Gary s Transmission service molested my 2005 Ram 3500 work truck In order to use the parts on their same year model Ram 3500 dually. After bringing them my truck to have the transmission rebuilt I got my truck back and now I get basically half of the fuel mileage that I had before and the transmission kicks when it downshifts and slips and bounces when I back up with a load. They actually gave me a different model transmission!!! I also have noticed that I just don t have any pulling power and I pull a work truck and trailer full of tree debris for a living. I believe my work is just as important as them pulling their horses that they are so worried about pulling with their truck. I m sure they are getting good fuel mileage in their truck now. Almost immediately after having my truck serviced at their shop, I started having horrible trouble with the engine accelerating uncontrollably and had to spend approximately $4000 replacing parts to find out that the fuel rail sensors had been replaced and were all old and not the factory parts that were on my truck previously. The ashtray smelled like cigarettes and is broken and I don t smoke and I didn t have a broken ash tray hinge either.I would like to say that they are polite while they take advantage of a customer. I gave them 5 stars, until I learned what they did to us.

Honesty, honesty, honesty. After doing lots of reading online with the issues I was having with my 2016 f150 I came to my own conclusion that my torque converter was failing! After having a few minutes with Gary he too agreed that it sounded like torque converter failure. Anyways, I dropped it off and got a call from Gary himself the next day. He hit me with the good news. All it needed was an oil change and explained to me why it was doing what it was doing. He could have told me the torque converter was failing and I wouldn t have questioned it. Turned my bill of maybe a few thousand to sub $400! Thanks again to you and your team Gary!

(Picture for attention) I don t really trust my truck with anyone most of the time i do all work myself but Transmission are a different story to me. I took my truck to Gary and his team and i have to say this is the most honest shop ever! He has my business for aslong as i need services, my truck did something out of the ordinary, took it to him he diagnosed it by the given date that they told me when i dropped it off and he was honest with me by telling me that nothing was wrong with the truck if it were another place they would have made things up to try to get some money out of me. Extremely kind person and staff! I highly recommend this shop!

Got transmission rebuilt on 2015 ram 3500 so far 5k miles in and driving good , however when I dropped off my truck I happened to be on my honey moon, came back home and had to get back to work asap to close out open jobs I had before leaving , was maybe 3 days late or so on picking up my truck. When I picked up my truck I noticed my smaller tow mirrors were stolen from my truck , whenever I told Gary This all he had to say was you had to get your truck few days ago, it was parked inside while it was worked on as if trying to justify the my mirrors being stolen ok . I asked him to please replace stolen glass on the side mirrors , gave him few days and called back to have him tell me that dodge doesn t sell just the glass again telling me I m out of luck for my mirrors after paying 6k to have truck worked on . I hope if my truck has problems before the 20k mile warranty I warranty is up I don t deal with this same unprofessionalism

Honest and professional! My Lexus SUV was getting transmission error codes. Dealership would not change the fluid or even diagnose the problem, only replace for $8k. Gary did an amazing job servicing the transmission and explaining the issue for a great price. Highly recommend them as your first stop!

Dropped of my car on Monday morning to get diagnostic and estimate repair cost, was told that I'll get call back in the afternoon, called 3 times and every time he told me I'll call you back waited to next day and I called again. the lady told me Gary will call you back. After he called back he estimated me $4,500 for a rebuild which is way too expensive and I ended up paying $115 for a diagnosis and no diagnosis was written on the receipt. And found my car parked at the end of the street since he knows that he quoted me an expensive price that I won't agree on it. Very unprofessional

Just a little more than a three other shops that I went to but Gary offered a 2yr warranty (the most I found was 6m), first transmission service is free and he had financing options. He is honest and came highly reccomend by several shops I went to. I had my tahoe back in 5 days and it's running like new. Totally worth it.

