Alta View Complete Car Care was so easy to work with! Kelton genuinely cared about my MINI Cooper's safety and walked me through the best options. I got my repairs done two days after my initial quote and saved $500 based on a quote from the dealership.

Disrespectful, dishonest, and a pretty shady experience. You should be skeptical.Adding something to this review to provide insight after receiving a response from the shop. I held off on providing details.. but let me share.I drove my Jeep 4.5 hours to come to your shop for an inspection. It drove perfectly the entire way and when I left it in your hands it was driving perfectly. 30 minutes later you tell me I failed this inspection, which is fine. What was not fine is my Jeep would not run when I went to leave. The brakes would not work and it would not idle. I went back inside and asked for some assistance and your staff swore up and down they did not tamper with anything mechanically. I asked for some help, because I was at a mechanic shop and your staff said they could do nothing but I would start with the vacuum system . I limped my vehicle across the street and hunted through the vacuum system and sure enough a hose had been blatantly removed. I put it back on and the vehicle again ran fine.Someone in your shop did this. I hope it was an innocent mistake and not a blatant move to prove some point to me. Luckily I was fairly mechanically inclined or I would be stranded 5 hours from home because of a mechanic shop.Your staff was rude from the start. They created a problem and that is a fact. Someone in your shop did this yet everyone was so quick to deny responsibility and offered zero assistance. Again, I am not upset you did not pass my vehicle. I am upset because of the dishonest interaction and the failure to provide any assistance to the problem that you created.

Long story short, they were incredibly helpful and were willing to show me exactly what was broken and go over what would be replaced and gave me an estimate. Very kind people and I will be coming back.Full disclosure, I haven t gotten anything fixed yet but just getting an estimate from them was a good experience. The Volkswagen dealership I bought my car from quoted me 3500 for a repair during an inspection and when I asked what the problem was no one could/would tell me. They only said that the whole shock needed to be replaced. I took it here to Alta View Complete Car Care and they took a very short time, especially when compared to the dealership, to tell me where the problem was and let me look under the car to see it. It was just a broken wire connector and some small non essential part was missing. They gave me what felt like a very reasonable estimate. Unfortunately the simple part from Volkswagen is not priced very fairly but I don t believe that is any fault of the shop.If I choose to get this repaired it will be here and any future repairs as well.

These guys are absolutely amazing. I have been taking my vehicles to them for a while now and I have been blown away by them every single time. Every employee is so experienced and explains everything to where you really understand it. They always answer the phone or respond to your message and just make everything so easy all around. Beware. This place is a scam. I went in to get my oil changed. When I got it back, the car was leaking oil. I took my car to a trusted car shop (Richins in Draper- they have worked on previous cars i've had and have a good relationship with my family), Richins informed me that the screw/ plug to the oil drain was never fully tightened. Alta View said on their online report that I had a crack in the oil container and that I would need to get it replaced ($600 and up). THIS WAS A LIE. THIS PLACE PURPOSELY LEFT THE OIL PLUG UNSCREWED SO MY CAR WOULD LEAK OIL AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY to "get it fixed". I then confirmed this information with my dad who has worked on many cars and is a mechanical engineer. STAY AWAY. If you need more convincing, look at the other 1 star reviews of this place. I will be reporting this place to Utah Division of Consumer Protection.

Super kind and professional team! Excellent service!!! I took my parents car down because I couldn't get the sun vizor to stop making a loud sound when I put the car into reverse. All the dealerships were asking a lot money but these guys attended to my car very quickly and fixed it for free. I really appreciate their kind and honest work. I will be using their service again for sure.

My car was returned worse than it was after handover. The work they did inspecting my timing belt bore a hole into my power steering tube. Power steering was completely gone upon pickup. I took it to a different mechanic who confirmed the neglectful work and appraised me fairly. They will upsell and damage your car to charge you more.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

DANGEROUS TO REFILL PROPANE HERE !!.Didn't close overfill valve, and it leaked all the way home. Nasty smell on way, but didnt have screwdriver with me.BAD HEADACHE when I got home, quickly tightened. They also overcharged for 5.2 gallons. It is only a 5 gallon container!! How much leaked out ?BAD, DANGEROUS PROPANE PLACE.Plenty of other options out there for this service.

