LEXUS OWNERS BEWARE, one of the owners does not like having to deal with the Lexus special lug key & will ream you out for having a Lexus when his employee does not return it to you. And this 1-star review (if there were a zero-star I would have given him that) deals solely with this owner.I read his response. It is interesting that he watches for negative reviews, responds calling them liars, "entitled" & rewrites what happened to present himself in a positive light & continue to insult the customer. I suggest he take anger management & customer service training instead of spending so much time on Google review trying to defend his actions, to which he has no defense, he is rude, crude & socially inept. My review:Today, after writing a check to Blue Ridge Tire Inc. for four new tires to the tune of $750, I asked the owner if the lug key was returned to its location. At the beginning of the service, I showed the employee where the lug key was & requested he return it to that spot when complete. The owner looked in the spot & it was not there. He rummaged around my car to find the lug key & could not find it. I shared with him that I had told the employee to return the lug key in the spot he had gotten it from, which set the owner off, he got agitated & yelled at me as if I was the problem. Some of his comments, I already apologized twice, my employee is gone to lunch. He questioned me did my employee have to remove all this to get to the key? I responded no, he lifted the cover and pulled it out. I was undoing a cord that had a car jack secured in my trunk so I could remove the tire cover to see if the employee left the piece somewhere in the tire compartment.Instead of helping me he started to yell at me that if Lexus owners knew what a hassle these special lug keys are for tire companies, they would have the nuts drilled out of the tires & have regular parts installed He continued, Lexus owners come with their trunks packed with their summer trip luggage & whatever else & they make life so difficult for tire repair companies etc. At which point I had enough & shared with him in the hopes he would stop his horrible nasty barrage that I had just that morning had to put my cat down & would appreciate it if he would be empathetic to no avail. Apparently having to put your pet cat down is nothing for him to be sensitive about, but something to make fun of me about. He then went into the shop to try to locate the lug key. I suggested he call his employee to ask where he left it (common sense). He returned with the lug key saying the employee left it in whatever tool that he attached the tires with. He started to say I d like to give you some advice to which I interrupted and returned to him in tone & manner how rude he wa telling him he had no right to yell at me the way he did, that if he doesn t like Lexus cars then he should have told me from the beginning & sent me somewhere else, not have me spend $750 & then ream me out for a problem created by his employee. The ironic thing is he then said, you are yelling at me! My response was I was giving him what he gave me. He then made a snide comment about my telling him I had to put my cat down that morning & my response was I told that to you to give you an indication of how bad I was feeling in the hope you would stop yelling. Apparently to him being upset about having to put your elderly cat down is something to make fun of you about. He went inside. I returned everything to the trunk, put the lug key where it belonged. During which time I thought about the problem created by his establishment, his lack of effort to help me, his yelling at me & criticizing all Lexus owners. When I was done I went inside & told him that he had no right to treat a customer like that. He tried to say something to which I responded I did not want to hear anything more and left. And yes, I yelled at him & he earned every word.Never will I step in there again.Looking at the high number of other 1-star reviews, rude treatment of customers is common for this guy.

Did a state inspection, and now my alignment is off, called about it and the representative was very rude. After taking awful language on the phone from the rep awhile trying to remain calm, it seems to have got me nowhere. Would not recommend this business. Firestone and jiffy lube has done a better job. Also they will pressure you to buy services for your car and is an aggressive when it comes to their sales, making a very uncomfortable environment for the customer.

Adding comment here since owner commented. No, I did not leave a negative review because you wouldn't see me. I left the negative review because of how disrespectful and rude you were towards not just me, today, but to my husband when he first brought the vehicle in. We let it go the first time. According to many other reviews it seems like a common response. Maybe someone needs to reflect on how they speak to customers. And no sir, I am not entitled, great name calling, seems very professional.

This place has always treated me well. Had a flat tire last night and was so glad I was nearby cause I knew I could drop it off overnight. Really kind hardworking people with integrity.

We were referred to Blue Ridge Tire Inc. by our regular auto mechanic as we needed specialized auto care for our aging vehicle. We are glad were! Blue Ridge offers personal service with transparency and integrity.

