By far the BEST mechanic shop I ve been too! Both Jeff and Angela were a delight to engage with. They were kind, patient and made sure they explained everything to me. The environment was clean, welcoming and it didn t even feel like a mechanic shop. The work completed on my vehicle was done fast, efficiently & correctly. Their prices are very affordable. I am recommending everyone that I know about Able Auto Service. Thanks Angela & Jeff!

So happy I found this place. They are honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. I originally called to get a 90,000 mile service and an oil change, but they looked into it and let me know my particular vehicle likely wouldn't need that service yet based on the engine type/make/model. Instead they scheduled a top-to-bottom 90,000 mile inspection which was only $48 -- certainly cheaper than the 90,000 mile service. Most places would have happily taken my money and even perhaps upsold me some service my vehicle didn't need, but that isn't what Able Auto did. They legitimately just wanted to make sure my car got what it needed. All in all the inspection and full synthetic oil change cost me less than $100, which is amazing, because those drive up 15 minute oil places have charged me well over $100 just for the full synthetic oil change and always try and get me to replace filters, belts, and other things I don't need. I will definitely be a loyal customer at Able Auto going forward.

and back tag lights as well as side lights. for inspection and lights I paid 54.17. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for honest, reputable, friendly auto repair or state inspection and more. I've Brought all of the vehicles I've ever owned, have never been disappointed.They don't offer military discount, surely because their prices are already the lowest!

Able Auto is the best repair shop and mechanic that I have ever been to. From the beginning they were very transparent about what it might take to diagnose issues, the cost of repairs, and the timeline. They saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars compared to what I was quoted by other mechanics in the area. Their service is the best in the business, they genuinely care for each of their customers, and they are always cost effective. I have recommended them to many friends and if you need any work done on your car you should take it here!

Great place to have my vehicles serviced because they are honest. Never have I felt like they were inflating the problem so that I would have to have more done than I needed.

I can't say enough about this family owned auto repair service. I have only ever owned used cars and Able Auto keeps them running safely for my family. They are honest about what is needed and skilled at making the repairs. Their pricing is fair and affordable. Able Auto is everything you would want and hope for in an auto service shop. I send all my friends there and highly recommended them to all. One note - because they are a small operation. Wait times can take longer, but a little patience will pay off. You won't be disappointed.

Been coming here for several years after trying many other service centers. After multiple issues at various repair shops (the culmination of which was having my wheel catch on fire twice, and the reason why was also misdiagnosed twice by two different places,) Able was recommended to me, and I have never looked back. Angela is great about providing repair estimates, I am allowed to supply parts if cheaper, and the service is very good. The fact that they do everything I have ever needed in one place is very convenient. I like the scheduling and drop-off flexibility, and the location is very convenient, Military Highway between Norfolk and Virginia Beach. My vehicle is 18 years old, and with the continued consistent quality service I have found here, I expect to drive it regularly at least another 15 years. Highly recommend, plus you get the bonus of supporting a local small business!

I have been going to Able Auto for many years. I feel they give honest evaluations and diagnoses, are priced reasonably, and don't try to sell extra services that aren't needed.

We had a great experience at Able Auto Service. They worked with our schedule and got our truck back on the road in no time. Very reasonable price for the work we needed done. Would definitely recommend!

We ve used them twice for state inspections. Very nice people, great service and trustworthy. Never had to use them for anything more significant with our vehicles, but if something comes up, this is the place we will come to!

I've had some unfortunate dealings with squirrels liking to make a meal of and nesting in my engine compartment. Fortunately the technicians at Able are always up for whatever challenges we bring them. They also provided me with ice cold air conditioning when mine went out last summer. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this place.

I'm happy to finally review my favorite car shop that has been servicing my cars for over 10 years now! The owners Jeff and Angela are wonderful, warm people. I like that the are honest and not trying to rip off their customers. In this industry, they are one of the few professionals we can trust!

