This business is very shady bought a car from them in December the owner wasn t there to do transaction so his associate did it and apparently didn t know what she was doing so had to go sign the papers again but date them as he was there the day I purchased then the car. Then tried to transfer my license plate and more out of the sale they applied for a new license plate meanwhile the old tag accrues fees for not being turned in. Would HIGHLY NOT recommend to anybody to do business here unless you want to get screwed over!

I was shopping around for Trucks. I was treated very politely by Gary. He didn't try to upsell me or sell me something I didn't need. Ultimately we couldn't find a vehicle but I would definitely look here again if I was considering a used car or truck. The prices were reasonable. I think most of the negative reviews are people who have buyers remorse or who don't understand that you need to pay for the things you buy....

Awful customer service! There s never anyone available to speak with you when there s an issue! I bought a 2011 Audi less than 30 days the battery went! 2 months later the ac went out! A year later the alternator went bad now my transmission went out i have warranty and out of everything i experienced my warranty only covered the alternator! They kept locking my account from making payments and trying to call them to get someone to unlock it was damn near an all day process! I would never recommend their services! I m definitely looking into getting a lawyer

I will say when you go to purchase a vehicle you are welcomed nicely. ( good sales people ) we put a 3500 down payment on a SUV.Fast forward 3 months my cars insurance was going to lapse for 4 days cause I wasn t getting paid till 4 days later. I try to call them and inform them so they stayed in the look. Took 8 calls for someone to finally pick up. As I informed them. They said it was fine and that I just needed to email them when my insurance got Reinstated. 4 days later I pay my insurance. And send over the info. I go to try and pay my car payment and my account was locked. Again I try to call them. No answer. I called 14 times and left messages. No answer. I email again no response. So the next day I try to log in to pay. My account was still locked. I tried to call and email no answer and no response this went on for 4 months. And finally they answered and told me they needed me to lay 4 months late fees and the payments. I then explained the situation. They did not care. They said I should have came in to the store. I then explained I lived out of state. So that would not have been possible. So I end up paying 3 months of late fees and payments. I told them I would pay the rest in installments with my monthly payments cause I didn t have any more savings. Fast forward about 2 months I barely miss my payment by 12 days. I tried calling to explain my husbands payment was cut short. His job screwed up everyone s pay. And instead of reaching out back to me. They repo my car and don t bother calling to tell me anything. And again I play the calling game trying to reach them.I will say my car never had mechanical issues. Which is a blessing. But the over all service of this company is trash and would not recommend them to anyone ever again. And I took a loan out to just pay the car off to get out from under this crooked penny pinching company.

Roger in the service department is the best!! My car did not have working ac and was making a weird noise so I took it to Gerald's and they told me that I would need to pay $1700 for ac but first I would have to take it to this other place to get my wiring replaced because they said a rat chewed it up. Between the two places I would have spent a minimum of $2000 to fix my 10 year old car. Took it to Roger and he fixed it for less than half that price! This is why I take my car to Roger to get it fixed! It also took him less time to fix it than it would have if I did it Gerald's way.

Service Dept is EXCELLENT! Roger went that extra step to make sure to diagnose exactly what's wrong and then fixed it at a reasonable price. Because of that I had him perform more service work on that vehicle and I'm now having multiple repairs done on two of my other family vehicles that I'd been putting off, and I've been recommending him to EVERYONE.I haven't bought a car from Northwoods but will definitely give them a look in the future when my younger kids need a first car. As for the reviews about "bad cars" or "lemons" -- Folks, you're buying cars that generally are 10 years old or more, or have a lot of miles on them. Stuff breaks, and it's not predictable. Once a car gets over 100k miles, you might as well figure on spending an average of $100-$150 a month on repairs (average meaning nothing for several months and then $500 one month, etc.). Keep that in mind when determining what you can afford for a monthly payment, as well as when they offer you a service contract. You might even consider negotiating a tune-up and changing all the belts and filters into the purchase. And please always remember to change your oil regularly after purchasing. I'm sure Roger and Northwoods would do that for you at a reasonable price.

Got a break on the price. They have a clean lot and attentive staff. Got a fair price on what should be a good car. Time will tell. Mr German is a good easy guy to deal with and I thank him for his patience. The "boss" excepted a fair offer and did all the paperwork needed to drive home on a Saturday. I won't have to do any DMV stuff. Very professional.

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased my vehicle but I was desperate. It's been nothing but a run around from the start. The first issue came when I decided to cancel my warranty so much until I finally just called the warranty company and took care of it myself. I was told when that happened the money would be applied towards my principal balance which I almost a year later no one can tell me if that actually happened or not. Not to mention they won't allow me to apply that towards t amount that is due which any decent bank would do. Flash forward I was late on a payment which caused my car to be repossessed which I take responsibility for. I called to get the amount owed so that I can pay it to get my car back yet again I was given the run around. First I was told that I can pay what I have now then pay the rest and then I was told no you have to pay in full sorry. And then I asked when I pay you can I go and get my car after you contact the tow company I was told no only to have them tell me that it's exactly what needs to be done. Honestly I can't wait to pay this car off so that I can be done with them.....never again. And it's to bad that once I get my commission I can only pay two months in advance. Long store short I should have read the reviews first because they are right once they have your money the could careless about you as a customer.Update - After everything was said and done I ditched the hunk of junk and never looked back. What I didn t mention in the original post was that the car had a faulty fan so there for the car would run hot within min of the car being idle. Long story short it just wasn t worth the stress not to mention that the tow company wouldn t even answer my calls when I attempted to pay them for the vehicle storage. Thankfully I know have reliable that has zero issues. Which thankfully they have nothing to do with.

