I drive an older Civic and have been struggling to find a part for months... 50 minutes after walking in and they tell me they could order the part and attach it in less than 3 days for a fairly tidy sum making this my new favorite location to get my car fixed!No nonsense, no fluff, and no games... Always wanted to get a dependable car especially for an older piece and I think I've finally found one!

I ve never had an issue with the work performed on my car by Nielsen s but I ve experienced that their prices are higher than the prices charged at the new car dealer and like the dealers they recommend a lot of additional maintenance.

I always trust my Volvo is in great hands at Bob Nielson s. The staff is always very responsive and can usually work in short notice work! Thank you for giving my car the TLC she deserves

First visit was great but not so much after that. They have failed to get the work done in the promised time two visits in a row. Both were scheduled appointments days in advance and both times they were unable to get the work done before the promised time. The first visit was an extra 3 days and the second time I went and picked my car up rather than waiting another couple of days.I will not be going back.

I brought my car to the Alexandria BMW dealer for a recall notice. Of course, when BMW got ahold of my car I received a laundry list of recommendations and 2 immediate fixes.I picked up my car and immediately brought my car to Alexandria Auto Care. Alexandria Auto Care kept my car for the day and performed an extensive diagnostic testing. Nothing came back for repair.I appreciate the fact that I have a garage in my neighborhood that I can trust. Thank you Alexandria Auto Care!!!I will be back if and when needed. Hopefully not too soon!!!

I very much appreciate this shop s attitude toward its customers. I brought in an older sedan for routine maintenance including tire rotation and a state inspection. It turns out my inspection had been done only a few months ago (I had forgotten) and the tires need to be replaced. Rather than charge me for a new sticker or to rotate bad tires, they kept me informed and were honest about their services. I will be back.

If I would have walked out of there fixing everything thing that was wrong it would have been almost 7k could have bought a new car at that point places is an insane rip off would not recommend at all! Price gouging to the max! They also lie and claim things are wrong with your car that are not like lights being out and saying I needed an oil change even though I got one 2 weeks prior and tried to sell me a 200$ synthetic oil change.

Expensive for an oil change and tire rotation even before the 12% hidden fee that was tacked onto the end of my bill to cover miscellaneous equipment. I've never seen this fee at other shops and it did not show up in the initial invoice, only when I was prompted to sign off on the listed services. I had an appointment for 10:30am and was told I would receive an estimate shortly afterwards and that the car would be ready in the mid-afternoon. I ended up calling at 4:30pm to check on the status at which point I was finally sent the estimated cost and told it would be ready soon. At this point they tried to get me to sign off on additional services that while my car was due for soon, it was 50% more expensive than nearby places would have charged.In general, it felt like I was being pushed to accept overpriced services and hidden fees right before they closed for the day. They did appear to decrease the cost of my oil change, tire rotation, and the miscellaneous fees by 10% after I asked about the high price. Even this they were not transparent about and there was no mention of the price difference as I checked out. Overall, I would not recommend or return to this business. The prices were significantly more than is typical even for the area. Additionally, rushing me to sign off on more maintenance and the hidden fees hours after I was expecting to pick up my car and shortly before closing is unacceptable. I'll be going elsewhere for the additional maintenance that was recommended.Service: General repairs & maintenance

As a car enthusiast, I knew I was bringing them a car with a very difficult-to-diagnose issue. The whole team did a wonderful job diagnosing the issue without performing any unnecessary work. They kept me apprised of the progress and finished the job quickly. The whole team was exceptionally friendly and professional. Great customer service and always a friendly experience. I don't feel misled or manipulated, even though I don't know much about car repairs. Needed to get a couple lights replaced after an inspection nearby so I swung by and found my go-to auto shop! Pat and Malcom replaced my lights quickly and even answered some questions I ve had about other parts of my car over the years. They fixed things and taught me things, all with patience and kindness. Top tier!

Can't say enough about Dion and the staff. My daughter was coming home from graduating college and stopped overnight in Alexandria at a nearby hotel. She and her boyfriend were going to finish the trip home the next morning. Upon checking out she was stopped in her tracks to find her car on crates and all tires and rims stolen from her Toyota Corolla. Being out of state was difficult and scary and not easy to get this car up off the ground. It was Dion that picked up the phone and helped my daughter. The crew that helped were kind, helpful ,and professional. I hope no one has to experience this but If you are ever in a bind , call Ben Neilsens. Take your car here for all your needs! We are so grateful for this service.

My car battery died this morning and I was able to drop off my car around 9 AM and by 1 PM, my battery was replaced and my car was ready for pick up! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Pete has saved my butt--and my car--countless times. Service is superb, rates are so reasonable. He wants your car to be fixed, not just perpetuate a cycle of issues with it, and he will always be honest with you. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Pete. He s the most honest and trustworthy mechanic I have ever had work on our 2007 BMW. He does excellent work at a fair price and you know if he does it it s done right. He won t try to sell you anything you don t need and he fixes the problem. He s the kinda mechanic that brings out the parts he fixed to show you what he did. It s rare in this day and age to find a guy like this. I m very thankful to have him close by and will be sad to leave one day and have to have someone else work on our car.

Fantastic service. We were in from out of town and Pete worked us in to change out the water pump (and a few other things) on our Jaguar that had decided to leak coolant. He explained everything and was very reasonably priced. He takes a pride in his work and does things the right way. I wish we lived closer so he could be our regular mechanic!

I have been bringing my European cars here for over 23yrs. Pete is a great guy and takes care of whatever ails your car. He is extremely knowledgeable about European cars. I have recommended him numerous times to both family and friends.

Pete is the best!! He is a great mechanic and reasonably priced. My vehicle is 13 years old...I go to there for everything...from maintenance to repairs. I want to get as many years, and miles, out of this vehicle as possible, and he helps keep my vehicle on the road and avoid my need to purchase a new vehicle.
