I called Boerne Automotive as I was looking for a local repair shop that would work with my 3rd party warranty. When I got them on the phone, they seemed very helpful and eager for my business. I felt very comfortable dropping my vehicle off knowing that they would take care of me. That s where everything went downhill. They called me back and let me know that one of my O2 sensors was out. I asked that they contact the warranty company and get back to me on the coverage. The contacted me a few hours later saying it was covered (the one bad sensor), but that they (Boerne Automotive) recommend I change all 3 sensors (though not required). They also noticed through further diagnostics that I had an oil leak, but that was also covered by the warranty. They let me know I would be responsible for my warranty s deductible and roughly ~$100 in fees that Boerne Automotive charges that aren t covered, but no big deal. I was told that my vehicle repair would be completed by the following day. The gentlemen then proceeded to let me know that due to the mileage of my vehicle (over 100K), he recommends a tune-up, which consists of X, X, X, X, and costs over $1000. I explained to the gentlemen that it was the holidays, and I already wasn t prepared for the addition $400 for the repair and that I would pass at this time. He then asked if I would at least replace the spark plugs. The way in which he asked was just a blatant way to make additional money. My car didn t have a misfire or any issue, and I understand the recommendation, but I had clearly let the gentlemen know I was money conscious due to the holiday. The following day I received a call and was notified that there were additional repairs that needed to be done because of the oil leak. I asked what that additional cost would be assuming it was something that was absolutely necessary, and I was told $125. Thinking they were calling me asking for authorization to make the repair, I asked how much longer this would take and when my vehicle would be ready. The gentlemen then informed me the vehicle repair was complete and my car was ready for pick up. They took it upon themselves to add an additional $125 in cost w/out my knowledge or my approval. These guys are extremely pushy and make repairs w/out your approval or knowledge. I ll never bring another vehicle to Boerne Automotive.

I had an outstanding experience at Boerne Automotive! The service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they went above and beyond to fix my car efficiently. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fair pricing. I highly recommend Boerne Automotive for all your automotive needs. Went in to have brakes checked on my wife's car. Lionel showed me I has 50% life left. Did a transmission flush as well. Car good to go in 2 1/2 hours. I spent thousands of dollars at this shop only to have the same problems I took the vehicle in for. Coolant leak that never stops. I received a Tune up here now the vehicle has error codes due to it. I changed my brakes here only to still have brake problems. I have tried to give the vehicle back for them to correct it only to receive it still put of service. This is for a 14 Mercedes gl550. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!! DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANY REASON! DON'T BELIEVE ME? READ THE REST OF MY REVIEW! First, I came in for my front, left turn signal ("blinker") lightbulb to be replaced because it was out. I had about an hour and a half before a doctor's appointment in San Antonio and I asked if they could replace it quickly. They said it would take an hour at most. I was the ONLY customer there. I agreed to let them replace the bulb and the guy helping me at the desk said my hood wasn't opening correctly. ONE: why are you looking at the hood for a blinker light??? TWO: it works perfectly, because I had just opened it a little over a week ago. I just said that's not what I'm here for. Anyway, about an hour passes by and my car is six feet off the ground, the guy up front who turns out to be the owner is nowhere around, and NO ONE IS WORKING ON MY CAR. I finally called the business number which was connected to the owners cell phone and he said he had to go out and get a bulb. Well too bad! I need my car! I asked him to tell the staff to bring the car down and let me leave with it. He agreed and about 15 minutes later I had my car. One guy put the car together (why did they have to take off the whole bottom?!?!) and the others laughed and gave me looks while I watched them. On the way to SA, I noticed the right blinker did not work now but the left wasn't indicating a problem. I AM SURE they put the broken bulb in the other light! Probably so I would have to come back and get the one fixed when it broke, which en inevitably would happen since they used a broken part. DO NOT EVER COME HERE! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! I am lucky I got away without spending a penny unlike most of the others who reviewed this deceitful business.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Lionel is very professional. I know I'm an awful customer because I have high expectations. Boerne automotive exceeds those expectations, for less than the competitors. I never take my vehicle to the dealership or anywhere else if I can help it, but I never worry when my vehicle is here.

