I ve have vehicles serviced and fixed at Ultimate Automotive 3-4 times now. The staff is professional and friendly. They have a nice waiting area for customers. Each time I call to schedule, they do their best to find the earliest available. If they say the vehicle will be ready to pick up that day or next day, it always has been; no surprises. Fair and reasonable cost which is greatly appreciated! This past time, they were even able to give me a ride so that I could give my vehicle home before the end of business day. Highly recommend.

This shop is a hidden gem! I live just a few miles away and was referred by AAA today when my battery died and AAA didn t have one in stock. I called and talked to Cole, they didn t have the battery in stock. He said they may have one available and would call me back. Within 10 minutes I had a call back from Cole stating the battery was on it s way. He stated the battery would arrive within an hour, it would take 20-30 minutes to replace and they could get it done right away. After making several other calls, I was thrilled and drove right over. They offered to shuttle me back home however with the quick turnaround, I opted to stay.I noticed when the mechanic started my car again they didn t need to jump it. I was told they d check the batter before replacing it. It did have a bad cell so it was replaced. Also, the original quote was higher than what I paid. I d rather have an over estimate than under. Pleasantly surprised in so many ways! The lounge area is very nice and clean. Water, coffee, several chairs, Wi-Fi and a clean bathroom. My return call from Cole was at 10:43am and I was on my way home by 12:30pm.I also worked with David who was fantastic and explained my warranty and answered a few other questions I had. I drive a hybrid so not all mechanics will work on these vehicles but Ultimate Automotive will.Another positive I will mention is the shop didn t smell like cigarettes, oil or anything else some mechanic shops smell like.It s never fun to have a surprise expense but on the positive, I have found my mechanic in Sioux Falls that I trust and am grateful they are trustworthy and close to where I live!Update: May 2023Came in for an oil change. David brought out my filter to show it to me and gave me the option to replace. He was pushy at all. Oil change took a little over an hour. They sent me a 26 point inspection report, very detailed. Still highly recommend!! There is a very good reason they were voted local best.

I was referred to Ultimate by my dealer for some warranty work, and they were great to work with. They explained the warranty approval process to me, diagnosed the issue, handled the claim to the warranty company, and completed the work very timely. As it turned out the car died 2 days before the work was scheduled, so I had it towed to shop late in the evening, with no expectation they'd get to it early, I just didn't want to tow it twice. However, they did indeed get to it early for me so i wasn't without a vehicle. They were great!

Had oil change and coolant flush/refill a few days ago here. Checked coolant level today and it was waaay below minimum. Should've checked asap, so you do the same.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. You should go to 12th Street Automotive instead! The repair work was ok. My truck was leaning severely to the left, and now it's only leaning partially to the left. The main problem was with communication. There was hardly any! At first, they gave me an estimate of around $600 for repairs. Then, after some complications, the total was somewhere around $1050 plus change. However, when I went into the office, the guy who rang me up said my total was more than $1500! When I challenged him about it and showed him the text, he went and talked to the mechanic. Turns out, he was gonna charge me an extra $300 for some brackets that they never used! These people don't know how to keep you up to date on your auto repairs and I would recommend that you take your business elsewhere!!

Great service! I ve tried out both of Ultimate Automotive s locations, and they gave quality service each and every time. Their recommendations are spot on, pointing out things I d noticed in the back of my mind but not consciously thought about. When I replaced only two tires even though they recommended all of them well, a few weeks later with another flat, I learned to take their recommendations seriously. I love their thorough inspections. They re keeping my old car in good condition, handling smoother than ever. They do all their work swiftly and professionally. Five stars!!Services: Tires, Auto exhaust system repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Vehicle Inspection, Auto tire replacement, Auto maintenance, Battery, Oil change

So thankful to have a trustworthy mechanic. They always call before they do repairs, and they explain the issues in ways that I can understand. Their shuttle service is extremely convenient, and the customer service is exceptional. David and Cole have basically become best friends since my car is in the shop all the time. I d highly recommend Ultimate Automotive for any of your automotive needs!!

For the past few years, I've taken my car and truck to Ultimate Automotive. They do a great job and I like the waiting area because it allows me to stay current with my work while I wait. The last time I went, I had a suspected problem, they fixed it with minimal effort and didn't charge me for the work. I'm sure that time was an exception to the rule, but they operate with a great deal of integrity in an industry where that is not always the case. I recommend them highly!

