Dishonest....how does a 100 dollar throw out bearing and 40 pilot bearing turn into a 2100 dollar repair? And this guy NEVER gave an estimate and shirked every time I asked for one. And had the nerve to tell me I needed a new transmission!!! (It was a stuck throughout bearing on shaft) Go to a different shop folks!!! Taken advantage of by a shop JUST because we broke down on the road. I guess compassion is truly dead.

Will not warranty there work... took them a transmission and had it rebuilt ... put trans back in truck and it lasted all of 3 hrs... took the trans back said pump was cracked and they didn't notice the first time .. still charged for repairs.. put trans back in truck and lasted a week and half no forward or reverse gears..called and said they won't warranty it cause they didn't take it out or put it in... but they rebuilt the trans.... horrible experience... definitely do not recommend at all... paid twice for a trans rebuild and trans is still not working..DO NOT GO HERE

Bruce is the man! His shop is excellent. He fixed my broke down truck in a few days and got me back on my way. He and his son were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Honest, hardworking, good communication, and a fair price. I am more than happy with the service I got and I am very thankful for Bruce. No one likes to breakdown 6 hours from home but I really do feel like I broke down in the best possible place. Nothing but good things to say about my experience.

Do not take your transmission there they take your money and put used parts in your transmission and charge you for new parts wasted 5,000$ here would not recommend taking anything here

Transmission broke while going to vacation 2.5 hrs from home in Ashland, VA. Performance Transmission gave me the lowest bid to rebuild the transmission. Once into the job, they called to tell me I needed $300 more in parts. Once job was done, transmission shuttered at 30-40 mph. Turned around after 15 minutes of driving home and asked they fix it. I week later they said it was ready. I drove back and picked up van. It still had same issue. Returned a week later and asked them to fix it again. They said they changed a valve but never found an issue. Drove to shop and picked up van again, same issue. They were just playing a waiting game for me to tire out. I never got any paperwork indicating and warranty work was done. I took it to my local mechanic. He didn't even have to drive the car and described the shutter perfectly. He said, he knows how these guys do. They low ball you and then hit you up for $300 in more parts once they get the car apart. I did finally get tired of driving back and forth and am living with the torque converter shutter. I won't ever trust this company again! Beware!

Find another shop. Had transmission rebuilt here and 25,000 miles later reverse does not work. Called to inquire on what could be done and of course warranty has expired from time but it was stated that the metal just isnt as strong as it used to be...UHHHH ok or maybe another shop that does quality rebuilds might use stronger metal. No concern was show or discount on labor to fix what obviously was not done well at the beginning.

Great service !!! every time I take my vehicle there its a great experience . Whether its my 56 Ford wagon or one of our newer cars . Fair pricing and quick turn around . Honest shop !!! highly recommended !!

Extremely overpriced for the work they claim to do. Had to take my car back twice for rear end noise and exhaust tips that they struggled to line up on two different occasions.

Peaks racing team,,,,we've used Bruce at performance transmission for 15 years or more,in our mega truck (capn crunch) our sanddrag car (sandthing) he stands behind what he does,sometimes you find yourself in a bind to make a race and Bruce (performance transmission) will do his best to make it happen..we tried another shop once and we'll never do that again......thanks Bruce for all the help.....
