Our truck was damaged in a windstorm when a tree broke and fell on the cab and hood denting them, breaking the windshield and there were also scratches along the side in the paint.We took our truck to Custom Auto Refinishing and Sales in Ogden, Utah, from a referral by our insurance agent.Upon dropping the truck off, we were treated very nice. This truck is very sentimental since it was my sons Uncles truck. My son bought it after his Uncle passed away. We were happy with our initial meeting and left the truck to be fixed at this shop. That was in August 2021. Covid had put a delay on some of the replacement parts so we knew it may take some time to get back. We picked the truck up in October. We arrived just before closing. Upon arrival my son noticed the truck was a completely different color. We were told it was because they no longer make his color. Not one time did we receive a phone call to discuss this. Over the next week, while out in the sun, we noticed several problems in the paint. Such as cloudiness in the paint, blending problems, bumps and dings and air bubbles in the paint, obvious areas where the old paint didn t get painted over. We returned the truck and pointed out our concerns directly to Jerry. We were made to feel we were ungrateful for the hard work and many hours the shop did and that they went above and beyond with extras (that we never asked for, might I add!) We were told they would fix our concerns but that the shop was losing money. (Do you really tell a customer that??)Something that was absolutely due to lack of preparation before re-painting, was the bubbles in the paint above the wheels. We specifically pointed this out to the shop. We left the truck again, for several more weeks. Custom Auto had our truck just over 90 days total. Fast forward to today Less than 6 months later, the bubbles in the paint came back due to lack of preparation before painting for a SECOND TIME!! This is horrible and unacceptable! I would not recommend this company at all! If I could leave a ZERO star rating, I would! We have no other choice but to take it somewhere else and pay AGAIN! I have plenty of pictures and I have taken our truck to several auto painters that have all stated that this should have never happened if the body had been correctly prepped!

The team at Custom Auto are top-notch professionals who do excellent work. They re also trustworthy, so you know your car and wallet are in good hands. We have used them for three different cars and have been very happy each time.

Horrible communication, taking forever on just rear end damage. I am now having the reschedule my whole next week due to their lack of progress. Will not be using them again after this insurance issue. UPDATE, they lost my spare tire and refuse to cover for their mistake. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY.

I was sent here though Progressive and have been absolutely displeased with the work that was done to my vehicle. The paint job was terrible and they also didn't put on a clear coat. There's still tape left on my car as well as chipped paint from my accident. The hood was put on with little attention to detail. It's not even, some parts touch other parts of the vehicle while I have large gaps in others. When I picked up my car they told me the window didn't roll down and that I needed to contact my insurance to get it fixed... Even though there wasn't a problem with the window when I had originally dropped it off. The welding job inside my hood is done poorly and my wheel barring never got replaced. I will never recommend someone bring there vehicle. Poor work and poor service.Services: Painting, Electrical

My daughter praised Jerry's Custom Auto on her car after she had an accident. So when I scraped a railroad tie with my wife's brand new 2022 BMW X5. We took it to Jerry's Custom Auto. They did impeccable work with great customer service! The price was very competitive but the work was amazing!! I would not even think of taking my cars anywhere else!Service: Body & Trim

I took my car here after being rear ended by another driver. This shop was reccomened by the insurance company.Dropping the car off was easy but there was never an update from the shop even when the part they needed was delayed by nearly a week.Upon picking up my car two women were sitting in the office and handed me my keys but did not go over any work done on my car. Instead they sent me on my way and made me feel rushed to leave.Arrived home with it to find my tire completely flat. I can only assume this happened at the shop as I live fairly close to the shop and there is no reason for me to have gotten a flat so quickly. Especially as these were brand new tires.Service: Body & Trim

I've taken multiple vehicles in for paint and body and have not been more pleased with a shop.No gimmicks, just quality work.Service is great and getting my cars fixed with them was a very easy process.I highly recommend these guys and will continue to use them myself.

We were rear ended. Geico was the person insurance and surprisingly, they were extremely helpful and kind through the entire experience. They did try to get us to go with their shop and out of convenience, we almost did. But my husband has ties in auto industry and the reviews for the shop they picked were terrible. So my husband said we would take the extra steps and I'm glad we did. Steve was amazing. Professional, patient, kind, and did an amazing job. I got my car back and it looks better than before. And I have a 3 step paint color that he matched perfectly. As luck would have it, two days later, my service engine light came on. I didn't think it would have had to do with the accident but I really didn't know since I had just gotten it smogged and oil change the day before and all was fine. After making some calls and ending up on the phone with Steve, he told me bring it in that he would check it out. Ended up being a fluke situation but he didn't even hesitate to take the time and check it for me. I'll never go to another body shop place again. The service and work doesn't get any better. If I could give Custom 100 stars I would!!! The work they did on my Explorer is top notch!! They went above and beyond to make sure my vehicle was even better than it was before it was hit I started my repair process by going to my insurance s recommended body shop. After meeting with them I found out they wanted to fix my car in the cheapest and subpar way possible. I was in tears and just wanted my car back to the way it was before it was hit not band aided back together. I decided not to let them do the work and contacted my insurance agent and he recommended Steve and this shop. I got in touch with them and met with Steve the next day. I explained to him the terrible experience I had with the other shop and how I felt that they were taking advantage of me. Steve was such a professional, assured me he would get new parts to replace the damaged ones instead of just trying to glue the damaged ones back together with bondo. From the second I met with Steve my tears dried up and I knew my car would be fixed right!! He even went above and beyond and replaced a broken fog light that wasn t even involved in the accident and wouldn t let me pay extra for it!!! I would never, ever go anywhere else for any auto body needs after the experience here. Thank you so much Steve and your crew!! You ve got a customer for life and I promise all my friends and family will only go here too!!!!!!Service: Body & Trim

