Great shop for all your auto needs. Andy gets you scheduled as quickly as they can. He will keep you well informed on what's going on with your vehicle. JD and his guys do top-notch and honest work. Prices are great, and they stand behind what they do. I always get a follow-up text after service is done, making sure everything was up to my standards. The only shop I let work on my vehicles. Can't recommend them enough.

One amazing experience! We live in Corpus, and were in town visiting family. As we pulled into my families driveway my car started steaming and water was clearly leaking. It was right at 6:00 pm when I called on a Thursday night so I expected to have to leave a message. They happened to answer and got me on the schedule for the next morning.After looking at the car they got all the work done by Saturday morning, which was so helpful, as I am a pastor and had to get back to do service Sunday.Overall I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area! They were friendly, attentive, and went the extra mile to get my family and I back on the road.

Had an issue where my passenger window wouldn't roll down. They had the best priced diagnostic and seemed nice on the phone so I brought my vehicle here. Before we knew what was wrong, they were honest with best case scenario and worst case scenario ballpark pricing.After the diagnostic I was contacted and they got the necessary part within a day and everything worked fine. Overall very competitively priced. When I was in store I also overheard a different customer's issue with their vehicle and from what I could tell they were honest with her as well.Competent vehicle servicing at fair pricing is rare, so I would definitely return.

A Girl, her Car, and a Team of Trustworthy MechanicsWhen I moved to North Richland Hills many years ago, I had to seek out a trustworthy mechanic. My previous mechanic, which I had for several decades, was in Garland and the drive was simply too far. I was not looking forward to this task. Thankfully, I found Watauga Automotive and am absolutely overjoyed with Andy and Team. They continue to earn my trust and provide reliable, reasonably priced repairs.My latest adventure involved the starting of the car. It wasn t normal. I decided to stop at AutoZone to have the battery checked. Everything went well until the check reached the alternator. It wasn t functioning up to spec. I called Andy to let him know. He told me to bring it in and they would check it. I went the next day and 30 minutes later he informed me they checked the entire electrical system, and nothing was wrong. Battery, starter, alternator, and ignition switch all check, check, and check. It would now appear to be user error which I quickly took responsibility for, laughing at myself.Time and time again, they have proven themselves to be trustworthy. Here I am with a test from Auto Zone indicating the alternator needs to be replaced and they could have easily confirmed the diagnosis and set about replacing something that did not need to be replaced.If you have been hoping beyond hope to find a trustworthy mechanic, look no further. The team at Watauga Automotive is the one!

So far so good. I feel like I can trust Andy and the team of mechanics there. I have taken my cars there twice now and no surprises. He is courteous and respectful of each customer.

After all the rave reviews, I thought this shop would be a good place to bring my car to.Major dissappoinment & trust issues with this shop:Here's the story:Brought my car in for a state inspection and to check out front driver side rattling noises. Was charged $25.50 for the state inspection and $41.76 + $3.00 (Shop supplies) for the "level one diagnosis" on the rattle noise. Was told by Andy someone will call later that day or the next day with the repair estimates for fixing the rattling sound. "The $41.76 diagnosis charge can be used toward the repair". It's been 6 days and no calls. I called in multiple times and left voicemails, even show up in person and was told by Andy the "Master Mechanic" was not available to comment or recommend a repair. So, I paid a total of $70.50 for a state inspection (normally, $25.50) and still my car has a unnerving rattle while driving down the highway. Do not trust anything this shop says.

I recently took my car in to have the AC serviced. Drop off at 9am, pick up at 3pm. After filling my freon, and changing the cabin filter, my air conditioning is icy! With a fair price, I am happy, and will continue to use Watauga Automotive to service our vehicles.Andy is professional, friendly, and timely. He returned phone calls, left messages, and communicated well every step of the way -- a refreshing business practice that's hard to come by lately.

Watauga Automotive was incredible to work with. I had some car issues that needed to be fixed pretty urgently, and finding decent places in the area can be hard due to a lot of mechanics unfortunately being overpriced as is, but also overcharging or just being unreasonable to young women like myself that they assume don t know much about cars anyways. I came in to Watauga Auto and they were the most kind, efficient, and fair people. I was in and out within an hour and their pricing was extremely reasonable. I am so thankful for their service this morning and i would highly recommend anyone to give them a visit if you re having car issues. I ll definitely be back in the future!Service: Battery

Not the greatest place to take your vehicle to. A while back my car got broken into. When I asked them to take a look into the electrical of the steering wheel. They said they don't do that. So there are some things they will not do.

