I took my 4L60E transmission out of my 2000 Pontiac Trans Am to Eddie and his crew. I had lost fourth gear and third gear was already slipping pretty bad. When I arrived to the shop I was immediately welcomed by his son Junior. I explained to him my situation and he said no problem bring it in we'll take care of you. A few minutes later the owner Eddie showed up and immediately began to tear down the transmission so that he can pinpoint the problem. Sure enough the three and four clutches were shot and he showed me this physically. I left my transmission there and it only took him a couple days to get it completely rebuild with some performance upgrades. Needless to say Eddie and his crew did an excellent job on my transmission. Once everything was bolted back together again I test drove the car around the block and was amazed at the Quality of work Eddie did, the car was shifting a lot smoother than the original. I will definitely be recommending this shop to anyone that might need their service and I will be going back for some differential work!

I came into town for my daughters special event and had an accident with a curb! My car was out for 2 days and I needed it to get back to Phoenix. After doing some research on transmission shops in the area I decided to go with Superior Transmission Shop after reading all the good reviews. Took my car in the after 2 separate times and they hadn't even worked at it. The first time i took it, they didnt work on it because Eddie said they were backed up with 5 vehicles so we agreed I'd bring it back the following week so he could get caught up. I brought it back the second week and it basically sat in they're lot through out the entire week. Everytime I called to checked up on it, I was told it was being worked on, or that it was gonna need a few more days. I could have taken it somewhere else. Hard to find a reliable shop...even if it's praised with good reviews.Service: Transmission

First time using Superior Transmission Shop. Was recommended to use them by another shop that doesn t do transmissions. Jeep was leaking transmission oil pretty bad. Feared the loss of oil may have caused damage to the transmission. We got it there in time, and just needed a gasket replaced among a few other minor things. Eddie was able to get us in and fixed in a few hours, and the price was reasonable. As a female I always fear mechanics, but I had a great experience here. This shop is owned by Eddie Valenzuela and is in El Paso, Texas. My situation was a loss of transmission in Van Horn, Texas. I first had to get my vehicle towed to El Paso. Due to my circumstances of travel, I had to leave my vehicle with Superior Transmission, rent a car and continue on to Phoenix Arizona. I was told the work would be able to be handled in the approximate one week before I would be returning that way for pickup. So far, so good. I will say right hear that every time I have spoken with Mr. Valenzuela he puts on like he is more than willing to help you as much as he can. My challenges became having conversations with him both before the work was done and after. He said he would get me going and I was able to pick up my vehicle as scheduled and did make it all the way back to Houston, Texas area. He mentioned before I left El Paso that he did install a new TECHM which according to him had to relearn the shifting habits and I might feel some irregularities. I did feel some bumps and what felt like pulls at times, but I figured maybe it was due to that. Once back home I only drove my vehicle a few short distances and was feeling some strange reactions still. As per Eddie's prior suggestion, I took the vehicle to a shop for a follow up inspection. That first shop did drive and and stated it was a bad transmission. I eventually took it to a second shop after some conversation with Eddie who at that time wanted to possibly rebuild me a transmission and send it to me to have it installed. Before we could ever agree on anything firm with that he began ignoring my phone calls. I tried to wait for him to do what he had said and assist with my problems since I had a warranty, but after more than a week of being ignored I spent money again to have the transmission fixed. Afterward I sent him pictures and conversation about 3 items that the other transmission company fixed, guess what, NO RESPONSE. So, recommend to NEVER do business with this company.Service: Transmission

Called in when they opened and Eddie told me they could absolutely check out my car that day. Only had to wait a few hours (on their pretty comfortable couch) and since the problem was just a leaky hose they offered to fix it right then and there. Eddie was super nice and up front about it all. Price for time and repair seemed reasonable, and I'm pretty happy they could get it done on such short notice. Was passing through town on my way back to CA and my 2001 Subaru had been leaking transmission fluid so I figured I ought to get it checked just to make sure my car could at least take me home without breaking down. Made it home without any further leaks.

