I recently had my door lock repaired with a new actuator. I noticed that my door rattled after the repair. I took it back and asked them to fix it. They said they had. I got home and tested the door. It still rattled. So I went in and fixed the problem myself. They had left off two important bolts that hold the actuator to the door frame. I m very disappointed because their work had been good before that. Can I trust them now?Service: Auto power window repair

We had the most frustrating experience working with the guys here. The person we talked to is super rude and utterly unhelpful.First they did a simple check on our engine for the engine oil leaking issue. But without fixing anything, they charged us 160 bucks. When I decided that we are not fixing our car here. The guy simple says that the best way to get rid of our car is to donate it in the current condition since no dealer is going to want it.Save yourself some money and energy and go to any other places. The unprofessionalism is utterly stunning...

I don t usually leave reviews- but I cannot express how grateful I am to have found this place. Being a female in my mid twenties and not knowing a whole lot about cars I actually had my brother call around because other places I ve gone to in the past are a little rude and judgmental- my brother told me this was the place because they made an outstanding impression over the phone. I came in and I knew right away he was right- I spoke with Chris and he was EXCELLENT at explaining things to me and was SO personable and helpful. I had quite a few issues with my car and they took care of them and gave me guidance as to what I d need to watch out for in the future.

I dropped off my 2019 CX-9 using the night drop (wicked helpful, and a very thorough form!), wrote down what I thought was needed to be done: 60K service, spark plugs, brakes, transmission, front and rear differentials, with an addition to find and fix what was needed. Was provided a very reasonable quote for what I asked for above, plus the addition of needing a new battery (original to the car) and picked my car up and it runs like new.I ve only good things to say about this shop, as this is the second vehicle I have had serviced here.Top notch service, priced right, and done right.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Brake service & repair, Auto maintenance, Battery, Oil change

The staff was friendly and helpful, however, I took my Audi Q5 here for routine service and had some issues following. First issue, they explained to me a part was needed and that it would be in within a few weeks, they'd call me to follow up and schedule. Never received a call. Tried following up with them; no record of this. So, unsure if I was told the original message in error or if my car still needs this part and they never wrote it down and followed up. Second, I've had some issues since taking my car here. It could be a coincidence, but I ended up taking it to the dealer and they said there was a sealant used that shouldn't have been that was not working properly and caused an oil leak in the engine and resulted in a $3,500+ bill. I have no proof that this was due to anything Automative Experts did, and it could have happened before I owned the car, but never had any oil related issues until after bringing it here. In summary, I will not take my Audi here again. I would consider taking an American made car here as they seem friendly and knowledgeable.Services: Tire rotations, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Our car would not start and after calling AAA when they could not get the car to start we had it towed to them and they worked us in, diagnosed the problem, got the car working again and provided feedback on vehicle repairs we were not aware were needed. Chris was our service manager and main contact and was great to work with. We will be coming back.

If you are looking for the BEST auto repair shop around the Kent/Maple Valley/Covington/Auburn areas, please go to Automotive Experts in KENT (please note - this is not the same company as the Automotive Experts located in Maple Valley, which is terrible). We brought our son s truck into Automotive Experts for an electrical issue that was misdiagnosed multiple times by another shop. The owner, Nick Tubbs, his mechanics and Service Manager, Chris, are very experienced and thorough. Not to mention HONEST & really nice guys! My husband and I are thrilled to have found a shop that cares about its customers. We will be back for any future auto repair needs, thank you so much!Service: Electrical

We started with Automotive Experts out of convenience of location and got such a good deal for tires and then an oil change that when we needed a full brake job we pretty much knew where to go. Out of curiosity, I got an estimate elsewhere first and they wanted over $400 more than Chris (Manager who is professional yet personable; honest and knowledgeable)wanted at Automotive Experts. As expected, they exceeded our expectations and for a great price! We won't go anywhere else for our car's needs. The service, experience and prices are just too hard to beat! Go see Chris at Automotive Experts!Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Did my oil change, and they were very quick. Recommended a few maintenance areas that I need to get done, which was great. I'm definitely going back there soon.

I needed a quick, last-minute pre-purchase inspection for a car I was about to buy that seemed to have a problem with the back left axle support. I lucked out in calling this place first! They were able to fit me in straight away. The owner and his coworker looked at the back left axle and did a once-over of the rest of the underside of the car and told me that although I should get the back left axle fixed in the next 40k miles or so that it was safe and good to go! Quality people and quality work. I definitely intend to come back here!