I would not recommend this place to anyone after my experience. Especially with aftermarket equipment on the car. Spoke with a gentleman on Monday about getting my car aligned after installing coilovers on all 4 corners to lower my car and after installing adjustable camber and toe arms for the rear as camber and toe is not independently adjustable from the factory on my car (2018 Mazda3) The guy said oh yea we do it all the time it's 79.99. Made an appointment for this morning and was excited to get the car set up. The tech employed to work on my car had no idea how to adequately use the installed components to align my car and didn't bother to ask me after I stated "any questions just ask" so instead used the factory aligning locations leading to a less than desirable final alignment in the rear and then when moving to the front refused to use the provided adjustable camber plates to correct front camber and instead insisted that it was too difficult and not possible and forced me to purchase a set of camber bolts ($20 online for a pair, 49.99 at the shop) and then also charge me $60 to install the camber bolts. 2 freaking bolts. When I brought my concerns up to management I was disregarded because he refused to believe his tech could be wrong and also insisted they don't do custom alignments or installs and was very rude. But wait your desk clerk said you do them all the time? I would give this location specifically 0 stars if possible and I would advise anyone visiting this location to be very wary of sales tactics and the lack of knowledge when working with anything outside a completely factory vehicle that this location possesses. I cannot comment on their abilities with a factory set up other than their customer service sucks. So 224.01 for a service quoted at 79.99 and an alignment that I now have to take elsewhere to get corrected because while it falls within factory spec it rubs while lowered and they did not utilize the tools given to them to ensure the job was dome properly (BC Racing BR series Coilovers, Megan Racing Adjustable Camber and Toe Arms, among other modifications) Potential customers with any modification bewareService: Wheel alignment

Best service! Bought an older truck a while back to discover it had some issues. Monty was more than hospitable getting my truck in whenever he could, gave me an honest and accurate diagnosis and price to repair. I'll be bringing all of my vehicles there for routine maintenance and fixes!

I've always had good service here but last week was simply Outstanding!! They rushed in a brake check for me at 4:30pm on a Friday. I had noticed my truck brake on the left rear smoking after hauling my camper out of storage to my house to load it. I HAD to see what the issue was or I would have to cancel the trip. They rushed me in, found the problem (sticking caliper) fixed it and had me on the road in 30 minutes. And only charged me a small labor charge. Thanks guys!! You saved my weekend!

At one point I had a five star review for these guys on here, but ever since Steve left, this place has gone down hill. They took over an hour to do an oil change when we had an appointment scheduled days in advance. They told me I needed new brake rotors even though they already replaced them less than a year ago, and when I brought that up they all of a sudden were saying that I magically didn t need them anymore. I feel like they are no longer honest and just pushing to make money on unnecessary things. We will never bring our cars here again. Sad to see such a wonderful place go downhill

Very accommodating staff! I rely on Ultimate Automotive for maintenance on all 4 of my vehicles. Everything from tires, oil changes and breaks. I've been lucky enough to not have major repairs but would not hesitate usingUltimate for them if/when they arise.

Great experience, first time customers and we'll definitely be coming back, had my girlfriend's car in, thought the fuel pump went out in the car, found out that it was something else & a much cheaper fix, they were up front with us about everything, called before any repairs were done to inform us of what was wrong and asked for the go ahead to repair, Steve was very friendly and courteous, explained everything to us. Very satisfied customers.

Both me and my wife prefer taking our cars here. They are friendly and you can always count on getting repairs done properly and at a fair price. Take your vehicle here. You won't be disappointed.

Very poor communication and customer service. Routine pad/rotor job took 4hrs. Service manager on the phone the entire time I was at the desk. Will never recommend or go back. Seriously disappointed. And to top it off, the service manager lied to his owner about offering me a ride. No one offered anything. No one discussed what parts I could choose from, and they Charged me for premium parts which I got mid grade. Owner backs up his manager, not consumer friendly. If you go there I'd watch them like a hawk or you're gonna eat ripped off.

My car was shaking while breaking on the interstate so I thought an alignment would fix it. I told them what I was experiencing and that I wanted an alignment but that I also don t know much about cars so if it something else then do what needs done. They did the alignment and it did not help. They also said my water pump was whistling which I had replaced a month earlier. When I took it back to where I had the pump replaced, they informed me it was not my water pump but my accelerator, and that an alignment wouldn t do anything for the shaking. They ended up replacing all 4 brakes and rotors in my car. Paid for an alignment for no reason and they didn t catch what was wrong with my car.

