I went to McKay s to have my vehicle looked at before I began the second leg of my road trip. I started in Illinois and had done much of the East, so it was about time to have the liquids looked at. I came into McKay s thinking my only concern was that my battery might need a replacement. Chad and his workers discovered that my front lower control arms were completely rusted out. Now, before they even had looked at my vehicle, Chad had expressed genuine concern for my well being and safety as I head along on my trip - he even took the time to try to teach me a few things about taking care of my own vehicle. Well, that kindness extended after they discovered the issue, with thoughtful advice about how to proceed forward. My options were to try and find the part (difficult when your vehicle is over 20 years old and you re on a time crunch) or sell. Well, Chad managed to find the part and have it sent and put on within three days, allowing me to keep to my schedule. I highly recommend going to McKay s for any of your service needs. My aunt and uncle have relied on them for 17 years, and I see for myself why that s the case.

Both my fiance and I have brought our vehicles here in the past two years and I have nothing but good things to say about this shop! They are exactly what you're looking for in an automotive garage: Honest, courteous and reasonable. They thoroughly explain what they're doing and why it's important to the service of the vehicle without a whole bunch of technical lingo. I also appreciate them referring us to other professionals they trust when the work is beyond what their garage can handle.Most recently we brought my fianc�'s Ford Escape in to have the air conditioner worked on; Since he has owned the vehicle, the air conditioner would only blow hot air on the driver's side and barely cool air on the passenger side, which is miserable at best in Texas summer weather. These guys spent many, MANY hours troubleshooting and researching the problem, finally identifying what parts and voodoo were necessary to get the problem fixed. Now we finally have functioning air conditioning in his truck and I don't believe we could have paid a better price or recieved better service anywhere else!

I wanted to say that I received excellent service from McKay's automotive. The people at the front desk were very courteous and professional. The car was under a silver-rock warranty and the warranty did not pay for the service that was needed. Mr. Phillip, and Kurtis was able to give a good rate to fix the car and was able to get the car running good as new. Also a special shout out to Eddy for repairing the car with the unique problems that the car presented with at the repair shop. I will bring any car that I have back and strongly recommend them to future customers.

Went to McKay's Champion location and Eric the Shop Manager was the one to take care of me. This was my first time going there as they were recommeded to me by a good friend of mine. Eric helped me with my Nissan Versa problems and knew exactly what to do. He was extremely respectful and polite. He made me feel very welcomed and explained to me what he was going to do for me. The price was very reasonable and definitely won me over as a customer. I highly recommend them to anyone for their auto needs. A+++ service!

Exceptional Service!! I want to thank Eric for his honesty and professionalism while servicing my vehicle. I ran over something on the freeway and thought I had put a hole in the oil pan which would have cost me hundreds. He honestly told me the hole was in the filter. With that information I was able to add extra work that was needed on my vehicle. He didn't prey on my worst fear ( a woman to be taken advantage of for lack of knowledge). I will always return to McKay's for any future repairs.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Everyone in this industry has worked here. They no longer do for a reason. They pay young kids to do work they are not qualified for. Very dishonest owner McKay is. If you need a job check anywhere but here you will only make 400 a week if you lucky and have to work all day. I mean sit around all day. This place is what give auto repair shops a bad name. Took my 11 year old car in to have the air conditioning checked. After they reviewed the issues, they call to let me know to FIX it, I needed to replace the compressor ($2,000 fix). McKay's spent 15 minutes to talk about the age of the car, other issues my car could face any time and what were the minimum options to get cold air but not like a new car ($400 fix).I appreciate the time they spent reviewing the issues and based on the age of the vehicle was it really worth it.I have dealt with McKay's for service several times in the last 5 years. I find them trust worthy and reliable.

Don t bother coming by they are always either gone for the day, have people out sick, or have broken equipment. Currently the mechanic is also the guy who mans the front desk, so he was running around even though there was only one car in the giant, empty garage. Last time I went I was told I needed pads and rotors but that was a year ago, and they are still hanging in there so I think they still have time to upcharge you , they just don t have time to do anything else. Wil not be back and after today, I don t hold out much hope for this business in the new normal .

A friend recommended McKays Automotive to me, after I lost my husband, and really needed reliable car service. I have had my cars serviced there for 3 years, and have always found them to be reputable, and the services rendered to be exactly what I needed. My cars each have in excess of 150,000 miles, but I feel they will continue to run well because of McKay's excellent service and trustworthy advice.

I've been going here for years and it's always been a great experience. Even when I've had my child with me...they've put on Disney movies for me before, and I almost cried I was so grateful. Great service, I've never felt hustled or overcharged, and really nice people. Definitely recommend McKay's!

My Jeep has been giving me trouble and Eric and his crew have inspected every code end to end including anything else it could have been. They never do any work until they've thoroughly explained what it is and what it isn't and what it could be. I was really disappointed with my experience after reading all the positive reviews.Long wait only to find out the machine to fix wheel alignment wasn't working and nothing could be done that day. I was ok with it at first because it's something we can't control.I bring it back and it still takes over 2 hours for a wheel alignment and cost $281.Not only that but they were willing to leave the keys in my car if I didn't come in time.I've never had a place suggest that so someone could just take my car.Would rather find a different establishment.

