I give South McColl used Auto Parts a 2 star review. If you plan to have a part fixed at this place. Be aware to check check on your vehicle. I took my van to get the transmission changed. The man who was in charge of calling me to let me know about the status on my van. He told me within a week my van would be ready. This place get their parts from salvage vehicles. My vehicle should have been ready ready in a week I took it mid January and had to get my vehicle removed from their shop. I had my van parked for almost 2 months. The gentleman in charge of calling me had told me the part they ordered was wrong then it continued thru out like this until March. I went to pick up my vehicle and took it to Speedy Transmission they were very quick. My suggestion if you want good Costumer Service be very sincere and admit you don't have the part and let customers know in time. I needed my vehicle to attend work.

Worst place ever don't go if your planing on buying a part i bought a transmission here drove my truck here only to have it towed home broken down minus $800 the warranty they offer on parts they don't stand by there word nore recipts and there mechanics are no good plus take way to much time to fix anything 2 transmissions only to find out first one was bad and second one they installed was worst they won't give you your money back ones they have it thats it im currently filling a complain with the city for ripping off customers and taking them to court worst experience ever

I had a real bad experience with them. I told them I needed a 4�4 transmission and the man said they had one and once my jeep was there he calls n said oh i thought it was a reg one. So my jeep stayed there almost a yr and to fine out they put a regular transmission. They lie and cheaters.

I do not recommend doing any type of business here or give any deposits. My father and I gave a deposit of $500.00 to pre order an engine saying it would arrive in 2 weeks and its been 3 months. When we asked for the refund, they gave us the runaround, saying secretary and manager are never there and are unable to get a hold of them.

very friendly staff but this time ii spent 30-40 minutes waiting for a part just to be notified that the car had been cursed , now how is it that there not aware the a car being searched on the computer files does not show up crushed, fortunately there are other salvage yards I would be in pickle if this was the only one. file upgrade required.

Horrible experience.Went in to buy a motor brought it home installed the motor to find out it doesn t work. Ok that s fine I give them a call and turns out I have to take the vehicle over to their place just to see if the motor is installed properly. They see the motor doesn t work so they give me another motor I take it home and then again !!!! It doesn t work. I paid 500$ for a motor they won t give money back but what they can do is give me a good working motor. I called the people again and they want me to take the vehicle back to their place to check the motor is in properly again. It s a waste of money having to keep buying oil and spark plugs and paying a mechanic to install every time they give another motor.I should ve read the reviews before going.All they do is screw people. I am pretty sure they give customers the not working motors other customers bring in.Stay away from this place !!!

I would not recommend this place. The guys at the concierge are always overwhelmed with callers, and they don t properly take down notes on specifics. And when you re on the phone, and try to ask them something, they place the handsets are on their shoulders, without telling you, and they won t hear you, because they re with other callers (basically putting you on hold). On another note, the yard parts pullers are a bunch of hacks. I went to get a Ford undercarriage fuel line hose, and it was rendered completely useless because it was removed from the donor vehicle with the improper tools. The fuel line was damaged, because it was pried off of the vehicle forcefully with something other the proper hose removal tool. The same went with some cowl covers. I went with a yard puller on his cart, I told him I wanted the cowl covers complete with wiper fluid hoses and jet sprayers. They hand me the cowl covers with the hoses all cut up. They won t let you pull your own parts, and you can t go back there without their hack pullers as escorts. Stay away from this place. They re terrible!!!! You ll waste money on gas returning their butchered parts.

Do not purchase parts here.Display on their wall states 35% restocking fee for returned items that are not installed.They do not only not stay true to their statements, they do not allow you to inspect the parts properly; they expect you to run the said part until it fails and then and only then can you take the part back to be exchanged and or get in store credit, you will not get your money back even if it's on paper.To make matters worse they state that you must bring the entire vehicle with part installed so they can verify it was installed correctly and fault was the part itself and not by human error, which is just adding to expense you're already making.Not to mention the very small window of warranty.It's a never ending scam with this place.Stay away.

Great experience here! The guys have a lot of knowledge are polite and very professional. When helping me get a door for my truck,i called around for prices, and they were the best price and good quality of used parts. Very happy with all around experience and service they provide!

Very bad experience. Had transmission replaced. When transmission started leaking from gasket I took the car back since it was still under warranty. I was told that gaskets were not under warranty unless new ones were installed. No one told me that I had to buy the gasket myself to get it install. BUYER BEWARE with this company

First, they don't refund my money sales man are complices to managers always denied he is there and one is there to sign check. I heard of people complaining and I want it give a try and have to bring police for a report on scamming. Wish never go there it was a bad desicion. When is about getting deposits is easy , ask for credit card and charge in a minute the problem os to get your money bak.