I don't know how good their vehicle work is. I never given a chance to find out because of how rude and curt their man at the desk, Kenny, was.I was describing my brake problem, and Kenny asked, "Do you know if it's the front or rear brakes?" I probably took about 20 seconds to describe what I was experiencing and then said, "So I guess I'm not sure if it's the front or rear." Kenny replied in an annoyed tone, "[What I asked] was a simple question. So, you don't know which one it was." Really? That's how you reply to customers? When we were working on a time that I could bring my truck in, he suggested Thursday morning, because they were booked solid on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fair enough. When I replied, "Man, I'm going to be out of town by Thursday," Kenny replied in an annoyed and almost disgusted voice, "Well, you should have told me that in the first place" and then said that we could have avoided this whole phone call in the first place if I had told him that up front. Really? Really?? Without letting me take a breath he quickly said, "Sorry. Bye." and immediately hung up on me.I guess they were busy. But I don't know of a good company that lets busyness give permission to be rude.Since I'm from out of town, a friend of mine from New Market recommended that I use Blue Ridge (a drive of over 20 minutes away). I'll be informing my friend to stop recommending Blue Ridge to people.

If you want your vehicle to NOT pass inspection, take it here! They will find anything possible to make sure you have to replace something! I knew better from past experiences, gave them another chance anyways with the result not shocking.

Prompt service, fair pricing and honest. Good tires, good for inspection! Blue Ridge is my go-to for tires and inspection in Harrisonburg.

I came in last minute for 2 tires and I was able to get them that day. The team didn't hesitate to go get them at another location and take care of me! Also, glad that they are open on Saturday, as I was able to get my alignment done then too. Very welcoming, helpful and quick! Prices were good too!

I am writing this review for my father, after multiple times of him reminding me to, due to the excellent customer survive he received. My dad went in to change his tires and soon after the service realized that one of the tires wasn t working well. My dad went back to the shop and was treated with great respect and as a priority. The workers in the shop (especially Kenny) were extremely helpful and kind. They replaced his tire without any additional costs and made sure my dad was happy with their service, which he was. My dad has never asked me to write a review for anything before, and the fact that he did, means that your employees are doing amazing at their jobs. Keep up the good work!

Pathetic service! Let me start off by saying there are Tire and Auto centers in town that DO care about service and quality. Blue Ridge Tire and Auto does not.Originally my girlfriend and I dropped her car off for a State Inspection. One day previous to this experience with Blue Ridge Auto, we had the vehicle serviced and restored by another company (Precision Tune Auto Care). We paid some money, but it was timely, professional and the car was in perfect condition. The headlights were restored, we replaced a tire and most importantly we had the front aligned. We were very very pleased. In an effort to get the car inspected in time we scheduled our inspection at Blue Ridge the next day.Our appointment was at 3pm, (Friday) and we arrived a little early. Kenny Heishman regrettably informed us that it would not be a long wait. We proceeded to wait over an hour for a scheduled state inspection. Disappointing but the least of our concerns. We were also very unhappy that no one wore a mask. We were the only people, even among staff and Kenny. Foolish decision.Honestly the moment we pulled out of the driveway I felt the steering wheel tilt right hard when driving straight. In hindsight, maybe I should have turned around and made a stink right there. However I am young and was inexperienced; I ve never had a state inspection mess a car up. So my girlfriend and I decided to wait a day or two, and see how it drives. Maybe we were imagining it!We were not. We waited for our next day off (not even a week later) and gave Kenny a call to see what to do. We called just to inform and ask what the next step should be, seeing how much money we had already put into fixing the car, we didn t want to waste more on the problems we already had fixed. Kenny was not very comprehensive. We called not to make accusations, be rude, or gain anything. We have the proof we need to show that Blue Ridge did this. Yet they did not meet us with dignity or respect. Kenny disregarded our direct information, claimed to not know much about cars , and when prompted to remember our experience he said he had no idea who we were. I m beyond frustrated at this point. Kenny began to threaten to hang up on me, and was dismissing anything I said. After pointing out that Kenny had no right to speak to a paying customer this way, he hung up on me. DISGUSTING. A letter to the Better Business Bureau serving Central Virginia is being written. After speaking with Kenny personally, we called Precision Tune Auto and they had us come right over. They took a look for FREE, was very understanding of our situation and took care of us right away. The technician there told us it was so bad we couldn t even document it . They confirmed our suspicions and took care of a problem that wasn t even theirs. Nevertheless I have all the documentation I need to prove my point. I m disappointed with Blue Ridge Auto however I m glad we only spend $20 there. Never again

