Friday January 12th I had my Honda Odyssey towed here. The CV axle broke off the joint on the right front wheel of my van. As luck would have it the lift broke so the techs weren't able to look at my van until the lift was fixed on Monday. I got a call Tuesday that the transmission was good, and the left side CV axel was good, but I needed a new CV axle on the right side and that we would need a transmission flush as well. We agreed to both things. We got another call telling us that the van was finished and we could come pick it up. When we arrived, we were told we would be charged a 3% fee for using a credit card. I let the manager know that he could make people aware of this fee ahead of time so they can come with another form of payment. He didn't understand why this was upsetting to me. This was a fee that could've been avoided if he would've mentioned it on the phone. We also asked if a military discount was offered and were told that the company does not offer them to retired military. We got in the van to leave and when we put it in reverse, it made a repetitive clicking sound. I went back in the store and tried to find the manager and couldn't find him. It took a minute, but after a tech came out and sat in the van to hear the sound, they took it back into the shop. They said it is now a transmission problem, and it will have to be rebuilt. This will cost at least another $1000 and take another 3-5 days. The manager first told us that before we came the tech took the van on two runs on the freeway and some drivetime around town, but they didn't hardly drive it in reverse that's why they didn't catch the problem. We barely got in the van to leave and put it reverse and could tell it had a problem. This was after being charged $2,083.02 for a non-working vehicle. The manager DeVante told my husband that sometimes when the techs put the CV axles on, they knock the transmission gears out of place. He admitted that the mechanic's mistake is what caused the transmission to need a rebuild. We've never had an issue with our transmission before taking it to this shop. To say that I'm not happy about the service is an understatement. If we were quoted this price before the work began, we would have made different choices.The shop has be sending our calls to voicemail since they told us it needed a transmission re-build. My husband stopped by today and was quoted another $4,500 for their mistake. The manager went as far as saying that we broke if after they fixed it and we didn't even make it out of the parking lot. We only put the van in reserve and it made a sound so we walked back into the shop.We tried emailing the owner two weeks ago and he hasn't responded to us. This is our family car we are going on being without it for almost a month now.Update- After dealing with DeVante for a month we finally got our car towed to another company today 2-14-24. It took calling the police to get our keys back. DeVante wouldn't release our car because of this review. He kept telling my husband that I needed to change it. Our family has been without our car because he is unhappy with our review. I uploaded a picture of our transmission so you can see that the teeth are broken off of our reverse gear not worn down. This is why we believe AAMCO broke our transmission. DeVante also charged us an additional $1181.95 to tell us the transmission needs to be rebuilt. I also uploaded pictures of the additional damage the shop did to our van. We took pictures of the condition of it when it was dropped off and this was it when we came to pick it up. You can see the chipped paint, stains, and dirty rims. If you have had a similar situation I would suggestion filing a BBB complaint as well as an Attorney General Complaint.They had a certain time to reply to the BBB complaint. They choose not to. It will be documented as an unanswered complaint and doesn't look good for AAMCO. This contributes to the rating they get from the Better Business Bureau.

AAMCO is the best!! Definitely recommend bringing your car to this particular location, Davante is super honest and transparent, as well as kind. I feel like I can trust this him to give me the honest truth about what repairs my car needs and how much it should actually cost. 5 stars all around!!

I had a transmission blow on my truck. 2500 miles after the warranty of course. Called multiple dealerships and auto shops. AAMCO and the owner Manny really came through for me. Great service and knocked it out super quick. Less than my other 2 quotes as well. Thanks buddy and keep up the good work!

Took my jeep to aamco on 30th and wall at the end of March. Davante lied about my transmission being unrepairable and told me that it would cost me $1000 for them to look in it so I paid, few days later he calls and said I need a new transmission that things are welded together and there's no way to repair it and that I needed a new one with the price of $8,200. I told him I can't afford it and to just put it back together and I will tow it. 3 days he kept lowering the price down to $4,500. I told him no! Took it to a place a few blocks down to "transmission specialist " they looked at it and it was about to be rebuild for $3,500. Dont trust DAVANTE AT AAMACO!!!! THEY ARE LIERS AND CROOKS!!!

Wow that's the best that I have ever seen in customer service. the manager DeVante and one hard working individual the tch, Ty... went out of there way to help a girl that had gotten in a reack in front of Amoco trancemishons on wall in Ogden thay stored her car for a hole weak and helped her friend fix it for her. with the tools that had borrowed a stranger he was aball to fix her and get the car on the road with no bill wow that was the nicest thing I have ever incownterd so remember Armco in Ogden perfect and 100% true story thay were the best!Arthur Rowlands

I m not sure what type of experience the review below had, but I have been serviced and repaired at this store location many times, and I absolutely recommend this place above all! They are very knowledgeable and certified in every area and many of my different makes and models of vehicles! The manager DeVante goes above and beyond to make sure me and and many of my family members get everything we need and that we are safe at all times in our vehicles, and we have trusted this Aamco for many years over! I cannot even begin to express how much they have done for us! And we will always continue to come back and use them for all our automotive services! Please do not let some disgruntled people turn you away, I can personally vouch that they are top notch and very professional in the care that they deliver for our vehicles! Thank you to this shop and we wish all of the team there to have a very Merry Christmas!

