Shout out to Suzanna - A+ for patience with my questions regarding core charges. Not for the guy that was working the day before though who told me they don't charge core charges for businesses. Had to check my old receipts!And from what I understand after going through this experience is that I shouldn't expect a core charge refund if I just bring my battery (purchased from B+) back and don't intend on buying a new one. That should be explained up front!All in all, great store, always have what I need. Like buying local.

Wonderful store and services! Had my car battery charged here for free (!) after it died. Suzanna was wonderful and very helpful. We also use them at work for batteries, bulbs, and recycling. Lucky to have this business in our community.

Placed an order this morning online, and within minutes I recieved an email stating order is ready. So fast. Associates were so helpful and friendly, were quick to assist with carring my battery to my vehicle.

I had a great experience ordering and then activating a new replacement key fob for a Prius. Everyone is so helpful - I saw lots of great interactions while waiting for the job to be done. I would highly recommend this store for problems with batteries, phones, and much more! So glad I got to check out their great service!

Updated on Oct 25, 2023Since my original review, I have been back a few more times to get lawn mower batteries and most recently an Optima Yellow Top car battery. Same fair pricing. Same competent staff. That's why I keep coming back.-------------------I ordered and paid for 6 golf cart batteries online to get the 10% discount. Went there the next day to pick them up and the Batteries Plus people unloaded my old ones and put the new ones in my truck. Super easy. Another good thing is that Batteries plus prices their batteries like you aren't returning your old ones, so if you DO return your old batteries, they refund the core charge to you. But some other battery places will instead price their batteries like they are expecting you to turn the old batteries in, and then if you don't, they ADD the core charge to the list price of the battery. In other words, the Batteries Plus prices are actually cheaper than what they list. I see it as fair treatment at Batteries Plus, and kind of deceptive at places that use the other pricing method. Overall, the transaction went great, and I would buy there again. BTW, the batteries work great too.This is an update to my original review. I have been back to Batteries Plus several times since then and still give 5stars. Be sure to order online before pick-up to get 10 percent off.

All went well value and service exceeded expectations WITH ONE IMPORTANT EXCEPTION because they don t use Apple genuine parts the replacement battery is NOT recognizable by the latest versions of IOS and as a result you don t have the same battery manager functionality as you had before you are flying blind insofar as battery performance. Hopefully that s not an issue, but the FACT that BatteriesPlus was silent about this up front is IMO fundamentally dishonest and borderline fraudulent. So, no, I will NOT recommend them unconditionally. Buyer beware.

The first time I went to the Ch'ville batteries plus was to pick up 6 golf cart batteries. The owner brought them out and she loaded them into the back of my truck for me. I was impressed and I have been a loyal customer since then, and we always exchange a friendly hello. The customer service keeps me coming back.

The battery in my SE iPhone was at 80% telling me that I needed to get a new one. I have used Batteries Plus in Charlottesville for changing my ipad battery, as well as doing my watches. I was going on a cruise so I didn t want to be stuck in case the phone died. All my documents were in the phone. I made an appointment to have to battery change a week before I was leaving for the cruise. When I went in, the battery that fit my phone wasn t in stock. Suzanna, the manager, called every store in the area to see if she could find one. None of the Batteries Plus stores had the battery either. Suzanne searched and searched and finally found one in OHIO!! She had it shipped to her store and it arrived two days later. She called me to tell me the battery was in. When I went to the store she told me that she was taking $25 off the price. That was a nice surprise. I was just glad the battery got changed before my cruise. That was great customer service. Thank you Suzanna!

The customer service is always excellent in any of the Batteries Plus Bulbs stores. Also, they truly seem to have just about all batteries and bulbs you would ever need...and, if for some reason they don't have what you are looking for ( never been my experience), they would be happy to order it

BPB is one of the best shopping experiences in Charlottesville. If only all stores were so great. I go out of my way to make whatever purchases I can there because of the customer service, product quality, and willingness to work with me if things don't work out.