Went once to get tires put on to pass inspection and ended up getting my inspection done there today along with new brake pads and brake hose fixed. Work done quickly, and kept informed by the owner every step of the way. Expected a longer wait and higher price, less of a wait and lower price than expected! Very friendly family run business and the sweet Mom keeping conversation going in the background kept me entertained and made it very pleasant. Will be coming back for maintenance and new tires when it's time for them. Thanks again guys!Jessica E.

They just lost a returning customer. I called to ask about an inspection as to which he indicated the earliest time would be Thursday -- which wouldn't work since my vehicle is a day overdo. I responded 'I would have to call back at a later time to see if it worked with my schedule'. He then stated 'you seem not to understand...' where I inputted 'Thursday may not work for me...(before I could state why..)' -- he cut me off with 'Since you know what your talking about, I'll shut up and listen to what you have to say'. I just stopped talking. He then added 'if you schedule an appointment Thursday, there would be no guarantee we could get you in that day.' I responded flatly 'I understood that, I was simply stating I needed an inspection sooner, since it's already due..'. Then 'okay, bye'. I don't know if it was a bad day, or what. But I can't recall a time where I've ever been cut off from customer service in my life. Good luck with business.Update: After seeing the response, I wanted to make this clear... when I expressed I would have to call back at a later time (I did NOT mention I would be calling back Thursday), that's when commented 'you seem not to understand...' and when I tried to express Thursday may not work (if the next 3 shops I called told me Friday was the best they could do, I would have returned a call) -- I was cut off mid sentence with an aggressive 'I'll shut up and listen' comment. My complaint has nothing to do with the service (my previous work done there seems to have been just fine) or the delay in the capability to schedule that evening (I understand many people wait till the end of the month). It seems the majority of your response was an attempt to disqualify and diminish the significance of my review -- 'It's like some people don't want to understand...', 'Frankly, I bore of having this conversation with adults', '[inspect early, avoid delays] There was a time when people understood what that meant.' I don't see how this is building a positive reputation by dropping passive aggressive comments on review responses. My negative review is for the awful way I was talked to over the phone (my initial reaction was to hang up after I stayed quiet -- then you went on to explain I would have to schedule early to get a spot on Thursday). If I was serious about getting my car in for scheduling, I would have made an appointment on the same phone call. However, I did not want to waste your time scheduling me in or my time to call back to cancel that appointment if another shop was able to take me that day. The next place I called right after that phone call were able to give me an inspection and oil change without any delays. It seems the majority of the reviews I've looked over either express 'good work' or 'hot temper / bad customer service'. I was trying to give my business to a small company instead of a corporate chain -- oh well. Apparently, another review customer was loyal for 7 years before reaching the same conclusion I did. Good day, sir.

Had a flat with a destroyed tire on a road trip. Walmart won t install only one tire on a 4WD, Firestone was very clear it would take a while and also didn t have a tire. Blue ridge was kind and professional and was able to get a new tired installed within an hour so I could continue my trip. Highly recommend them!!

I always try to give my business to local businesses but my experience today will keep me from ever returning to Blue Ridge Tire. When I arrived for an inspection of my car, no-one was wearing a mask. So I told them I would not be staying for my appointment. A call from the owner turned into a lecture about how everyone doesn't share the same beliefs as me. Thanks for that enlightening fact!

While visiting family, my car tire decided to have a sharp encounter with a screw. Blue Ridge Tire was able to readily fix my tire, even though they were quite booked for the day. Everyone I encountered was quite professional also. Thank you for saving the day!