I went here with a check engine light on. They're across town from me but some friends use this and the tire shop next door and recommended them because they accept "SNAP" which is a type of credit. When I arrived I observed a mechanic park a car in the disabled parking and leave it there. Keep in mind each time I went there the disabled parking was full of untagged and without placard cars implying the shop uses it for general parking of cars in repair or repaired. I went into the repair shop and asked for an application for SNAP to pay for my repairs. The manager 'Chris" gave me a card and information to apply. When I applied it said I was approved. But, Chris informed me they would need the car for at least a day and so I waited. Figuring I had credit that other shops accept I tried going to a shop closer to home. They said they don't take that credit but another form of it. So they gave me a card to apply for the credit they take. In both instances, applying meant texting numbers to a number and then getting a link to finish applying. Understand that nobody initially informed me of what kind of credit I had been approved for and which kind I applied for at Automotive E. until I spoke with SNAP multiple times and even they at first did not explain their programs. One type of credit is used for merchandise and the other for repairs. A couple weeks had passed and I was on the verge of giving up because now I wasn't sure that the shop that gave me the application took the credit I was approved for. But, considering Automotive E also never called me back when the shop "manager" said he would and considering his condescending and dismissive tone and attitude and considering the misuse of the disabled parking, my partner and I went back to speak to the owner. But, we didn't want to speak the manager because of his attitude. We wanted to know why I was given a credit application if they don't accept that credit for starters. So we went into the tire shop and asked the woman there if she knew the owner of the repair shop next door (Automotive Experts) as we explained the situation with the credit and everything. She immediately offered to mediate and "fix" the problem and we all went to Automotive Experts. She and "Chris" began discussing my SNAP credit and she got on their computer behind their desk implying a business relationship of some kind as now she is on their computers helping me. She then insists they (Automotive Experts) take the form of credit I have and that there would be no problem. Chris appears to be in agreement with her assessment and so we scheduled the repair. I even asked several times if they were sure and pointed out I would have no other way to pay if not. I dropped my car off and the next day it was ready so I went to use my credit. Chris began processing the payment, which I had been informed was processed different from the other form of SNAP. But then... It was declined. Apparently it was the wrong kind of credit. Chris refused to accept any responsibility for this. I spoke to the owner who also refused to accept any responsibility. At no time was any resolution offered. The owner pointed out they need to be paid but offered no solution that would have allowed a payment arrangement. At one point the owner even threatened to ask me to leave because I insulted him and his shop when I complained that the cost was excessive and I felt ripped off and, worse, without any method to pay because they don't accept credit that you apply for using the information they give you. They are dishonest and they will rip you off. I went in for a check engine light and was left paying 2,471 in repairs without the ability to use credit they assured me I could use. I had to borrow money from friends and had I not been able to they would have kept my car and auctioned it, as is their right after a period of time. If you are low income stay away. If you are desperate they will take advantage. Dishonest, rude, and disabled unwelcome. Their response leaves out details and a lie. I have proof and witnesses.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I asked them to look at me rear differential. They didnt they went right for the transfer case. Not what I asked for.I get a call with a 8 thousand 800 dollar estimate.I could buy 4 tahoes for that. What a rip off the parts to rebuild the differential are 400 dollars let alone a brand new differential is 3 grand. They NEVER looked at the differential. Here is the worst part 149.00 bill to tell me my differential and transfer is bad. I already knew that.It sad that a place like this is there to rip people off with ridiculous pricing.DO NOT GO THERE. I should have driven away when I got there an employee was screaming at his phone in the parking lot.Horrible experience from a untrustworthy company

I went to this auto shop despite the questionable reviews. I went in knowing I had a fuel leak but i needed a little more information as to the location and more specifically what was causing it. Chris is the owner and who answered my call and about a diagnostic. The price was reasonable so I went with him for this. I fully planned on hiring this place depending on the difficulty of the job. After the diagnostic Chris told me that the part couldn't be located anywhere and that the one he found was $1600 dollars, Out the door he said it would cost $2100 with labor. The part cost seemed high so I asked him if he called the dealer and he said yes he did and that they didnt nor couldnt get one from them. At first I believed him. I mean it took him an hour to find the problem. He seemed convincing. When I left I just felt as if I should double check this quote. I called the local subaru and gave them the part number I had been given and shore enough they told me they had one for $550 and it would be 24 hours to get it. I also looked on line and found one on Ebay brand new for $300. I has since spoken to two others who have had the same issue. One of which was a quote from Chris for $750 to replace a light bulb. This man will lie to you and most likely answer this post with some ridiculous excuse which he has done many times. Please trust me when I say this, don't go to him. Ask friends, or better yet go the dealer that makes the car. They will always get you the correct diagnostic.

