Ric Henry's was an absolute nightmare! He blew not 1 but 2 modules while fixing my starter in my 2013 BMW, and had the nerve to charge me for his screw ups!!! Shane the manager even agreed that Ric was in the wrong and it should be his responsibility to fix it. Shane also said he was leaving for a more professional job because of how Ric handles these types of situations. That SPEAKS volumes on how that place is operated. FINALLY after 2 months and many headaches I got my car back. Don't make the mistake I made and take your BMW to Private Autosports in Abilene. They have far more integrity and professionalism!! Update, I got the car home and the convertable roof top does not work anymore All modules worked when I dropped it off and 3 were blown in his possession. That is his responsibility!

We were experiencing problems with our European diesel van (Fiat Ducato Motorhome) and were approaching different Chrysler Fiat dealerships from Florida up to Texas - they couldn't help us. Ric Henry's Auto Service in San Angelo TX could. Ric let us camp in his parking lot, provided water and electricity until the required spare parts (diesel pressure pump, regulator, etc ) arrived from Switzerland. He even gave us a car for two weeks, free of charge !Very friendly people, especially Shane, the Service Consultant. Professional and very experienced mechanics - highly recommended.Service: Engine repair

I can t speak highly enough about the guys at Ric Henry s Auto. We were traveling through Texas when my check engine light came on my sprinter van and it was losing power. We brought the van to the shop first thing Monday morning and the guys came out to diagnose the check engine light right away. They looked at it for a little bit until they found the culprit of the problem. They were able to overnight the part that needed to be replaced and have us back on the road the following day. Very grateful to have found an honest shop in my travels and I would highly recommit bringing your vehicle here. Also, they were very hospitable and even gave us a ride somewhere to hang out while they did the work on our van!

Prior to purchasing my wife s Mini Clubman I was concerned about quality service here in San Angelo. Just by chance while fueling my truck a young lady pulled up in her Mini Cooper.I asked her if she lived in town she said yes, I then asked where she had her Mini serviced. She said the only place she trusted was Ric Henry. She went to explain how Ric has been keeping her Mini trouble free for years.That s what I wanted to hear because I wasn t going to drive DFW for an oil change. Now that we have purchased our Mini Ric is servicing items that are OEM or are at designated service intervals.The car runs great and Ric Henry will be a big part of maintaining that status.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

My car died in Eden on my way to San Angelo. The tow company informed me that Ric Henry's was pretty much the only shop in San Angelo that will work on BMW's. I trusted the dispatcher as he also informed me that he didn't have a driver familiar with towing a BMW and referred me to another service that would. Ric Henry's was prompt in diagnosing and fixing an issue with my fuel pump(s). Communication on their end was superb. 10/10 will use again.

Best Shop Experience Ever! I was traveling home after some much needed family time after Thanksgiving when a worst case scenario happened. My car broke down with another 150 miles to get home. Luckily I broke down within a few blocks of Ric Henry's. After being greeted on the phone by Shane and explaining my situation, I limped my car over and he immediately assisted me and gave my car a test drive. Something gave out with the shifter lever and the transmission was limited to only a few gears. Shane kindly managed to take the time for my car the following morning, and they even had it ready to go by 9:30 AM that same day! On top of that I was given a ride to and from my stay for the night, courtesy of Dana! I could not have found a better place to take my car for repair. The car needed a relay replaced. Ric Henry's had the car from 9 am until 5:30. As of 4:30 they hadn't even looked at the car but at 5pm their estimate was $3000. They wanted to replace the entire system. Relay = $20 My guess, is their "mechanics" are on commission or they don't even troubleshoot but instead have their office quote complete replacements. I hate to think that an auto repair business could get away with such blatantly ripping people off without the law getting involved. Stay away from this place and take those positive reviews with an enormous grain of salt.

The folks at Ric Henry are absolutely wonderful. I have had all 3 of my son's vehicles in and they have taken care of them. The pricing is fair. Real quotes not estimates. They are our go to shop when we need it.

My wife and I had just purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe from a local car dealer in town and and the vehicle was unsafe to drive.. We returned it to the dealer who recommended Ric Henry service to correct many issues. Ric and the entire team of mechanics including front office ensured everything was put back together to meet the factory standards from Chevrolet. I highly recommend his auto service to anyone in town.

