It is no longer a Shell Station. It is now a Sunoco Station. Very well run and managed. Nice face-lift of the premises and staff members are very friendly and helpful. Fixed the Ballast for the headlight on our Prius for $300 less than the Dealership Service Center.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. even for inspection. Vehicle was sabotaged by tech. told me my steering boot was ripped. they sprayed oil on the part and planted a DRY piece of plastic/road debris. there is no oil inside the steering boot on my truck. it is only a dust cover. if it was a true leak then the debris would have been coated in oil due to location. also ZERO way for the part to be jammed by the boot due to full coverage of a skid plate. clerk trying to explain the issue to me conveniently pulled the exact part that needed replaced. Part they targeted is potentially $700 not including labor if mechanic was so inclined. not worth my time to fight legally. ill throw a new boot on myself.probably making money hand over fist off gullible people in this area.damage diagnosis done by certified toyota master tech.

I have taken my cars to Belle Haven Shell for 18 years. They have terrific service, reasonable prices and I trust them implicitly to do a great job at a fair price. I recommend them without hesitation. The owners, who have owned the station for years, are very concerned with ensuring that your experience is good. And they are nice people as well.

I have gone to this station for service since 2004. Today, I had a nail in my tire. They were closing in 30 minutes but took me in and fixed it in 10 minutes. This is the only station that didn't tell me that I needed new rotors when I had to have my brake pads replaced several years ago. I would trust them with my car anytime. The also gave me the best price for tires too. This station is the only place I buy gas unless I am out of town. They are very nice folks. I highly recommend them.

This local Shell station does it all! I typically get my gas here, but I needed to get an oil change and my inspection done, so I made an appointment and was able to get it done on my schedule. Super friendly and helpful staff. They gave me a call to confirm that my car took the more expensive synthetic oil before doing the change-- very considerate. I'll go back again.

I have been here a few times in the last 4 years, and I can't say enough good things. I had a terrible experience with a Subaru dealer on route 1, and the mechanics at Belle Haven Shell helped me out. They are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. And they always take care of my issues with kind and courteous service.Thank you!

If you live in the Belle Haven area, this is absolutely where you should be getting your car serviced. It's also the place to get gas, if you like paying $.20/gallon less than the Exxon a few blocks away! The crew at Belle Haven Shell has taken great care of our cars for years, and they do it at a more than fair price.

New to the area and not use to getting my inspection done at a gas station but decided to give this place a try and I must say this was the BEST service I have ever had in my life. Everyone was super nice, and they way they do things makes for a quick and simple trip. I will most definitely be bringing my car back here. Thank you!!

They don t take appointments seriously. Two while I wait appointments for front pads and an oil change, respectively, and both times it was an hour after my appointed time that they even pulled the car into the bay. And both times there was further delay before work started. I would use a night drop if they simply said, We re too busy for appointments . I arrived early each time to have all my paperwork done by the start time, so it s not like I threw them for a loop.

I took my car here for scheduled maintenance, not realizing my inspection was over due. Instead of selling me additional services, the service manager recommended certain things from the inspection that needed to be done within a few months, but didn't push me to get it done before picking up my car. I really appreciate the honesty and integrity these guys have.

Good auto services at fair prices. I've been having my 1998 Toyota Camry repairs at Belle Haven Shell and have never been disappointed! Inspections are also performed on schedule. Real happy to have such a reliable auto shop close-by in the neighborhood !

I've regularly used the Shell team, led by Saif, to maintain my two cars since we moved to the neighborhood 15 years ago, and regularly recommend them to neighbors. They are honest, work hard and fast, and charge fair prices for everything from tires to major repairs. On at least two occasions, they talked me OUT of a repair I thought I needed by showing me that I had the diagnosis wrong. These guys are good eggs and know their stuff.-- John G., Alexandria

Belle Haven Shell has been my go-to for just about everything for the past 15+ years because of their honesty, competency and fair pricing. In addition to inspections and emission tests, they've done outstanding work with both minor and major repairs on my cars over the years.I appreciate that while they point out repairs or maintenance I'll soon need, they have never, ever been pushy or tried to up-sell me. I've recommended Belle Haven Shell to friends and neighbors who have later thanked me profusely for turning them on to their good, honest work!

Went here only once for state inspection/emissions test. It was near the end of the month incidentally, but I was there because I'm a new resident. The staff were friendly for the most part and seemed competent. $42 or so for both emissions and safety but they can't change the price. Wait time was a bit long but that's expected and every other place was booked so they were very accommodating.

I stopped by the Belle Haven Shell station this past Saturday night to get a cup of coffee. The station attendant/cashier had just turned off the coffee pot, so gave it to me on the house. This was a small, but incredibly kind gesture, that made my evening. The coffee was also quite good - cinnamon flavored, and did the trick to help me get caffeinated. Thank you!

I have always found the people at this station knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.. I have had only excellent service here and my car, though very old, has been kept in top shape. I would not have a problem recommending this station to anyone. In my experience, they have always been honest and have given me great service...with a smile.

It's hard to find a neighborhood repair shop you can trust. We really like all the people at Belle Haven Shell. Their prices are very reasonable and they are all great to work with. Highly recommend them.

