We ve been taking our vehicles to Sullivan s for about 5 years and have always had the best experience! Their repairs are fair and fast with great communication. Chelsea is wonderful. Highly recommend!

Chelsea is nice but whatever happens in the shop is not.We got our oil changed several times here. Last time they didn t screw the gas cap on so it dumped oil in our driveway. This time they overfilled it and we smelled burning. The coolant was also low. We checked it this morning with our eight year old daughter who we re teaching to check these things.We checked it with our daughter afterwards as well - the office told me two things: 1. The oil is barely overfilled. 2. The coolant is full, you misread it because the tank is deceiving.Thank you Sullivan s for helping us educate our children. all three of us saw clearly that THEY FILLED THE COOLANT! They completely lied to me. It was very low but I second guessed myself in the office. My husband and daughter also agree that the dipstick had been a cm over the full line. I d say unbelievable but it s not. It s just sad.

They gave me an honest inspection. I'm from the Washington, DC area where inspectors and other employees told me that inspectors (and dealerships) are pressured to "FIND THINGS" by the owner because the owner is NOT in business to do "public service" for the low inspection charge. It's pretty much to just generate new business (including recalls). Cassie at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. If things change, I will update my review. Be SURE to go to SULLIVAN'S Family Auto Repair as there is another auto repair shop next door. Also, I CAUGHT a ROGUE auto repair guy (not related to Sullivan's in the Virginia Beach area) in a $2,000 LIE as he tried to swindle me. Stay alert to any local or NATIONAL media who may just "sting" this guy in a "sting operation" on TV! Autozone recommended Sullivan's to me when I explained my recent experiences and looking for an "honest" auto repair shop/inspection place.

I took my GMC truck in for an oil change, tire rotation and state inspection. I received a phone call the same day that my truck would not pass a state inspection due to water in both taillight lens and lower front ball joints would need replacement. repair quote for Ball Joints replacement cost of $931.94 and taillight lens replacements costs of $801.36. Told the folks at Sullivans Auto to put a Rejection decal on the truck. Upon arrival home with my truck I noticed oil on my driveway and crawled under the truck to check out what was going on. I found the oil filter covered in oil. I wiped the oil off the filter and was able to hand turn the oil filter a half turn tighter. I chose to replace the taillight lens myself for about $84 and checked my ball joints and felt that there was nothing wrong with them. I took my truck to another garage for another state inspection. I explained to the new garage what had happened. The lower ball joints did not need replacement and the truck pass the state inspection with replacement of the wiper blades. I will not be taking any of my vehicles to Sullivans Family Auto for any work to be done.

Many thanks to cheerful,professional Ashley and the staff for completing a scheduled inspection flawlessly. I'll be returning for my car maintenanceneeds. (Might you consider replacing your yellow business sign from the corner of the building to an area closer to your Office? I walked in the "other" car service centerin error, as I'm sure many others have done. It wasn't pleasant. Would hate to see you lose business due to the placement of your sign.)

Had a coil replaced on a Ford five hundred have had to take it back four times now the last time they lost the screw that holds the coil in place so they just stuck a screw in there that won't even tighten up I have spent nearly two thousand dollars there in the past few months with shocks struts and the coil needles to say I will not spend another dime there

I've brought my vehicles to Sullivans in the past and was reliant on their work. My last experience, and it will be my LAST, was horrible. Communication sucked. I had to call them for updates before they called me. I brought my vehicle for one issue and it got broken into on their property, and I had to painfully wait for parts to come in through some vendor they went through costing me time and missing days from work. I would not recommend them to anyone or use them ever again. (Who does a tune up and replaced only what is wrong and not the whole thing. That's not a tune up. Called around to different shops and dealerships, and they've never heard of it before) Disappointed and no longer a customer

Asked lady if they'd install an air filter I bought for a few bucks during the oil change? They charged me half hour labor for a 5 minute air filter installation. I was expecting 10 dollars for install at most. Cost me 45 dollars for that air filter. Probably would have charged 100, if I bought the air filter there. If I'd of known the price beforehand, I'd of put the air filter in myself. They didn't calibrate on my cars computer, that they did the new oil change either. I feel cheated and violated by their terrible customer service.Service: Oil change

Honestly if you are looking for a place that will help with checking an engine light or helping you fix a problem, this place may not be your best bet. Came in for a 3:30 appt and was told it would take 45 min, did not have my car back till the next day. Additionally, I was never really given clear definite answer on what was truly wrong with my car instead it seemed they looked up online the common causes and went with whatever seemed best for them to try to fix for me for more $$. 150$ down the drain to literally learn nothing.Service: General repairs & maintenance

After 5 good years of service from Sullivan's, they did an absolute hackjob on my evap coil replacement after my family bent over backwards to accommodate some of their staffing issues. We're sadly done with this place.

