My car broke on a Saturday as we were pulling into the national park for a week-long camping trip. They were the only place open on the weekend that I could find, and were completely booked that day. Luckily, after explaining we were from 12+hours away and seeing that my car was completely undrivable, the owner managed to work us in with a quick fix. Was reasonably priced and very kind throughout! Only had to wait a couple hours too, which was nice considering how busy they were the day we pulled in.

BEWARE!!After having brake issues on the road, I was referred to Interstate America auto shop. All my car required was a set of front brake pads. $340 is what I was charged $180 of. That was 'labor'! I could not believe the nerve of the mechanic! Not only was I rap#d on cost, but the guy put one of the pads on backward! I had to turn around and go back.

Ken was wonderful. Our truck broke late at night on US 6 by Woodside and Mike at Steele Towing rescued us. He suggested Interstate and he was right; Ken fixed our problem (power steering pump locked up and broke serpentine belt and tensioner) in 2 hours. Good service, good rates! THANKYOU KEN!!Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

DO NOT STOP HERE IF YOU ARE A WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE THEY WILL MANIPULATE THE MAINTENANCE AND TRY TO TRAFFIC YOU!!!! WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND 4 MEN DRAINED IT INSTEAD OF REPLACING IT. TELLING EACH-OTHER TO GO SHOWER WELL I WAITED THERE. NEVER REPLACED THE OIL BUT WAS HOPING MY ENGINE WOULD BLOW! Thank God I know about cars. Stopped at a gas station to check it and never even put oil in it. Sick small town with sick people

Ken at Interstate America was hugely helpful in getting me back on the road so I could continue my trip (10+ hours of driving ahead of me). Ken was very professional, took time to explain and show me what he was planning to do and what he ended up doing afterwards, the transparency was really appreciated. In the end I felt extremely fortunate to have ended up at Interstate America for my issue as Ken was able to get me fixed up same day for a reasonable price and extremely high quality workmanship. Thank you Ken!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Can't recommend this place more! Was camping in the middle of nowhere and my check engine light, master warning light and TRAC off light came on. Made it to Green River thankfully and Interstate America got on the job immediately! Diagnosed the issue which was a chewed spark plug wire and ordered the parts ASAP. Labor costs were fair and the service was very transparent. They brought me in the back and showed me what was up and what exactly they would replace which I highly appreciate.Thank you for getting me back on the road!

Do not goto this business!Transmission went out on a cross country trip. I called Interstate America and had it towed to them. They told me they could get me in and have it fixed the next day, and that it would be 8 hours labor total. Since they said they could get it fixed promptly. I allowed them to work on my vehicle.I ended up stranded there without a vehicle for 5 days staying at a motel while they tried to figure out how to install the new transmission. They also damaged the tail gate of my truck (big dent and scratch). When I asked them about it they said "it was like that when I brought it in". I have video of me leaving my house with an undamaged tailgate, and had only stopped for gas twice before it was in their hands. Each stop I was in my tailgate to get water out of my cooler, and am 100% sure there was no damage before they had possession of it.Not only that, but it's been two days since they changed out the transmission and it's already giving me trouble. If you break down near Green River have your vehicle towed to Grand Junction, and avoid this place at all cost.

We drove in from Las Vegas, and upon arriving in Utah around 3:30pm, we had a mechanical issue. We googled auto repair shops, and we felt comfortable choosing Interstate Towing and Auto Repair. We met Ken, who did not hesitate to accommodate us right away and who immediately checked the vehicle and diagnosed the problem. Without wasting much time, he called for parts, but since it was already late, they would not be available until the following day.Ken was so nice and caring, that he took us and our belongings to our hotel and even volunteered to pick us up the following day. The repair was done early as promised and the charge was very reasonable and fair.We will forever be grateful to Ken for saving us from a possible catastrophe and for making it possible for us to enjoy and push through with our planned vacation.Kudos and more power to Ken and Interstate Towing and Auto Repair.

I own an auto repair shop in Brea, Ca and one of my customer was passing through Green River when his check engine light came on. My customer went to only shop in town, Interstate America and talked to Ken. The car was running a little rough and after Ken did his diagnosis he came to the conclusion that it needed a new engine. My customer called me and I talked to Ken and after taking to him for 20secs I knew that either he was trying to rip people off or he had no clue what he was doing. Either way I was not going to let him touch the car. I told my customer to get the car out of there and drive it to the nearest AAA shop. Scott s in Grand Junction, CO was great and fixed the car for $92. Do not go to Interstate America for even a light bulb!!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I was towed to this shop at the recommendation of the tow company. I was in a small school bus that had lost oil pressure. Matt, the man at the desk, told me they couldn't get to it for a while and I was okay with that. The shop owner, who I was told was an expert on my engine never showed up.The next day I found a number for the shop owner, Leon, and called him. He hung up on me. I went to the shop and was told they couldn't work on my vehicle at all. This was after spending $900 having the vehicle towed.I eventually found a shop in Price, UT to work on the bus. This was another $875 in towing. This was also one of the filthiest shops I've been in and I worked as an auto mechanic for 25 years. I would have been ashamed, as a mechanic, to treat a customer the way I was treated.Service: Engine repair

We started hearing an odd sound from our truck while towing a camper down I-70 & pulled over in Green River, UT. We were able to get help from Interstate America promptly. They test drove the truck, lifted it up to inspect underneath & were able to diagnose the issue quickly. The mechanic was super helpful & kind. Thanks, Interstate America!Service: General repairs & maintenance

We called in the early morning, and the owner told us we could bring our car in at 2pm. We drove over at quarter to 2 (with the whole family) and the guy at the desk told us we didn't have an appointment. He claimed the owner doesn't know anything and couldn't take appointments. I verified in my call history that this indeed was the place that took my reservation, but he rejected our appointment.Save yourself the hassle, and go across the street to Outlaw Mechanics. Much better service there.

