Our family of seven (4 generations) from Texas stayed at the Comfort Suites in Custer while we were vacationing and visiting sites in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and the bath towels were nice and thick! The breakfast area was a basic hotel breakfast. There was a waffle maker with 2 types of batter. The coffee was good. I was very impressed when we got back to our room after the 1st night and our room had been cleaned! I was mad at myself for forgetting to tell the front desk we wanted housekeeping service that morning when we left for the day, so that was a very nice surprise!! I would recommend Comfort Suites if you are looking for a place to stay in Custer!

The hotel was a lot better than I anticipated. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Pool area was a good size and fresh towels were out so you didn't have to use up your bath towels. Breakfast was hot and they stayed stocking up the items up until 9:25. They served eggs, bacon, bread for toast, 3 types of cereal, muffins, coffee, juice, and waffles. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2023 while vacationing in South Dakota. We stayed at 5 different hotels across the state on our trip, and we agree that this hotel was the best one we stayed at. The room was very clean and comfortable. Any staff that we interacted with were professional, kind, and efficient. The hotel was very quiet. Parking was ample. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare-- muffins, toast, waffles, eggs, and a meat-- but there was plenty, it was fresh, and it was just what we needed before we headed out for our day. Excellent Comfort Inn! Highly recommend!

Helpful staff, decent breakfast, comfortable bed.Three stars because there were dozens of long hairs all over the top comforter of my bed. Thankfully I could just remove it and the rest of the sheets seemed clean. There was also an ant in my bed at one point, but I ll give the benefit of the doubt and assume I brought it in somehow.

My family loved our stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Custer! Every single staff person we interacted with - from the front desk to housekeeping to breakfast - was professional, kind, and went out of their way to greet us. I was very impressed with the continental breakfast. That place was BUSY on a Sunday morning but the staff did a great job keeping the place well-stocked and clean. The rooms were nice and clean, the place is easy to find, and there was ample parking.

Our family were going to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We had to stay at Custer and this place was best for it. It was clean and had a big tv. The breakfast was awesome. People were very nice!Nearby activities: You can go to Crazy Horse in car for 20min. And Mt. Rushmore for 50min.

We visited during Juneteenth holiday. Hotel was decent and staff was nice too except for the manager. We got city view room even though we booked for forest view. She was very rude (to both employees & customers) and not at all cooperative. Room was spacious though AC filter wasn't clear causing sore throat in the morning. Breakfast was complementary and included waffles, scrambled egg, yogurt, fruits, bagel, breads, muffins, bacon, etc. Staff except for manager was very polite. Hotel facilities includes pool & gym. Overall decent stay.

It was nice staff is very friendly rooms are great and very clean , its close to everything as far as attractions. Iv never stayed in one like this but id rate it like a Hampton Inn and suites , breakfast is more continental than hot breakfast only 2 items but its good . Only one down fall is you don't get room cleaning service everyday only every 3rd day if you stay more than that but besides that great hotel !

Nice place in the Black Hills as a base for the sights. We stayed 4 nights. The place was clean & spacious. The breakfasts were good. The gals serving the breakfasts did a great job. Our last night had a SNAFU with the pool as it was overflowing so we didn't get to swim the last night . Would go again - good price.

A few of drawbacks on this place, 1) Not the friendliest place they seemed impatient if you ask questions about Hill City. Very expensive I later discovered there were other places with a better vantage point and less expensive. Not the best access to down town Hill City by walking. The positives are it's very clean, I felt comfortable being there and the coffee was good.

Breakfast every morning was good. The room we were in was close to parking. The room was pretty clean although we found candy wrappers in one drawer and paper under the dresser. They always came and got the towels when we put them outside our room along with the garbage. I am guessing with covid, they don't collect those things everyday until we check out

Stayed for four nights, through a snowstorm and a sunny day. They have nicely redesigned the rooms, plenty of room for two and a little sitting area in our room. The front desk staff was friendly, and helpful with dining suggestions as well as recommendations for things to do.My only negative would be that the hot tub was pretty suspect. Needed a good deep clean.

This hotel is great! We stayed for 4 nights in a king suite. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable for relaxing in the evening after a full day of sightseeing. The location on the 1st floor was quiet and convenient. The only improvement I could recommend would be a better quality toilet paper and tissues. The hotel has a really nice pool and hot tub , a nice lobby and a big dining room. Breakfast was the usual and was kept well stocked at all times. All staff were friendly and helpful. The location is quieter than some others but is convenient to everything you might want to see in the area.

One of the BEST stay's I've ever had at a hotel! Room was So comfortable and The Wood furnishings and The Crown moldings really made the place feel like home! Hot tub was spectacular and Breakfast was what i would consider WAY above average, Lot's of Donuts and muffins and Not many hotels have Bacon but This one did! Staff was VERY friendly and The lady at the front desk even went up to make sure that Our room was clean before we went in! Friendly staff and would DEFINITIVELY recommend to anyone thinking about staying!

We stayed here 4 days in late September and had a wonderful time. Staff was very accommodating, room was nice. So this review is to let people know that this hotel is a great place to stay on a black hills trip. Also, we feel we may have left our family's video camera there (not sure, and didn't realize until now because we use it less due to camera phones), and we wanted to call the hotel and see if there was a 1% chance that it was located. The hotel is closed for the season, so I'm hoping some manager type of person can see this and respond. Thank you, and thanks again for our stay!

Very satisfied with this place. Clean room, extra comfy king sized bed, microwave and mini fridge in the room, hot shower, cant ask for much more! The staff was very courteous and pleasant. The breakfast is very adequate, as well as the pool/hot tub (didn't use em, but seemed to be clean). Close enough drive to Mt. Rushmore (20 mi), but far enough away from the bulk of tourist herds.

Stayed here overnight on a trip from Yellowstone back home to Chicago. Checked in late but service was still good and the process was quick. Our room was large and clean, beds and bathroom were very good. Breakfast was included and the selection and quality food were on par for this type/level of hotel. Felt that I got my money's worth and would definitely consider Comfort Inn the next time I travel.

It had a very nice continental breakfast with some eggs and bacon/sausage. The room was very clean and service was excellent. They let us get a late check out. I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel and would definitely come back. One of the top hotels I've been to.