I been with this mechanic for awhile now and they provide me with great service. I couldn't be more happier with them. I don't normally write reviews but when you check up on the work you do, preform the work well, and do everything the right way. Since moving to Texas i have had the worst luck finding a mechanic to take care of all my vehicles. Either no one wants to do the work or they are going to charge me 2 arms and a leg. I happened upon Watauga Automotive and started reading the reviews. I said let's try them. I had an issue with the gear shifter and JD tracked down the part had it ordered and called me when it arrived so i could bring the truck back in. They promised it would only take a few hours when we set everything up. They stood by that promise i dropped my truck off at 8am and it was done before lunch. They didn't even charge an arm. The rates are extremely reasonable and i am so appreciative. They now have the business of all my vehicles.Service: Steering & suspension repair

The guys here are just amazing and friendly and will definitely go above and beyond to help get your vehicle fixed. I have had several things fixed on my altima in the past and even though I have a brand new vehicle now, I still have my mom's van serviced here for maintenance and repairs. Recently had to have my battery replaced and they got it done super quick

This is what a mechanic shop is supposed to be fair honest. Took my truck in thinking I needed brakes they took a look call me back and said your brakes are still good and told me how much I had left on them. These guys are my new go to mechanic.

Never have I had a car in the shop, for what should have been 3 days turned into 3 weeks. I had to take it to another auto shop. On top of all that, they left extensive damage on the interior of my car. I've never been so disappointed with an auto shop in my life. Not only did I have to end up taking it somewhere else, but I now have to pay out of pocket for all the damage they caused.

I brought my truck to this shop to diagnose an ac leak. They filled my ac with freon and told me they knew there was a significant leak but couldn t find it so charged me $194 for the ac charge and sent me on my way. Gave it back to me the day after I took it to them, I would ve waited if they d said they needed more time to find the leak. I had someone else look at it and the leak was just spewing out of a valve on top, shouldn t have been difficult for a mechanic to find. So I ended up paying them $194 to just fill up an ac we all knew would just leak out within 2 weeks.Service: Air conditioning

Overpriced, questionable experience.I am not sure they have an ASE certified mechanic that works there. If they think they do... They may want to check his credentials.

Andy was honest and professional We had our catalytic converter stolen with other damage under our truck. We had a previous quote which was ridiculous and after sending it to Watauga they quoted less than half that amount. They were friendly and accommodating of our situation plus had it done in a timely manner. We will definitely continue using there services whenever we have vehicle issues.

I brought my Dodge Ram here knowing I had waited too long to replace my brake pads and expected to need at least 2 new rotors. They fixed it at a competitive price, on schedule, and showed me the old rotors so I could see the damage I had done. I had some additional problems on my rear axle and they were able to fix that (and show me the damage) for considerably less than their original estimate. Friendly honest competent work. This is my go-to shop for anything from state inspections to major repairs. Andy in the front office has always been very nice, and explains things well so that I feel involved in the process of getting my car fixed. After fixing a brake failure on my car, I even got a follow up text from JD, the mechanic, asking if everything was working properly. It's hard to find a good honest auto shop these days, but I feel very lucky to have this one right down the street from me.

I had to visit them a few times within the year I lived here in Texas. Every time I went to them, they would make sure they gave me the best deal possible and got my car done as quick as they could while still doing quality work.Andy was always super kind and even helped pay for my tow truck when my belt came off of my car a couple days after it was fixed.If you want quick, quality, compassionate service, this is it. I am 84 yo. I took my car to them to get the AC/Heater vent controls fixed. They either did not or could not fix it. They installed a cabin filter and charged me $188.97. They said that may fix the problem, it did not. I am very unhappy and surprised because they have such good ratings otherwise.Service: Air & cabin filter replacementService: Air & cabin filter replacement

This will be my new mechanic. I originally brought my car to Hunter Automotive which charged me almost 150$ to diagnose and quote me over 1400$ to fix some AC issues that I had. Andy worked with me and gave me an honest breakdown of the labor on my Nissan Sentra, the exact cost of the parts, etc. They called me and even offered me to do part of the job for 300$ and hold off on the other part because of the labor required. I decided to get it done, and then they called AND LOWERED THE PRICE 100$ because they found a easier way to install the part.This is unheard of in my experience with auto shops. Andy is refreshingly honest. His customer service is unmatched. Their prices were great. They are legitimate and truthful. The mechanics do excellent work. This is without question, the best experience I have ever had at any mechanic.We are bringing my wife's car next week, and my mom wants to bring her car to them now as well. This is how you run a business and build a loyal, lifelong customer base. Some mechanics get quick, easy money through predatory practices or outright dishonesty, but you don't return to them. Watauga Automotive is clearly trying to make life long customers. This is better than a 5 star establishment.- John StevensonService: A/C installation & repair

Probably the first time I've ever had a shop where the actions speak louder than the words.Straightforward, honest assessment of my vehicle's needs, no "corporate" pricing and up-sells or unnecessary replacements, and the guys went above their required duties to help me throughout the process.