Took my 2016 Toyota Tundra to Custom Auto twice in 5 months due to unfortunate accidents on the road. Both times I had rear bumper damage. Steve and other staff were awesome!!! They do impeccable work and their customer service was superb. Can t say enough about Custom Auto and the pride they took in fixing my truck. They even washed the outside and inside, and went above and beyond on some other body work that has been a sore spot for the last year. My truck looks brand new again:).Really appreciate the care they took with my truck and efficiency in getting the repairs done in a timely fashion. I highly recommend Custom Auto Ref & Sales and will go back to them again on future repairs and body work:).

After my vehicle was vandalized I took my vehicle here to get it repaired and I honestly could not be happier with my experience. Everyone working there was very friendly and they kept us updating on the entire process. My car looks better than it did before the incident. I would definitely recommend custom auto to anyone looking to get some work done!

The guys at Custom Auto are amazing. I've never been somewhere that has customer service as their number one priority. Steve is such a pleasant guy to work with and will do everything in his power to make you happy. He made it so easy to work with my insurance/rental company that I knew I was in good hands. The work is amazing, I highly recommend you bring your car here.

These people from the front of the house to the back are absolutely AMAZING!!! I needed to drop my car off to get repairs and wasn t able to get there for business hours, but they worked with me. They kept me updated and in contact with me every step of the way. They stayed late so i could pick my car up. And called me after hours to make sure everything was satisfactory! Not to mention my car looked terrific when i picked it up! Looked brand new! Also they had my car repaired before the estimated date. I was very impressed and will return if i am in need of repairs. Thank you! Thank you!

I have had three cars worked on here. The two that were done for progressive insurance claims were don't quickly. The State farm claim took almost 7 months with me waiting for my vehicle. I had to press the insurance company to force them to finish. They warranty the work for life but if you need a repair, be prepared to wait upwards of 3 months to get you car back. My suggestion is to look elsewhere unless you don't mind the wait. They do good work but the wait is unacceptable. The owner Jerry has transferred ownership to his son but even that hasn't improved things. They are a progressive insurance repair center. That is their main focus. I can't state this enough.

So I needed some serious work done to my 2008 Ford fusion last winter. Door replacement from an accident and had damaged my bumper in a different accident. I asked if how much they would charge me to simply paint my newly ordered bumper I had planned to put on myself but they said bring it on in and they would paint it for me while they are doing the door. And to my surprise they painted and put it on for me at no additional charge. My car was done and ready in a reasonable time frame and paint match was impeccable. I was stunned by the level of customer service and willingness to help.I am saddened by the bad reviews I see as I have had nothing but the best experience and can't wait to work with them again!

The best auto body in Utah by far. I have used other shops in the past on my luxury vehicle and the work is never close to what Custom does for their vehicles. No car leaves their shop without passing an inspection to insure it is 100% complete to customer satisfaction. Amazing shop. Refuse to use anywhere else. Last year, while I was out of town, my mom had an accident and was looking for a place that could help her get her car back to pre-accident conditions. After several referrals she took her car to this place. Most of the work that was needed was on the rear of the car. They needed to replace the bumper and the rear door of her SUV.My mom was not satisfied with the work that was done. The bumper was not the same color, they gave her a dark grey and her original was black. It was also not installed properly. The rear door also had issues with the work. There were loose parts inside that made noise whenever she closed it and the rear windshield wiper was installed backwards. Whenever she turned it on it wiped the door and not the windshield. My mom went in several times asking for help and could not get a proper resolution.I understand that part of the issue was that she spoke Spanish and she needed an interpreter. While this business is not required to speak Spanish or assist my mom in her native language, they are supposed to be provide their clients with good service despite any language barriers.What my mom received was no where close to that.I am not a car repair expert and even I can tell the windshield wiper is not wiping the window properly and that there are screws missing to the bumper. Why they didn't recognize this despite the language barriers still baffles me. One look at the subpar work that was done would be enough to suffice. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I have tried to reach out myself to get help and received no response. BY NOW the car is fixed and my mother had to PAY AGAIN to fix the SUBPAR labor that was done. I have pictures of the work and the damage that was caused to the paint because of the improper installation of the windshield wiper.Service: Body & Trim

Had a great experience. Had some debri damage to our car and they repaired it, replaced the front cowling and matched the paint perfectly. I took it in on a Monday and picked it up on Friday. Which was a lot faster than I expected. They cleaned it up also. If you need to have damage repaired I highly recommend them. They do awesome custom paint also.

