When shopping for auto parts, I generally go to Advance for my needs. Howeve, this was the best experience I have had with Advance Auto. I am from out of town and was driving through Gordonsville on my way to my parents when the light for my alternator came on. Scott was able to help me diagnose that my alternator was bad and it needed to be replaced. He hooked me up with a mobile mechanic who replaced the alternator in the parking lot as well as stayed past his shift to make sure my family and I were taken care of and helped replaced the alternator. Highly recommend this Advance. Thank you again Scott.

This Advance Auto at Zions Crossroads is top notch. Extremely friendly and very customer service driven. My niece needed a battery and they checked the one she had, determined it was in fact the battery. The gentleman had the old one out and the new one installed in under 20 minutes so my niece could make it to work.Highly recommend this store to anyone!

Update 11/19/23Well, O'Reilly across the street screwed me this time on a simple air filter, but this Advance store had the filter and had a good staffing situation on a Sunday around noon. I did not have to wait to pick up my order...my main complaint about this store in the past. I had no choice but to try them again because of what O'Reilly did to me, but now Advance is back on my list for buying parts again. I hope this most recent experience continues in the future.Last update:My previous review still applies but they pushed me in to the arms of O'Reilly Auto across the road yesterday. I simply had a question about a couple of lawn tractor batteries and was put on hold for 10 minutes. At least thats when I hung up, who knows how long, if ever I would have waited for what would have taken someone less than a minute to answer. O'Reilly answered the phone and helped me immediately. Maybe it was just the timing.Good employees are hard to find, and maybe thats the issue, but not having solid staffing numbers for the weekends, when customers need them the most, really irritates me. Customers are often in the middle of their weekend project when they need the auto parts store. Waiting painfully long for help or in a line is the last thing that customer needs. These places really need to separate their counter service so they have someone to answer phones, another to manage the off the shelf walk-in customers and a separate counter(s) for people coming in with an old rusty part scratching their head looking for help. A customer shouldn't have to wait behind that if all they want is some oil and a filter.Again, I've never had a problem with the staff here once I do get some help, and hey, when everyone else is at work during the week the wait is not usually as bad if you have the luxury to be able to do that.Original review:Usually a solid experience. I prefer to order online when possible because the store is claustrophobically small. Hard to stand back far enough in the aisles to get a good view of the merchandise in panorama. And there is not much room for a line at the counter, so its up to the customer's politeness to determine who should be served next. The folks working there are usually very helpful. The only problem is, when they get busy, they have no choice but to be myopic. It's one customer at a time and some customers come in there with a life's story like rebuilding a classic car and they can take a half hour at the counter with the tech. If I see more than a couple people waiting, I know it could be a few minutes, or a major time commitment. That's the fault of the design of the system, not the techs. If I order online, I shouldn't have to wait behind people who didn't, to get my order. And sometimes my order isn't even picked yet. I might as well have just gone to the store and stood in line and asked the techs to pull what I wanted from the shelves. The system could use improvement. The people there are usually very helpful though, best they can.It is great to have a place nearby that I or my wife can go to get stuff like wiper blades and batteries replaced. I can do that stuff, but it sure is convenient to have them do it for me. I can order wipers online and just have my wife go there and get them installed...makes my life easier. They also accept used engine oil. This makes me prefer to buy my oil change supplies from them. Making recycling easy means less people are pouring their oil out somewhere on the ground.

Very helpful staff except for one knucklehead employee (maybe manager?) that was purposefully squalling tires in a red pickup truck out in the parking lot.

Stopped in today to get a couple of small items. 3 people behind the counter. I found 1 item and was standing there waiting for some help yo get some thread sealer tape. One guy just walking around doing nothing, one guy looking on a computer, no one else at the counter. After a couple of minutes of no one just asking if I needed anything, I just put the item back on the shelf and left. Just typical gat lazy people. Though I was padding through east KY again. Just poor customer service and no one was in any hurry to do anything. I'll shop at a place that's got competent people from now on.

Mixed experience depending on what you need. When I had to replace my battery, they had the best price but I took it home and swapped the batteries myself. When I wasn t home and my wife needed a new battery, I called to check prices and even though Advance Auto Parts advertises swapping the battery for you, over the phone it was obvious they were put off when I verified that and I was given several excuses why they may not be able to swap it for her. Across the street, she was in and out in 10 minutes.

Advance has slowly lost its luster since it's Inception. More likely than not its because of a shortage in staffing, which is happening in nearly every industry. Prices are still comparable, the wait is just a bit frustrating at times.

These guys are good! My rv towed Jeep's battery died. I couldn't figure how to get it out in a rain storm at night. The next day I went to the guys in Zion Crossroads and not only did they have a great battery at a good price I was totally surprised that he just went right out, took out the battery (plus he had the right tools) and replaced it with my new battery. 15 minutes max. I am a customer for life now! Great service. Keep it up!

if you want to be surrounded by the trashiest people you ll ever meet, come to this advanced auto. we came at around 7pm and we re the only customers in the store. i guess they thought that gave them free reign to talk about whatever they want because the employees were cussing and talking about completely inappropriate things like s*x and abortion. in particular an older woman with purple hair and a middle aged man with dark facial hair dropping F bombs like it s nothing. completely uncalled for. there was one young man who seemed decent, but the rest of the employees were a brood of rude and vulgar people. do better advanced.

