Recently ran over something in the highway that caused a disturbing noise when in reverse. My usual garage was unavailable. I'd heard good things about Ed's and called to see if they could look at the car. They were able to fit me in within the hour to look at the car and determine if it was safe to drive. Within a half hour, the mechanic had looked at the car and was able to fix the problem at a very reasonable price. I really appreciated their concern over my safety and expertise in diagnosing and fixing the problem.

I've done business with Ed's Automotive for several years, with multiple vehicles. I was first referred to Ed's by another shop when a check engine code indicated a catalytic converter failure on a vehicle with over 200,000 miles. This was a major repair that Ed's completed efficiently and at a reasonable price. Later, with the same vehicle, I had a problem that stumped my regular mechanic. Ed's technician took a ride with me to experience the odd noise first-hand, then stood outside the vehicle and listened while I shifted alternately from drive to reverse. He suspected a failing transaxle, which turned out to be the problem. It was replaced and I was a happy customer. I was most impressed when the mechanic took the time to understand the problem. Since then, Ed's Automotive has been my regular mechanic. Their expertise, courtesy, and integrity are unsurpassed.

I came in for state inspection and to install new headlights and rear washer arm. Turned out I had a brake warning light that couldn't be diagnosed (No error code! Weird!) They worked for hours to find and fix the problem, but since I was waiting, they offered to let me go and return to leave the car so they could work all day if necessary. My bill was very reasonable for all the time and effort they put into the car.The associate at the front desk made sure I was kept informed of the progress of the work performed. The shop is clean and comfortable, and very accommodating. I will definitely be returning!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

Ed s is the only place I take my car for service. They re quick, reliable, and the most professional auto shop I ve ever worked with. Michelle is a delight to work with. Well, I had a shock this morning! For a single woman, there are very few experiences in this world that are more frightening than discovering your car is not capable of moving. This morning, I had that frightening experience! My battery was completely drained and had to be replaced. Not only did Ed come out to charge my battery, he provided amazing and prompt service after I drove my car to the lot.Now, I have a brand new Interstate battery with an excellent warranty, and I feel much safer on the road.I love dealing with these people! I have used Ed's automotive for several issues with my car. I always get excellent treatment and my issues get fixed in a timely way. Ed's automotive provides quality service. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I won't take my car anywhere else for servicing.

Ed is a highly skilled and super trustworthy mechanic. We were dealing with an extremely annoying braking noise over the past six months. We visited MULTIPLE other mechanics. Some told us it was the rotors and pads, some told us they didn't hear the noise, and some told us they flat out couldn't figure it out. Ed drove the car with me all morning until we heard the noise. He didn't know the answer right off the bat so we left the car with him for a day. He drove it and inspected it for two hours and called back that the only thing out of working order was the wheel bearing. We trusted him and had him replace it. We've had the car back for a week now and haven't heard any noise at all. We highly recommend Ed for any car-related servicing needs. Edward did a great job. Very knowledgeable, and willing to do what it takes to complete the job when promised. The auto parts dealer sent the wrong parts, so they reordered the parts for delivery that same day, and Edward stayed late to finish the job.... on a Friday. I picked up the car at around 6:45 pm. We have taken 3 vehicles to this shop. One that was on it's death bed. Would have spent money on it but was advised against it. Thanks for being honest. Second was a brand new f 150 hit a deer. My husband was sick about it. They repaired now you can't tell it ever happened. Thanks for your knowledge and ability to do fantastic paint and body work. Today I picked up my car that replaced my clunker. It just needed oil and general maintenance. Just an all around honest, professional and kind place to do business. Having a house in Floyd, I have a mechanic there that I have gone to for the last 25 years that is amazing, however I have been spending more time at our second house in Bedford as my job is now in Lynchburg so I had to find a mechanic locally that I could use. I spoke with a few folks that I work with and they mentioned Ed's Automotive. I had an expired registration on a car we rarely drive and it had actually expired in January, however it was end of February when I realized this, I called Ed's the morning of the 28'th of February and they said that they could get me in that afternoon. They did and while the vehicle did not pass (no fault of their own) they did outline what was needed and scheduled an appointment to fix all the issues. I returned back and dropped off the car and by the end of the day I had a car that had all the issues fixed. They told me exactly what the issues were ahead of time and resolved them all in one visit. The staff that I have met so far, Michelle and Eddie are some of the nicest folks that you could want to work with, I would gladly recommend them to anyone that needs work done.

I have been a customer of Ed's Automotive for years. From the moment you walk in till the time you leave, you know you have been taken care of. Michelle at the front desk is excellent taking care of the office. Tim does a great job with the auto body work and Edward keeps my car in tip top shape. Honest and full of integrity is how I would describe everyone at Ed's Automotive.

Since moving to Lynchburg 6 years ago we have used Ed's Automotive. Ed is so friendly and will literally pull up a chair and talk to you about your choices. One time he helped us to decide to sell our van and purchase a new (used) one rather then fix the one we had. That did not benefit his business at all but truly spoke to his honesty and care for his customers. We feel that his prices are extremely fair and the work is always done quickly.Michelle in the office always explains everything and is just so calming. Never had an automotive repair place be so personable and kind. The owner told me that they treat you like family, and they really did treat me that way. The staff engaged everyone in conversation who came through the door like they had known them for years, and they would discuss what repairs were required and which ones could wait. The pricing was very fair and the receptionist provided me with a breakdown of costs. The owner even brought me something to drink while I waited. I felt like me and my car were cared for very well.