I have always experienced excellent, friendly service here. They had the car battery I needed in stock, and it was easy to purchase online. The installation at the store was quick and professional. In the past, I had gone there to buy a tractor battery. They tested it, said it was actually OK, and then charged it for free. Great honest service!

Helpful patient customer serivce willing to accomodate curbside for both drop off and pick up. Perfect job replacing battery in phone, and gave me instructions for initial use and charging to prolong life of the battery. Very professional customer service. We use this store for all battery and some bulb purchases and service, ie key fobs, phones, etc.

Let's face it batteries are not exciting but they are necessary. This location has an excellent knowledgeable staff. The manager was helping me with some large 6volt batteries. While I was waiting her staff unloaded my battery cores which weighed over 100 pounds each quickly, installed a watch battery, gave a quote about a cell phone repair and answered the phone twice!! I was only waiting 10 minutes, my point is this place is excellent. They have gadgets, flashlights, cell phone repair and of course every type of battery and bulb with the knowledge to back it up. I drove over 2 hours because they had a particular battery in stock and I would not hesitate to do it again!! Great store, Great Service.

B+ is the best for batteries, light bulbs, and phone accessories. There could be more for me there--if I spent a lot of time browsing--but I don't have to hang around waiting because the staff knows the stock and always understands what I need. When I go in for new bulbs and batteries, I take the used up ones for recycling. There's a small per-pound charge.

Marc was amazingly helpful when I came in to get my car key fob repaired. He and Suzanna and the rest of the team were friendly and professional and courteous and had me back on the road quickly. I could not recommend them more highly!

I had the best salesman I have had any where in a long time. I needed batteries for my handicap scooter and could find them no where else but you don't deliver to homes. This man made arrangements to deliver them to a business in town where my neighbor worked so I could get them. The salesman was so kind and polite to me and explained to me how to order them online. the delivery driver went out of his way also to deliver them to this business. Both of them deserve a big raise for being such exceptional employees.

I recently had a problem with the SIM card for my IPhone (user error). The folks there fixed it quickly, cheaply and courteously. My experiences at this store have all been positive. This one saved me time, money and aggravation. Highly recommend!

I walked in wanting to add a few more deep cycles to my battery generator we use for outdoor church. The associate greeted me as soon as i walked in the door loaded the batteries i needed and rang me up super fast. She tested them and everything in about 5 minutes. When I need hands on help with battery needs I get it here. And when I need to grab a few batteries super quick no hassle I get it here.

So, Susanna at the Emmet Street location is an angel of customer service. She saw me approaching the shop, met me at the door, and took my old car battery from my hands (not gonna lie-I was struggling). Then she sold me a new battery, at a good price, and got me out of the shop in less than 5 minutes, and she was so friendly the whole time. This is literally the kind of experience that turns a bad day into a good one.

Went in there with an fairly bad cracked 7 plus screen. Never had a phone repair before he told me straight up they had what I needed in stock, how long it would be and how much. I came back an hour and my phone looked brand new everyone was knowledgeable and nice! Will be coming back if I ever need a phone repair again. (Hopefully not tho)

Went online and found the battery I needed for my motorcycle. By the time I drove to the store it was ready. Tech was happy to check my old battery which I bought in for a core. Definitely bad. Friendly staff and good service. And they've always had the battery I need in stock.

We just left here and the service was phenomenal! We needed a new car battery and needed help putting it in. It was storming, so they couldn t do it outside and they don t have a bay. Instead of having us wait out the storm, Ian and Tyler cleared space in the storage space/area where they get their deliveries. They let us pull the car in and they replaced the car battery for us. Thank you, Ian and Tyler! You went above and beyond.

I ordered and paid online. The order was ready when I arrived at Batteries Plus Bulbs. When one item was not what I expected, it was easily taken off my bill and the items I thought I had ordered were selected and billed. It's the easiest and best way I know to get these items. The sales people are patient and helpful. It's at least a 5-star experience.
