Well an update to the work that was done 3 months ago to my mustang. The AC actuator they said they fixed to stop the clicking noise? Well it was quiet up until it started clicking again about a month or so after I got my car back. Not happy!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Took a vehicle I was intending to purchase from a private owner to this location and they were able to assess the work needed on it very quickly, within the same day. Similar to my previous experience at their Helotes shop, they gave me a rundown of the necessary work which bridged the gap between their mechanical understanding and my very casual knowledge of the simplest things under the hood in a way that was phenomenally helpful. Between the speed of service, mechanical knowledge, helpful explanations, and accessible diagnostic costs, I heartily recommend this shop to anyone in need of auto work.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

Alternator went out on my car and was left stranded. 2 Fat guys was the only place opened at the time. Was able to get my car towed and dropped off the next morning. Alex was helpful and honest. He suggested that I get my car diagnosed and go from there. After telling me everything that was wrong with my vehicle and I only asking for specific work to be done Alex didn t push me or force me to go any further. They got my car done in a day! Stuff breaks down and life just throws a wrench at you from time to time but these guys helped me out.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

My 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee needed struts and shocks. 2 Fat Guys gave me the best upfront quote, got me in right away and had it done before noon the next day with no unexpected charges. They also did a comprehensive check for free and found a few things I need to take care of (Jeep Dealer will charge $125 just to look at your car).Alex was great to work with and is a man of his word. This was my first experience with them. I'll be going back.

This is the worst mechanic I have ever dealt with.I brought my truck in under an insurance claim after a bad blowout on the highway. When my tire blew it did damage to my fender flare, my rim, as well as some damage to some mechanical components.I chose to use Two Fat Guys because they were local and they told me that they did both mechanical work and body work, so essentially, a one stop shop for my situation. BIG MISTAKE.First things first, they told me it would take 2 weeks to completely fix my truck. It took them over 4 weeks. The customer service was horrible. I was constantly having to call in to receive updates, and the guy at the front desk, who typically answers the phone is not pleasant to deal with and makes you feel like you're bothering him for trying to see what is going on with your vehicle. So after a miserable 4 weeks I finally get me truck back. Not even an hour into leaving the shop my truck breaks down at a red light in the middle of San Antonio. 2 fat guys sent a tow truck at their expense, as they should, but never once did they apologize or try to make light of what was now an even worse situation. Don't worry, it gets worse. So, roughly a year after my truck has been out of their shop, I was driving down the highway and the fender flare they replaced, randomly flies off my truck onto the side of the highway. I took my truck into see what could be done, and this is where things get nasty. They tried to tell me that the 5 bolts fastening my fender flare to my truck came loose because I drive down bumpy roads. Mind you, I have 3 other fender flares that have been on my truck since it left the ford factory 180,000 miles ago, NO problems. I took my truck to another shop for a second opinion, and they told me 2 fat guys simply forgot to install the bolts, and there was no way 5 bolts can mysteriously go missing just one year after repair. All I wanted was for them to cover a new fender flare and fix it. I thought this was reasonable after the miserable experience I had in the first place. At this point they told me that they would look into a fender flare for me and just fix it at cost. Ok, whatever. Well another 2 weeks go buy and I hear nothing from them. I found myself calling them to get an update only for them to tell me they're having trouble finding it, and whatever other excuses they used.Well here I am now, a couple phone calls and yelling matches later, writing this review to warn everyone to NOT USE 2 FAT GUYS. WORST MECHANIC IN TEXAS. Horrible customer service, awful quality in their work, and horrible communication. If you ever need any mechanical work done to your vehicle steer clear of this place so that you'll avoid a potentially miserable experience similar to mine.

Took my truck here after I bought it to get it checked out. Awesome garage and was very quick to see what was wrong with the truck. Had my truck here for 4 weeks as it turned out it needed some major repairs doing. Not the cheapest but certainly fixed my truck and it s been running strong since. I had questioned them a few times on the price of parts and where they d get them from but was always told they couldn t tell me who they got them from. The guy behind the front desk needs to cheer up a little bit too.

Putting aside the rude service and terrible follow through (including twice when I was told I would be called in ten minutes and actually was not reached until several hours later), the inspection of my car was concerning to say the least. After taking my car elsewhere, I was told that a few of the things that Two Fat Guys asked me to pay a hefty amount for were either not recommended for my car or did not need to be done. The man who was behind the counter was frequently short and rude as if I was putting a damper on his day by having my car in there.I realize that a $1,200 bill for my car is not a large sum for an automotive care center, but I thought that it would at least buy me a little better service. Thankfully I found Lone Star Automotive which did a much better job analyzing my car and was able to get my price down to $850-parts, labor, and tax included. Two Fat Guys did offer to price match but I didn't want to keep my car where it was not wanted. When I went to pull my car and move it to another location, at no point was there any attempt to restore the damage that had been done. I realize that this is often code for a monetary refund, but I would have been happy and could have potentially kept my car there if there could have even been a simple apology. Instead, when told that I was going to be moving my car to somewhere that I felt had better service, the gentleman behind the counter chuckled and just said "okay."They were more interested in where I was moving my car to than why I was moving it.

This place was good when i first started taking my work vehicles to them. Then Alex's dad (alex being the guy behind the counter) quit coming around and unfortunately the quality and customer care dropped. They need a senior tech to keep a better eye on this place. There are no checks and balances just two younger guys on their own. Thanks for all of the good service you provided.

I was making a road trip from Houston to Tucson, Arizona with my ill father in an RV I bought on eBay as a Christmas surprise for my family. Just outside of San Antonio, we blew a tire and were fortunate to get off the exit where 2 Fat Guys is located. We saw the Goodyear Tire sign and stopped in without knowing anything about the place. The folks there were great! Even bought us a pizza as we waited for the tires (all them needed replaced) came in from San Antonio. Guys we all friendly and did their best to help us in a desperate situation. The price seemed very fair and we are satisfied and greatly appreciative. They could have easily ripped us off if they wanted, but the tire price was the same as the best deal we could find on the internet! Good people, friendly, and honest!

Paid 65 dollars for a dignosis of a misfire. They proceeded to tell me I needed all my fluids replaced (which I had just done), new spark plug wires (which were just done) and that I would have to replace spark plugs for 300 dollars before they could tell me if I was going to need new coils. Spark plugs in it were brand new but they showed me where one had cracked. 300 dollars to replace spark plugs was enough for me to know that I am never doing business here. I shouldn t have even paid the 65 dollars as they never did dignose the problem. Complete scam shop. Avoid them! I guess because I was dressed in business attire they assumed I knew nothing about vehicles and they could take advantage of me. They are the reason mechanics get a bad name.Update - I changed my own coils and spark plugs in 45 minutes for $250 dollars in parts. God knows what they would have charged me for new coils. He just said oh that s very expensive. I bet it would have been.

They charged me $282.53 for heater hoses that NAPA Auto Parts (where they bought them) lists for only $89.99 retail! Instead of rolling the diagnostic cost into the repair bill like even dealers do, they added that charge! They charged labor costs of over $150.00 for labor that didn't even take one hour! Bottom line: stay the hell away from Boerne, Texas.

They had the car over 2 weeks, they never called when they said they would if I wanted to know what was going on I had to call. Then the bill was much higher then they indicated it would be. I will never go back and would advise others to do the same.