Called looking for a used tire to get me by for my business vehicle till I had time to change all 4. Spoke with a guy named Kenny who came off as rude and disrespectful. Felt the need to describe how most clients aren t that smart to know tire sizes. Anyways, tried to sell me a new tire and while I was thinking about just getting two new, a client came into their store and he was really quick to rudely say, Are you gonna buy this tire or not! I have a client that just walked in! Pretty much hung the phone up on me. I have heard nothing but unprofessional business ethics from multiple other small businesses I do work for. I won t ever have anything to do with this place even if they sold tires for $20 a piece.

Was travelling from NY and after a lot of driving on gravel roads, got a pretty big rock stuck in one of the tires. 4 big name shops around the university turned me down and did not want to patch up or sell me new tires because they weren't "standard" tires. Kenny had me back on the road within couple of hours. A+ guy and A+ crew. Great prices compared to what I usually pay. This shop honestly saved the day and the 2000 mile roadtrip.

Have been myself and have friends that I have referred to Blue Ridge Tire for years, but I lost all respect for this business this evening. I'm not sure if management has changed or what has happened, but I have never been addressed so rudely on the phone by Kenny. Before I could even finish simply asking a question Kenny accused me of yelling and clearly wanted to dismiss me rather than help me. He never even told me if he had the tire size I needed. The gentleman that initially answered the phone was pleasant and was trying to assist me, but once Kenny took the call it was all downhill. I drove across town and had my new tires installed within 30 minutes. Needless to say I will not return to Blue Ridge Tire nor recommend to friends in the future. Sorry to see a local business go downhill like it has.

Decent place to get work done. They did a decent job on small things such as state inspections and oil changes. However, they can be a little pricey when it comes to their other services, and their tires. They do great work, but I've found cheaper places in the area that do just as good. If you decide to use them, bring a drink, a book, and a pillow; their waiting area is tiny and uncomfortable with not much to keep you occupied while you wait.

I bought 4 tires from Kenny in October, 2020, BF Goodrich Advantage TA sport 94, for my Toyota Avalon. After just 3 MONTHS and 10,767 miles both front tires wore down to the wires and one went flat while I was driving. They are completely trashed with almost 60,000 miles left on the warranty. UPSET of course, as I could have been injured, I brought in the tire to show him since my car was not usable, and he blamed me for not rotating the tires every 5,000 miles. I have had that car 7 years and put on new tires every year and NEVER had a problem with tires like that!!!! He didn't even offer to call BF Goodrich and try to get replacements under the warranty.DO NOT GO THERE. GO somewhere that they will help fix the problem of defective tires, not blame you for missing one rotation! My trusted tire store/auto shop is helping solve the problem and called BF Goodrich for me!-Tom

Blue Ridge does what they do very well. They are a small shop, locally owned, and typically busy. would recommend Blueridge to family and friends with no reservation.I have bought tires, had alignments and had several repairs done here over the last 6-8 years. They are sticklers for inspections, but by no means dishonest. They take it seriously. When I want my wife's and my daughter's cars inspected, I take them here because I know they will be thorough and honest. When I knew my car wouldn't pass a fair inspection a few years ago, I took it to someone who was more lenient (then it broke down and I had to get it fixed anyway)! Bottom line is that I believe that Kenny and the others have a high degree of integrity, and very little, if any, slick salesmanship. They are very honest when explaining problems and options for possible solutions. I

Outstanding service! Kenny is very knowledgable, technical & thorough! I have never had a shop care so much about making sure the tiniest specification was on point so that everything was right & safe for my family. Plus they were faster than any shop ever. I had blown a tire and desperately needed a set of 4 to get to Richmond that evening for a crucial business meeting. They were the only shop in town that had my very rare sized tires 235/35 in front offset with 255/35 in the rear in stock. I won't go anywhere else. I called them at 3:45, Margie said she would squeeze me in, I got there at 4:00 & was on my way right on time by 4:45. It seems that many of the negative reviews were related to people angry about failing an inspection but rather than giving a negative review, just take responsibility that your car was not safe enough or legal enough to pass the state requirements, so fix it! I love this place!