Honest shop! Highly Recommend!We were moving from San Antonio, Texas back to Sacramento, California. 1,750 mile drive. Heard noises in the front that sounded like bad wheel bearings. Not wanting to risk endangering myself and drivers around me, I stopped at Boerne automotive to have it checked out. They test drove my 2015 Camry and then put it up on the lift. Turns out my car didn t need wheel bearings after all. Noise was caused by a loose cover under my bumper. The guy working didn t charge me at all for his time. Not sure if he was the owner/operator or just a worker. Very honest and trustworthy! I Highly recommend this shop!Service: Vehicle Inspection

Best auto shop in Boerne. They rebuilt my transmission and worked on my engine internals for my truck. Had a cylinder fail bc of the head. They also were able fix my electrical issues for all the lights on my vehicle. I use to take my truck to Boerne Ford. NEVER again. Pulled into this auto shop because I had a flat tire and was not safe to drive any further. I Kindly asked the man if he could help me fix the flat. He rudely stated he was too busy to help. I told him I would pay for the service but he still declined to help. I then walked back in to ask for a manager's contact and he immediately asked why, I told him it didn't regard him and wished to speak with someone else besides him. He then told me to get out and that it was safe to drive somewhere else. Luckily I have Triple A and they were able to get me towed out of there.The entire conversation he was rude and dismissive. I have never received such awful customer service. DO NOT go here.

I came to this automotive shop to fix a barring on my tundra, in the entire time I have owned my truck I have never let anyone do any work on my truck due to the rumors you always here about mechanics. So reluctantly I took it in having faith he would do a good job considering the reviews. After receiving my truck everything seemed fine but after 24 hours the issue was worse then it was prior to dropping the truck off. My wife was driving the truck and stated it felt like the wheel was going to fall off. So we called the owner and had to bring the truck back driving slowly to get there. He seemed reluctant but he stated he would take it all apart again and take a look at it and also balance the tires and have it ready in 24 hours. This afternoon I gave him a call due to not hearing from him all day. He informed me that he didn't get to it and won't be done until Monday. I am beyond frustrated and quite frankly feel robbed. He is giving me the run around and now I can't trust a single thing he is saying. If I could give a negative star review I would. This is the worst mechanic experience I have ever had. Stay clear of this crook!!!!

Thank you Boerne Automotive! Needed a truck fixed in a hurry due to a family emergency. Lionel was able to pull out all the stops and get it done same day. Bernie automotive really came through for me. I needed a diagnostic and service desperately. My timing was tight because my extended warranty was about to expire. Bernie automotive took my vehicle in did the diagnostics applied for the extended warranty and changed a $1,500 bill to a $150 bill to me. They did the work quickly and professionally and their customer service was excellent. Bernie automotive is now my go-to shop.Services: Electrical, A/C installation & repair

A few months ago I took my F350 there to have an alignment done. They called me back said it needed additional suspension work upwards of an additional $300, but I would have it back that day. No such luck, I would have to wait another day for the work to be completed. I began to drive it home and noticed it was still pulling to the left. I chalked it up to road slant and drove it for another day with no improvement. I then took one of my other vehicles on the same roads and of course there was a very noticeable difference. I returned to Boerne Automotive and expressed my concerns and was told they have done all they could. I took it to another alignment shop and paid the additional cost, but low and behold when they were done (in a few hours) I left there and immediately drove the previous roads but this time it drove straight and true.More recently my son took his van in to have the engine checked for misfire. They charged him $1600 to change the plugs and ignition coils. I thought that was extremely high and looked at the receipt. All looked normal / fair (plugs and labor) until I saw what they charged for ignition coils, $222 EACH!!! I of course went to google to see what they would normally cost. To my surprise I could buy COMPLETE SET OF 6 for $250 from multiple different sites. Just to be sure I also contacted 3 other automotive maintenance shops in the same area (Fair Oaks, Belden and one other) and they both told me they were available for $100 each. One store went as far as to tell me it is extremely rare that you would need to change ALL the ignition coils. They would have identified the exact coil causing the issue and replaced just that one.Bottom line is if you want to pay DOUBLE or more what other shops charge or have to take it to another place to get it done right, then this is your place. As for me and my family, we will NEVER return to Boerne Automotive.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment

Great service and value. They provided so many needed repairs on my Toyota Sienna that going to the dealership was going to cost more than DOUBLE the amount Boerne Automotive had charged me. They way overcharge and have hidden fees that are very unclear. Told me it would be over $800 just to take the transmission apart with no additional estimate. Had my brakes done there and costed me over $1,800 on a small car. My experience at Boerne Automotive was great. My vehicle was originally at a dealership and unable to be driven. Boerne automotive offered to tow the vehicle for free and complete the repairs needed after the agreed price. The outcome was great. They saved me a great deal of money and had my vehicle completed the next day!They brought me the parts that were needed to be replaced and explained in detail what happened and how to prevent it in the future.I highly recommend them!

We broke down and they arranged a tow for us. They diagnosed it and it needed a new fuel pump and fuel regulator. The price to do both and a new fuel filter was $1300. Very friendly staff even drove us to and picked us up from a local hotel. Highly recommend!