Great communication. Fair pricing. Jeff and Angela are pretty technical in their breakdowns, which I can really appreciate. I like the details and customer notes on the receipt. I needed rear break pads and resurfaced or new rotors and they laid everything out without trying to sell it. I also asked to have the AC refrigerant topped off. Would definitely recommend them.

Jeff and Angela (husband and wife owners of Able Auto) are the BEST. I started using Able Auto about 10 years ago. After using Able Auto for a few years I foolishly decided that I'd try to find another mechanic who was closer to my house. I wanted to find one within biking distance of my house to make it more convenient to drop my car off when it needed work. But after trying and being disappointed by three different mechanics closer to my house I gave up and decided that traveling the distance to Able Auto was WELL worth it. They have always been honest and fair with me. They do what they say they are going to do, do it with quality and for the price they say they will do it for. They are professional and personable. And when I am facing a handful of repairs at once, they are always willing to talk through options with me and help me prioritize what really NEEDS to be done immediately verse what SHOULD be done sooner than later.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Hands down the most honest auto repair I have ever dealt with. Recommended by family, I have found that they are helpful and forthright. Have never had to worry about unnecessary recommendations. Prices are great and service is excellent. The only place my family takes our cars to in Virginia.

They are very friendly, honest, and competent. Everytime I go there with my 2000 Chrysler Town & Country, they do quality work. For instance, back in 2011 they fixed my AC and it's still blowing cold today!

Amazing shop. They're truly there for service and not to nickle and dime you. I had to get a section of my muffler replaced to pass inspection one year and they were honest with me and told me they could fix it but it would be there times cheaper if I took it to a muffler shop. They worked with me to get my car to a local shop to fix that then get it back to finish the inspection. Truly remarkable and I can't recommend them enough.

I appreciate the integrity of Able Auto. At a local dealership, I received a $5000 quote on repairs necessary for my car when I took it in for a recall. I went to another shop for a second opinion, and they did not do a thorough check of my car, like I asked, but told me that my front brakes needed to be replaced. Friends told me about Able, so they looked over my car and checked my brakes and found nothing substantial enough to repair or replace any time soon...including the brakes. They also took the time to explain everything to me. I am so impressed with the integrity of this business! They have a loyal customer in me for as long as I live in Virginia Beach!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. TOOK MY 2002 HONDA S2000 HERE AND THEY FIXED MY ISSUE QUICKLY AND FOR A FAIR PRICE. ALSO HERES THE THING. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WOULD RATHER PAY A LITTLE BIT MORE AND HAVE A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC FIX MY CAR AND MAKE SURE THE JOB IS DONE CORRECTLY AND QUICKLY. I CALLED ON A TUESDAY AND THEY HAD MY CAR FIXED THE NEXT DAY AND I WAS BACK ON THE ROAD WITH NO HASSLE. I PAID 255 TO GET MY FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED WHICH I FEEL IS VERY FAIR. THE LADY THAT WORKS IN THE FRONT DESK IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND KNOWS MORE ABOUT CARS THAN MOST PEOPLE (MYSELF INCLUDED). THE MECHANICS ARE GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO. GREAT SERVICE WILL BE BACK AGAIN.

Jeff and Angela run a great business! I m so glad we found this place. Our Honda CRV hasn t run this well in years! We highly recommend this place. They are good! They troubleshoot and fix things and know what they are doing! If you are looking for a great place to get regular maintenance done or get bigger work (like a clutch on a pickup as our daughter and son-in-law had done), this place can do it! Give them a try you will not be disappointed!

I rarely write a review, the place either has to be exceptionally bad or exceptionally good. In this case Able Auto is the latter. Great customer service, great work, very fair price and always honest. Things that are hard to find nowadays. They are willing to go the extra mile for their customers and helped me find a part for my vehicle for $47 when another local, name-brand shop wanted to charge me upwards of $400 because they told me the only option was to order from the dealer. Able Auto doesn't try to put pressure on you for any specific auto work, they just tell you the truth and let you decide what you want to do. Highly recommend this business!