This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever dealt with any business in my entire lifetime. I took my car in September of 2021 for some repairs. Tom Sullivan was referred to me as the go to Ford guy. The communication was non existent. The first time I even spoke to him was the beginning of April 2022. Excuse after excuse..I still need to take it to someone else now. 8 months of pure frustration. It would have been nice to work with a company that at least acted like they care. Would never refer this guy to anyone. I could write 3 pages of my horrible experience.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Awesome people and service. Took us in right away when we were attempting to head out back to Ohio and our window fell in on our door. They diagnosed, ordered parts, repaired it, and had us on the road home within 2 hours. Not to mention the price wasn't too bad either. Friendly staff and quick service. I arrived without a booking at around 3pm, they had my car serviced, completed a state inspection and did a tire rotation and had it ready by 5.30 pm. I have a voucher book that my wife purchased with them, over $1,000 worth of services for just $100. Great value.

So far this place is great. I just moved down here and my car needed some work and took it to one place and they told me it was going to be $426. So I call Sullivan's Family Auto Repair and asked how much the work would be and they were affordable and I asked about getting it done tomorrow even tho I know it last minute but I have work and school and have no other way around. The girl in the office told me if I could get it there she will have it done and call me tomorrow to pick it up! They have great customer service! I ll make another review after I get my car back!Just got my car back and it runs great! The mechanic call me this morning to let known that they looked at it and were staring to work on it and what they found. Few hours later I was told I could come pick up my car. Just like yesterday the girl in the office was very friendly greeted me with a smile and was friendly. I be taking my car there again when I need more work done to it and recommend it to anyone that asks me about places to get work done on their vehicles!!Thank you!!!!

I heard about this service through a coworker because I needed a tune up and oil change. When I took my car I dropped it off and went back to work. They called me every step of the way, exhausted all resources to run tests and do research to find out what could be causing the issues with my car. At first it read codes for something really expensive, after doing some digging they found a way to bypass the code and cleaned out my hoses while reassuring me they had saved me quite a bit of money and they car was running much better. Chelsea, Kelly, and Tom were all extremely helpful, friendly, professional, and kind people. Took car in for a state inspection. First said our car needed side mirror lights and would cost $650. We were able to purchase the required lights for $160 and my husband installed them in five minutes time. We then returned our vehicle to complete the state inspection and then we re told that they could not remove Lugnuts on the wheels of our car to check the brakes. We were quoted at $550 to remove five lug nuts and studs. Needless to say we picked up our vehicle and went back to our former mechanic Who laughed at What we were told and quoted. Total rip off.

Took my car in for a state inspection and it was done in less than 30 minutes. The receptionist was very friendly, too. The prices were very affordable as well; I paid $33 for the inspection and a brake light replacement. Needless to say, I definitely recommend them! Thanks guys!

I'm new to the area and was looking for a reliable mechanic like the one I had back home. Sullivan's has mostly good reviews and is around the corner from my house so I gave them a try. I needed a Saturday appointment and it was Friday, Tom said I could drop the car off the next morning and it would be looked at. He called and explained the issue to me very thoroughly and made sure I wanted to proceed with fixing it, which was appreciated. I will definitely go back and would recommend!

Made an appointment for 12 noon so I would not have to wait, however an hour and 45 min. later I'm still waiting. No good. Now I'm late for next appt. I'm going back to Oceana muffler and brake. Thanks for nothing. State inspection should not take this long.

Excellent service! Honest and polite staff. Went by to get my car looked at because of a noise coming from under the car. Turn out to be my heat shield on the catalytic converter.... It rusty and bend over touching something else when I rev. the car making that metal on metal noise. They just bend it back in place. Checked my tire and adjusted the air pressure in all of them $0

You can trust the reviews for this place. On the way to the shore we had a tire pressure warning light come on. Got to Virginia Beach and looked for a reliable mechanic and found them to be the highest rated so I went there. Friendly fast and great service. Lots of locals dropping cars off for work too which was a great sign. I totally recommend them!

Been going to Sullivan's for 4 years now for 2 cars.Had a recall ,they said they checked..and said bill over $500. We gave go ahead to fix,then I found out it WAS under recall !! They had gotten door off for electrical repair . Immediately hour later told her thought it was under recall. So when I asked what I owed.. Chelsea told me NOTHING !! And then denied she said it, husband told her he also heard her on speaker phone.And she charged $ 170... ended paying fo$142.45. But what a hastle AND hustle !I out of kindness said I did not mind paying $100. for labor..but NOT $170.! Owner mechanic would never talk to after several attempt..apparently does not care about keeping loyal customers.Service: Electrical repair

Paid over 900.00 for my truck to get fixed and took it there twice for the same issue. Neither time was it fixed until I went to AAA. The owner refused to give me a refund and basically took my money. I was a loyal customer but no more

I left my old truck for an estimate. They called me & gave a quote for repairs of $650 . I agreed & told her I had coupons. After two days they notified me that the my car was ready and total was $850. I objected and they claimed that $650 was after coupons which is not true. She gave the quote of $650 before she knew I had coupons. Finally after argument and discussions they brought it down to $668 whish was the original price before coupons. Basically they bait and switched. They raised the price so they would not honor their coupon. I will not go back there any more..

I was referred to Sullivan's by a coworker of mine, who said that they are a trustworthy business. I brought my Nissan Quest in for an inspection, and there were a couple of things that were found that needed fixing. The charges for my repairs were fair and the wait time was reasonable. The office woman let me pick something on Netflix to watch on the office tv to keep my 4 year old occupied, and everyone was very friendly and professional. I would feel comfortable taking my car back there for repairs in the future. :)
