Just picked up my truck from Transmission City after an issue with a speed sensor inside the transmission. I was very happy working with Rolf, I have a fair amount of driveway mechanic experience but knew this job was too big for me to do and Rolf was great at explaining the issues to me and helped me feel confident in the repairs. I think the pricing was completely fair for the work performed and the work was done in a reasonable timeline. I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle here for transmission work and while I hope to not need Transmission City anytime in the near future, I would return here if I did. Thank you to Rolf and all the techs that worked on my truck.

Great, efficient service. Rolf and Mark are terrific to work with. I had three transmission flushed, and fluid filter and gasket replaced on my daughter s 2011 Nissan Altima. I think they are thorough and do a good job respective to the get em in and out quick as you can serviced.

I wouldn t recommend. They did fix the issue but the communication was bad, they didn t check with me before proceeding with the repairs regarding the price and the guy operating it got mad because I called him twice throughout the day to check on the status of the vehicle.Also wonder if they overcharged me just to put a car pan back on.

Do not go here!!! Paid them to rebuild the transmission on my 97 gmc dually. Vehicle had 167K on it. They claimed that the rebuild would be better than new, good for 150k+ miles. Came with a 36 month/36K warranty. Was a vehicle I rarely drove and I only put 5K miles on it. About 5 years later the vehicle had 172K and the transmission would not go into final gear. I brought it in and they recommended a transmission rebuild! I said "Guess what- you rebuilt it 5K miles ago!" I don't think they realized that.Anyways, Rolf said it was out of warranty and they wouldn't do anything. We went around in circles and Rolf wouldn't do or cover anything. He told me to my face that he was fine with his rebuilt transmission that I paid thousands of dollars for only lasting 5k, and that it was 2 years out of his warranty.Now at 35k on their rebuilt transmission it has finally died. My current mechanic thinks that it was never rebuilt in first place judging by the exterior condition. He thinks they put in a used one. At best, Transmission City does not stand by their shoddy work. At worst, they are fraudulent and ripping people off. Do not waste your money here.

I had transmission city look over a classic car after an accident. Nothing ended up needing repair, but they did an amazing job digging into the potential issues and reporting back to me. Rolf was very personable and spent quite a bit of time talking me through details and sharing fun car stories. Don't take your vehicle here they did me dirty and now I have blown head gaskets bad water pump and bad starter but besides ..They should have had flushed my coolant system but left transmission fluid in it and said they don't do radiator flushes but will send to BIG O who does them flushes to do alignments in which all they had to say is can we send there to flush it like they asked me when alignment needed to be done.. if I could give ZERO STARS I would ..Filing a complaint to BBB also kuz they didn't try to help me they just wanted the $$$$$$ ..I would have more respect if they beat me up and robbed me rather than how this turned out BE CAREFUL!!!!

Wonderful experience!! We broke down during rush hour traffic and called Transmission City 15 minutes before they were supposed to close for the day. They were so so helpful and arranged a tow truck for us. They were able to identify the problem and repair it within a few days. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs automotive repair work done. Quick, professional, and affordable. We were very impressed by the service we received from Transmission City.

I needed to repair a Nissan factory defect that allowed coolant fluid to leak into the transmission.They were friendly and quick. It took about 3 days and around $4000 to rebuild the transmission.Just shy of 3 years later, my reverse begins to fail. I took it back to Transmission City. They warranty the transmission for 1 year, while most offer only 6 months. Even so, they recommended rebuilding the transmission again and gave me the best pricing. But with inflation it would be closer to $5K.I simply couldn't afford to do so. Even if I could, it's completely impractical to be rebuilding the transmissions every 3 years.Service: Transmission repair

Very Helpful and Honest!!!I was traveling through to the central part of the state. I was pulling a small 10ft enclosed trailer with my SUV. I noticed the "A/T Temp" the light on my instrument panel came on! I got off the freeway. I called and talked to Mark. I told him the situation, it was close to 5:00 in the afternoon, they close at 6:00 I was expecting him turn me away since it was so late in the afternoon, but he said that he would take a look at it. He checked the fluid level, scanned it with his scanner and even took the time to take it for a test drive. When he came back after the test drive, he said everything looked good! He then gave me some good advice on how to tow with a heaver load. I made it to my destination without any issues. I'm very grateful to Mark at Transmission City he could have easily told me that I had to buy or pay for something that is now apparently not needed. If I ever have the need for some transmission work, I wouldn't hesitate to take it to Transmission City after that experience! If there was 6 stars for the rating, I would give them 7 stars, I'm that impressed!!! Thank you!!!Service: Transmission

Transmission city is always leaving me satisfied with their customer service and quality of work. Rolf has made me a lifetime customer of these guys, and I ll never not recommend their services. From brakes to transmission work they ve got ya. :)

These guys were amazing. I had the furthest thing from a straight forward transmission repair. I spoke frequently with Cal, who was always so pleasant and apologetic, but I know there were a lot of people behind the scenes that were busting their butts for me. They took such good care of us during the process of trying to fix our lemon of a vehicle. They gave us a loaner vehicle at no charge (except paying for the gas we used). These guys worked for months on our car bringing in several experts including a ford representative. They always gave us an update. I never felt like I was totally in the dark with what was going on. The cherry on top was the fact that they spent thousands of hours and dollars fixing our transmission (which ultimately they were successful at) and never charged us an extra penny. They are incredibly honest and hardworking. I HIGHLY recommended them to anyone looking for someone to fix a transmission. Thanks to everyone at transmission city!!!!

