Ben at Southern Wrench, and his coworkers, are mechanics in the truest sense of the word. While they use computer diagnostics, when something doesn't show up but there is definitely an issue, they use their mechanical knowledge to diagnose and fix the issue. They are smart, clever, and oh-so reasonably priced.Southern Wrench is my go-to for mechanical issues. They give trusted advice on other issues, like tire wear, even if they are not the supplier of the service.Hands down, best mechanic I've ever had. Recommended whole heartedly.

My first experience with Southern Wrench Automotive was outstanding. This is my new go-to mechanic. Best price and service in the area, and the turnaround on my vehicle was the same day. Best auto shop around!!! My wife and I go out of our way to bring our cars here. Ben, the owner, is super nice and honest. I trust him to only work on what is needed and I do not feel like I'm being overcharged. He has gone out of his way for us and deserves all the recognition! Great experience here, amazing team, Ben is a solid honest guy, will definitely bring my vehicles here if I ever need work done, took the time to address other issues that I wasn t aware of and even took me through the process. Outstanding customer service. I have had repairs done at other shops, but I m glad I found southern wrench automotive, it s hard to find good honest working mechanics but they are the best in Charleston, hands down.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Ben is fantastic! I won't go anywhere else. He is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He uses quality parts, not the junk some other shops I've gone to have used. It's hard to find a good mechanic, especially with fair prices. The reviews are what brought me to this shop and I have to say that it was a breath of fresh air to encounter Ben. He's super professional and has pride and integrity in what he does. Unfortunately, the engine in my daughter's vehicle was shot. Ben was honest about the costs and the expectations. I decided not to move forward with the service but this encounter has made me a future customer. Southern Wrench is the only place we will take our cars. The pricing is fair and we don't feel like we are getting "ripped off". Ben was a great find to help me fix my car! His customer service was by far the best I ve ever had at any auto mechanic shop. When I called to make an appointment, he was very kind and flexible with my schedule. He not only fixed the problem that I had with my engine, but also gave me an estimate on how much it would cost to fix some other minor problems on my car. The best part was that the price was very affordable and my car was not even in the shop for 24 hours before it was returned to me. Very professional, very honest, very prompt in service and almost cannot say enough good things about this business. Truly. My friend has a 13-year-old VW van that started halting and conking out while driving. The VW dealership would not take care of her and told her to go to Chrysler because her van has a Chrysler engine. The Chrysler dealership wouldn t take care of her because they said her vehicle was too old. Her vehicle looks brand new inside and out and has only 70,000 miles. One call to this business and they took her in right away, diagnosed the problem, gave an honest estimate and VERY reasonable price, and fixed her the next day. I, personally, will take my beloved vehicles here and I will recommend Ben to all my family and friends. May he be blessed for how good he treated my friend.

Ben was amazing from the day I called for an appointment until the day I picked my car up after the work was completed. Customer service deserves 10 stars! They changed my battery and alternator as well as fixed an oil leak. Prices were amazing and they came recommended by another local automotive mechanic. This is been the best experience I have had with getting a vehicle fixed. I was afraid to take this to somebody that I didn't know or trust. After getting a recommendation from a few customers we decided we would try this place based on word of mouth.We had a transmission issue. Not driving the vehicle very much then one day it decided it didn't want to shift it was hard for us to believe that it would be a transmission like other companies had said. So we toyed with the idea of buying something new but before that we decided to bring it to Ben... worst case he tells us it's the end and then we can buy without guilt. We didn't have much hope but when Ben came back and said it was a sensor, then told us it would be less than $200 to fix. I was shocked. It's hard to find honest people anymore!!! Most places would have acted like they fixed the transmission and charge you $2,000. The great part about this company is that they also list other things that can be done and they list them in the order of importance. He then tells you you should get these done they don't need to be done right away but if you get them done start from the top...work your way down. The vehicle runs smoother than its ran in years. I have been to Southern Wrench Automotive on numerous occasions and this team of mechanics were able to diagnose the problem on my vehicle and brings you in the shop to show you actually whats wrong with it. Ben and his team of mechanics are trustworthy. If you need anything mechanical done on your vehicle and want someone who is going to diagnose your vehicle and give you a fair price. They are not like other shops around town that is out here to get you for your money. I recommend Southern Wrench Automotive to anyone.

Looking for a business to service your vehicle? Look no further than Southern Wrench. Ben and his service team were knowledgeable, and prompt at fixing my 2007 Dodge Charger. If you're looking for an honest Mechanic Ben and is crew are the guys to go see! He's the real deal mechanic with great integrity. I wish I would've found him sooner would have saved so much money. This establishment has great integrity! & a heart of service. I happened to drive by in the late evening one night trying to find a place that could replace my headlights really quickly before I headed on the road for a 3hr drive. They were just getting ready to close, but willingly assisted me & in less than 20 mins, voila! I was all ready to go. Thank you guys for a very pleasant experience. You've earned my trust & a forever customer!

The best experience I ever had at a mechanic shop! South Wrench isn t your typical mechanical shop. I highly suggest them to everyone in Charleston and surrounding areas. The best customer service is guaranteed. The area was clean and reasonably time for what needed to be done. They didn t up-sale. Shoutout to Ben for going above and beyond with thoroughly details when explaining any & everything!! They re now my go to for mechanical work and should be yours to!

These guys are amazing and definitely have my business from here on out. They were very fair with their pricing. They took the time to explain everything to me and let me choose the services I wanted instead of telling me what they were going to do. Ben kept me updated the entire time they had my car. Ben was super friendly and accommodating on the phone while scheduling an appt for an oil change and tire rotation and just as friendly in person at the time of my appt. The shop is new and clean and he takes the time to go over all the work with you that s both being done and that needs to be done in the near future. You even get sent home with an invoice showing you, in order of priority, those future things so you can budget if needed. We just moved to the area and knew no shop to use but for the first time ever, I don t feel at all ripped off for car service I had done or will need! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Services: Tires, Battery, Oil change

I haven t been here yet , UPDATE: won t be going here either after leaving messages and then writing to the suggested email (?) address NO reply,but after reading these reviews , I am happy to have found it. Or So I Thought ? Tried calling there , but the mailbox was full. I believe , next popped up the page , to write what may be wrong with your car etc.. Send via in a form of a message (?). Now I tend to babble , and I did , about the history of my car , how very special it is to me , how other places it has been , haven t treated it correctly. It doesn t matter how old a car is , it still needs to be respected. The last 2 experiences at car dealerships s , were anything else but good.Don t think I ll be going here.

It's hard to reconcile yourself with the emotion and disappointment of needing to repair your car However when it is clearly outlined and the solutions are offered fairly and squarely, it helps you feel more at peace with it.Which is what the guys do here. ...I appreciated the attention to detail they took with the diagnosis, repair, and communication ..in person and texting including the link with the pricing broken down by labor and parts clearlyThe owner operator is experienced and puts all the care you'd expect of a family man with HIS business on the lineWell versed in all types of vehicles with decades of experience and educated on the up and coming types ..hybrid etcThey'll go the extra distance to help you and show you and explain what's going on with all aspects of your carI would recommend them to my family and friends and Everyone via this reviewI will be back to them for future repairs being they earned my loyalty