I was driving my 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 when suddenly, my transmission gave out on me! Talk about a stressful situation... but luck was on my side, as I was just close to AAMCO Transmissions! I limped my truck into their shop, and from the moment I walked in, I knew I was in good hands. The team at AAMCO was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They got me back on the road in no time. Their expertise and top-notch equipment are second to none! I can't thank AAMCO enough for saving me from what could have been a disastrous situation. Took my truck in for some issues with my transmission, and these guys got me a new transmission and torque converter in the same week, all installed and ready to go. About a month later I Noticed a strange sound coming from what sounded like my transmission. These guys were able to get me in quick, diagnosed it, and got it all fixed up in less than a week. These guys are awesome! Talk to Duvante, he ll you out!

Great experience with these guys. I had a transmission leak on my Dodge Sprinter. They found the broken line and repaired it fast while I waited. And the bill was not so bad. I still had money for lunch that day! I recommend these guys.

I stopped in without an appt to see if they could check the fluid level in my transfer case on my 2000 Silverado. They took me right in, checked not only the transfer case but everything else on the truck- even found a loose clamp on a coolant hose! These guys were quick and efficient, and at the end they wouldn't even let me pay. I'll be back for some fluid changes, etc. Very competent and customer friendly. Did I mention the complimentary coffee? In todays business world, this place is a breath of fresh air!

I work on HAFB in Vehicle Maintenance. We have plenty of transmission work to do & we like to utilize 3rd party service centers for more thorough work. Devante was very helpful.We had a mishap with our transmission leaking, and Devante warrantied the work with all new gaskets, and a fresh bill of health! I appreciate how quickly he kept me in the loop & how willing he was to make it right. We will be using them again in the future! Finding proactive vendors is hard nowadays. Would 100% recommend.

Took 25 days for a transmission replacement, then when I picked up the truck the windshield wipers AND speedometer didn t work and they wouldn t take responsibility and said it was a preexisting issue when I wasn t. Overcharge for under service, zero knowledge among the mechanics as well as I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is Gavin aamco was a great place to take my car too we didn't have the money at the time and they worked with us until it was paid off the manager devante was very helpful and understanding of situation and worked with and the technician Robert and grover did a good job on our car made sure it was all running good and there no issues with the transmission was great full for grover for driving our car home for thank you for your amazing work. Good place to go to if need your car worked on

This aamco location does an amazing job. DeVante the manager gave great customer service. Josh the technician went above and beyond. Josh is very skilled.I took my durango in and was helped in a timely manner the staff was very professional. If you are looking for a great shop this is a great business.

Had a New transmission put in at this location, they were fast as hell and did a great job. After a little bit I had a seal pop. I brought it in and they took care of it no charge with a quick turn around. Devante was super friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend!

My nephew's SUV would not start one morning. I helped him tow it here to AAMCO in Ogden. After the initial inspection, he was told they'd need to tear into it. He spent almost $900 to then be told it needed a $8k rebuild.He couldn't afford that, so we towed it out and eventually his family had someone else look at it. They were able to get it running with very little effort, and he's driving it around now without issue.$900 and it looks like the engine was never even actually looked at. Emptied his bank account. This was either incredible incompetence or straight up fraudulent behavior trying to take advantage of a kid who didn't know better.I would recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere, and if you received an expensive quote, I'd get a second opinion before spending anything here.

So I'm going to be honest here... I've lost my cool a few times with these guys about all the things " I KNOW" to be true.. (I don't know anything) lol ... But these guys kept their cool and really do a good job of breaking things down and helping me to understand. I might feel unhinged when I get there but I'm always comfortable with the outcome when I leave. Thanks for your patience Devante and Josh :) I do still think they are a little pricey ... Hence the 4/5

Our family car was taken here over a month ago. It left with more problems then it came with. It was towed to another company to fix. The police had to be called to release the keys to the car. Would not recommend. DeVante was very unprofessional and the owner Manny did not take responsibility for his employees.

The Manager, DaVante and the tech, Robert @ Aamco in Ogden, UT, was amazing. I had broken down across the street from their store. They came to my rescue and they were a very big help. They showed great hospitality and kindness. Thank you very much DaVante and Robert. May both of y'all be blessed.

My experience with the manager Devonte was by far the worst I've ever had with any auto mechanic.I drove my car in because he said they could have the job done in one day.A week later, I had to have it towed out because all they had done in that time was break another part.They still charged me the full amount before giving it back.$2k to get my car back in worse shape than when I dropped it off..It feels like they'll say anything to get your business, then hold your vehicle for ransom.If you're looking to get rid of your car for free, or live out an actual nightmare, then this is the place for you!

Super frustrating with the cost of getting a transmission rebuilt. I was told 1800 to 3500 and got quoted for 4560 after they started tearing into it. Customer service is horrible, nobody ever answers the phone, takes days to get a hold of somebody. Not to mention 1 month after I got the transmission serviced it now leaked a giant puddle of transmission fluid under the car. They wanted me to drive it into the shop while it's low on fluid. Unbelievable serviceEdit: Went to pickup car and the battery was drained completely.. didn't have jumper cables on me so I had to leave it there in the lot, not happe whatsoever with the quality I've been shown. Throughout the whole process he s had our best interest in mind and helped us get our vehicle back on the road safe. I went in thinking I was about to spend a lot of money to have my truck fixed, turned out to be a simple fix and I was back on the road in a very short time. I appreciate not being taken advantage of. I highly recommend.