I was driving through the area when my check engine light came on and started flashing, I knew that was bad so I immediately pull over and start trying to find nearby tow companies and mechanics. I called this mechanic on a Sunday at three thirty, so i knew he wouldn t be open late enough to fix any big problems, but he was only ten minutes away and my tow was already on its way to me so I knew I d get there fast. I asked the mechanic about my problem, made sure he could work on my kind of vehicle, and asked how long he would be there. He said he would stay in the shop until five pm. I thanked him and said I would be there shortly. We got there at four pm half an hour later and he had already left. He knew I was stranded and I was being towed to his shop, I had no idea what was wrong with my vehicle, I was stressed and he just left early despite telling me he wouldn t. It wasn t just unprofessional, it was kinda mean. I didn t ask him to fix anything I just ask for him to diagnose the problem with his computer, which only takes a few minutes.I slept in my car in the parking lot. The next morning he showed up and didn t mention it, even though he must have known it was me by the description of my vehicle the day before.Get this, it turns out it was a minor part that needed replacing, and they didn t have that part in town but it was one town over, in a bigger town where I probably could have found a place to stay the night. It took him fifteen minutes to tell me that.If he had stayed until five like he told me he would, I would have already been in the next town and had a place to sleep, and had my car fixed first thing in the morning. He was nice in person I guess, but it was just so.... mean.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Ran over something on the interstate and wanted to get the car checked. Mechanic was very friendly and got the car on a lift to inspect the under-carriage. He pointed out the damage and gave us recommendations for repairs. Luckily nothing was a safety issue so we are able to stay on the road.

Leon is awesome! Recommended by the tow truck company and the friendly guy at the Utah Welcome Center. Fixed our blown alternator on a Sunday and got us on our way. Even drove back to Grand Junction for the part. Fast and far cheaper than the dealership. Maybe the nicest guy in Green River.

They did not tighten the oil cap and almost totaled my truck. Put me and my family in danger in the backcountry. Went so far as to accuse me of lying and that someone else must have touched he oil cap after I left. The truth is by the time I realized the cap was not tightened and checked it it was finger loose. Wow. All in all their mistake only cost me an extra 195 dollars, which they refused to compensate, but it was the stress of being with a young family in a really bad situation that really ruined my vacation, not to mention the two days of vacation I spend dealing with this problem. Fortunately these days customer service like this is usually left to people that are either totally unaware how online reviews can hold businesses accountable and/ or rely on being the only place to get mechanical help for miles. I think they are both. Skip this business if you can or after leaving here I highly recommend you drive directly to the next mechanic and have the work checked.

Coming back from a mountain bike trip in Moab when my truck broke down. Interstate Auto came highly recommended by several tow companies. Initial diagnosis was broken roller arm on cam, but it ended up being broken rod and shelled engine. Took awhile to get the parts (thanks COVID!) but after 2 months I have my truck back. Runs great. Leon was great to work with, very patient throughout the entire process. Bo did an excellent job tearing out and installing the new engine. Price was fair, Leon was always available to answer questions or update status of the rebuild. Can t go wrong with this oasis in the desert!Service: Engine repair

Our tire blew just east of Green River causing damage to the bumper and underneath the vehicle. This was Saturday afternoon. The insurance company arranged for it to be towed to Green River. We were from out of town visiting Moab for the weekend, so we were anxious to get our vehicle up and going. I spoke to Leon at Interstate on Sunday and he said he would look at it first thing Monday morning. He was able to fix the vehicle enough so we could drive the 5 hours to home, and he got it done early afternoon Monday. He was a life saver!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Leon is a great person and helped my family when our alternator went out traveling back from vacation. He ordered the part and drove my family to and from our hotel in his personal truck. He was understanding of our travel situation and did all he could to get us back on the road quickly. We were very grateful for all his help.

Couldn't have broken down near anywhere better. I trashed my transmission which Leon located and drove to Colorado to get another, replaced the clutch plus some add on work. My bill wasn't too bad for the amount of work they did. During all of this, they ran my great dane and I back and forth from the shop to the hotel and anywhere I wanted to go. Best outcome to a bad situation.

Wow! If we could give this place 10 stars we would. Engine trouble on a cross-country trip, stopped in and he helped figure out what the problem was and get a part ordered which came in the next day. He prioritized our fix, and had us back on the road by noon, and very reasonable rates on top of it! THANK YOU! Highly recommend this shop if you find yourself needing service.Service: Engine repair

My father overheated on I-70. He was towed to this shop. There were 8 people in the back, 5 just sitting there. No one came out to look at his car., a 2016 ford. We drove an hour to go pick him up. When we arrived he was low on coolant due to a loose radiator cap. I walked in this repair shop bought a gallon of coolant. All fixed. If they had simply walked out side they could have, within seconds, diagnosed this simple problem. But they didn t care. They said his engine was seized, but had not even taken the couple minutes to look at it. Horrible people with a bad attitude as well. NEVER GO HERE!

I was glad to see that this place is open on Sunday in a small town in southern Utah that's a really big deal! I was also happy that they could get my truck in first thing Monday morning and get the part from the Napa in town and had me back on the road by 11:00 a.m. Monday. What I was not so excited about was their hourly rate is at the top end of what you would expect for mechanic and their parts markup is also at the top end of what is typical for a mechanic. They had to go to the store twice to get the parts for my truck and I got charged the parts markup as well as the time for the trip to the store, kind of seems like double dipping but what was I going to do? I suppose that's what you get for being one of two mechanics in a small town but if there's any avoiding it get to Salt Lake or Moab where there's a bit more competition and pricing might be a bit more fair.
