Brought in my 2011 Chevy Suburban for annual inspection and Happy was the one who service my vehicle. He took me out and found some things underneath my vehicle he showed me and said he could fix it with a simple zip tie to save me $$$ then he was able to buff out my drivers side headlight and make it look close to new to match my left passenger side. He was very courteous and friendly! Happy will definitely take care of your needs! I recommend him wholeheartedly!

Came to replace thinning rear brake shoes. After the inspection, the guy on the phone said it would cost $574 and they would need to replace the pads and drums as well. I said no. When I got to the place to pick up my car, the report they gave me said the mechanic only recommended a rear brake shoe replacement. This procedure would cost $483. So the guy on the phone lied about the services the mechanic recommended to upcharge me. Nice! I won't be coming back. I found a good mechanic that will do it for $270. If you enjoy paying for unnecessarily costly mechanics and dishonest employees, this is your place. Also, the guy phone on the phone roped into paying $40 for a 'special' inspection when a standard, free inspection would have identified the problem. Great customer service.

I truly believe they are after a larger amount of money than just an inspection. They failed my vehicle for a safety inspection, and they wanted to charge me $800 to get it to pass. I brought my vehicle to another inspection spot, and they passed the vehicle and said it is in perfect condition. They then guessed where I had the vehicle inspected, as this appears to be a common theme with this location. This is certainly the final time I will have my vehicle inspected here, and please beware if you fail the safety inspection. They want more than an inspection.

I googled the closest tire place by my work and ended up here. As soon as I walked in, Lawrence took amazing care of me! He was friendly, polite, explained things well, and didn t treat me like I didn t know anything about cars. I only came to get my tire patched but he went over all the things on my car that could use some attention and explained each one to me. He took the time to answer all questions I had even though I wasn t going to be repairing those things here. And he made me laugh! Lawrence deserves a raise!! You re lucky to have him as an employee! I would recommend this place to anyone!

VA Tire & Auto in Gainesville does a great job with our cars. They don't try to oversell you and work with you on the best solution. We have been a customer for over 10 years and they are our "go to" for any issue and maintenance.

Rob at the Gainesville location is the most kind and caring customer service representative I have met at a auto shop. I couldn t afford all the repairs needed for my car inspection and he made it possible for me. He is a blessing ! He went above and beyond and I am so thankful ! I will recommend him to everyone and will not go anywhere else! Thank you so much Rob, you blessed me beyond anything !Nadine A

Don't do your safety inspections here. Stay away. They failed me because i had LED headlight bulbs. An LED is more energy efficient and lasts longer than halogen. But no, these guys are following silly laws than want you paying $200 every time a halogen bulb break.

Staff is super friendly! Mechanic 'Happy' is truly a life-saver quite literally. My lights were very yellow, he was able to go above and beyond the call of duty. He buffed the lights to perfection, making my headlights look good as new! Amazing! Please give this man a raise for his hard work!

Waited for 3 hours for them to place a tire on my truck even after having an appointment scheduled. They had patched my tire the day before. Took them 10 minutes to get the tire on. After waiting that amount of time. I could have done the work myself. Further inspection of the work and noticed now the edge of my rim is now dented and scratched. Just complete disappointment. I have sent an email.

My husband and I stopped by in mid-January to inquire about four new tires for one of our cars and had the pleasure of working with Zef. We had already done some shopping and knew what direction we were headed in for the purchase. Zef listened patiently and understood what we needed for this particular car. He did some brand comparisons and helped us determine what would be best. Zef was super friendly, professional, efficient, and very helpful. We got a great set of Continental tires at a competitive price and are very pleased with the courteous service that Zef and Virginia Tire and Auto in Gainesville, VA provided!! Thank you so much!!

Zef did a wonderful job this morning. I came on for my state inspection and new tires. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel pressured into any decisions. Thank you for your help! **We Are!**

We have been going to Virginia Tire for years. We like them because they are friendly and can usually fit us in quickly. They do price match and will have coupons posted on their website to save some money. They are not the lowest priced but their prices are fair. They have a nice lobby and are conveniently located near shops and restaurants if you want to roam around. They also have a courtesy shuttle.

Had to wait in line for 2 hours (normal for the time of day we went for emissions). The whole time we waited we saw Happy, who was working on emissions/inspections working so hard. He was moving efficiently to make sure the line was moving faster. He was great to speak with and had our car in and out. Even after the amount of work he was doing he was so nice and pleasant with us. The overall staff was great.

They misdiagnosed the problem and literally broke my vehicle which I drove to their Gainesville service center. I had to tow the vehicle to BMW dealership and they fixed everything in few hours. This place is poorly managed and they are ill trained. Stay away from this place and you will be able to save thousands by saving the lifetime of your vehicle Wanted to add an update: BMW called me yesterday evening and informed me that the protective engine cover was missing from the vehicle. So, I contacted your Gainesville location, and they acknowledged having it.I'm quite bewildered by the highly unprofessional behavior of your Gainesville manager. He failed to ensure that the vehicle was properly reassembled before returning it to us. It almost sounded as if they were trying to hide the fact that they hadn't replaced the protective cover, possibly to conceal their mistake. When I went to pick up the cover, I didn't receive an apology, but I didn't expect one from such unprofessional management either.