I absolutely had the hardest time getting around before I got my car from Northwoods Automotive. I had to catch rides with any and everyone. After a while people grew tires of me asking and some even stranded me in the night. I'm so happy they came into my life. I got a practically brand new car for a good price. My car only had 39,000 miles on it and it was. 2015 model. God is good. I am so happy that I chose Northwoods Automotive!

I purchased a Mercedes Benz from this dealership a week ago. The asking price was very reasonable and the vehicle it's self was well taken care of. The sale process was very smooth and Darryl was very efficient in making sure I understood all my options. They're not trying to take your head of with the prices and genuinely want to see you in something you can afford. 5 days later there was an issue with the vehicle. Darryl went above and beyond to rectify it and made sure I understand the process step by step. Northwoods comes highly recommended!

The truck I bought had everything I needed and Lisa my sales person did a great job helping me find what I needed. Then Roger in the service department did an amazing job in his attention to detail. He found that the truck was lacking a part and without me asking said he was taking care of it. There wasn't a lot of pressure to buy. It was a great buying experience . I feel comfortable in saying they actually care and try to help people I to reliable automobiles.

It took some time but good things come to those that wait... I found another foreign vehicle in a very reasonable price range with low monthly payments I would definitely recommend for buyers looking to own a dependable vehicle.

Friendly environment. Great service and customer service experience. I went to Lisa and she was helpful and then I went back to see Victoria and she finished up my car purchase. Great Team keep up the good work!Edit post above was 4 years ago. I went back to see about getting a new car but thank god I knew better this time around took the car to a shop to get a diagnostic test done and it came back with 7k in repairs cost and they was asking for 13k and if I never took it to get looked at I would ve been without a car in 3 months of less. Funny thing is I drove by there today and the car was sold. Smdh please take your cars to get checked out. I did have issues with my first car so that s how I know better now. It was a pretty third row suv clean inside and outside but definitely a surprise under the hood

Awful customer service! This place is a scam and all they want is money! They don t care about the quality of the vehicles they sell or about customer service!! I would not recommend doing business here at all!!!! I purchased a vehicle (gave 3000 in cash) not even a week ago two days later the brakes started grinding really bad, took it back and now they want 100 bucks to even look and see what s wrong with it and then they want me to pay to get it fixed! The owner himself is not willing to compromise or meet me halfway on anything! He just wants more money. The funny thing is I was going to come back in a month get a vehicle for my daughter but I ll never do business here again. And I m going to make sure non of my family or friends do. Now I m trying to find someone (because I refuse to give them another penny) to repair rotors and brakes on a vehicle I just purchased 5 days ago.

BEWARE TREAD LIGHTLY.Put a down payment on a pick up. Engine went out less than 2 weeks of driving. They did offer an extended warranty contract to purchase, which I did. Michelle told me that I needed to pay for half of the repair up front and that it will be a two week process. This was on May 28th. There was very little communication about the repair. I called and left several messages. At this point I contacted an attorney and of course now, the truck is magically repaired and ready Aug. 2nd. By now, I ve already had to purchase another vehicle and no longer needed this vehicle. All I wanted returned was half of the repair because Michelle told me this was a 2 week turn around and they know she told me this and they know she was wrong for telling me this. Now I m out of the down payment and the repair money but I won t be for long.

They Made It Happen, Credit Wasn't The Best, But I Had The Down Payment, And Could Afford The Payments. So I Was Able To Drive Away, No Complaints and Pleased With My Purchase. I Will Buy From Here Until, Until

Purchased a 2013 BMW 530i and test drove it for 3 weeks before signing contract . After I signed my name 5 days later my vehicle broke down with close to 4k dollars in repairs. To all of my Supporters , Endorsements and loyal fans from every loving Bone I have in my body if you come to Charleston south Carolina do not purchase a vehicle from this place unless you are trying to put yourself in a worse situation. Lucky I have been blessed with better options. To afford way better vehicles with the Support and love of all of you .But to all my supporters and fans this is not the route you want to take. Me and my husband got our 2007 Chevy suburban from them about 3 months ago. They were super nice and friendly, and joked around the whole time. I highly recommend them to anyone. They even fixed the crack in the windshield that was there when we got it.

This place is a joke. Made payments. Have proof that payments were made. Then they came up and picked up the car for what they said was 6$ and change. Then they said there is a repo fee of 550.00 and on top of that I need to pay wrecker to get car. Instead of calling me they did this.

Darrell is awesome and always there to help. This is my second time purchasing a vehicle but this time things r different. If u call and let them know ur situation (financial and that u need more time to pay) they say they will make note but being 30 days late is cause for a repo. What does a customer do if they ask for more time?

The guy who approached me on the yard was extremely nice, He really seemed like he was trying to help me find a car, and not just sell me one. The finance guy seemed he could care less. This car seller has a minimum payment of 275$ which to me is just dumb. They did have nice cars. Their mechanics are straight forward. 5 stars if their fiance people seemed like they knew what they were talking about sometimes.

Decent cars but way overpriced! There are a lot of hidden policies, regulations and fees that they don't tell you about because they just want to hurry and get you in car. Once you are off the lot that same great customer service and eagerness to help is gone!!! Don't bother calling up there, they never answer the phone or they put you on hold for long periods of time. Love the vehicles just not the company!

I should be able to get my $1000 deposit back, due to mislead information. I brought a car in the past from you all and it went smooth. I got a second car and return it due to miss led information. These new staff is something else. Mr. Darrell is awersome , but these new staff is something else

I use to live in Charleston and worked for Boeing. One of the Inspectors I worked with told me about North Woods and told me to talk to Darrel the owner. I bought several cars from him over the years and he always treated me fairly and with respect. This is hard to find in the car business. I would highly recommend them to anyone they treat you like family. I would buy there again if I lived in Charleston.
