I emailed this place looking for a quote on a paint job for a galaxie they quoted me 15-20 thousand told them I m looking for a flat rate price guy said they are T&M so basically they want to rip you off and they want you to give them an open check book and say they have all these hours into your car but you really don t know how many hours they actually have into your car don t recommend them at all go to a shop who can look at your car and give you a flat rate number.

Number one, Top Secret Custom do not use my name as saying I like. This shop took me for $000,000.00 and I ended up going and picking up my vehicle. Large build and many things done incorrectly.Never could get the new engine running? Tried having it tuned at a professional shop, they had the wrong computer installed.Brand new 9" Ford rear end, Oops forgot to put oil in it. After I had another company install exhaust (needed to be able to tune) went to the tuning shop again. Problem this time new rear end blew up. Cost me near $4000. To get repaired, Top Secret would not cover, oh yeah no oil in rear end, what would you expect?Other items, new fan didn't work, alternator new didn't work, front air bags didn't work. Many other things as the list could go on.If you enjoy giving away thousands of bucks and have to turn around and hire a different shop to complete your project GO FOR IT.No thanks to Pete the owner, for not backing up all great reviews. Oh, my understanding they buy these great reviews, hmmm?

Ordered a car lift from these clowns and they played the classic bait and switch. After I gave them $4000.00 to deliver and install they never showed up. When I was finally able to get ahold of someone about it they wanted another $1000.00 to deliver and set up. I was able to get some of my money back but not all as they scammed me. I did find the same quality one with better spec's on eBay for only $2000.00 total with delivery. The only thing top secret about this classic shade tree mechanic shop is how they managed to stay in business.

Won't give estimate on repair work. Had insurance work to do from an accident to my classic. I took it in twice. First time was told to wait cuz no one was available. Went back next day and was told to wait cuz techs were on break. After half hour I asked again and was told they don't give quotes or estimates. Waste of my time and expected a blank check I guess.

I took my car the Top Secret Customs for some cut and buff on my restored cars paint. When I picked up the car no attempt had been made to clean up the residue left behind. It was in all the cracks and crevices and around trim, and on the lights. It was clear no masking had been done to protect parts that were not being worked. I had to disassemble parts to clean the gunk out. Additionally, the paint on the edge of the trim on the doors had been buffed so there are now metal showing where it should be black. On top of that there was a section where the clear coat had been sanded through and it was touched up rather poorly with a color that did not match. This was hidden from me as I did not find it until I was able to clean the car and inspect it. There was also a spot on the door handle that was over buffed due to poor care and preparation. I contacted them about my concerns and all I got back was an offer to re buff it if I got the piece repainted. I offered them the opportunity to rectify the issue by either refunding the labor it would cost me fix it and clean up the mess they made or I could supply the proper paint so they could paint it. They did not respond. I am very dissatisfied with this companies work ethics and attention to detail. I will not recommend Top Secret Customs to anyone.

My 3 or 4 month relationship with Top Secret was a mixed bag. I'll start with my concerns so I can finish on a brighter note.Invoicing: TS does not break out what you are paying for specifically. They "blend" their invoices so you really don't know what costs what. And another annoyance is that the same thing ya paid for two weeks ago, shows up on another invoice down the road, blended in of course so you don't know specifics. Somethings that showed up on invoices were things done before TS got the car, but they billed for it anyway. It may not be shady, but it sure feels that way.Estimates: Some were close, some were hundreds of dollars different with no good explaination. $900 estimates that turned into $2600. It's impossible to determine why. Even the office staff doesnt know why all the time because you have multiple folks in the organization doing the billing. You just take their word and hope for the best. See blended invoicing mentioned prior. When asked about specifics, the shop in general seems to take offense. After 15K ish for mostly interior work, the car was towed home. There was a laundry list of items billed but not complete. Mostly minor items but things billed none the less. They charge to re tow the car to complete the work they should have done in the first place. They are indifferent and annoyed you want it done correctly. Now the good...Communication: Besides the generic bill, communication was for the most part excellent. I appreciated the updates and step by step progress. Some really good cats in the office.Design and paint: It is obvious they have some skilled folks behind the curtains. Some of the work was really top notch. They had cool ideas that we used in the build. Some staff were very helpful and made the situation better.Overall: I wouldn't use TS again. Some because of the billing practices but mostly for the principle you should get what you pay for. I get the feeling they think I work for them or I should be dropping tens of thousands of dollars with no questions asked. They seem to go out of their way to hide exactly what they do for what price and are put out when questions are asked. Restoring cars is expensive, I get it, I just want to know what I am paying for.