This is the place to go for auto repair. I had a failed air conditioner right as the temperatures started to rise. My experience at a dealer was terrible, leaving me with still no air conditioning and an engine covered in Freon. I went to Automotive Experts in Covington and Chris had my car cool, my engine clean and running perfect in one day. He is friendly, professional, and really takes pride in his work. We will be returning for all our car needs from here on. A+!Service: Air conditioning

I was on my way home last Wednesday when there was a really loud *POP* from the front end of my 2002 Dodge Stratus. The left front of the car suddenly dropped onto the ground and the car was NOT moving anywhere. Having used the Kent Automotive Experts through my work before (I work at a collision repair shop) I knew that they could handle whatever curve ball this car just threw. So, I called the tow truck, had the Dodge towed to Chris and hoped for the best. A couple of days later (they had to work a miracle to get the car physically into the shop) Chris called me and gave me the news. The lower control arm had somehow fallen out of the spindle. They had also done an inspection on the car and found that the spark plug in the first cylinder had a crack in it, the brake fluid had water in it somehow, and there was oil in places there shouldn't have been. So, he quoted me ~$1500 for the tons of work that this car needed. I talked with my husband, I approved the work, and was given an ECD (estimated completion date) of today (2/26/2020). I got a call from Chris yesterday, and the car was done; a day early! I went and picked it up, and Bertha (the Dodge) is running better than when I bought her!Much thanks to Chris and his technicians! Hopefully it will be a while before I get to see you guys again :)

This is overdue-I have a 2010 Ford Escape.A few days before Thanksgiving, i had a blinking check engine light, indicating a misfire.I took it here, Automotive Experts, and they did the run up.Right off the bat, i knew they weren t going to BS me.Through phone conversation alone, the mechanic and I agreed to a few things that likely were NOT wrong with my car. When dropped off, and after running the diagnostics, they let me know about $3k worth of work that neede to be done. All 6 plugs, a plug boot, almost every gasket in the engine...a few other things, it s been a while, and the price quoted was justified for the work they intended to perform. They could have lied and said i needed new coils- they didn t.They could have lied and said i needed 6 plug boots, but they didn t- just the one. They replaced my timing chain cover gasket, and easily could have told me my timing chain was off- they didn t.They could have gouged me for $2500 MORE in work, but they didn t.They just didn t BS me.Not even on a level of they tried and it didn t work - they just didn t try. They actually worked on my engine so efficiently, that when all was said and done, they wound up shaving a considerable amount of time from the original quote, saving me money.Literally hundreds of dollars. They even let me know of an online coupon, saving me another $25-50 at check out.3 months later, my truck hasn t had a single hiccup.Quality mechanics are hard to come by.Automotive Experts offers exactly that.Service: Engine repair

I took my diesel BMX X5 to Chris and the team today because I needed my diesel fluid replaced asap. Not only were they able to get me in on a days notice but I ended up needing new brakes badly. They worked so hard to get the parts in, car done, and back to me today. I'm in an outside sales job so being without my car is not possible. I'm so grateful to be back on the road and feeling safe. Robert was great to work with and a shout out to the lead mechanic there as well. I will definitely return here in the future and my husband is bringing his BMW here next. Oh an great prices - feels nice not to be ripped off by going to the dealership!

I went in because my check engine light was on. They ran the diagnostic test, which showed that it had to do with the emissions system. When they opened the hood, they found that only a hose was disconnected. They simply reattached the hose, and the light went off. They did not charge me for the test or the service, saying, "We aren't going to charge you for simply reattaching a hose." Great guys who do great work.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I found Robert managing the phone and Chris, the owner on site. My work was done in a timely manor. They also pointed out a fix for my next visit. I came here because they are not a large chain like Firestone or Goodyear that continually try to up-sale. Over the phone they were half the price of Jiffy Lube. These guys are for real and I had great service at a reasonable price..

Scam Artists!! I took my car in because when I was braking and accelerating there was a clicking or popping noise. I have a warranty on my car that covers most work done. After looking at my car they called me and told me it was my rack and pinion that needed to be replaced. This also happened to not be under the warranty contact. They said the cost would be $1900 and some change which i was unable to do. I have a friend who is a mechanic and i had him take a look at it for a second opinion/possibly cheaper option since the warranty was out of question at this point. He drove it and said that there was no way it was the rack and pinion. He took the front tire off and found a loose bolt... A LOOSE BOLT! These guys really tried to play me for almost $2k!! Don't ever take your car here!! On top of that, when I went to get my car they tried to charge me a diagnostics fee of $137. I completely understand if this was something talked about when I dropped the car off, but it wasnt. Nothing was signed saying i would have to pay that let alone even brought up. Also the owner Chris at the front desk is completely full of himself. He also wasnt wearing a mask in compliance with the state law.

