I ve had my 53 since 2003, she was my daily driver for 8 years. I recently pulled her out of storage to get her back on the road & ran into a few things that were out of my expertise. I took her to Pete here at Pro-Speed Autoworks a local classic car/ hot rod shop to do the work. Man these guys are awesome, they adjusted my timing, replaced a freeze plug, diagnosed that my carburetor was shot, replaced it & dialed in the motor. The 302 is roaring just like she was 20 years ago - Thanks Kieth for bringing my girl back to life for me! You see this is more than a car to me, she s a part of the family. Pete & his team treated her great, they understood where I was coming from. Pete the owner even picked my son & I up so we wouldn t have to Uber to the shop. My son will be driving her in a couple years & we re making memories working on her together. The team at ProSpeed is Awesome, every single one of them are kind, knowledgeable and helpful. If you need some work done on your custom or classic car - this is the shop to go to. They eat, sleep & breathe hot rods, rat rods, muscle and classic cars!

Pete and team @prospeedautoworks were the best. We immediately learned about this team and the shop from both word of mouth and a quick Google search. It took I wanna say about nine months before we could get this baby in, but it was well worth the wait. Pete and his team put their heart and souls into each car they work on regardless of the project budget. It was clear from the start these guys are trusted and called on to work on projects in the 100s of thousands of dollars. THAT WAS NOT US. But, that did not matter and they went the extra mile to find creative solutions to meet our intent and budget. The biggest part we immediately needed was replacing the engine which was in really bad shape. Pete helped us research and ultimately install the new long block which fit our budget and still performs like a beast. We could not be happier with Pro-Speed and their work. Definitely recommend this shop as they are honest, up front, and diligent.

Honest, open communication. No hidden things . When things are fine and don t need to be repaired they say it, but when things are bad, they say it, too AND have a solution. Had my 88 Trans Am restored there and it runs like a new car. My new old Corvette will also receive maintenance by them. Also lot of examples of pro mods, resto mods. I am more than glad having found them.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I brought in my 68 mustang for a evaluation and plan of attack for upgrades and repair. The assessment was thorough, they gave me several options on how I wanted to proceed and zero pressure on what work I wanted to get done and when. The prices were fair for dealing with classic car restorations and their work was impeccable. Highly recommend them, and a huge shout out to Sean who kept me looped in on the progress and was always available to answer questions. I will be going back again to complete additional upgrades.

I dropped off my 1972 nova to pro-speed with the hopes they would assist me in my journey of revamping my car. It has taken 3 years including the year they had the car to undo everything they have done just to get the car to the point where I will have it back on the road this year. I happily paid them $20K+ and everything they touched had to be undone and the work done again by someone else. I was billed for fenders being rolled to accommodate a larger tire and that work was not done. I was billed for the installation of front brakes and rotors and the rotors were installed on the wrong sides of the car (right was on the left, left was on the right). I was charged over $1,000 for a coating to be sprayed in the interior of the car only to have that coating began to peel in sheets because the metal was not scuffed or sanded. I originally brought the car to pro-speed because they assured me they could handle installing a mini tub kit from DSE. I later found the large brace that was installed to support the floor and suspension parts was installed crooked and the tubs in the trunk are out of alignment by a full inch. I asked for the rear to be measured so that the wheels would tuck inside the fenders and the car ended up sitting almost 2 inches higher than the original stance. All and all I am terribly disappointed with the product that was returned to me. I happily paid whatever they asked (over $20K) and I am left with an even larger bill from another shop because I had to pay someone to undo what pro-speed did to my car and have someone else redo it. I also have a stack of useless parts that I cannot return and that have never been used. I cannot tell if they simply allowed employees with no experience learn on the fly with my Nova or if they simply do not care but I would NOT recommend ANYONE bring their car here for any serious work. Let me be clear, it has taken 2 years plus the year they had the car for me to unravel everything that was done poorly. Thank God for people like Dan Marrow formerly of AA speed and Jason Fore who were willing to take on this $20K+ box of issues and work with me to get everything corrected because it was not done right the first time.