Gary s transmission did an excellent , timely and thorough job of rebuilding my 6L90 Chevrolet express transmission and they even beat the competitors price by $2100 . Thanks guys for the excellent work . You received five stars hands down . If any future vehicle of mines needs transmission work Garys Transmission is where I ll be going and it s who I d recommend to anyone in need of a honest evaluation , if you need a new transmissions or a minor repair their awesome.Thanks Guys

Gary and his team did a fantastic job finding and resolving an issue with my transmission that others could not and also found another issue that was causing my jeep to be in "limp" mode dealing with the turbo that another mechanic wasn't able to deal with. Gary and his team were able to fix the transmission (bad wire in the harness) and replace and reconnect a busted turbo hose all for a good price and quick return considering how hard it is to find parts for my vehicle (had the issue myself in the past looking for parts). Trucks transmission was slipping pretty bad. I did my research before choosing a transmission shop to go to. I work in the automotive industry as well so believe me when I tell you that I am very particular when it comes to choosing a shop to do work on my vehicle that I cannot do at my own shop. I read reviews and decided to give Gary a call. He told me a rough estimate on the phone and I dropped the truck off same day. Couple days go by and he calls me with what is wrong with my transmission and told me an estimated time of completion due to parts being ordered. He stuck to his estimate and BEAT his estimated timeline because when I got the call my truck was done I was very surprised. I put a lot of miles on my truck and it performs outstanding and floats down the road. Gary is an honest professional who stands by his work and gets the job done right. After being scammed by Lifetime transmissions repair shop ,I was Leary of finding a reputable transmission shop ,Garys transmission shop name kept coming up with positive reviews . So I contacted Garys and talked to him about my experience with Lifetime transmissions ,he said he's had alot of customers who had work done by them and that he guarantees his work for parts and Labor,long story short .Garys is reputable and professional and a very personable ,answerd all my questions and concerns He had the vehicle done when he said it would be,and at the estimate price he quoted me ,couldnt be more happy with my experience with Garys,I strongly recommend this business !!ThankYou Gary!!!Service: Transmission

Mr. Gary is absolutely wonderful. I took my 2010 Lexus in to his shop to have my transmission looked at. Too make a long story short it needed to be rebuilt and Mr. Gary gave me a quote. Well he ended up having my truck longer than we both anticipated and I would call him weekly for updates and he never got annoyed with me and always explained what was going on. My car ended up being more than he quoted but as a man of integrity he honored his word and only charged me what he originally said. As a single mother and teacher that meant a lot to me.

This transmission repair shop and owner Gary is indeed one of the best automotive companies and people you will ever deal with. His customer service is exemplary and Gary is truly one of the few truly honorable people you will ever meet in the business. He places his reputation on an extremely high pedestal, and he does his absolute best to keep it there. One thing however, is that this man will do you right. It may take some time, so please be patient, but he will not jeopardize his reputation just to push your car out the door. If something goes wrong with your transmission, he will make it right. If it is a internal part that prematurely broke or was inferior that caused a failure, he will stand strong behind his product and work. Gary's business ethics are of the highest degree. He has earned my repeat business, even though he is about 40 miles round trip from me. As long as he is in business, no one...I repeat no one will ever touch any of my cars' transmissions again unless it's under complete factory warranty. I gave Gary only 5 stars only because there's no option to leave more... Super guy, great business.

My transmission on my truck went out and everybody I talked to told me to take it to Gary s Transmissions. So I did. Super nice guy, very honest and a strait shooter. Told me before hand what I should expect it to cost since it was a very intensive rebuild. Gary told me they should have it done in 3 days as long as their was no issues, and he is a man of his word. The 3rd day at 2 pm he called me said it s done! Great guy, great business, great mechanic!! I always prefer to support local businesses and I m glad I did by giving Gary sTransmissions in Katy my business!Service: Transmission

Smith's Auto referred me to Gary's for my Ford F150, they even brought it over their for me so I didn't have to go there myself (very nice touch).Gary had the work done in one day and my truck drives like new, he explained everything to me and I feel he charged me a very fair price for the work involved. Will use his shop for all my needs and will recommend him to all that ask for an honest, reliable and fast shop. Couldn't be happier, much appreciated. BF

I was having many problems with transmissions done by other builders one of which was Monster transmission. With 4 transmission failures I came across Gary s Transmission Service. THIS IS THE TRANSMISSION PLACE YOU NEED! SO STOP SEARCHING FOR THE OTHERS!This place is PHENOMENAL!Read below for why.My blue Ford Explorer was riding on its last gear and Gary was willing to work with me the entire time. I was dreading the rainy day my explorer stopped working.I called him since my transmission was rebuilt by him earlier. Even though I was nearing the warranty end mark, he was willing to take in my car. I witnessed nothing by ABSOLUTE professionalism from a mechanic shop to take this call.As he was working on my transmission, he discovered another issue. He did his best to resolve the issue and recommended another shop.Fortunately, his knowledge and shop network was able to resolve my 2003 Explorer s issue. I waited almost 10 weeks for it to come back to me and it did. It was worth the wait all thanks to Gary s Transmission.At the time I had the transmission rebuilt, the warranty was for 2 years.The price rate was great as well.He deserves to be named one of the Top 5 best transmission mechanics in Houston and Greater Houston area.I live in Spring Branch and I drove all the way out to Katy for his stellar service and you should too.