My husbands truck broke down and I was referred by family to Eddy at Superior Transmission. I called, spoke to Eddy and explained what was going on with the truck. Within an hour Eddy himself came to pick up the truck. Mind you I do not live in El Paso, so it was a drive for him and the towing was apart of the overall cost as well as the testing. The test came back with no errors and he told me to get a better look to see what needs to be fixed, his guys would have to drop the transmission. I gave him my approval. A few days later he called to inform me that the transmission was tired and to get the best out of the truck was to rebuild the transmission. Within a week I was able to pick up the truck. Upon picking the truck up, I noticed the truck was washed, the inside was vacuumed and it was running amazingly. Included in the overall cost, the shop warranties their work. Took the truck back in for the final inspection. My overall experience with Eddy and his guys was beyond my expectations. Thank you everyone at Superior Transmission for making me feel like I was VIP.

After doing my homework on where to take my Jeep . I decided on Superior. I was impressed by the well organized and clean shop. The price was fair and the warranty was for 3 years. I feel I got a GOOD deal and believe you will to. Eddie answered all my questions and delivered my car in a reasonable time. Look no further this is the right shop for your transmission needs.

Eddie has (this far) fixed several of my customers vehicles and all of mine including Off-road vehicles, Toyota Supras, Lexus and Corvettes. Fast working, professional yet friendly and genuinely good people make this shop my go to. If I could give Eddie more stars I would, definitely worth going out of your way to get it done right.

Thanks to Eddie and his highly skilled technicians my BMW now has a new transmission with very good warranty. Superior Transmission went above and beyond. Ive had my car for 4 days now with no issues and it shifts like a dream. They will meet and exceed your expectations. Highly recommend this shop.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Eddie took advantage of my vulnerability with a transmission that I needed rebuilt I May of 2017. I paid close to $3000 and within 6 months the transmission failed. Due to me being active military I had to move to another duty station in Austin Texas. When I called him to explain the situation, I expected him to honor his warranty of 100,000 miles or 3 years. He quickly stated that his warranty is for local only and that he couldn t help me. Keep in mind, my transmission was rebuilt, I paid nearly $3,000, and it had only been 6 months. He told me that the only way that he could help me was to send me another rebuilt transmission but, I would have to cover the cost of another mechanic to drop the old one and install the new one. So, I paid a mechanic $500 to drop the old transmission and I waited patiently for 3 Weeks until I received the so-called rebuilt transmission. After installation of the new transmission all the gears and clutches were already burnt out because, Eddie lied, he did not rebuild a new transmission, he sent me a used one from a junk yard. We researched all the writing on the transmission and we confirmed that it was from a junk yard and there was no filter in the transmission. When the mechanic opened the pan, it was full of metal shavings.Because of this issue I had to spend another $2700 to get a rebuilt transmission, rebuilt again, and it is still under warranty through Eddie but, he didn t honor his side of the deal because I am an active duty soldier who just wants to have a vehicle for his family. He is a liar and do not believe anything he says, he is the nightmares you here about when it comes to mechanics and he is very untrustworthy.If you are military do not go to Superior transmissions with the owner Eddie Valenzuela because all he wants is your money and he does not offer nation wide warranty.If you need something fixed always look for a company that offers nationwide warranty because the odds are if your military, you will be re locating.I don t see how you can sleep at night Eddie and how you run your business. You should be for the customer and want to keep customers, not just scam them out of their money. You should be out of business and everything that you claim on your website and Facebook is completely FALSE. DO NOT TRUST EDDIE VALENZUELA. Always ask for nationwide warranty, if they don t offer it, then find a different shop. I pray that no one else has to go through what means my family has to with this shop.

My husband and I were having a difficult time finding and honest transmission shop in town and a friend told us about superior transmission. They were honest and helped us find the cheapest solution to our transmission problems. Me and my husband decided that trading the vehicle in was our best option and the owner was totally cool about our decision and helped us when we got our car towed from his shop. We would give this shop 6 and our experience 6 stars if we could.

