Mike runs a good shop fine mechanics and fair prices. Oil change, coolant flush & fill, a/c check and fill (services on 2 different vehicles) all done professionally. Another shop tried to tell us we needed a new gasket and spark plugs Mike says it looked like someone spilled some oil on the previous oil change. Cleaned it up and no problems. Saved us time and money Mike is now my go to mechanic for my wife s and my vehicles.

I went to this location at 5:25pm and the guy told me being they were about to close in 35 min, he couldn t change my oil. They had two bays open so it wasn t like they were busy. No one was even working on any cars. I then went to another location on Virginia Beach blvd got there at 5:40pm and they were happy to fit me in. The problem is they both close at the same time 6pm and the VB Blvd. location was happy to take my service. I feel like it s very unprofessional and misleading to have a set time of closing if they stop working 35 min before closing. If that s the case I feel like they should adjust their closing time. Needless to say I won t be returning to this location.Thank You Big Al s on Virginia Beach Blvd.

Mike, the manager was a great help! The work done on my vehicle was completed in a timely manner. I had to wait for a part, and Mike worked hard to get it to the shop as quickly as he could, thank you. He also took the time to explain what was going on with my car. I look forward to coming back and getting my car serviced by Big Al s . Go check them out.

I called the Witchduck location and spoke with Chris. I explained to him what I thought my issue was and he asked to see my vehicle first before quoting me a price to be sure. I came in and spoke to Chris and Geoff about my car. They pulled it into the bay and came back with GOOD NEWS. It was definitely not the manifold but a $135 job. I was in and out. I received excellent customer service, which goes a long way!!! As a female, I was hesitant going into a shop but I am at ease going to this location with these guys Thank you again!!!!

This is the first time in many years I found an honest auto repair shop. Mike the manager and the mechanic help me to make the right decision about service I needed. I was told by three other auto repair shops that I would have to change both front and back brakes before I could get it inspected. Big Al s check my brakes and the only thing I needed was the front break pads. Thank you. I will be in soon to get more maintenance work done.

Manager is very friendly and honest. It makes it hard to trust people now a days but they were very truthful, understanding, and friendly. Great staff and very quick. We had a same day appointment after calling in for break pads and they just had us head in. If you need breaks or anything from big als, go to the on Witchduck. Guaranteed friendly and speedy service.

Called on a Monday morning for an oil change and was told they could get me right in. Mike was very friendly. Made sure I had my punch card and got me right in. My car was done quicker than I expected and the price was very good. I always get my oil changes here and will be back soon for a brake check! If you want a friendly team with good prices working on your car, come to Big Al's on Witchduck Road. You will not be disappointed.

Great staff, very friendly and down to earth. The service was amazing! Quick and easy. They really know their cars. I will 100% be bringing all my cars to this location fun now on. They were also the only auto shop open on Black Friday which was crucial. Trust me, I called around and was met with no answers or voicemail. Thanks again.

Went in today after having a failed inspection, looking for assistance and dreading what the bottom line would be. I was met by Mike and Chris who were honest and skilled at what they do. As a single mother it is intimidating to get car repairs, they were knowledgeable, capable and most importantly had integrity! Car fixed quickly, I now have a solid vehicle that passed inspection! Thank you!!!!!!! Will recommend to family and will be back myself!

I stopped by Big Al s Mufflers and Brakes Witchduck Rd on a Saturday without an appointment. Mike was very accommodating. I told him I needed a turn signal replaced. He entered the repair into a database and came up with a fair estimate price. I agreeded and estimated time for repair to be about 30 minutes. I waited and in less than 30 minutes I had my car back, which was very impressive. But, what was most impressive was he said it was an easier fix than he anticipated so he fixed theother light also, as a courtesy. No charge! I never had experience thatkind of service at a car repair shop. I will be going back and I recommend you use Big Al s Mufflers and Brakes also.

Eddie Geoff was so wonderful help me the other day with my alternator. He was fair he was honest and he give wonderful support. It was the day after Christmas and my car broke down and I did not think that it was going to be possible to get it fixed. He quoted me a fair and reasonable price to get my car fixed and I was able to drive it home that day. I really think you guys at Big Al's If it wasn't for you my car would not be fixed.

Worth every penny I spent. Fast turnaround and amazing customer service skills. My wife would not stop talking about how down to earth and easy going the team was here. If you don t know much about cars they break it down dummy proof style. Definitely a repeat business to visit ! Loving the muffler delete on our Durango.