Great Service!I don t write reviews often but I was stressed about getting my sons car fixed while he is away, because it s hard to find good mechanics these days. I took my son s truck to the dealer to replace a transmission and they wanted to charge me a little over $4000. That is a lot of money so, I did some research and out of all the places I looked, transmission city seemed very reputable. I gave it a try and took my son s truck there. They diagnosed his truck and gave me an estimate and a deadline of when the truck would be done. I was pleased with the experience. They charged what they told me it cost me be saving me hundreds of dollars and they were done the day they told me it would be done. I m so happy that the truck is fixed and running smooth again. I will definitely comeback If I have other issues with the truck.

I had my transmission rebuilt here less than a year ago and it has been nothing but a headache since. Every ~2 months a new issues with the transmission comes up and I have to take it back to the shop where the car sits for several weeks before they get it working again. This has happened 4 times in less than a year. Their work was completely unreliable and they don't want to give you the time of day when you come in for a warranty issue. I ended up having to sell my car at a loss (plus the price of the rebuild) because I wasn't comfortable leaving town with it. Take you car somewhere else.Service: Transmission

Reasonable price, excellent work! The transmission on my 2006 Pilot finally went out after 271,000 miles. Cal and his team of transmission specialists looked over my vehicle as a whole and said it was worth rebuilding the transmission. I'm glad I did! It runs great and I like their idea of a one-month check-up to ensure everything is going okay with the rebuilt transmission. Transmission City stands out with its quality mechanical service and its quality customer service! Recommend!

I had great service from these guys. My truck was having transmission problems. Transmission can be confusing, but these guys were honest, fast, and the owner is very friendly. The price was right were it needed to be for the work they did, and my truck is running great now. I would definitely go back there for any transmission problems.

Thought my transmission was going out. Transmission City diagnosed the problem very quickly even even though they were super busy. Turns out my motor mounts were broken. They could have told me it was my transmission and I would have believed them. Saved me thousands of dollars. Would recommend them just for their honesty. Car runs great now.

Called for a quote and was told my transmission filter cannot be replaced. It can, it's an inline filter under the hood, couldn't be simpler. (Two hose clips and one bolt hold it in place, no other disassembly required, thanks )Beyond the misinformation, the man I spoke to was pushy to get me in, before answering all my questions and smacked of boomer entitlement . Very off putting and felt scammy.Made it real easy for me to choose a different auto shop. I hope this review helps others steer clear of subpar customer service in a highly competitive industry.

I had my entire transmission replaced. They did a great job of explaining what it needed, and when it came down to it there were no surprises and it was right in the price range they'd quoted me. They even asked me to come back 39 days later for a check-up. Overall I'm extremely satisfied.

They were very kind to keep my car for a little while for me to arrange a salvage sale. However they were not open like I had asked about the likely cost of transmission repair for old my Mazda 626. If they had told me the minimum they knew it would cost up front (which they knew) then I wouldn't have bothered them at all in the first place. Ralph was very good to work with though.

I personally recommend them for do it yourself folks. I ordered a seal kit from them, price was fair. What was above and beyond was the professionalism, friendliness and willingness to provide tips on how to use the parts. Rolf gave me some very useful tips and offered to answer more questions for when I got around to tearing apart my transmission. Rolf provided that customer service aspect that you don't get from internet purchases, great character too!

Worked over my 2007 Ford F250 Diesel transfer case and front driveshaft and couldn't be happier with the work. Great guys, treated me fair. Great place to get any type of transmission, and drive line work. I do most of my own car repair, but did ask about what else they do and I'd be comfortable taking my vehicles there for any type work.

Transmission citty really did right by me. Worked with them over the period of 10 months due to part unavailability. They even tried putting a used part on with no charge to me. Once the part came in it was smooth sailing! Working with Rolf (hope that's the right spelling) was an absolute pleasure. One of the best I've worked with.

The entire reason we went to Transmission City was because the reviews were so good. They were not the cheapest by far!!($3980.00). Well This is my first negative review I have written but I wish I would of known. We took our 2011 suburban in there on a Tuesday to have the transmission done. They said it would be done no later than Friday and we would have it for the weekend. We rented a car and returned it Thursday night. Come to find out that they had not even started our car and we didn't even get it back until the following friday! To make it worse the transmission went out AGAIN 2 weeks later because they didn't do it right!! Here we are about a month later and it is still not right!! We are going back again!! Now days you have to have a car to run around and this is so inconvenient and especially for the amount we paid!! I also tried to put a review on their website but it won't allow me. They have all five star reviews but isn't it weird I can't put a negative review on the website?? How many other negative reviews are there??

Clutch burned out and had to have it replaced. They were able to get me in next day, get parts, and had it replaced the day after. Quick service, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will definitely return in the future. Thank you so much!