I'm a small business owner in Sandy, so I really want to be able to support other small businesses in the area. But unfortunately Alta View Car Care can't be one of them.I called in advance, and let Alta View know I've got two tires on my vehicle with punctures. I've personally plugged the punctures with rope repair plugs. I wanted the reassurance of tire technician to remove the tire and patch from the inside, more than happy to pay for this service. Alta View couldn't do it same day, no worries, I completely understand, so I schedule the service for Monday. I drop the vehicle off on Monday, make sure the service advisor knows two rear tires have plugs in them, even describe the piece of metal removed from the second of the two tires. Dropped off at 9am, called at 3pm to check. Not looked at yet (no worries, I get it). I was assured they would call back later in the day. I did not receive a call back that day. I called repeatedly Tuesday morning, hoping for an update, maybe even pick up the vehicle on my way to work - no answer. I stop by anyway on my way to work. Service advisor says the technician was NOT ABLE TO FIND THE SLOW LEAK. I didn't report a slow leak. I spoke to two different service advisors ahead of time, let them know two tires had DIY plugs, and I wanted technician installed internal patches. Alta View had my vehicle all day, no call to update, won't answer the phone the next morning, and all you can say is the technician can't find a non-existent slow leak?!?!? Can he find a DIY plug in a tire?!?! Can you call to update a customer?!?!?!It pains me to say this, but the larger tire stores offer equal, maybe better service. I'm stil on the lookout for a local business I can use for automotive repair.Service: Tires

Wow. I love my car very much. I had a black ice incident and my insurance company concluded it was a total loss. They paid out generously, but I didn't want another....Nathan and the staff were my car's third stop after a whole lot of craziness. Nathan identified all the problems as well as determined what wasn't actually a problem. He called me every step of the way to update me, including telling me when my car arrived, and every detail after that. The car is 21 years-old and so many people told me to just get another, but these guys did what I actually wanted and fixed my beloved car. My wife and furry family are on a cross country RV trip. We sustained suspension damage after hitting a deep pothole on I-70. Nathan took our call and told us to get there as early as possible the next morning. They got us in and diagnosed the problem upon our arrival and ordered the required parts. Within 2 hours after receiving the parts we were on our way. Keep in mind that this was on a Friday going into the 4th of July holiday. They saved our a**es. This is the only honest shop I've ever known. Nathan and the other guys are great to work with. I'll never take my vehicles anywhere else. I have never had customer service like this anywhere else!My car was giving some codes & not wanting to go faster than 5-10 mphWe took the car there on Wednesday, they did the inspection & called me a couple hours later letting me know it needed a new throttle body.The initial quote was just shy of $1400.The part itself was 95% of the cost bc it s all electrical.We gave the go ahead, & the next day (Thursday) they called saying it was done! (They had to special order the part, from another state)When they called they stated they found the part for a lot cheaper.Most shops would keep the price at the same $1400 ish so they can make a bigger profit, since we already agreed to it, right?Not these guys! We ended up paying just above $900 out the door, which is insane!(Every car is different & pricing, I m just happy they saved us money!!)My car drives brand new! No lag like it had before the lights even came on, it drives like I first got it! It idles smooth too! I m beyond ecstatic!!They are also super knowledgeable in European cars! They have all the special fluids they take, as well.I will be recommending everyone to come here! If you re looking for a shop that is honest, give them a call. I promise you won t regret it!My dad has had several great experiences with them as well! These guys are wonderful! They were kind, honest, and attentive. I needed my front brakes completely replaced and they did a superb job. They gave me advice about what needed to be done on my car whether I got it done with them, or at another mechanics - which I really appreciated.

These guys are fantastic, very reasonable pricing and helpful with repairs they have made to my truck. I needed flushes, differentials, and there were some electrical problems that I have been having. Took it into Ford Dealership and they immediately said everything would be about $3300 out the door. Took to these guys and Nathan and Richard are great and said that they don't want to do more repairs than necessary and only needed to do a few things totaling $1300 out the door. Love it when mechanics are reasonable instead of just trying to bill you for everything. Definitely going to them for future needs.Services: Transmission, Electrical