They inflate their labor costs to make extra profit i.e. quoted it would take 3 hours to do a job that two other places said only took 2 hours. When I shared this with them, they said they would match the price, but why would I give them the business when they started with a quote with inflated labor costs. They charge $150 an hour for labor. They are ripping people off. Also, this branch has a horrible policy of requesting deposits for jobs under $500, and requesting payment over the phone before a vehicle is picked up. Why would one prepay for services not yet rendered, especially when it's under $1,000, and why would a person pay over the phone rather than when they pick up their vehicle. All this being said, I suspect dishonest and poor management is the culprit, which means their culture has severely declined.

Avoid. DO NOT go here. They are dishonest and attempt to trick you into service when it's unneeded. Prices are absurdly high. Failed an inspection and quoted me repair costs 30% higher than everyone else. Took the car to two other shops and neither had an issue with inspection. There are many other places to take your business.

The service here has consistently been bad. Several times I have came here to get my tire checked and no one would even talk to me. I just left and went to a gas station nearby to get my tire plugged. I don't like to leave bad reviews on any business but maybe if an owner emailed me I can tell them what happened in the other issues I experienced.

I've waited a few weeks to calm down before posting this review. Let me be absolutely clear in this, I would not send my worst enemy to this place. The old trope of a woman going into an auto repair shop and being ignored/scammed/not taken seriously has never been truer in my life than when I made the mistake of entering this place. I had used VA Tire and Auto (Chantilly and Gainesville) before for inspections and not had issues. This time I was having engine ticking, HVAC not working and a check engine light. Aside from the asinine charges to investigate each item, I already knew why the check engine light was on. The man at the counter wasn't interested in hearing what I had to say. I had recently put larger tires on my Wrangler and the speedometer needs to be reset, I was assured by this "expert" who had read an article one time about that not being true so problem solved... The loaner car they promise is a joke. I was without my car for days, paid over $400 - mind you they didnt fix a single thing, and still no loaner car despite asking multiple times. The Best part about this place is the shuttle driver. He was splendid and I hope he finds a better place to work. I was quoted $4k to possibly fix the engine or $9k to replace it. A family friend fixed all 3 issues for $600 and I had my car back in a week. I couldn't even open the passenger door when I went to pick up my car because it was so close to the dumpster out back as seen in the picture. Again, this is probably the worst business in Gainesville and I recommend you run! Don't waste your time and money here

Long time Jiffy Lube customer but went here on Wednesday 7/19 to inquire about an Oil change due to the convenience of the location. Was told it would be about a 2 hour wait since I was walking in but I could schedule an appt for the following day at 10:30am if I wanted to come back. I told the employee helping me I had to be back on the road by noon due to work obligations and I was informed that would not be an issue with a 10:30am appointment. Arrived for my appointment at 10:15am the next day and was told when I checked in the wait time would be about 1 hour. By 11:30am my car had not left the parking lot so I retrieved my keys and left. If you value your time, go to Jiffy Lube.

4 hours wait for an oil change even with an appointment. It s not the first time I ve waited an excessive amount of time here, but it will be the last. Just an update that it actually took 4 hours 45 minutes to get my car. And then I was told it was due to my request for an inspection. But, that was a lie. I watched my car sit in the parking lot for 3 hours before they even bothered to take it back to start the oil change. I finally got it back and it was making a weird sound when I opened the door. Went back inside and they came out with me. Told me it was normal. Nope - after 7 years of owning the car and it has never made this sound. Well turns out they touched every single button in my car including turning my headlights from auto to on which then triggers the alarm. You know, an alarm to say hey your headlights are on, turn them off before your battery dies. You d think a mechanic would know that? But hey what do I know, I m just the one who was completely ignored when she recognized that something was different with her car.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Never go here. Just got an inspection had just got new tires and new breaks (at Walmart). They said I needed $800.00 in repairs to pass. So you get stuck with a rejection sticker or pay the $800.00.

Went in for s simple oil change, inspection, and emission. Had an appointment. Thought it would take up to an hour (wasn't told any different). Waited for 4 hours for it to be complete. No explanation on why the delay - nothing. This is the last time I'll take my vehicles into Virginia Tire and Auto.

Best aspect of this place is state inspections while you wait. But you have to get in line early. If there are more than four cars in line, which is usually the case, expect to wait over an hour. Other services are best scheduled. This place always has more business than it can handle, and customers are always frustrated with the wait. But the quality of the work is good. They will not repair your tire if punctured anywhere near the outer tread.

Arrived around 8:10 am for an 8:30 oil change appointment. When I got there, all three men working the front desk were either on the phone or not taking customers. Finally got checked in at 8:25, was told both oil change and emissions inspection would be done quickly. At 10:30, my boyfriend approached the front desk and asked for the holdup. They said they forgot it needed an emissions test too, it ll be ready in 10 minutes. Fast forward to 10:55 and we get called up to pay. The guy checking us out pulled up our paperwork, and then said he had to talk to someone, and disappeared to talk to the manager for 10 minutes. Never were we told what the issue on our receipt was or why we were forced to wait 10 minutes longer. Eventually he returned and we finally left at 11:05. 2 hours and 50 minutes for a scheduled appointment. Disappointed by this and the lack of communication from the staff.

After 11 years of taking 4-5 cars here for tires/oil changes and having spent over $8000 at this location, I will not be giving them any more business. The manager J. Wells not only did not price match as they claim due to the tire being a different model (which they put the wrong tire on), but he also refused to change the tire to the correct tire model. He valued approx $50-60 of tire model difference or $35 of tire change mount balance over my long standing business with the store, unfortunately for him- there are other shops.
