This place rocks! They got my truck in and repaired earlier than they scheduled, and the bill was half of the quote because they found something easily repaired. Very honest and friendly people. I would highly recommend using them for any kind of work!

Walts over Woodards!My experience yesterday was this I called Woodards before lunch and got no answer. I called them from noon till about 3 and the phone was off the hook. I then called Walts and told them I needed a quote on brakes for my explorer and he gladly gave me a quote and offered to set it up within the same week. I held off and loaded my child in the car and drove down to Woodards to get their quote bc I m a stay at home mom and needed to make sure I was getting the best price. I got there and let them know their phone has been off the hook since lunch time in case they didn t Know they knew and laughed and said it didn t suprise them and gave me their quote which was less than Walts and told me they couldn t get it to until middle of the following week I called Walts back and add sure we got the quote right and he did . But he said they do full service, like turning the rotors, whereas Woodards did not and I explained to him my situation and he made it happen within my budget and the very next morning. I d much rather pay a shop that cares and does it right and has a good attitude and good customer service and cares about their customers than pay a shop like Woodards that cant even be bothered with picking up the phone and would be completely okay with me driving my child around with warped brakes bc they didn t do a complete job.I highly recommend Walts over Woodards. The customer service is great and they are quick and efficient. I won t take my car anywhere else now due to the experience I had yesterday.Services: Auto brake repair, Brakes

They are friendly, have fair pricing, and truly appreciate their customers. They helped put my mind at ease (I'm a first time vehicle owner), figured out the problem, and had my truck back on the road within 24 hours!They're my now go to garage.

This place goes above and beyond to do the right thing. My experience did not go perfectly, but they handled it perfectly. Things happened that were beyond their control when it came to the part for my car, but they worked hard to find a resolution and get things done. I am very thankful for this place, and I would highly recommend them! They are good people that care.Service: Auto power window repair

The people leaving bad reviews on here are the people who are never satisfied or happy with anything. Don't even call other places, just go to Walt's. They were by far the least expensive when I called around, but not only that, they were the most KIND, honest, and patient group of people you'll ever come across at a mechanic shop. Maybe any shop. And they got me in and out in 30 minutes on my lunch break. I cannot say enough about this place. I've been to A LOT of mechanics in my life and this one takes the cake. Trust me just GO!!! You won't regret it!!!

Have been going here for years. Only charged $60. For a thorough inspection to detect what codes were popping up for some mystery issues our car was having. Will continue to be life long customers.

You have to wait for good work. They have always been honest about when they can get it in and have not charged me as much as they could have for repairs. I'd take my vehicles nowhere else. My truck has been in the shop twice in a week to get the brakes done. One thing I will never understand is why when you ask why it wasn't done right the first or even second time the mechanic wants to say they have been working on cars for X years. Guess what, I have been doing it for almost 20 years, but I don't have a garage, work 7 days a week and it has rained every day for the last week. That's why I brought it you and paid almost $1000 dollars in the first place. Never by any means take your vehicle to Walt's Garage in Portland, TN for may reason. Now it's back in again trying to figure out why the brakes are still leaking and don't work.Service: Brakes

I took my car here and it took the mechanics close to a week to finally look it and give me a diagnostic- but I was told it could have been this or this. Like really? I need to know exactly what it is I cant afford to just start replacing parts until I find the problem! Needless to say I picked my vehicle up for someone else to service it. Not to mention the prices here are outrageous. And in my opinion some of the mechanics will take advantage of a women in order to make more money because they think were just clueless when it comes to vehicles. I feel thats what happened to me. So ladies bring your man if you do go to this place!

I am fairly new to the area and did not know many repair places. My wife said she had started to hear a noise under her car that sounded like there was a hole in the muffler or exhaust system. I decided to take it in to have it checked out. Well after a few hours after I dropped it off I got a call telling me that they checked out the exhaust system and everything looks to be good. that was good news and I thought that they could of easily took advantage of me and replace my whole exhaust system but they were truthful and to me that goes a long way. I feel very comfortable taking my car to them to have them work on my car.