Excellent customer service. These guys are honest and really know their stuff. They always fit us in and do a great job. From oil changes to full engine replacement, we have always been really happy with the work. We've referred a whole bunch of friends and neighbors and every one of them is now a loyal customer. Honestly, I don't usually leave bad reviews I know how it can affect your business. But, I called to get a quote and the guy I spoke with was nice but, super shady! I was told that if I brought in my own parts that I would be charged $25 an hour more and that they wouldn't warranty their work. I understand not putting a warranty on the part you installed but why charge $25 an hour more?I also asked about a Military discount and was told it was 10% up to 50 dollars... well the worked needed would have been $1,600 dollars plus ac refrigerant.... soo, maybe 3% discount(why say 10% but only honor up to $50 dollars off?)Also, the ac compressor if I had bought it from them would have been $650 dollars...... I called O'Reilly auto parts and ordered one for $350 dollars with a lifetime warranty. This place screams scam!! why up-charge on a part that I am already buying at a retail price? $300 more for what? Help me understand Alta View Complete Car Care that you're not taking advantage of people and i'll change my review!

Nathan, Richard and the team at Alta view Complete Car Care do great work, are completely honest and are amazing to work with. We are extremely happy with how they have serviced and repaired all of our cars for many years. They also have a Toyota certified mechanic and they service our sons 4Runners. This is a shop you can trust.

My transmission blew up less than 2 days before I was to move across the country. And on the 4th of July weekend. Richard was amazing at communicating everything with me. My options and what he recommended. I made the decision to have them install a new transmission after they did a detailed check of all major systems. They were able to complete the repairs before I had to leave for my cross country adventure. These guys are seriously awesome.Services: Transmission, Auto engine tuning, Oil change

Alta view tires has been our place we take our vehicles to. They are honest and don t try to sell you a new car to go under the radiator cap. They do let you know about future things but don t pressure you to do them now if not needed.Joe came to my rescue when my battery died. I appreciate that so much. I m glad they had time to spare him to be my hero!! Thank you!! So much! They are busy and for good reason they are good at what they do.

The men who work at Alta View Auto Care are so kind. My terrible license plate wouldn t come off so I popped in to see if they could help me real quick well, real quick turned into 45 minutes of them working so incredible hard to finally get it off. Rusty screws are no joke! I am so grateful to them and will definitely be back!

These guys offer the best customer service I have ever received. They are honest, helpful, and always make me feel welcome. I've been bringing my Subaru to them for years and can't imagine bringing it anywhere else! During one especially cold spell one winter, my car was having some issues and just needed to warm up and thaw out. When they realized I didn't have a garage, they offered to let me leave my car in the shop overnight free of charge and gave me a ride home. On another occasion, I was having trouble describing a sound my car was making, so the mechanic got in the car with me to drive a few blocks and diagnose the problem. When I came in for a simple oil change, they noticed that my registration was almost up and informed me that I could update the tags right then and there through the shop - I had no idea! They put the new sticker on and everything! Can't recommend this shop enough.

Tom, Eddie and the staff at Alta View are phenomenal! I will not take my car elsewhere. They get the job done right every time and when there is a difference in the price they quote me they always call to explain the discrepancy before continuing. It's nice to know there are trustworthy mechanics and that I can take my vehicle to a local shop where they remember me.

My family has been going to Alta View tires for as long as I can remember. They've always been very helpful and willing to answer questions that I've had. The staff is very friendly and kind and you know that you aren't going to get screwed over here. They have always run over the options with me to let me know what I can do to fix an issue with my car and save money if possible.

I have used other shops in SL and Utah counties. I just started going to Alta View Tires & Service and have found a home. No need for the others any longer. These guys are professional, honest and take the time to explain what is needed. Their prices are fair as well. I would recommend this shop to anyone. No need to have a mechanical background with these guys. They are honest through and through.

I have never been to this place except for when I bought tires on my truck.I'm not going to lie I was a little skeptical about coming to this place because you don't see other Alta View tires. I wanted a particular tire and Alta View tires had the best price for them. I can tell you after my visit I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone else there. The two Tire technicians were so personal with my truck I couldn't believe what I was seeing. They treated my truck like it was their own. They were very careful when they did everything and they made sure everything was done right. I even remember telling the guy who checked me out how impressed I was with his 2 Tire techs. The guys that help you behind the counter are fantastic as well. They answered all my questions I had regarding the Mastercraft courser MXT s. This is a smaller shop but in a way I almost feel like that's better because they're more personal.

These guys are fabulous! They got me in for an emergency repair early on a Thursday and were done that same day. It wasn't a huge repair, but one I needed done ASAP and they came through for me. 10/10, would recommend again!
