DO NOT COME HERE. Came here to fix an issue with my car. When it was returned to me, my hood was dented and no longer closed fully! As if someone hit it very hard or pushed on it with a lot of force. My hood also was no longer locking or closing fully anymore. MY HOOD WAS FINE AND IT CLOSED! OBVIOUSLY IT WAS. If you drive with your hood unlocked it can shatter your front windshield. It is DANGEROUS. The owner told me after he charged me that my hood was not closing and it was probably some accident I had in the past. As if I had given him my car in that state. As if he didn t break my hood and dented the top of my hood. I would have remembered being in an accident. I would have remembered a DENT IN MY HOOD. I would have remembered MY HOOD NOT LOCKING. But this is the state in which they returned my car to me. It is frustrating to be a woman and get looked at by a man as if I m stupid and I would not know the state my car used to be in. Just because I do not know much about cars, does not mean that I am not aware that my car was messed with, taken care of poorly. I don t understand why the owner would be so careless and put my life and car in danger like this. Do not come to this place, your car might come back WORSE! Dented, and broken. Also they might put you in danger!

My friends fuel pump went out on his van and so we came here to get it fixed. We had to order a tow truck to bring it in and it seem like the tow truck driver was very familiar with this auto shop. We were greeted right away and showed where the car was supposed to be dropped off. It was very important for us to get the car fixed before 5 PM that same day given that we dropped it off at 2 PM. The guys there made it a priority to get her car fixed in time for us. Sure enough The car was ready at 5:30 PM. We were pleasantly surprised with how quick they fixed the issue. They didn t try to sell any other services or maintenance and fixed just what was the problem. Overall it was a great experience and if I m ever in El Paso and need my car fixed these are the guys that I m calling. It is also near the downtown area which makes it extremely convenient for drop off and pick up especially if your tow truck is charging by the mile.

I have been coming here for a few years now and Sam is the man. Reasonable prices and good work. Keep it up. Now Celi's your girl, still reasonable prices!!Update: Regardless of what a couple of people on the Kern Place app say (Karens) University has been & is still good. Yes, I like Sam too, still do and would go see him, if I have to but Jorge, the mechanic that probably worked on most of the cars is still there. True, Celi is not a mechanic nor has she claimed to be but she helps Jorge out where she can and the customers on the price. Hell, if you go get your own oil and filter, she'll only charge you $15 for the change. I also prefer to buy my own parts and have them install them. ;0)

I can't believe my 84 year old inlaws where charge 45 dollars to give them a jump/boost almost right next to the shop its was very cold and these guys saw an opportunity to stick it to the old poeple ! Shame shame!

The people here are just the BEST! I was on my way back to DFW the day after Christmas and I had a belt break on the highway. My search lead me to this shop. I pulled in and explained that my truck had a belt issue and I needed it repaired. The gentleman listened to me rattle off all the info and he was very patient. I was a bit freaked out, as I had to get back on the road as soon as possible. Once I expressed that I needed it done asap, he assured me they would work fast and boy did they! They went to get parts and got me back on the road in an hour. The price was reasonable and he was so reassuring as I know I was a bit of a wreck. They worked fast and got me back on the road so I was able to get back to DFW at a good time. I will forever be grateful to the men there for their patience and good work. Highly recommend!

Be careful with this man. He charged me $750.00 to mess up my car, and he will lie to you and cheat you. The young people that are working there don t know what they are doing. They are practicing how to become mechanics.

Quick and easy. Long story short, windshield washer wasn t working, dealer said it gonna be around $500 to replace the pump, etc. Took it to University, they plugged the hose back in and everything works. Very friendly and professional staff, definitely will be coming back.

Had bad noise and shaking from under my 2003 toyota 4 runner, took it to a place in EP that I had heard about on a local radio station saying they do great work. 3 weeks after they had it they said my U joints were broke and I needed a new drive shaft, said it was going to be 1138.00 parts and labor. I said go ahead, 4 weeks later they said it was ready. Drove it home seemed OK. My parents came to visit a week later, myself and wife and parents were driving on I-10 and a incedible bang happened, almost wrecked as the car lost control, was able to get on airway and get a tow home. Took it to University as it was right by my house. Told the owner, manager to give me a estimate and call me back. They called back in 1 hour and said my U joints broke, I asked the price he said $250 and had it ready the next morning. Not only did they do a great job at a great price but found out the other place ( which will be a very!!! negative review for that location ) but was informed they used used parts for my $1138 repairs. Long story short I will never use any other automotive repair shop, fast friendly honest great price you name it. It's hard to find honest and fair auto repair shops but they are the ONE!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

We stopped here on a road trip from San Antonio to Portland, OR when a reoccurring problem came up on my 2008 Ford Escape. After calling my mechanic in San Antonio and talking through the issue. We figure out the right brake line had a clog that we couldn't fix. For that reason we decided to replace the brake line and the brakes. The mechanics were hard working, honest, transparent, and quick. We haven't had the same issue since we left the shop and are glad that the brake seizing is finally over. Thanks for the great work Magic and team!