This is my second five-star review for ProSpeed. I did a review on Yelp about seven months ago, and I m pleased to report another excellent experience with ProSpeed in repairing/improving my 66 Mustang coupe. They diagnosed and repaired a couple of front end issues. They found (!), installed and correctly balanced new styled steel wheels. And based on my cranky and exacting instructions, they located, bought, balanced and installed radial tires that are lookalikes to the bias ply tires I was using. A couple of examples of their attention to detail: Since COVID, Mustang ss wheels have been impossible to find. 12-18 month waits are typical. Knowing I was coming, they started looking 2-3 weeks ahead, alerted me when they found em on ebay so I could buy them before they got my car. (Thanks Chris!). They ordered new front suspension parts and when they noted the parts weren t correctly finished (paint color wrong), returned them for correctly finished parts. And they fixed a leak that had developed over 8 months after an initial repair, under warranty with no discussion and at no charge. Repairing old cars takes time and care, and these folks provide it. I have worried a lot in the past about how/who can keep my car in the original and operational condition I want. ProSpeed does that. Along with care and skill, they deliver peace of mind.

These guys are simply amazing. Brought my '69 Camaro back to life. Multiple drivetrain issues. They care about their work and it shows. I won't trust any of my cars to any other shop, period.

I'd like to thank Pete, Jennifer, George, DJ and the entire Pro Speed team for the amazing work they have done on my 1971 Roadrunner. They have made my RR a sweet driving machine. They replaced the transmission, put a QA1 suspension on, added front disc brakes, fixed a ton of small issues and installed a custom A/C unit that is super cool (pun intended). Pete and his team are very customer focused, fairly priced and the work they do is impeccable. DJ is a wizard at the custom work that he did installing the AC. I highly recommend Pro Speed if you have a classic or custom car that needs some help.

February 2023 I took my 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T to have a steering box replaced. The car had sat for Three years so fuel system was shot.Pete kept me updated along the way and never pressured me to do anything. Since I.had a true R/T I wanted it right. Upgraded rear end from 323 to 377, replaced entire fuel system, replaced steering box, got rid of faulty Elderbrock carb replaced with 750 double pumper, Pete had car running pretty good. On his last test drive he discovered a bad intake gadget. During replacement we found several bad lifters and a wiped cam. Replaced Csm with high lift Roller cam, while we were at it we put a set of ceramic headers on her and Trick Flow heads. Then we decided to add a high volume Water Pump and Oil Pump. With all the work Pete and his team did it was installed with a very high level of detail. We finished it off with a Retrosound Radio. If you have a classic that needs some attention you have to go talk to Pete. He runs a first class operation with a lot of talent in the shop to do anything you need. From a total build to a silicon detail he should be your only consideration.Ask Pete for my contact information if you want to verify this review.Paul Mella

Pro Speed has been great to work with from day 1. Pete took the time to meet with me and talk about my project, 74 corvette, and I can't say enough about the customer service and overall atmosphere at this shop.Bryan has been working on my car mainly there and he takes the time to work with me and find good solutions to achieve my goals. He has been great to work with.I keep going back as they do quality work and I trust them to deliver on what we agreed on.If you have a classic car and need a good shop I highly recommend these guys.

For both personal and business purposes, I have worked with Pro-Speed for a number of years for repairs of several vehicles. I have always had an excellent experience from all standpoints, even with the most challenging of situations. In particular, Pete and the staff have been able to identify and correct the complicated issues that my 1970 GTO have presented, and in all cases, they have shown great customer service, fairness in pricing, and solid communication. I highly recommend Pro-Speed for its quality work and most importantly, for its trustworthiness in all aspects of the business.

Pete and his crew did an excellent job on my 72 Chevy C20. I recently bought the truck knowing the wiring needed to be redone and they were able to fix it perfectly. I also had them fix a few issues that I just didn t have the time to deal with. Pete was up front on prices and issues with my truck giving me several options to save money while getting a quality job done. I would highly recommend using their services, I m already scheduling a time for vintage air install.

