Very sad to share this review as we ve been referring people to Specialty Wheel and Tire for YEARS. Now my opinion has changed to do not go here at all cost .We started having a tick in the engine and took it in to have it checked. They assured us they found the problem, it cost us $2,000. So we said to fix it.Pick it up, the tick is louder, the Jeep has no power when accelerating, and it s just overall in worse shape then when we took it in. Mike drove it 4 blocks away, turned it around, and took it back.The next day they called and said they were wrong, we supposedly need a whole new engine.When asked what about the money we just dumped into it, they said there was nothing they could do about it.I personally attempted to call the man who I ve dealt with for years, he refused to call me back, instead would only call Mike back. Again told him we were out of luck.This was all following them telling us our truck needed new tire rods. We checked and got a second opinion at a different shop. We found out the tire rods were fine.They have turned into a money hungry business that does nothing more than try to scam people out of money.If I referee you here, I apologize and suggest avoiding them going forward. I wouldn t trust them with an oil change at this point.

You are better off working on your car alone and would probably do a 10x better job fixing it than they would. I took my car in because it was overheating i didnt have the time or resources to work on it myself. so after being charged a ridiculous price and was told that they had to remove the whole front end to replace the part i was a little suspicious because i knew the part could be fixed easily it would just take some time. I picked my car up and on the drive home i had a hose brake on me while i was driving on the interstate and i didnt even know it happen until people were flagging me to pull over because my car was smoking. As i pulled over and popped the hood there was coolant all over the engine and it happened because a very small hose was not connected properly. So i asked myself if this part was so easily accessible and its right in your face when you pop the hood how did it get overlooked? And if that small piece of hose came off then how do i know they did a good job replacing everything else that takes hours to dismantle? It kinda sickening to think about and i would definitely not trust anyone else with my car from total car care. Dont even get me started on the brake job they did at another shop by simply adding brake fluid and costed me over $200 something i couldve paid someone on the street to do for $20. And yes i did reach out just to get called a troll and a scammer like how am i gonna scam when i already paid for the stuff and simply want it looked at again? Very poor job and i dont trust them. *edit* after reading more reviews from others i also agree with the fact they do a terrible job at communicating. I was told the car would be done at a certain time just to call them 4 more times throughout the day and finally go pick it up.

Amazing service! Was looking to get my car in quickly due to some issues. Aaron worked with me and was so kind. They figured out the problem and had my car fixed and back to me the next day. I couldn t recommend them more!

Asked for a part change charged me 346, asked to buy my own part said he needed to do a his own diagnostics and said I had it done, Didnt take off the diagnostics and charged me 110 with 20 being the parts and labor. Came back reluctantly and said I have to part and he said its 125. Two different quotes for a part change that would take 10 mins. Did it myself with a wrench and screw driver. He lied twice and wanted to make a money off a simple part change.

We've brought our vehicles here for the last few years. We have been nothing but happy with the service and prices. June of 2019 and February of 2020 they got us rolling before we took long trips, getting the work done quickly and thoroughly. They always call after diagnostics and quote us prices and see what we want to fix before proceeding. No surprises. Love this place!

Brought my car in trying to figure out why it wouldn't start every once and a while. Got a couple things replaced and it kept happening. Got my battery replaced and it still happened, they sent me to a different shop and they replaced the battery saying it was bad. Brought the bad battery back to SWT and they said they would get me my money back through the manufacturer. I had to call them weekly for around 4 months. Every call was yup it'll be done soon we'll give you a call. Finally they told me they could only give me store credit. I waited 4 months and spent way more money than I should have had to to be offered a portion of the repair costs in store credit, for a bad battery that they gave me. No thanks.

Great price, good people, and performance. My friends are very happy with their services as well. I used to go to someone else years ago. They sold me bad tires and then I discovered this place 8years ago and have recommended them to family and friends.

