Rodney & Jimmy are absolutely fantastic. They were enthusiastic, helpful, and forthright through the entire process. Not only that, we saved approx 25% compared to some other quoted repairs.Service was quick and updates were prompt. I hope I don t have any more transmission trouble, but if I do, I ll absolutely be back to see Rodney and Jimmy.

These gentlemen helped me fixing my 2016 Chevy Traverse transmission. They rebuilt it for me, car runs like new. I highly recommend them. Here is what I like about AAMCO:1. They work very professionally and they respect their customers a lot.2. They give you a long period warranty.3. They are honest to their schedule.4. They have a free inspection for you.5. They ask you for a checkup after 10 days you have your car back ( free of charge).6. They also help you get a finance, free of interest for up to one year.

I would like to thank Rod, Jimmy and their dedicated crew for their professionalism and helping my daughter out with her car over the past four months. After having her car repaired she experienced a new problem once she arrived back home in Baltimore. Rod and his crew stood by her and helped her navigate her problem until it was solved. It took awhile but they were very good, keeping the communication going with the Baltimore store and checking in on her.Thank you so much for your dedicated support. If you're ever in need of friendly, caring services I highly recommend you visit Rod and Jimmy and let them take care of you. First class operation in my humble opinion.

What a pleasure working with the crew in Virginia Beach. My car was totally at the bottom of a ravine off sunset Hywy I was like, dude, ya gotta get my car out of there and those boys just hooked up a 4x4 with a chain and pulled my Datsun B210 right outa there = only charged me for the body work... another satisfied customer.

Dave from pembroke and Jimmy from lynnhaven were vital to my issue. My car needed work and quotes were unreasonable. Dave gave me solutions that were for my benefit and not there payments. Honest and upfront

When you call here they pick up the phone right away. There's no redirecting your call to this and that dept or person. Rodney was very courteous and answered all my questions directly. So I went there right away to get my Transmission looked at. Jimmy gave me a very fair quote that was way cheaper than Beach Ford and they did all the work in one day..

My sister just had a terrible experience with this service center. They performed work without approval, charged more than the agreed upon amount, and when questioned, a second person tried to resolve it by saying she wasn't actually charged for that service.. then quoted the same price. Admitting out loud that he didn't know the first tech gave her a price already. The level of rudeness and unprofessional behavior is appalling. Steer clear of this place!

Why even offer a warranty? Did a great clutch job a month and a half ago, now we're having issues and sol. Anything involved in the job isn't covered... and don't leave a b.s. follow up comment. Yal had your chance allll day yesterday.

Called and got my truck in while here on vacation. Noticed I had a cooler line leaking while I was pulling my camper to VA Beach with the family. Told them exactly what line was the issue and that I was from out of town. Was able to get my truck in on Monday night and said they could evaluate it Tuesday morning. Finally picked up my truck Wednesday afternoon with all 3 cooler lines replaced and the transmission serviced.I like to verify work because I really don't like other people working on my stuff when I know I can do it, but this was an exception because of the circumstances. None of the new lines were properly clipped back into the OEM mounts and a wire harness was pinched in between the lines. Leaked fluid was not cleaned up and some plastic christmas trees holding an air dam were missing and the dam itself was torn.I did let them know about the lack of attention to detail and that he should advise his techs appropriately. Hopefully nothing else is wrong, but I will be going over everything once I get home with a fine tooth comb. I am super appreciative of the expedience of them fixing it however. Just not so much on the quality of work.