Don't come here period. The place reeks of fast money to be made on their side. They sold us a wrong part and rejected for a refund (there's a big sign for no refunds), they even acted stupid that they couldn't understand English. My mistake was not verifying the part... good thing I used my credit card to issue a dispute. Guess who had the last laugh?

The people there are more interested in selling parts and don't really answer questions for customer. Wait time for parts is ridiculously slow, you can be there 2-3 hours waiting for your part. They're a little bit rude to some customers when i was there.

Terrible service. . Brought a transmission for my 2001 chevrolet truck ..was told I had a 30 day warranty ...once it was installed it didn't work ..so I called and was told to pull it to their shop and once there. ..they voided my warranty because I installed it myself. .that's a real crook for you ...so they robbed me of 400.00 and will find any excuse to void a warranty ...it's ok ...i will be taking my business somewhere else. Sooner or later they gonna run out of customers to rob. ...word of advice . Take your business some where else so they don't do that to you ....remember word of mouth goes along way

I bought an A/C control switch and they assured me they sell only good parts that are tested. Turns out It was bad so I took it to A/C techitian to have it installed and It was a bad part so when I went to get it exchanged. They just told it's probably some thing else wrong with my vehicle. Just because they have a sign that reads "No exchange on electronical parts" and You have to take there word that they tested the part and it was working when they tested it, that gives them a right to sell those parts even if they don't work. Anyone can say " Oh yes, we test all parts, just take our word". It's just like if went to a fine restaurant and order a steak dinner and then turns out to be spoiled meat. Then you you call to get it exchanged and they just tell you it was good when they cooked it, so it's not there fault you got a bad steak. Just because of the sign they put up on the wall. No stars from me. Bad Business.

Purchased a transmission & pd. for it. The business mechanics replaced it. Took car home. My personal mechanic checked out vehicle and stated that this company failed to replace the seals as I was originally told they would do and that it was also included in the price. Took car back. Left it for 4 or 5 days. When we dropped off the car it was very hot so we cracked the windows. Went back to pick up car, they had left the windows open and claimed they were not responsible as car sat in their enclosed lot! OMG! Car got wet inside! We went back-and-forth for almost 2 months as family mechanic said it was leaking transmission oil, they denied after they checked it! OMG! They never replaced the seals because they claimed the transmission was not leaking from them. They kept the vehicle on 2 separate occasions for 4 to 7 days. When I would call they claimed mechanic was working on car which was not true. The day we picked up car each time was the day they worked or didn't work on the car. As admitted by the mabager! Shady business, unprofessional manager and employees. NIGHTMARE! Better Business Bureau will know who they are due to bad reputation! I should have read the reviews first!

Dont have a clue of what they have,on there junk yard,there knowledge in cars is very low ,I should of read reveiws,there only 2 people that know and try to help,but all the rest of the people are no stars, at the end got money back I recommend save up money buy new parts junk yards they are only good for body parts, not for electrical or radiators etc .hopefully this location gets there together and straight up the loc.

Very upset . My ONLY car Had engine problems. a jeep . South mccol was 1 out if 2 places who had the motor I needed . Payed more than 1000 dollars on the motor . They were so quick to give it to me . I paid extra for a sesperate mechanic to install it . They did . But the engine was no good . No compression and water in cylinders. They told me it worked great . What a load of crap . When I demanded a refund they weren't so fast to get my money back since the guy would loose his commission they didn't want to return 1000 dollars . They made me waist money on an engine swap . I been without a car for 2 weeks because of them . Worst service ever . Still carless as I'm typing this .

I called ahead for a part and was told that they DO have it and i got a price of $60.. i arrive and im told that they dont have what i need and if they did it costs $10. I am very dissatisfied with their service especially for the fact that i traveled from north McAllen for nothing.ZERO stars

Poor customer service wait time was 3 hours to try to exchange a broken alternator that THEY sold me. Saying that there was nothing wrong and it was my mechanic that just didn't want to do the job.

I bought an alternator and they assured me it was working if not they would return it. Turns out It was bad so I took it to Autozone and Oriley's to have it checked out and I was a bad alternator so when I called South McColl's So called manager Hector to tell him and he said don't trust Autozone Or Oriley's they don't no what the are doing it's a good alternator it's probably some thing else wrong with your truck. So I bought a new one and my truck is now working. I would have been satisfied if he told me bring it by will check it and gave me another one.

Asked for a part they sold me the wrong part went back same day and no one could remember them selling me the part. Then i get a guy that says I shouldn t have bought the wrong one . Bunch of illegals working there ! Very bad service

Avoid this business. They are thiefs. They don't give warranty on electrical parts and don't tell u till u purchase and find out it doesn't work. They don't refund money either. Im out $45 and a part that doesnt work.

This place is not good dont buy they swap parts and exchange them for bad ones and they are not honest definitely suing