Took my vehicle in because I was having issues with my 2003 GMC Envoy. I had honest work done before and was suggested by a friend. The front attendant had his shop worker ride around passenger side to listen to the issue and identify the problem. This being an older vehicle and just spending $3,000 dollars to repair the front end alignment at another shop a year ago, I informed him "Im trying to keep this repair under $500". Upon sending my vehicle in they found out I had front differential issues. I agreed to the repairs unknowly knowing how much they were going to invest in labor. They call me again to say it was going to be something around +$2,000 with parts and labor. After several phone calls over 4 days leaving my car, my vehicle is ready to be picked up. They inform me its +$1,300 just for labor. The issue they found was with my 4WD actuator and front differential. They disable my 4wd put everything back together. And my vehicle still sounds rough. I understand my vehicle was in the same condition it went in and now my vehicles 4WD is disabled and I have a spare part in the back of my vehicle. Upon leaving I ask him about my cars longevity and he replies a un-encouraging " It'll drive..." cool. Im just mad that I trusted them to do a decent job and now I feel like my vehicle is in just as rough shape and wondering why I came to them with $1,300 of my money. My service was done about a month ago and I understand that the day I drove off when they serviced it and it sounded rough I should of told them. I trusted their service so I tried not to question it, but it ate at me. I work two jobs 60hrs a week and my only day off is sunday. So I find it hard to communicate with a business that is so busy and still find a way to commute to my job without paying for lyfts for 4 days while they work or wait to work on my vehicle. A simple gesture of get a "new vehicle" or "this repair is beyond your budget" (that I initially set) would of been the most professional thing they could of done. Thanks for listening to my sob. Hopefully this friday I will update

These guys aren't in the business of doing big expensive repairs, however more often than not they find themselves in that position and are always willing to do the extra labor at a good price. Twice now they have found major issues with my vehicle that the dealership (once ford and another time billion GM) missed or ignored. I never had them do the expensive stuff either, I'd always get a second opinion and they weren't wrong.I'd still suggest this place only for routine stuff like tires and oil changes, but if they point out a big problem with your vehicle I seriously doubt they are trying to rip you off. They just aren't in the business of doing big repairs to begin with.Dealerships are the ones who are more likely to lie about this kinda stuff, because more often they are the one who sold you your car, they are the ones with the mile-long lines of cars waiting for service. Its the dealer that wants you in and out as fast as possible for the volume traffic and they are the ones who aren't looking to tell you that your going to need a new engine, transmission, or whatever major repair soon.Everybody in the business knows that big repairs usually don't go over that smooth to begin with, so trying to get a few extra bucks out of you over something small so its worth their time I could see happening maybe, but lying about a big repair would be more often disadvantageous for them because that would create the trust issues etc... Bad for repeat business. I seriously doubt this kind of stuff is happening at Specialty Wheel & Tire. These guys have always proven themselves to deliver better service than any dealership you'll find in town.

They help make having something done to your car not interrupt your every day life and accommodate to your schedule and I learned the hard way they are actually very affordable compared to most shops. I recommend this place they worked on our cars anytime I needed something done and one time I went someplace else and they didnt even put my dash back in correctly.

I have had nothing but great luck with these guys. After moving to Sioux Falls, I went here on a friend's recommendation for an oil change. They are friendly, their prices are fair, and they have always been honest about the service I have needed.

New to sioux falls area and needed brakes a buddy of my friend turned me on to this place. Dropped car off night before they have a key drop off and started working on car next morning they were pleasant professional and honest they took the tires off looked at brakes most companies would say oh u need brakes on rear and front I didn't need them on front and they were honest shocking in this day and age of corporate greed I found my need mechanics and am very happy Lukas the manager is hands on they will give u a quote before they do work I will be back thanks lukas.

Always able to get an appointment that works conveniently for me. They are friendly, thorough and fast. No long wait. Have taken my vehicles to them for service for years and have never had a complaint.

Quick service, reasonably priced, very thorough job. Went in for 1 thing, they noticed several more issues I had no idea about and notified me of them. Got it all taken care of in about an hour. I'll always be coming back here.

It was time for my car to have an oil change, and as winter weather approaches I asked them to also check all the fluids as well as tire pressure and anything else they thought might become a problem. They did that extra service and I was told that they found nothing at this time, but that because of the age of my car (a 1996 Mercury Sable) that I should let them know if anything seems to become an issue.

Can I give a half a star rating?! This place is terrible! Brought the Tahoe in for a 1 valve stem replacement...left with all the sensors on my dash lit up, and AC is broken now! Thanks boys good work I will never stop here again.

Owner/manager chased me down and screamed at me for going to fast through his parking lot. Then threatened me if I do it again. Very unprofessional and major anger issues. There are other ways of dealing with something like that. Needless to say I will not be doing business with him and will tell others so they are aware.

I have had oil changes and other work. But twice now they have told me, a woman, of expensive work that needed to be done and twice it has been proven wrong. I feel they target women for upsales for themselves. I will not be returning as I feel this to be very wrong.

Specialty wheel and tire is by far the best experience I've had taking a vehicle in. I have my own small business and when I had a problem last week and needed my work truck these guys got me in in just minutes and I'm very happy with their work I will be taking my vehicles here for as long as I'm driving.