I highly recommend Ric Henry's if you are looking to get any work done on your vehicle. This is the only place we go to in San Angelo because they are very friendly, knowledgeable and we have never had an issue. I've taken two of my vehicles and my husband has taken his vehicle a few years back and they've always repaired our cars and got us back on the road as fast as possible. They don't have to, but they also offer to drop you off at home after you've taken your care there. I've never been to a more friendlier auto shop. They are simply the best and so is Shane!!

I am from out of town. I hit a deer and my car started overheating. I had it tower to Ric Henry's and explained that (if possible) I needed to get back on the road asap. I was expecting them to do the typical mechanic thing of giving me a list of 10 problems and trying to charge me thousands of dollars. It was a simple hose issue. The charged me next to nothing and had me safely back on the road within a short amount of time. Days later my car runs fine. I highly recommend Ric Henrys.Update January 2020: Ive now lived in San Angelo for 2 years, my family and I have used Ric s numerous times. I stand by the original review. Great service, great work, honest business.

I took my 17 year old Dodge Ram pick up into Ric Henry's Auto Service because the ball joints were shot. Ric worked on my truck himself! A number of other places would've done the easier job by just replacing the upper and lower suspension arms which would've added hundreds of dollars to the repair. Instead, he spent hours with a welding torch, grinder and drill... drilling out 8, half-inch rivets so he would only have to replace the ball joints themselves. The repair came in $150 UNDER the estimate!!!Ric has been doing this a long time and he obviously has a lot of loyal customers. I'm proud to consider myself one of them. A special thanks for Ric, Daryl and Chris for taking such GREAT care of me and spending time (a few minutes after closing time!) to make sure everything was right. My beautiful truck drives like a dream. I highly recommend Ric Henry's Auto Service for any of your car repairs! He'll treat you right!

Highly recommend. My college son who broke down 75 miles away had his car towed in. The problem was a part that had been replaced before. They worked with the garage that did original repair and got it all covered under warranty. They made sure my son had a place to go while waiting for a ride. I was recommended to them from my first call to garages in San Angelo, I sure am glad for that reference

Took my vehicle here on the advice of a relative, hating to go to a mechanic because of poor experiences in the past in other places. Ric Henry's was helpful from the moment I walked in. I expect it helped that I was not broken down, without a vehicle, and needing attention right that second. I was not frustrated, just concerned about my air conditioner. They made an appointment for me on the day I requested, called with information as I asked, worked on it, and picked my husband up when they said they would to take it home. And yes, I had to pay more than I wanted to pay, but not nearly what I was afraid I was going to have to pay. Thanks Ric and guys!

I ve used Ric Henry s for over 5 years on two of my vehicles and spent over 10 thousand dollars at this business and can honestly say you re better off trying to fix your vehicle off YouTube. These guys have let me down time after time. Fantastic, friendly service. Above all, honest. My AC was broken, so I took my car in to a different mechanic and they quoted a $900 repair. Took the same car to Ric Henry, it cost $160. All additional maintenance they recommended was either for safety, comfort, or to extend the life/value of my vehicle. I highly recommend them.

I am not local, so when my car started making suspicious noises, I was dreading going to an auto shop that I knew nothing about and I assumed would take advantage of a female who knows NOTHING about cars. I asked around and a friend had taken her car here and raved about the service and professionalism. She was spot on-- not only was I able to drop my car off and have it done in the course of a few hours, but the service, particularly from Shane, were out of this world. He took time-- after the shop had closed, mind you-- to explain what he had fixed and answer other questions I had about the car's performance. He was so professional and talked to me like a human...not some ditz who needs to have car issues barney-styled. I also overheard him take phone calls and provide THE EXACT SAME high level of service to everyone. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this place. They are honest, fair, and very knowledgeable.

I would not trust Ric Henry to change my bicycle tire! I asked them SPECIFICALLY to check and change my spark plugs. Instead of doing as I asked, they performed a bunch of other stuff and charged me over $400! My Ford Expedition continued to exhibit the exact same engine misfire that I demonstrated to them when I dropped it at their shop. They said that, if I wanted my plugs replaced, it would cost me an additional charge of around $400 or more. They would not credit me AT ALL for the charge I had paid for nothing.I took the vehicle to another shop. The second shop replaced the plugs; and my SUV drove perfectly!I can only deduce that Ric Henry is either incompetent or unethical. There is a third option, which I hope was not the reason why I was ripped off. I prefer not to declare that possibility publicly. If Ric Henry wants to hear it, I ll share it privately.The result is simple...I was forced to pay for uneffective and unsolicited work. Now, I understand why there is always a fleet of shop lien vehicles on their lot!I scored them with one star only because that is the lowest allowed evaluation!!!If you have a significant repair need and Ric Henry is the only place available to do it..........just sell your vehicle!