If I could give a zero star I would.I took my daughters 2001 BMW there to have a pressure test done because of a coolant leak I couldn't find and over heating problem. No blown head gasket, I already did a leak down test and removed the valve covers.I waited for over 1 1/2hr before before deciding to get a ride home since my appointment was at 9am and they had not even moved it inside yet. 10 minutes after I left they called and said it was done???I was told the pressure test was fine but I needed a new electronic thermostat & housing because it was not fully opening. Also a new clutch fan and my AC belt needed replace because it was bad. $500+ estimate.I bought all new belts, thermostat and clutch fan from local parts store and headed home. Replaced the thermostat, replaced both belts even though after removing the fan shroud (PITA) the belts looked like new. Go glaze, no checking/cracks. Later I found out they had been replaced 10K miles ago. :( Saved the belts for emergency spares.Pulled the clutch fan and then put it back on because it felt like new. Exactly the same resistance, no bad bearing feel. I also replaced the thermostat as suggested. The car/SUV still had the same over heating issue and slowly loosing coolant. :( FINALLY I found a small pin hole in the overflow tank that was hidden and only leaked when HOT but would have been obvious if a pressure test was ever done. 100% it was never done.$110 wasted and I doubt they even hooked it up to the machine like they said but I know they never did a pressure test that is the main reason I took it there.IF you decide to go stay and watch to make sure they do what they say. Me, Ill NEVER go back and Ill never recommend anyone else go.BTW if anyone questions if this is real or not I still have my receipt and quote for extra work as well as pictures of the pin hole I found a couple weeks later on the overflow tank.

Outstanding service! My husband and I usually do our own vehicle work... but we were in a pinch and needed some quick work done. Chris was able to fit me last minute... with a smile. His team was knowledgeable, efficient, and trustworthy! They tell it like it is, no added fees or unnecessary work!! Based off my experience today, I would happily recommend anyone go to this facility.

Me and my family have been going to these guys for years after getting scammed thousands of dollars by big names places such as firestone and dealership certified places.Ever since then, I ve been paranoid when it comes to mechanics. Once in awhile I ll check their work from a vehicle I got back from Automotive Experts and can say they pride themselves in their work and honesty, which is a term I rarely use unless they ve proven themselves time and time again.Their customer service is outstanding, which is hard to say for a lot of places around the area. I hope they can continue this. It s really refreshing to see. These guys will always have me and my families business. To the owner; I know you skim the reviews from time to time and just want to say, keep up the amazing business you re running here. It s hard to find trustworthy mechanic shops around the area I live as is with so many others to choose from.To the staff: Everyone appreciates your guy s hard work, even if nobody tell it to you. Keep it up!

GO HERE!!! Simple oil change was 1/2 the cost of Jiffy Lube, and obviously higher quality work. And, OUTSTANDING service!!! Beyond impressed. I had made a comment about missing lunch and Scott gave me his banana !! Both Scott and Chris (owner) shook my hand when I came in and were both amazing!

I took my car in for problems starting and they took a look at it and were able to fix it. Granted, I did not want to spend as much as I did, but they did a good job at breaking down what was going on with my car and explain to me what they were going to do and how it would help. They were very informative and professional in their conduct and I felt very comfortable with the work they did. Although they also found issues with my brakes and I really don't want to spend the money on it, at least they looked and told me :) Thanks you guys! :)

Went in with a simple sticking caliper issue on my left front break, walked out 4 days later paying $1550.65 for a break system overhaul on my truck. I noticed break fluid leaking from the serviced area less than a week after Automotive Experts performed the repairs. I informed Chris of the problem, but he would not stand by the previous work or even bleed the brakes to flush out air pockets caused by their repairs without charging me additional fees. Do not trust this shop.

This is THE BEST auto shop I've ever experienced in WA! And I've done business with about 15 different shops as I've lived all over WA. The owner is courteous, knowledgeable, and helped us with a quick problem even though it was nearly closing time! He took the time to explain the problem and offer solutions. 10/10, will absolutely be returning!

On his way to visit me the radiator on my son's van split a seam.We were able to limp it to Automotive Experts shop . They were able to get a new radiator installed by the end of their work day . This type of extra effort is what I have found to be typical of this shop and missing in so many others.