Mike and his staff at Big Al s on Witchduck Rd are fantastic! Very friendly and trustworthy, answered all my questions. My car has required a lot of repairs the last few years and when my catalytic converters went out I was contemplating just trading it in, but I didn t want a car payment. They weren t pushy at all and gave me a run down of their thoughts on my car and whether it would get me a few more payment free years if I fixed it Then they let me sleep on that decision. I got it fixed and it is running great. Highly recommend them!!!

I had a great experience with Geff and Henry at the Big Al s on Witchduck. They showed me exactly what was wrong with my car and clearly explained what they needed to do to fix it. I got a call confirming the plan to fix the issue and had the opportunity to approve or deny the work. I really appreciate their transparency and great work at a great price. Would recommend!

Great experience today! Geoff was super helpful and efficient at the desk, and Henry was sweet and patient, and Mike the GM was a sweet pea too. Btw keep an eye out for the blue valpak coupons in the mail- it helped me save some moola on today's oil change and brake pad replacement.

On a scale of 1-10 I would give a 15!! Top notch work by Eddie - Mike gave me an estimate for new pads and brakes and Eddie delivered - both men went above and beyond! I was able to get the work done immediately - it saved me from taking any more time off than necessary from my job! Very friendly, polite and professional- why go anywhere else? Big time props to Lead Technician Eddie, who replaced the hub bearing assembly on the passenger side of my 2008 Hummer H3 and also improved the performance of my brakes by doing a brake flush.I also wanna commend store manager Mike who explained how both were affecting my vehicle and how these repairs would improve my Hummer s performance on the road.When I picked up my vehicle, both of them took the time to explain everything and Eddie even went out to my vehicle to show me. He even offered to look at fan clutch this week at no extra charge to test & make sure it was ok.It helps that I live close so it s just walking distance but I love that they have 8am-6pm Saturday hours and that they completed these repairs excellently that same day.I will definitely be coming back thanks to Eddie and Mike!Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Brakes

The most honest and amazing service I ve ever had in all my years of only vehicle I was allowed to see what needs to be done physically on the car kept in the loop. I had to have my front brakes and rotors done, and it was Completed in less than an hour. Also the most friendliest service I ve ever seen in my life. This was my best experience with a mechanic. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone! Great customer service. Friendly and honest. Mike and his team go the extra mile to check and fix little things, but never try to upsell you on further services. Henry helped me to understand the problem with my vehicle and walked me through every aspect of the repair. I m definitely going to take my car there in the future for all repairs. well I went to big Al s because my trailer liftgate one of the rods that holds it in it was broken off and the whole piece was still there I just needed to be reset so I went and believe it or not they took me right in they got working on it right away little teeny bit of trial and error but I do give the guy an A+ for persistency he stuck with it and now the tailgate works really good I don t have to worry about losing that pen and not having to be able to have the back on it and it was just all around good experience I ve been going to big Al s personally with my vehicles and my parents vehiclesfor close to 40 years now and they have always had good staff honest dependable and reliable this place has stood the test of time is right there on the corner of Jericho and which duck Road not far from the rosewood cemetery so next time your car is it knocking or ticking or squealing run it on over to big Al s and they will take care of you

On Saturday the 21st at 3 in the morning I was driving down 95 south. I couldn't avoid a large piece of a 18 wheeler tire in the lane due to coming up on it too fast in the dark. I drove over it and it heavily bent a bar upwards under my exhaust pipe. My exhaust pipe was vibrating against it making my car sound extremely loud. The guys at Al's were able to quickly fix the bar and got me back on the. Really appreciate the quality and work they did. I would recommend them to anyone in need of the work they perform!! Thxs!

I m highly impressed! It all started with a phone call to check on pricing for a part I was told was needed by a dealership to pass the rejection sticker they placed for my power steering. Jeff asked great questions over the phone which led him to suggest I bring it in for them to take a look, as with power steering leaks their are reasonable tells which for my 2017 under 70,000 miles had none. My hat goes off to the men in this shop. They could have been dishonest and reconfirmed a non existent power steering leak as did the dealership, but they were disgusted at the fact I was misinformed and attempted to be taken for an unnecessary repair. I was physically shown my power steering hose and the surrounding parts which if a leak was present would show some signs of the fluid leak. The level of honesty, professional, and information given was awesome!!! Thank you fellas I will most definitely bring my vehicles back for any potential future maintenance.