I've had many cars, and many cars serviced in my long life. I recently found Walt's and I believe they are as fair and honest as they come. I do not believe they will disappoint you.

I have take my trucks to Walt s garage for years now and you couldn t ask for better people. Price, work, honesty and quick. I have friends who have found Walt s to be one of the best mechanic garages we ve seen in this area for years. They get a 5 star every time I go!

While on our way home from vacation, we bottomed out while going over a railroad crossing. It was around noon on a Friday and Walt's was only opened until 5 that day. My truck was pretty much undrivable and we still had 600 miles to drive to get home. We got a call at 3:30 saying that the truck was fixed. We were able to get home with no problems thanks to the folks at Walt's . Great service and good prices.Service: Steering & suspension repair

The worst service and the worst communication ever. One time the owner tells me they are working on it and his secretary tells me they haven't started on it. I paid almost $800.00 for an oil leak to be repaired and it still leaks. They argued with me about it even leaking when I brought it up there for them to do the work. I told them I did some research and it seems like it's a rear main seal. They agreed to drop the transmission and they discovered that there is actually a leak. They made the repair. Not even 60 days and it's leaking in the same spot. I dropped it off and they tried telling me it wasn't leaking still. I just crawled under my truck and took pictures of the oil on the bell housing.

Brought them a car with a bad motor they put in a good motor... Car runs great to this day. The only honest mechanic in town!

I had a slow leak in my tire (I assumed from a nail or something similar being stuck). I tried two other shops this morning and neither could check my tire. A friend recommended Walt s. From the first phone call to check out, they were great - truly your mom and pop feel.The gentleman that checked my tires was outstanding. He was polite and very thorough. He checked all of my tires and didn t give up until he found the pesky little nail that was hiding! I m so glad I went to Walt s Garage. I would certainly not hesitate to go back.

I Love Walt's because EVERY Time I've been There, Elizabeth the Receptionist ALWAYS greets You with a warm Smile.She's also quite knowledgeable about Cars and can assess What may or may not need to be fine even before referring You to the onsite Mechanics.I've never had a Problem with My Vehicle since getting It fixed there at Walt's, and that was about a Year ago.The 2007 Nissan Versa I had did need Work, and What I invested in Walt's to get Her taken care of I've not regretted.Brakes, Headlights, A/C, Tires, etc. Walt's did It quickly and correctly, and for that I Am thankful.Locally owned and operated, I have NOTHING but Good to say about the Service and the Staff, and HIGHLY recommend Walt's to Anyone needing Good, Affordable, Honest Care for Their Vehicle (s).I wish They had a Shop in NY I'd be right There too!

I needed some work done on a Ford Expedition and found this Garage.I thought well I would call and check them out next thing I knew I had my vehicle at their shop.The work performed was very affordable compared to the quote given to me by them and was lower than expected. I truly recommend this shop and currently have a second vehicle being worked on by them.Graet Gang and friendly also.

I called them to put a simple belt back on a 2006 sprinter.. got told it'd be Wednesday for 5 minute job to get a belt back onto a sprinter.. I will never ever ever recommend this place to anyone

I ve had my oil changed here several times, and they do a great job. The staff are very kind and helpful and work to get you in as soon as they can. They have WiFi while you wait and a nice little waiting area. The prices are fair!

They do great work at fair prices in a reasonable time span. They are always busy because of this bit do their best to get you in as soon as possible, which is not a long wait. I've used this shop multiple times and I will continue to.

My husband took his truck in. They fixed it, but broke a plastic clip part under it and FORGOT to save the old part that he was going to show a parts place to prove they shipped the wrong one so he could get a refund. They used to be better. Maybe Walt's not watching anymore.

Had clutch work done and they ran over a piece off a vehicle in thier lot and we had a flat tire at pick up. First they only plugged it, then after getting it home, it was losing air. They finally agreed to replace the tire. That satisfied us other than using our spare till the ordered one came in, then driving back again.