I'm a retired auto tech for Ford motor company. I brought my 67 Camaro into top secret Customs to have ignition and exhaust replaced, also trans repair. Ignition was installed with out a resistor which fryed module. Was told couldn't install x pipe and dumps found local exhaust shop that did both for much less money but cost additional 550.00 also headers where grounding in 4 locations also both rear hangers broke off with in 20 miles, plus scratches on headers. Trans leaks very bad. These guys put a new mechanic on my car. He was fired for poor work, and charged 125.00 per hour for such work. 8.000.00 invested. Had to have all work redone. Had car back to them twice but still couldn't fix anything. These guys might know body work but mechanical really sucks. Stay away. I would have done work myself but I'm too old anymore. These guys are a major joke!!!

My husband's passion is for classics autos. He has own over 100 classics, some very rare and expensive. When he started Top Secret Customs and Restorations, it was his passion that inspired him. We now have over twenty very talented team members, with the same passion. In Addition, my husband has hired a very dedicated staff to oversee the projects, part buyers, and much more. Our projects and their project stages can be found on Facebook. Our Quality project managers oversee the projects. This is the first shop of its kind. 8/3/2018 I met with Greg, I had removed seats out of my project car as well as door panels and had planed to bring them to top secret for a quote or estimate to have them reupholstered, upon arrival I was greeted promptly and politely after a brief introduction we walked out and looked at what I had brought in to be looked at, also they very man to do the job happened to be up front at the time of my arrival. We all spoke for a brief few mins talking about my project and my plans for it etc. I brought with me a bench seat front and a bench seat for the back and four door panels all out of a 67 lincoln, after our initial meet and greet Greg had told me how they just done an entire interior for a lincoln very recently for a total of ten thousand and change, this invoice showed removal and installation of all interior pieces, in addition to headliner replacement, behind the rear seat replacement and interior carpet. I was quite shocked when Greg came at me after deliberating quietly with the upholsterer for an estimate of 80 hours labor at 99 dollars per hour. This was the estimate without any material, after I politely brought up the fact that I m only asking to have my seats and panels redone he again went to talk to the upholsterer and came back at me for 40 hours, so again just a number thrown out again no material cost or anything, basically this shop is for people who essentially hand a blank check over and just want their projects done, in other words if money is no object this may be the shop for you.

Brought my chevelle in to get the headliner replaced. Gave me a fair estimate and got it done in the time they quoted. When I went to pick it up it had a wrinkle in the back and the manager assured me they would fix it. Got it done the very next day. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend them for any of your classic car restoration needs.'

I purchased a car lift from these guys and my experience was poor to say the least. They are unorganized, do not know how to schedule, and do not provide the information needed when it is needed. You get what you pay for. They were very wishy-washy about when my lift would be available and when it could be scheduled to install. Then two days before called and say it could be scheduled. Provided Zero info on pre-installation instructions or what they would need to complete the proper installation. They called me during installation and said "where do you want it?", with my reply being, " you are the experts, so use your discretion". I get home and they left a piece of paper that had all the pre-installation instructions required (a little late for that..), but nothing else. I didn't get a how to use, an owner manual, a training session, a walk-through, nothing. I requested a owner's manual which two 6 weeks to have dropped off on my door step and it was a ultra generic manual that was not specific to my unit. I requested specific information about how to wire the unit as the wire colors are random and not typical (yes i had a licensed electrician look at it and wire it). After continued phone calls to get wiring information I gave up, still nothing. I guess process of elimination will be the way for me to figure it out now. Thanks for all the useless help!Besides all these annoyances and inconveniences.. They put the motor in the most inconvenience location when it could have been placed in many other locations so that it was not in the only walking area. Lastly they installed the lift too far forward so i cannot lift my truck and can barley lift my car.. what professional does that? I wish I never used these guys and went in another direction! If this is how they handle car lifts.. I would Never take them one of my cars.

If you are down to spend $100,000 on a $40,000 dollar restoration. This is the place for you. $1000 a day and not a single certified mechanic in the shop. Not worth the lawsuit.

Pete picked up my truck that hadn't ran for 17 years and brought it to their shop. Morgan and the the other mechanics got it running and driving and kept me up to date through the process. I will be bringing it back for body work next!

Thank you again Elliot for showing a traveling auto Specialist around an amazing shop, loved explaining how you can better that facility and hope you do!Just breaks my heart it's owned by a selfish person, 'The Selfish Gene' by Richard Dawkins is what he needs to read.

I was in need of a pre-purchase inspection on an older vehicle, and TSC did a very thorough inspection. They have experience with older vehicles, so I found their insight to be very helpful.