I had my 66 Tempest in for some work and the team went over the car and made recommendations on what I needed. Travis and Jeff kept me updated with any other issues I might need to address and even did a few things at or no cost at all. Overall awesome experience and everything was completed in a timely manner. I couldn t be happier and will definitely recommend them to any of my car guys. Thanks again

****Update 8/14/2023****Since my initial review 5 years ago, I have taken my 67 Mustang back to Pro-Speed many times. And each time they hit it out of the park! Their knowledge and professionalism are second to none.New work that they have done since my initial meeting with them:Wiring Harness347 Stroker Crate EngineWildwood Disks all aroundEdelbrock Pro-Flo EFIEach and every time, Pete and his guys explain in detail about each installation, what to expect, what to look out for etc. There are no "Assumption of Expectations". They lay it all out in front of you beforehand. My car went from a tired, old cruiser to a 100% street sleeper!Looking forward to the upgrades I have for her in the future--which I have already gone over with Pete.I trust my car to no other speed shop.****************************************************************I have been having issues with my 67 Mustang since I got her. I thought I knew what needed to be done, but that was way out of my field of knowledge. I looked up a pro shop to take her to and found Pro-Speed Autoworks.Thank God I did!!Called them like 3PM on a Friday thinking I'll leave a message and talk on Monday. Pete called me back later on Friday. That exemplifies the work ethic at his shop.We talked for like 45 minutes on what the issues are, what I want done, and what I expect. He wanted me to bring her in so he can look her over and get a good understanding of what is what. He called me back and gave me his professional take on whats going on and his suggestions on how to fix them. At no point did I feel pressured into doing or buying anything. He gave me an estimate and I cherry picked what I wanted done. Of course, I would email or call him around once a week to keep adding to the work order and Pete kept up with all my requested changes with a smile. In summary, I had an modern suspension, exhaust, and steering installed as well as "a few" other things, approx 20 other upgrades. As with working on classics and adding modern components, there were a few minor hiccups. Pete talked me through them and gave me options on how to get them fixed. Again, I felt no pressure at all and I felt confident in my decisions after listening to Pete's take.I just picked her up this past Sat 3/31. She handles better than my 2011 GT/CS. She hugs the road and I can definitely tell she is breathing better. I just gave him my my build list for my 2011 to start upgrading her.If you are looking for a shop that you can trust to bring your baby to, look no farther than Pro-Speed Autoworks. Pete is one of the most professional people I have met in the business and his techs are top notch and know their stuff!!

I've been taking my 1970 Chevy Nova consistently to Pro-Speed since August of 2018. Pete and his team On 9/21/2018, not only addressed a host of issues with my Nova, including (a bad starter, damaged flywheel, electrical issues, etc) but explained everything along the way so I was an informed customer. They even were able to locate and fix a potential safety issue with a starter that not only saved me tons of money but potentially my life. From the beginning of my appointment until the end of the work this time around, I felt that I had picked the right place and had become part of the Pro-Speed family.

I definitely would recommend. I needed them to install brake calipers and a body kit. Pete worked with me to give me an honest and fair quote (ended up being under quote). They were flexible with my schedule and when the parts weren t up to their standards, they refused to install instead of using the faulty parts. A few parts also had minor shipping damage and they touched it up before install. Great attention to detail and they really go above and beyond in taking care of your car. I will never need another body shop.

Called and spoke to a gentlemen (Brian) about a potential job on a newer model vehicle and although they were not able to assist me on this particular project he referred me to another great local company. This was only after he spent 20 minutes with me on the phone discussing the job with me and why they were no able to assist with this type of project I had. There customer service even when they cannot do a project for you is above and beyond!!! I appreciated his time, conversation and expert opinion on where I should try calling. If I ever have a project that is in their wheel house it will be the first place that I call!

I was looking for someone I could trust with my '74 Bronco for restoration and customization. After searching around and calling multiple places, I found Pro-Speed. After the work they've done for me, I can tell you that - these guys will not let you down! You're leaving your car/truck with guys that simply love what they do and take an extreme amount of pride in their work.Pete and his team were incredibly thorough, they did each element of the restoration & repairs with a focus on the tiniest details. Where other shops might consider something "good enough", Pete seemed to settle for nothing but the best. He was personable and communicative and once you talk to him, you can just trust that he's doing the best job anyone could and for as good of a rate as you'll find.Take it for what it's worth but coming from someone with a very very high threshold for "quality", they are the most recommended restoration/auto shop in the NoVa area. I've done the searching, I've done the asking...there's nobody better.