I've always had great luck with these guys. I'm very much a DIY type of guy, so when I need someone with a bit more experience I always go with these guys. I never feel like they're trying to sell me more than I need. If they have ever done any damage to my vehicles, they always let me know and tell me what they fixed for free. I recommend this shop to everyone I know looking to have work done. Good people.

Trustworthiness. It's the one thing everyone wants in a mechanic and somehow also the hardest thing to find. You'll find it here. One of the coldest days of the year and the power steering went out in my car. I'm handy enough to fix the basic stuff myself, but getting to the reservoir required dismantling a few things and I wasn't keen on wasting my precious body heat for a lost cause. So, I called Steve. I relayed my problem and asked him his professional opinion.A lot of mechanics would, either out of a dishonest desire for business or unwillingness to put forth the effort, just say, "Oh that's definitely not low fluid, better bring it in." Steve told me honestly that it was almost certainly low fluid, even though he knew it meant a cold morning bundled up under a hood, because it was both the truth and because it was the most cost-effective option for me. He was right, too.I will always bring my vehicles here for repairs. You should do the same.

We were traveling to Sioux Falls and vechile issues. I asked my sister where we should have our Ford Flex looked at. The guys tod us to get it down and they could work it in. When we picked it up, I was impressed with the report, and the price. The fact that they explained everything and called before doing anything will earn my business whenever I'm needing a vechile serviced in Sioux Falls!!!

They fixed my wagon! I had an expensive sounding grindy noise coming from under my car some place. Back in July I crawled my old gimpy hiney under there to see if I could figure it out. I noticed that both cv axle boots were old and busted. But they weren't making all of the grindy noise. Something else was amiss. I didn't find it. I did take a good look on up into the underbelly. It looked troublesome under there. All 4 wheel drivey and complexified and stuff. No way am I working on that. It's way too hot out to bother with it. So I drive the 'Yota Wagon for another 5 months. The grindy noise gets louder and even more expensive sounding. And now it's cold and dark. And now there is snow. No way I'm working on that. It's way too cold out to bother with it. So I consult the Google. The Google says that this place is THE place. The Ultimate place. "Neato" I think to myself. I try to set an appointment up all convenient like on the intarwebs. The guy gets back and says "I'm all booked up. Can you come on in next week Monday?" I says "Oh Yeah." So Monday comes and I drop off the 'Yota Wagon. One hour later I get a call. He says that it's the wheel bearing has been screeching its grindy death song. He says that the cv joints are in fact now old and busted. He says the 4 wheel drive system on the 'Yota Wagons are complexified and troublesome beasties but this place is THE place. The Ultimate place, and he can fix it. I ask how long he expects. He says it will likely take all day, as 'Yota Wagons are all complex and the older ones can be extra troublesome and it will depend on how everything comes apart and goes back together, but he reckons he can have it done before closing time. I'm stunned to silence. See, last time I took the 'Yota Wagon in some other place for a different thing, they kept it for a week. I had to bum rides. It was awful. But this is THE place. The Ultimate place. None of that nonsense this time - so I say "how much?" He tells me how much. I'm stunned to silence. I want to puke. I want to hang up and go hide in a deep hole some place. But then I really start to think on it. It's hard for me sometimes but adulting is often hard and so I persist. I reckon that If it takes a pro, with actual experience and proper lovely tools, in a well lit and well heated garage with a lift and such, 6 full hours to do it - how long would it take me to do it on the ground, in the dark and snow, with a crescent wrench, some rusty vicegrips, and a swiss army knife while I watch youtube videos about it? I really try to visualize the process. I feel the frozen busted knucks when the wrench slips. I grope numbly for dropped parts in the snow without my glovies. I feel the bite of the frozen steely tools on my finger skins. The snow creeps its way down the back of my pants. I put myself in that place and I know that I would be bumming rides for a week. Or longer. It would be awful. I tell the man to make it whole. I throw up in my mouth a little bit. I go back to work. I've pretty well got to now... Anyhow, true to his word the 'Yota Wagon is all fixed and ready when I'm off work. GROOVY. And the moral of the story is...Take your busted car to this place BEFORE the noises get too expensive sounding. It's hard to tell sometimes so just the very instant that you suspect that it may be a thing, go ahead and get it handled. I did not. I never ever do, but I'm old and stupid, and I make bad decisions. Be better. Spend a little money early on. Get the darn car fixed right and get it fixed right away! I sometimes wish it were legal to sell one's extra organs or something for extra money...

Ultimate automotive, despite some recent alterations to staff, continues to provide top-quality service at an attractive price. Four stars because their waiting room is actually... pretty upsetting.