Do not ever go for an inspection. They take advantage of people they assume do not know cars. I sent someone to get my car inspection and they said my fairly new tires needed to be changed. Scam artist. They will find problems where there are not to make money.

Took my car in to Belle Haven Shell for a state safety inspection. It failed because the car needed new brake pads all around and a headlight adjustment (it wasn't pointing straight). They quoted me $445 to make these repairs. Although this seemed a bit steep, I came back the next day to get the repairs done. However, they now said it would be $599 because the back brake rotors now apparently needed to be machined -- otherwise I was warned the brakes would squeak. I went somewhere else and had the pads replaced for $250. No machining of the back rotors done but amazingly, despite this, no squeaking. I took the car back the next day to Belle Haven to finish the inspection -- asked them to adjust the headlight as necessary. They then told me the pin that holds the headlight in its housing was bent and they would have to remove the entire head-light assembly to adjust the headlight -- which would have been a really labor intensive (and expensive) undertaking. I asked them to put the headlight back as it was and I would have someone else look at it. They gave me the car back with the headlight at issue unassembled. So in their parking lot I put the headlight back into its housing myself. Then I took my car to another place to have the safety inspection done over from the beginning (another $16). Wouldn't you know that it passed (including the headlight). Will never go back to Belle Haven Shell for anything.

Bell Haven Shell..... Absolutely the best in service! And in price! I have used Bell Haven Shell for years and continue to use and trust in them for all my gas and vehicle service needs!And you know...... The coffee has gotten a lot better over the years as well!!!

Unlike previous review, I *know* there is a rat, and he's unfortunately the manager.My car has been serviced and inspected there since the previous owner, as well as has my mom's car (well, no previous owner, but you know what I mean). This used to be the preferred place to go, until today, as you will soon learn why.I went in there to get my transmission flushed, but decided to get my oil changed as this was needed soon too. The mechanic, who I remember from a year ago when I got my inspection, and was helpful and friendly, told me to come back in an hour when the manager got there for whatever reason. I come back an hour later, another guy in a more formal shirt was there behind the counter, answering another person's questions. The other customer offered to let me ask what I needed (keep in mind, I'm in shorts and a teeshirt, slightly mopped hair because it's my day off, not really dressing to impress) and after I told him he started with telling me that it'll take "a long time." Well how long? "Three hours."I should mention that when I got back there were four cars waiting to be inspected that weren't there before, which were moderately new models and one newish model Mercedes. This was a line back to the entrance that is closest to where cars wait to be inspected. So in fairness, it got pretty busy.Back to the discussion, he asked me the model of my car, the year and how many miles. Camry, 1995, about 150,000. He said that there was a preferred process and that my car will need "special fluid" for this, and when I asked how much this would cost he said that it would be about $300.What he didn't and couldn't have known was that I had fairly recently dealt with the "special fluids" game, in the form that.. well I can't remember what it was right now but the process is supposed to be done every 100,000 miles and costs about $900. That I didn't have. I barely had $300 to spend on my car today. And what the mechanic in the other case didn't know was that I had records of my car's work, and that I had barely driven it because my commute to work is very short. These records, by the way, are from this Shell station. The point is, I didn't have to have that work done at all. At all. $900! So apparently lying is pretty lucrative to garages; enough so that they get away with it. Caveat emptor.The biggest difference between the two cases is that the guy took a look at my car for the $900 job. The manager at this Shell station didn't look at my car at all.So I clarified: "$300 and 3 hours, right?" "Yes." "Thank you." So I went to the nearest Jiffy Lube, they said $160 and about 20 minutes. They were less busy and had maybe 3-4 more staff, but if I were in the manager's shoes I would have at least noted the sudden line of cars and asked if I could come back. And I actually ended up spending close to $300 at Jiffy Lube for a highly recommended radiator fluid flush (per make and model recommendations, plus it's an old car but they didn't mention that), a new filter (the showed me the filter I had) and two light bulbs to replace the dead ones in one of my turn signals and a break light (both costing $10, they knocked off $10 to sweeten the deal). NO mention of "special transmission fluid".I'm taking the time to write this out because they lost a long-term customer today. It's very unlikely that the Mercedes that came in to be inspected will come back for a transmission flush, or certainly any other type of work, as I'll bet the fella has a deal with the dealership or knows a special Mercedes garage to *trust* his car. We're in a damn recession, for crying out loud. There are more strange noises I hear on the road around here than I remember from any other time. We don't need crooked garage managers making matters worse by unnecessarily up-selling at a 100% mark-up and insisting that it's required.Hope this helps.

I took my car here for its annual inspection yesterday (12/27/12) and was impressed with how quickly and efficiently the process took place. Luckily, there were no cars waiting ahead of me, which can add considerably to the time required. More importantly, however, they did not find any problems with my nine year old (2004) vehicle. I do not believe that they would ever intentionally break something or misrepresent the condition of an item for the sole purpose of getting you to buy that item from them. As my wife has noted, it is generally only people who have complaints who post reviews (which is why I am posting this review...to counter that notion). And I think it is telling that there is only one person who believes this was done here, despite the fact that they do many inspections every day. I have taken my car here before and have never had any problems, and expect that I will continue taking my car here for future inspections because they are located close to my house and, so far as I can tell, they are very honest and good people.