Best shop I have been to in a long time. Had leveling kit front and rear along with exhaust kit installed and these guys went above and beyond. Out of town for work and they kept an eye on my truck for two weeks. What shop does that? These guys. Price was dead on and install was perfect. Definitely use again. These guys were professional friendly and experts at what they do.

I called about a newer Camaro...and Jessica informed me that you guys specialize in real classic cars and may not be a good fit for my supercharger diagnosis on a 2020 S/CLT. She very professionally referred me to a shop that you have a good relationship with. I was very impressed with her friendly demeanor and I am grateful for th referral. If I find a 72 Chevelle SS with a 396 and a 4 speed survivor you are the first shop I will call. I found you through Edelbrock as an approved shop. Congrats on your 4.8 stars. - Chris

I inherited my dads mustang a few months ago and was sent paperwork on the places that worked on the 66 mustang. This place did labor on the mustang 2 years ago and overcharged my dad for labor and charged him for things that were not replaced. The back wheel cylinder was not replaced but he was charged. The labor is ridiculously expensive. This is fraudulent charges. For my dad to pay $13,000 the mustang should ride like new...but it has many problems that were not fixed. I would not recommend this place at all. I took it to my mechanic here in Missouri and got it fixed for less that 1/4th the price.

Pro Speed performed some performance upgrades on my SBC 383 (head swap, roller rockers, performance radiator, electric fan, high capacity water pump) along with a cut and buff to my paint job. I'm extremely happy with everything they did. The engine is a beast and the paint is like glass! The staff was great. Willing to take the time to explain everything in a friendly way and just as excited about hot rods as I am!

Great staff, great work and great price!I happened to see the beautiful old school Chevy truck sitting out front of the shop and stopped by to ask some questions about getting work done on my 2018 Camaro. I was contacted back by the owner and setup a date to bring my car in for a discussion and estimate. I was quoted a fair price and scheduled an appointment. When the work was completed, I was on a business trip and received an email with photos. It made my day! When I picked up my Camaro and saw it in person....it looked even better than the photos and the final price was lower than the estimate....bonus!I found my autoshop!!!Regards,Ike Burgman

I have mixed feelings about this shop.I brought my car to them because I was encountering an intermittent engine problem which caused the motor to run poorly sporadicly. On one hand, I enjoyed talking with a number of their employees and their shop looks first class - clean, professionally organized, and full of cool vintage cars. If you visit this establishment, it's worth taking a look at the shop area. But on the other hand, you need to have deep pockets to take your ride to this place. A few examples: 1) To replace eight spark plugs, the cost was $157.75. This should have been a fairly straight forward task on a 351 Cleveland motor that shouldn't have taken more than 30 - 35 minutes to perform. I have a bad back and it only takes me 30 minutes. I think $6 a plug was a bit pricey too. 2) Oil change - $146.82. Wow. I think the last time I checked, I could buy online a case (6) of Valvoline VR1 10w30 for about $39. My 73 Mach uses 5 quarts and I can change the oil in 15 minutes. 3) Install new carb. The carb was just a standard Holley 600CFM....nothing fancy. The carb itself cost $350.90. Add in linkage bushing set, mounting casket, fuel filter (I told them that I had replaced this before bringing it in), and labor installation, the cost came to $847. 4) Pick up vehicle - The first time I was told that the vehicle was fixed, I picked it up and drove home. It ran fine for about 5 miles and then started to act up. I wasn't sure if I could drive it back to the shop so I called them when I got home and they sent a couple of mechanics to check it out....they were able to drive it back to the shop. The price for this service was $110. I'm not sure that I should have been charged a 'pick up' charge since the car wasn't fixed. As I stated above, I liked the folks at this establishment and was impressed by what I saw in their shop. However, the bottom line is that I spent close to $3,000 and they didn't fix the intermittent engine problem.

I had two trucks done at this shop. Tires, rims, shocks, and lifts kits. Excellent service, customer relations are great, good quality work and followup. Creative solutions and no hidden agendas very up front and reasonable with cost. Highly recommend these guys.

I chose this shop to weld a stifflers chassis stiffing system to my 2003 Mustang GT.This was the right chioce. Pete and him team took the time to do a detailed estimate. They were able to explain everything that needed to be done in detail and also. The work they did was top notch and prices are fair. GREAT choice for any work you need done.