Problematic! Dishonest? We had to have our SUV towed to a place to have our transmission checked out since it stopped driving... literally. The problem? We knew it would be expensive, but what we were quoted initially was a blessing. Somewhere to the tune of $3200 for repair/replacement labor cost and maximum of $450 for parts depending on what was needed. They stated that the removal and install of current transmission was $800-$900 and would let me know final cost of parts after they removed the transmission. The $800-$900, we were told, was the standard price for having that procedure accomplished, like a manual diagnostic if you will AND that they wouldn't charge us the manual diagnostic fee on top of any costs for the rebuild/replacement.Now by the time they told us all this, they were in possession of the car and supposedly completed an intake inspection of the vehicle. But, no mention of any price changing for any reason. When they had the transmission removed, they determined that it needed to have vital parts replaced and that it needed to be rebuilt and simultaneously they found that the torque converter was also in dire need of replacement. They called us back to let us know of the cost of the rebuild/replacement and the that the total had gone up to about $5950 (give or take). We wondered why the cost was so high, so we requested an emailed copy of the workorder displaying the costs. That's when we noticed that the cost for removal and reinstall more than doubled to just over $2000! We called and confronted them about it and we received a line about "since the vehicle is an AWD the cost for removal and reinstall is usually higher"... as if that wasn't something to mention during the initial cost discussion!!! As if it wasn't pertinent? They were not being transparent with us and they knew it. They decided they would come down on the price by reducing the warranty to 18 months after offering us a 3 year warranty "at no extra charge"? but refused to lower it anymore than the $5500 (out the door) they had on the table for us. I had also asked that we do away with the warranty altogether to get the price down more and they refused to come down anymore. The fact that they didn't make us aware of the proper removal and reinstall labor cost for an AWD upfront could probably be chalked up to a slip of memory, but the gentleman who quoted me the $800-$900 cost for the removal and reinstall said that he could "say it in {his} sleep because {he's} repeated it so often". Someone who remembers a phrase that clearly, should remember to change it to fit the situation. It seems more like a taken opportunity to bamboozle us because they know we could have gotten quality transmission work done elsewhere at a lower out of pocket cost to us.We even called to research other places and mentioned that they were afraid to work on vehicles that AAMCO previously "fixed", as they had known them to sabotage work by completing rebuilds with faulty parts. The other companies also asked the vital 'is it an AWD' question upfront and never quoted us less than AAMCO's original quote. We feel as though they lied to us, pitted us against each other (my spouse and I) by making contact with us separately, telling us different things, and held our car hostage for repair.Service: Transmission

Jimmy was nasty & rude.I needed to have my car checked due to a bad antifreeze leak I was having. They told me to drop it off the night before so they could look at in the morning. I did that and they called in the morning saying they d look at it in the afternoon. That was fine. They called me and I called them back to let them know I d pick it up as soon as possible. Note, when you don t have a car it s hard to get from point A to point B in an efficient time. They told me it would be $150 to do a pressure test that takes an hour (which a quick google search and a trip to autozone will tell you it s not)(it s about 15-30 minutes depending on the leak so ). (Which they said previously they could check for free but autoshops are liars especially to women) I declined and told them I could come back next week because that s when I got paid. To which Jimmy berated me about. I had already told them on the phone previously I just needed my car checked so I could get a quote on how much it ll be to fix the broken part. To my understanding they closed at 5:30 which was fine but I called multiple times between 5:15 and 5:20 to let them know I was going to be a tad late. These people (Specifically Jimmy) gave me the NASTIEST attitudes after they didn t pick up the phone and then called me from 3 separate numbers. They all made it seem like it was my fault for not setting up a lock box to get my keys after hours. Even though I told them I called them 5 separate times before closing. I would ve been a lot more receptive if they just said Sorry about that, we don t answer the phones close to closing time because we want to go home on time. I would ve been more than happy with that response than them having an attitude with me and constantly telling me they close at 5:30 and I was in the wrong. I got there at 5:30 on the dot and no one was leaving or closing. These people close way before 5:30 and crazy part, someone was still in the office. So they could ve just given me my keys lol. But they wanted to be petty because I didn t have $150 to spend on what they said they could diagnose for free

I was recommended to this location by a good friend and they did not disappoint. Mr. Rodney and Jimmy were great! They replaced the transmission on my 2014 Silverado with a brand new one for a great price. I highly recommend this business for any transmission work should you need it. They effectively communicate and is very efficient.Service: Transmission

I went to this AAMCO after having my BMW in for service at the dealership, which they stated I had a transition leak from the transmission harness seal. They quoted me what seemed to be an astronomical price to replace. I told them to hold off. I brought it to AAMCO for a second opinion, they road tested and did an in-depth inspection and were unable to detect any leak. I m glad I brought here and greatly appreciate the shops honesty. I will be sure to come back here when service is actually needed. The inspection was also complimentary.Thank you!Service: Transmission

Would highly Recommend!! Rodney is the man!! Spoke with him over the phone with a question about my 2019 Silverado 1500 transmission fluid and how to change it. He took time out of his day to sit there and tell me exactly how you go about dropping the transmission pan, and how to fill it since these newer models don t have dip sticks. Thanks again!Service: Transmission

They diagnosed all of the problems, came up with a plan, and fixed everything in a timelymanner. It was more cost effective than buying another vehicle and much more pleasant. Hats off to Jimmy and his crew for a job well done, which means a lot to me these days!!!

Awesome job by everyone here. The turnaround time was amazing. Special thanks goes out to Mr. Jimmy and Mr.Rodney. When things didn't go so well with the warranty company, they took the time to deal with it and explain everything to me. Needless to say, they were on my side from the moment I said I had a warranty. Customer service was awesome from the start and it continued through the whole process. Thanks for everything.Service: Transmission