I took my car in to get a routine oil exchange (no appointment needed). The guys got me squared away right away, did a great job, and the price was very reasonable. Will definitely be going for oil changes there from now on!Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

My car had issues starting and I called several other auto repair shops in the area who didn t have time for my car. I called University Auto and they immediately fit me in. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix my car. They also rotated my tires and changed my oil. They were extremely courteous and professional. The price of the repair was was very reasonable.

after going to three other mechanics and spending money on partsi did not need, stopped by and spoke to MR. magic.explained my situation and left truck. in about 5days went back and was very pleased to find out the mechanic did a great job. had power restored and running good again. prior to reassembly mechanic showed me the cause of failure causing problem.great mechanic and M. They were able to squeeze in my car and nail the work in good timing. The labor charge is significantly less than other competing shops on the westside. You get the benefit of great work with better prices. Woman at the front desk is knowledgeable and does her best to inform customers on what is being done to the car. they won't take advantage of you and will offer multiple services to make sure the job is done right.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was on a cross country road trip from Florida to Arizona. My car stalled in El Paso. I took my car to this show, which was the closest shop to me, and I received the best service ever! They looked over my car, ran a few tests and checked the oil and said it should be okay. They didn t charge me, but I still gave them a nice tip, and they sent me on my way. I safely arrived in Arizona with no issues. Good, honest people.

I walked in for a free AC check and had questions. The old guy doesn't have patience. He told me "just go! Just go! No!". You'd better hope Luis is there, that guy has patience and understanding, but that old man will not make your visit worth it.

I was driving on Mesa Street with a flat tire and stopped for help at the shop. Luis left everything to help me get to my destination in no time. He changed the spare tire and he was very helpful! Great service! I'm.coming back when I need to. Highly recommended!Service: TiresService: Tires

So university auto used to be the place to go to! Since Cecy has left, not so much. Im in no way hurting, but $75 for an oil change is a little far fetched. When asked about if i brought in my own oil and filter, still got quoted $45. At Martin Tire, where i would expect to get charged more, for full synthetic, im only getting charged $50. With no oil and no filter. Everything included. Heartbreaking that this local business is inflating like that. Sounded kinda sketchy cuz the guy i talked to said owners were out of country, seemed like he was charging whatever he wanted.Service: Oil change

Pure robbery. After Cecy left the price has gone up and down in quality. $75 for an oil change if i bring my own oil and filter. Totally insane. I have heen bringing my vehicle there for over a year and now im sadden to find a new mechanic. Good luck staying open with your terrible customer service, lack of record keeping / orginazation, and sky high prices. Sucks to loose local business.

Magic seems like a good guy but after talking to other mechanics I realize the fix that he did on my car was a bit stupid and wasn't really gonna help.

They seem like very genuine and friendly hardworking people. I've taken my suv there a few times now and they explain to me the process and how much it will range in costs before any work is done. It's also conveniently next to the university so when I had class I could walk to the shuttle near by and come right back after class.

Raul and Marlene understand their customers' needs. I have not been able to get my car fix. My own fault. I dont have the funds to fix it but GOD knows I'm trying very hard to come out with the money I need to have my car fix and back. Mr. Raul has been nice and he told me that soon I will be have what I need ro fix my car.

I used to go to Univetsity auto but now with the new management they don t guarantee their work anymore.. I spend $2000 for a motor leak, I took my car back to them because it was still leaking they keep it for two weeks told me it was fix and they never fix it. The woman that is on the front desk is not reliable. I took my car to another shop and luckily I found Sam working there, Sam is at 4110 N Mesa, Westside Pros Automotive Repair.. for all of you that want to follow an hones, reliable, responsible mechanic.Service: Engine repair

Great group of mechanics. They got to the bottom of our Jeep's issue when the dealer had already thrown his hands up in the air. We sourced the parts ourselves and saved them time and us $$$$. Easy location and the road/trolley construction is a non issue.

I have been bringing my truck here for years and like many of the reviews you read, Sam is the man.Sam is not there anymore. I have tried on 3 separate days to drop my truck off before work at their newly posted hours of 8:30. All 3 times, no one was there to open the shop past 9am. No note posted, no one answered the phone. Very disappointed as this was a place I relied on for years.

Friendly service and fair prices. Their timing is off but we could blame that on Covid or construction, so you may have to wait longer for your car to be done but I thought the prices were very fair and the work was done well.

Very honest work. Fast and friendly service.I stopped by at 9am for an oil change and to get help replacing break lights, I was out by 9:30, services were not overpriced.