Had a 12.00 belt that I never opened or needed. Honestly needed the 12.00 at the time or I wouldn't of bothered..but the woman at zions crossroads told me after 45 days I can get merchant card for that amount. The receipt never states the policy of returns for in store purchase and as many years as I've used this store alone I never had someone so picky over 12.00 when I had a valid case. They didn't even have a card she stated to even give me the merchant credit to begin with. Well I advise to print the policy on receipt because i had the receipt for the belt and card purchased at the time of sale but was never opened....think your local loyal customers should let slide once in awhile with ID or something. It was a dire emergency and was let down. Think I'm going to check out O'Reillys...

I had to do it. I lowered my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. I stopped to purchase a rear window wiper blade but didn't buy it because there were 2 people in front of me waiting and not a customer service employee in sight. I got out of line to look for the wiper blades but I wasn't sure which to buy. When I walked back to get in line, there was another person waiting so I just kept on walking out the door. And so did that last person who got in line. Sorry guys! One good thing I noticed as I was leaving, one employee did show up at the desk to help someone.

We had a very nice sales person; he offered wiper installation. Got the parts and other items we needed, and were on our way. Store was clean, well organized and clearly labeled.

Was a little disappointed in this location. I called to see if they had a battery in stock, which the lady told me they did, I asked her if they could install it for me, and was told no they do not install batteries due to it takes 30 mins to install. I ve been to this location before and they have installed batteries for me. This was new news to me. So I had to drive to charlottesville to get a battery put in my car. I checked the website and in advance auto it says they do install car batteries. If it s staffing issues they couldn t do a battery I could completely understand but to say they don t install batteries because it takes 30 mins is nonsense. I went to autozone and they had the old battery out and new one in, in less then 10 mins. Kinda disappointed in this location.

Such a pleasant and positive experience. An auto shop that was too busy that day told me that AAP might be able to do a read on why my engine light is on. Sherry was very quick and helpful, and took care of that for me. Then I noticed the Free Battery Check poster in the window, so I asked for that. I did need a new battery, got great advice plus free installation by Phil. While in the store I was looking for a license plate frame, and Tayler helped me out and offered to install that too. All 3 employees were helpful and very pleasant. I was really impressed with the kind of services offered at the store, and the people working here make the store even better. I'm a very happy customer - thank you!

Barry and Ron(?) were both very helpful. Although they were busy and perhaps short handed, they found the time to check my battery and replace it for me. A company is only as good as the people who works for them. Advance Auto is lucky to have them. Great job Advance Auto! Thank you.

Went out of my way to stop in after work at about 8:40, the door was locked and there was no sign of life. Hours on the company website as well as Google both say open until 9pm. I could have stopped at Auto Zone closer to work but I waited because I prefer Advance Auto. Unfortunately I'll have to stop there after work since I can't be sure of this stores hours.Edit: review was replied to promptly, will update again if I get the chance to go back. With all of the signs on all of the businesses for covid, I could have totally missed one sheet in a wall of sheets.

I've only been here one time. My only experience is extremely positive though. I had what I suspected was a dead battery. After confirming they had a battery for my vehicle in stock, instead of just selling it to me, they confirmed my old battery was dead by doing a battery test and then removed my old one and installed a new one for me.

Had a battery issue and the website said they had the replacement in stock. Went in and they showed the same thing but could not find it, so they gave me an upgraded battery at a discount and had it installed in about 10 minutes. Great service!

Fantastic service! My Wife s car broke down about a mile away from the store at about 7:00 at night. She got a jump from a co worker and got the car to Advanced auto in Zions. They charged her battery over night. The next day I purchased the alternator ( which they diagnosed for me) they loaned me some of the tools I did not have and they gave me tips and help installing the new one! In this day and age of poor service and bad attitude, I am overwhelmed at the quick service and genuine customer care that I received. I believe I have found my auto parts store.

Very nice auto parts store. They always have what I need for my car repairs and their prices are better than reasonable. I also like the fact that they allow you to use tools to install something in the parking lot will they actually will come out and help you do it if they have time. Two thumbs up this is a great place for all your Automotive needs.

Went in with a battery problem. Barry came out quickly, diagnosed the problem -OE battery in a four year car! I had shopped online, so I knew which battery I needed. Installed right away with a great price. Excellent service, will definitely shop there again.

The guys in here were super nice and helpful. They didn't make me feel dumb because I didn't know a ton about my car. It was also late at night but they went above and beyond to help me.

The guy there was very helpful. He went as far as to call around to see if someone could fix our truck today, bc we have a reservation at a hotel in Kentucky. We would have lost the night we paid for... no cancellations allowed. He found someone who said they would get it done today... even though they had a couple of hours before closing. We had to buy a water pump & thermstat

I was on a road trip from Philly had to pick up engine oil , always friendly & helpful folks working in these stores . The gentleman being the counter actually came out front to give me piece of mind about my dash board indicator lights which are so numerous on new vehicles and confusing . Well anyway my cruise control light was inadvertently going(haven't used it yet) on when I was turning the key and we had a good laugh lol ...and I borrowed a funnel ,free of charge .

Very helpful staff installed a new battery in my car right there in the parking lot. Good selection and a fair price.

Some of the staff is kind of douchey, but friendly and helpful overall. They usually keep a decent supply of parts and will get them in quickly.

This 5 star review goes out to Phil at the Gordonsville, VA Advance Auto Parts store. Phil helped me find wheel bearings and wheel seals for a trailer and got me the parts the same day. I am thankful he was there to help as most of these parts had to be ordered from other stores and looked up in the catalog old school style. Phil did not give up on helping me find the right parts. Thank you Phil!