RE: OWNER S RESPONSE Post 2 of 2Eddie, you re absolutely right. I did have the option to pick any shop in town to work on my vehicle. It s unfortunate that I made the mistake of picking yours. I don t know what makes you think that I would give you a 4th opportunity to work on my vehicle when the last 3 times your worked on it, it only lasted a month. I was more patient than necessary giving you months at a time to rectify the issue, when all three attempts failed. My car was in your shop for over half a year. Do you honestly think people have time to wait that long?You told me the last time it broke down you would go pick it up since I was always towing it out of my own expense, and yet you failed to show up. I didn t hear from you so I filed the complaint in small claims court. I lost over $3,000 paying you for a worthless transmission overhaul, towing, paying on insurance while the cars in the shop, and court costs. If you really wanted to make things right, why didn t you reach out to me? WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME WHEN YOU GOT SERVED THE COURT PAPERS?All talk, and no action. I ve accepted the fact that I m never going to get my $2,412.98 back, but hey, I tried. I made an honest effort to take responsibility for my poor decision. I just want others to know that even with the BS warranty, expect your car to be in the shop after it fails, and you should probably invest in AAA or some other roadside assistance. I don t know what I would ve done without it the 3 times the car left me walking. Buyer beware!!! Look at all the other negative reviews here and on Yelp! I wish I would ve read those before giving these crooks my hard earned cash.

I have been a customer of Mr. Valenzuela for a little over two years now. unfortunately, I am very disappointed with him and his work. My transmission recently went out again about a year after he rebuilt it again, it s under his 3 year/100k mile warranty still. I have relocated to San Antonio due to leaving the military so I can t bring my truck to him in El Paso, however he was willing to work with me and build a transmission to have shipped to me here in San Antonio. We were in contact for about a month and a half before he claimed he had shipped it. When I first asked for tracking info he said he d call me back with it and then never returned a call, when I called him wondering why he never called me back, he would not answer my call. A couple days went by and he said they sent it back to him because it had a fluid leak, understandable but why would you ship a transmission full of fluid. So he says it is now on its way again, about a week passes and this transmission still never shows up so I take it upon myself to contact the freight company at which that point one of the associates told me that there had been no record of shipment in the past 30 days, meaning he more than likely never sent the unit. I attempted to contact him several times with no answers. Now I m out $3500 because I had to order a transmission from someone completely different and I will no longer be needing Mr. Valenzuela's services. I was overly patient with him and I m very upset that he abused that patience and mistook it for stupidity. He will most likely be seeing some legal action in the near future, treat your customers with respect. I really wish I could have left you a better review but you did this to your self.

I had a mayor leak on my transmission.Superior took quick and good care of the problem with exact the works I expected. To my surprise much less expensive then what I had investigated. The dealer would have charged me twice the amount. This is the 4th job on 4 different cars I have owned over the years and Superior has never let me down. Good job guys, keep it up !!!!

I had the worst experience dealing with this shop. I took my 2005 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5, 6 speed automatic with 115,000 miles on it to have the transmission rebuilt. I paid them $2,412.98. The rebuild only lasted 4,580 miles and 50 days before I had to have it towed back to their shop. They kept my car for a month and 21 days before calling me to let me know it was ready. They replaced the torque converter under the 100,000 mile/3 year warranty.The second time it failed, it only had 4,152 miles from the last time I took it in. This was also a little over a month, 34 days to be exact. At this point, I m beginning to think their workmanship/decision in parts supplier is only good for 4,000 miles.I arranged for my car to be towed to the shop, just like the other 2 times. This third time it was in the shop, they kept it for 35 days. I live 24 miles away, and after this last visit from picking up the car, the torque converter was failing on the way home. The car would slip out of gear, making it an accident waiting to happen, because it couldn t accelerate normally. Imagine you re trying to cross a busy intersection, or a railroad crossing, and the car won t go.I called Eddie, the shop owner when I got home. Eddie was always apologetic and responded with empathy, but that never fixed the issues I had with my car. He said he would go to my house to pick up the car, but he never did.I got fed up with the whole situation and decided to take them to small claims court seeking my money back that I paid them, along with court costs. Bear in mind the other costs. Being without a vehicle, money foregone on insurance and registration, and the time and effort it takes to arrange towing- they all cost money. Judge Haggerty made the conclusion that as long as he s willing to repair the vehicle under warranty, I would have to keep taking it back to them despite that their work didn t last more than 4,000 miles.I will never do business with this shop again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