These guys saved me! I broke down on my way to Austin, TX and I called one of their competitors to see if they could see me that day... and the guy laughed at me like it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard. Ric Henry's squeezed me in, however, with no delay and took my problem seriously. At one point I peeked through the door and saw at least four heads bent over my engine. I seriously thought I was going to be living in San Angelo for a while, waiting on parts or what have you but Shane had the parts overnighted and they got me going the next morning. So happy! On top of that, they gave me a loaner car for the afternoon so I could go get a coffee somewhere, and they drove me and picked me up from my hotel that night! Very friendly guys that care about their customers and prove it with these little extras. Plus they warranty their work and parts for 36,000 miles. Shane even said he'd call me in a couple of days to make sure I got to Austin. Blown away!

Went in to get my water pump and coolant replaced. They told me it would be done that day, then later that night they told me it would be done 9:00am. I was picked up by their driver at 11:00 the next day, and when I get to the shop the truck still isn t done! Took them 10 minutes to even admit they were wrong, and after that kept making excuses like I cannot do my job for everyone.! The guy at the front desk, Shane lied about asking the mechanics about how it was going along too. I would call him and ask what s happening, he would say let me go check. Half an hour later we would have the same conversation and yet I continued to be patient with them! They made promises they couldn t keep, lied, and made excuses about why it didn t get done on time and why Shane lied to me about finding out what was going on. I give them 2 stars only because they got the water pump replaced. Dishonest, unprofessional, and incapable. Don t waste paying their full price if you have any issues like those.

I've never been given such courteous service! They don't pretend like I can't understand the diagnosis of the vehicle. They always explain as much or as little as I need.I've never been given the run-around and their prices have always been lower than the "big-brands" like Firestone or Goodyear.We've used them for several years now and will continue to do so.

I called to inquire about an oil change for a VW Tiguan 2015, oil change was going to be $164. I called the dealership in Abilene and they will charge approx $80. I called back Ric Henry s to see they would possibly match it and the answer that I got was Well I am not the dealership . Very unprofessional to my taste. No incentive to bring my business there.

Well initially they estimated me $2500 for head gaskets then turned around and said $3500 for the same thing.If I estimated someone $2500 I would at least stay within a few hundred of that. They said they would not go any further without informing me, and if I declined I would only need to pay for the Machine shop charge of $500. Dropped the Truck off on a Friday, said they wouldn't be able to get to it until Monday. Spoke to them around 10am Tuesday heard of the price and said I would arrange pick up. Wait this is the best part, they then said I would need to pay $250 machine shop charge (little story change) and the technician wanted near $750 for his time. The $500 original charge to pick up my truck was fine but not when you add another $500. So at this point after you pay $1000 wouldn't you just want to pay the other $2500 to get it fixed.Mechanics and body shops are the reason insurance is so high, think about that.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE .... I went in to get my car leaks fixed after buying a car! they fixed 2 out of three after telling us they could fix all three for 350$ ! then at the time of paying we find out they wont fix one and if they did it would be an additional 400$ ?! when i finally got my car back the front tire was flat they broke my right driver side mirror and blamed it on the person who sold me the car saying it was superglued and it wasnt! they didnt even try to replace it which pissed me off because it didnt arrive broken but was leaving broken! also my car wouldn't start and he tried it and had to rev the gas pedal in order for it to finally start!! letting us know it would be an additional 500$ to fix??? when once again was not a problem when it was dropped off! i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

I am really grateful for the mechanics at Ric's. My truck had been overheating and I tried everything I could to fix it and in the process found a crack had developed in the radiator. I left my truck at the shop last night with a note to replace my radiator and in an afternoon they knocked it out and followed the special instructions I had on the note. When I called, Shane was very friendly on the phone and let me know they took care of what I had asked for and went above that and also replaced a part that had contributed to the truck overheating. Thanks guys!