Hands down the best Auto shop I've ever been too. The Owner Jerry helped get my car completely repaired in 101�F degree heat. I know where to bring my car if I ever have problems in the future. Awesome Crew. Thank You

Oh this place was miserable!! They cost me $150 and two months of wasted time for nothing. I took some photos in to get a very rough idea what it might cost to paint my car. Jerry gave me an idea of the cost, so I had the car towed up to the shop since it was within my budget. After visually inspecting the car, we still agreed on a price. He said he had a van ahead of me, but that they should be able to start work in two weeks. I agreed. I also told them that the car's doors didn't lock, so they said they would move it to their locked storage yard (which they never did). Two weeks passed, and nothing. I started going up to their shop every week, and my car never moved. Every time I went up, all they did was show me the amazing cars they had worked on, said they would start my car "tomorrow", or whatever. After two months of being lied to, I went in, grabbed my keys, and dug my car out from under A FOOT OF SNOW. The interior had water damage from the melting snow (it was garage-kept prior to this). I then had it towed back home. What a joke.

I bought a car from Jerry's Custom Auto last year that had been in a minor accident and Jerry's Custom Auto restored. Recently I noticed that one of the panels had come loose. I took it back into Jerry's and they fixed it at no charge. The car looks good as new. Great service and extremely honest.

Amazing customer service!!!! I ran over a dead deer and my bumper and condenser got messed up. This guys got it all done in 3 days plus Jerry waved part of my deductible because I was paying out of pocket rental. I'm just so greatful that there are still honest and wonderful repair shops like Custome Auto and refinishing! My car looks just like new. YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!! I AM SOLD!!!! THANK YOU JERRY AND YOUR TEAM!!!!!

Jerry and his workers did amazing on my car!! It looked brand new when I got it. My car was hit by a hit and run and had so much damage to it. They fixed it and it looked even better before it was damaged! They fixed it for a great price! I would recommend this body shop to everyone!!

Horrible experience. Its what nightmares were made of. Progressive convinced me to let them take it to their shop. Vehicle kept missing promise times. When i finally got my car back, nearly a month later, it was horribly done.The hood was half assed painted, not even the right shade of red, paint was pebbled. The hood was barely attached. Wiper switch was wired backwards, washer system didn't work- though it did right after the accident. There was red spray paint on my tires and window. Inside my vehicle was littered with dog foot prints and parts bags, some even with parts in them. The WHOLE inside of the vehicle had been trashed. The dash had oil over it, windows had been left down and had RAINED in my car. The instrument cluster looked like a dog had wiped its nose all over the cluster and the car, even the inside of the windows had it. I don't own a dog, my windows stay rolled up to keep the car clean.This was a brand new car. I maintain it religiously. Its my pride and joy and this shop completely trashed the whole vehicle. When I went back to have them fix the issues, they barely even offered an apology. Completely unacceptable from a customer service stand point. A couple weeks after that I got my car back again after they repainted it, barely had even wiped down the interior, they hadn't even detailed it after all the damage they caused. The only thing positive is I had gotten some new wheels for my car and the paint was flaking- the owner re painted them from what looks like an apology. I appreciate what the owner did, trying to make up for it. But it was unbelievable. If it hadn't happened to my own baby I would never have believed it. Never once in my life have I seen worse service and lack of taking responsibility. My car still has oil on the trim pieces from it. The bumper still isn't tightened down correctly.I would never ever refer anyone here, not even someone I hated. If i could give custom auto zero stars I would. I'm still shocked it even happened. The job should have been done right the first time, not have to have it repainted 3 times. Whoever the technician was that worked on it clearly didn't even try. Almost seemed like it was on purpose. Never seen anything like it.

Steve is a gem! My vehicle was transported here for repairs following an out-of-state accident, and Steve was in regular contact with me regarding the progress. He helped me with my insurance company, and even helped me with the transportation of my vehicle back to my home state. He was by far the most helpful person I have encountered in this process. If I were actually located in Utah, I'd go out of my way to bring my vehicles here for repairs based on my experience with them.

Rust in windshield frame and broken panels that they just used adhesive to tape back on after replacing my windshield? Really?! The windshield they installed broke one month after install. I figured it was my fault, no big deal. When I got it replaced, the window shop showed me what they found- it s a 2017, bought brand new and they decided to just tape panels on instead of replacing. At the time of repairs I was not pleased with their general lack of response and commitment to the repair timeline. But now it s concerning to see the corners cut in actual repairs.

My experience with Custom Auto was not what I hoped it would be. The paint match that they gave me was horrible, and they refused to acknowledge it. If you are sent there through progressive insurance, DO NOT let them talk you in to keeping your car. Because I did this I am stuck with a bumper that is clearly a different color from the rest of the car. Avoid this place if you can.