These guys are great! We took our distribution car for what another mechanic told us was a bad transmission. They were honest and told us it was just the motor mounts. At first, they recommended only 2 of 3 mounts to be replaced and we saw NO difference but they gave us free labor on the 3 mount because they didn't initially recommend it. Now that the 3rd is changed our car drives like NEW! Thank you Eddie and team!

I highly recommend Superior Transmission. I have only had my Trailblazer SS rebuilt by them for a little while however I couldn't be happier with the way it drives and the service I received. Eddie even took time to explain the process and show me some of the up-graded parts that were going into my transmission. Prices either bet are were comparable to other shops in town, but the personal service is what I enjoyed the most. I will be going back for a project truck of mine. Shawn H.

Have nothing but good to say about Eddie, he did a good job at a fair price. I have recommended him to friends and they have all been happy with his work. Transmissions can be difficult, however they know their stuff and I believe try hard to get it right. I'm going to take him another transmission this week for rebuild, and will continue to refer him.

Took my car in and after 4 weeks they hadn't even looked at it. I called every week and spoke to Eddie he told me they were waiting for a lift. On the 3rd week he said they were going to diagnose it an call me the next day, No call..So I waited another week and called back. He put me on hold for a long time, hung up and waited.. he never called back, I picked up my car 2 days later. I wish they had told me that they were to backed which is what I assume. I could have taken it somewhere else. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Sometimes its hard to find a reliable shop...even if it's praised with good reviews.

Had my torque converter done here and my baby runs great now, no issues. Great customer service, kept me informed throughout the two days of service. Eddie and Robert answered all my questions and explained everything in detail. This is an honest and trustworthy shop which is hard to find to in EP.

Eddie has been very helpful. I needed a new clutch in my car, I told him the problem over the phone and he told me what I needed. Then he sent a tow truck to pick up my vehicle for free! Car should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. I would highly recommend Superior Transmission.

This was the worst expierence I have ever had working with a mechanic. First he told me that he would have it done a certain day when I called he kept telling me a later time in the day and was not being honest with me at all on the progress of my car. The day it was supposed to be done I went in and waited for it to be done. I was left in the waiting room for 4 hours with no update of my car as well as finding out that the owner had left for the day without any communication given to me on the progress of the repair. I then waited another 2 hours to find out that it wouldn't be done for another day. He left me and my family out in the parking lot an extra half hour before the owner would even approach me to let me know about my car. When I confronted him he would not give me a straight answer. Owner does not know how to run a business or the importance of communication with his customers. Would never recommend this place to anyone!!

I don't usually do this but I took my car to superior transmission about 2 months ago and at first they worked with me I needed the car done in a couple of days for a trip back home for court, they got it done but when I paid for the vehicle and picked it up I drove it two miles and the car completely gave out on me. The transmission had wires still disconnected they had carelessly dropped my starter and tried to hide it, the owner is continually disrespectful. They do good work, but you have to continually hound them about your vehicle.

Overall fantastic service, the staff was able to meet a tight deadline that I had given them for my truck. They rebuilt my transfer case, repaired the rear differential and balanced and repair my driveshaft all in a 2000 dodge 2500 4x4. I would go to them again and refer others to the location for repair or performance modifications to the transmissions, transfer cases, or differentials.
