treating me and my car like family!!!!

I worked with the manager, Ed, via phone for estimates, pick-up of my truck, and progress of repairs. He was informative, and through. He made sure that the repairs were done correctly and complete. An additional part was needed to do the job right. He informed me what was needed and gave me the choice whether or not to include it.I am quite pleased with the results and cost involved. I would recommend his shop in Renton to anyone in the South Seattle area.
