Most honest and best place to take your car. I wont go anywhere else. Sherman knows about I guess every car because I have taken him everything from Dodge van to BMW an he knocks it out of the Park. Great to find honest knowledgeable people.

We took my husband's truck here for transmission repair. We told him what we thought could be the issue. He fixed that and didn't do any other diagnostic work. Less than a week later broke down again. This man is a rip off. People said they would've told me to not take it there. When I called him he said I fixed what you told me was wrong. I said I am not a mechanic though. He did nothing to fix the problem. People like him shouldn't be in business and if I could give him zero stars I would.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

Just got in to town for vacation and AC just stopped blowing cold air. Sound familiar? I checked all my fuses and relays. Did all kinds of research on the Internet to determine that I have no idea what my issue is and that the fix was likely out of my league. Of course the Ford dealership was booked 2 weeks out. Another place we called didn't have any availability the week we were in town.This is where Sherman, the Manager at Sure Start saved us. I called Sure Start, Sherman told me to bring it over and that he had 3 customers ahead of us. Having limited other options, I drove over right away. Pulled up to find him working outside on another vehicle. He took a quick break to diagnose my problem and within 10 minutes verified that my freon was good, however my AC clutch on the compressor was bad. He took the time to show and demonstrate the issue to me. He immediately called a guy and found a compressor, quoted me a reasonable price, told me to drop it off the next day and told me when he would have the work done.In the end, he had it fixed when he said it would be done and the price was right. I found Sherman to be a straight shooter, tells you like it is, and is of integrity. While this is definately not your dealership service mechanic (a little bit off the beaten path and garage has alot going on), Sherman helped us out by giving me confidence in his work, setting expectations and delivering on those expectations at a fair price. Rally appreciate what he did and now we have AC for the remainder of our vacation and the ride home.Thank you Sure Start!!!Service: Air conditioning

Sent my car in for my neutral light flashing. Get it back from this shop 2 1/2 months later and $2000 spent for a with a new radiator and neutral light still flashing. Still won't shift down in 1st or up to 4th. What a joke this place is!!!!

We had his tow truck come get our car from side of the road. Our car started and stay running fine with a loud knocking noise. He called and said that our motor was blown, and metal shavings in the oil. My husband checked the oil before it got towed and at that time there was no shavings in oil. The guy that owns the shop won't even call for our claim so I can get a rental. He's really hateful guy, and I feel like he is not being totally truthful. We are going to have it towed to a different garage. I would not really recommend this garage. He is in no hurry and wanted us to pay out of pocket for a rebuilt engine, and we have a warranty that covers it. Big joke! Not good customer service!

Sherm has saved my car from certain death more times than I can count. He has never had to fix the same thing twice! He is honest, fair priced, and very prompt. You wont find a better mechanic to keep you and your family safe in a vehicle.

This is no your ordinary repair shop where you get charged for everything you can think of. My story: I had a possible thermostat or water pump problem...looked this shop up on google maps while travelling. They helped me to first troubleshoot the problem before scheduling an appointment, and then allowed me to stop by for an inspection. Most shops would charge you for an immediate inspection/replacement of possible cause, but they pointed out the most probable cause, and did not press me to swap out any parts because there was no evident leak. True professionals that educate you and let you make the decision on the repair needed. I know they have plenty of local business, but if you are passing through, don't hesitate to drive the extra 900 ft for expert repair service.

Well of course everything sounded good when I first took my car to Sherman, I had a bent subframe, front. Long story short, they put a different subframe in the car, with different control arms. The bushings were so worn out they were non existent. Now any decent mechanic would have at least put new bushings in, but I got rear ended with a $1300 dollar ticket, and my car is at another garage getting fixed, right this time. Shady ain't the word for this guy, I've heard this happens to a lot of people. What happened to integrity and honesty? I would not recommend this con man to anyone.

We were on vacation, staying in Sevierville. Our Durango SUV began making noise whenever we turned a corner. But it was Memorial Day (2014) and no service center would be open. Desperate, we consulted with the staff at the lodge where we were staying. After making a few calls, they found Sure Start to be open on a National holiday !We drove over to Sure Start and the shop manager quickly determined that we had a leak in our power steering fluid system. He added about 1/2 bottle of PS fluid, and the worrisome sound disappeared. VERY thankful to get service on Memorial Day, we got ready to pay. But he refused to accept any payment ! ! !Some people just have a good heart, and we found such a one on Memorial Day '14.

I needed several things fixed on my car. I was referred to Sure Start Auto by a friend. Sherman the owner was honest and fair with the amount of work I needed on my car. If you require auto repair I would recommend calling them.

Left me stranded and cancelled my repair after waiting for three days, LITERALLY because I asked if there was any way to bump up my repair. Told me to get a tow truck and get my vehicle out, because he "doesn't get rushed". Then he hung up on me. Stay Away!

Took my car about 4 months ago he he did alot of work to the motor and said u have car for alot of years after I get done with it 4500 dollars later he said u have 1 year warranty motor blew up couple of weeks a go and took back to him he said nothing he can do u need a new motor save it money go somewhere else