Gary charged exactly what he quoted on the phone and the repair was done much faster than I expected - he got the car on Wednesday morning and the transmission was rebuilt by Friday afternoon. When I picked the car up and noticed the exhaust was a lot louder than it was before I had the transmission rebuilt, Gary cleared a service bay for me and fixed the problem (a worn out exhaust seal) in just 10 minutes.Gary is an honest guy and true to his word. I hope I never have to have a transmission rebuilt again but if I do, I'm going back to Gary's Transmission.

Very informative and nice from initial contact. Dropped car off sunday evening, was called next afternoon with diagnosis. Received a quote and told 5-10 days. Had my truck back in 4 days. Quote was within $150 of the actual cost. My 2015 Chevrolet 2500 HD with 6.0 gas engine drives smoother now than when I bought it. Getting 2.4 mpg better on gas mileage and it actually sounds a little quieter. It feels solid. Highly recommend this shop and it will be the only place I go in the future.

I've been doing business with Gary for decades. If you're having transmission problems, the man is straight up and will tell you what needs to happen to make it right. Whether it's something cheap and easy or expensive and technical, He's got you covered. If you're having transmission or driveline trouble, that's all he does, and he does it better than anybody.

I had also previously complained about the fact they don't accept cards without a fee. I even left a bad review about it. But as a business owner, I get it. I recently had a client stiff me so I also had to modify my payment acceptance policy. However, I think Garys should have it stated on the paperwork the customer signs when dropping off the vehicle instead of telling them about it because people selectively hear what they want. Other than the payment issue, the transmission has worked flawlessly since the rebuild. Also, we and a linkage issue due to the age of our truck and Gary walked my employee through the repair so the employee would not be stuck at the side of the road. We put around 50K miles on the truck annually and the rebuild transmission works like new.Service: Transmission

Single owner of 2005 F150 with 215K miles , Looked at Jasper Re-manufacture Transmission option and cost was more than my Truck was worth....I did a google search and Came across Gary's Transmission.I drove over and Gary and I took a Diagnostic Test Drive. Within 10 minutes Gary knew what the issue was and gave me a very reasonable cost estimate range to Rebuild. Its always a GREAT sign when there is a LINE of Cars waiting to be repaired! Gary was HONEST, Straight forward, and did an EXCELLENT JOB! Thank you Gary and Team!

Just picked up my 2011 Honda Crosstour AWD from Gary s after they rebuilt my transmission which went out just over 106K miles. I purchased the Honda thinking it would be a car that could be paid off and kept, but as consumers we have accepted that even with all of our advancements, we are not capable of making cars that last like the once did. Very blessed to have found this shop to repair the transmission and hoping it will last many years past the 24-month warranty. Work took much longer than expected so plan accordingly, Gary kept me informed of the progress and setbacks along the way and the car seems to be driving great. I really like these people and look forward to doing business with them many years to come. They will soon be doing a clutch for my sons 2001 Ford Ranger so I will keep you posted!!

Have had two great experiences at Gary's. First time, he fixed my truck the right way after I got burned by a lousy transmission shop on Fry. Second time, he fixed our Explorer. Explorer had some transmission trouble right on the warranty limit about a year later, and Gary stood behind his work and fixed it without charging us a dime. This thing was a real pain and Gary could have thrown up his hands, but was persistent and got it running right. Gary is a man of integrity, and sadly that seems to be a rarity these day.

I live in Florida and have never had the pleasure of having my car serviced by Gary, what I can say is that I needed to call him on the phone to verify the work of a shady individual we had mutually dealt with. Gary took time out of his day to talk to me and give me the best advice on my transmission problems, knowing that I wasnt going to be able to have him do the work. Solid honest advice. Thank you for your time and advice Gary. you are top notch!