I give a billion thanks to this McKay s. My car stopped on me so I had to get it towed. First I got it towed to Firestone and they told me I needed an entire new fuse box and a new battery, I decided to get a second opinion at McKays, my fuse box and battery was total fine. My car stopped on me because I needed a new ignition switch!!! Among other minor repairs! When you pay someone $100 to do a diagnosis on your car, they need to look at the entire car, and that s exactly what McKays did. Billboard states "free ac check" . Older man was trying to charge me for the "free ac check"I walked out and drove to a different mechanicResponse to reply:I know that the addition of freon is my responsibility.I was told that it was a $79 charge to LOOK at my air conditioning system from your shop. I had another mechanic check my car out, he informed me of the issues, and received my business. Thank you for your response however.Thank you for your response

I've been taking my vehicles to McKay's Automotive for years! They do a great job in a timely manner and always provide excellent customer service! Nick Zahn & Cory Hill always make sure the job is done, and done right! I highly recommend them!

Very nice. Just came in for an oil change, but they were transparent about what they're doing and went out of their way to show me things to look out for on my car without any pressure to do something about it immediately. It feels a lot better to have a heads up on potential problems instead of it just being thrown in my face when something goes wrong or the next time I'm just trying to get an oil change. Definitely coming back here from now on.

Sure the parts online are cheaper, but does that include the help of an expert to identify what part you need? Does it include quality dealer grade parts, or cheap knockoffs? Is that delivered price, or do they add $40 for next day delivery for each part? I just came from McKays where I had limped in with a broken belt on my 06 Jetta. Turns out there was a broken pulley, and as might be expected on a car with 150K miles, they recommended replacement of 4 pulleys (if 1 goes out the others can't be too far behind) and a coolant system check (if you've lost a pulley your car is likely to have overheated or at least come close). I knew my car very well because I do most of my maintenance and light repair myself so I asked to talk to the mechanic and listen to the other pulleys. I decided not to do the other pulleys, and knew that I hadn't stressed the cooling system when I brought it in so I didn't do that check either. Nick had no problem with my decision, he worked hard to find the parts and get them there quickly. My mechanic Bryan went above and beyond his job by buttoning up some under car trim that I hadn't properly reinstalled after my diy car repair efforts and even spent some extra time answering unrelated questions about other creaks and groans my Houston beltway beater has been experiencing. They charged me an honest price, and gave me a 2 year warranty with a towing voucher as well. Look, if I was the type of person who had never seen my engine since the day I bought the car, then following McKay's advice would have helped me ensure that I wasn't going to get stranded anytime soon. Because I'm willing to get under my hood, and I understand my cars systems very well, I saved a bit of money on this visit, but I still took a calculated risk. I'm confident McKays did everything I asked and more and charged me a fair price for it. What more can you want from a good Mechanic?

As usual, the gentlemen who work at McKay's treated me with respect and explained everything in detail. They quickly diagnosed and fixed my car...I got it back within 24 hours. I will continue to return to McKay's any time I have an issue with my car.

I took my Jeep in to have the brakes checked. The sign outside says "free checks". They called and told me I needed new pads and my rotors cut down. It would be $360. I said ok, go ahead and do it. They called me a few hours later, and said now they can't machine the rotors and it was going to be $130 additional per axle. So almost double what they originally quoted me. I said no, put the car back exactly how it was. I get there to pick it up, they then tell me it was really just the front rotors that needed to be replaced (not all four like they said on the phone) and that I owed $178 in labor. For my free check. I've used this place many times before, never had a problem. It seems they've had a change in management, and I won't be coming back after this.

Craig and Eric were very helpful and very professional they answered my questions. I came to get my brakes repaired. They showed me some oil leak problems that I have. And did the repairs quicklyThey have always treated me professionally. I will refer all my friends to come here for all automotive needs

Great place. Took my mustang in to have them look at a noise from the rear end that another shop was unable to diagnose. They were able to isolate the problem and get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time and good price.

I went here to get my tires rotated (because they were the only place open at the time) and they didn t bother telling me two tires needed to be replaced. Discount Tire is the best place to go for wheels and tires and Cliffs Automotive for overall honest work.

We are "The Nate to Trust" One call does it all. --- I like that words...."full service"...and they will break it apart and they wont tell you...they wont tell you exactly the problem or they will add more problem, always going around the bush....this shop in cypress is so unbelievable...some people here are so rude the way they talk...they always take advantage of people they think dont know about cars...please please please...don't bring your cars here...they will suck-up your money and still the problem is not fix...they will keep going around the bushes as long as they can...they will tell all the lies....gosh!

I took my vehicle here on two separate occasions. The first time, they told me I needed to have my tie rods replaced. I knew this was false because I just had them replaced. The second time, I took it in for an oil change, they told me the oil pan gasket needed to be changed and charged me nearly $700 for the work! They also overfilled the engine with oil and forgot to change the oil filter.

I went there with a problem that another shop couldn't fix. Javier and his crew made the repair and did it for free. It was above and beyond. I have had them previously do both routine maintenance a major maintenance items on 3 cars, and been pleased with the results.

Very horrible takes advantage of people who brings their car in for a honest assessment and tells them they need parts which they don t also tries to do work under the table so they can pocket the money car hasn t been the same since taking it to this place. If you do go here stay and watch their every move just wrong

Had to have this shop go over a job I really should have had done at the dealership in the first place. They let the repairman go after the damage was done. It cost me thousands in repairs and unrealistic Uber Fees.

I saw this place while driving by. I called and after speaking with Phillip I knew that this would be the best place to care for my vehicle. Check in and checkout with Curtis made my decision even better.. My experience was exceptional. Thank you .
