As my Hummer suddenly shut off on top of a bridge on Hwy 17 thank God there was an exit after coasting down the hill we seen that bright yellow Jimmy's sign from two blocks so we googled and called they got us in fixed it and back on the road within a 2hour time frame this place is great if I lived in the area they would definitely be my go to place. Thank y'all again.

Overall I think this is a good repair shop. The reason for the 1 star review is that 7 years ago Jimmy twice charged me $40 to enroll in a time payment program called Easy Pay Finance. A lady in his office pulled me aside both times and told me he shouldn't be charging that fee. 7 years later there are 2 checks in my mailbox for $40 each from the Easy Pay company reimbursing me for fees I should not have paid. They did their own internal audit and called out improprieties. So there's that......

Jimmy was great! He replaced the oxygen sensor on my car and it was a good price. Then he assured us the car would make it home even with the check engine light on. It went off when we got onto I-40. Thank you Jimmy for telling us to enjoy the rest of our vacation and not charging us for a repair that may not have been needed.

Got the work done in 4 hours. Quicker than expected! Jimmy went the extra mile and took me home then came back and picked me up when my SUV was done. I'm handicap and on SS, so I really appreciate him saving me from 2 taxi rides. Two other people in my apartment complex count on me and my SUV so the quickness he got it back to me was great! The cost was spot on too!

I showed up at 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning, my exhaust was in bad shape and they actually heard me coming. Jimmy and his staff took my car right in fixed it right up at a super fair price. Jimmy's was a miracle. The expert service and dependable work is far better than the service department at any service dealership I have experienced. Jimmy's can fix anything and will not back down from any job presented to them. I will bring any vehicle here for maintenance repairs. The "EasyPay" financing is amazing to use at this location.

I had to visit this place about 4 years ago maybe five and they treated me very well. Had to bring my car over to get a few exhaust spots fixed. They are very fair on pricing. This is not a franchise business. That being said, you can expect more of a humorous environment and pretty cut to the chase no bull. You get the funny signs like hourly rate, increase hourly rate if you watch, increase hourly rate if you help.. lol. Stuff like that. Still holding the heart of Good humor in a shop like it was a long time ago.

Jimmy & his team went above and beyond. I was traveling and was stranded. He explained everything in detail with pro - cons. He gave me a ride to my hotel a couple of times as well as picking me up when work was completed. His team helped pack my car back up so I could get on the road. My car was clean, gas topped off and then I drove 700 miles safely. I highly recommend them. It s a good honest business.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Last November my then 11 year old Kia Rio with 100k on it abruptly broke down not far from their shop. I had it towed there simply because it was the nearest shop. It needed a lot of work and they got it back to near new like condition very quickly, less than two days if I remember, and for a fair price. It drove very well until a few days ago when it inexplicably broke down again. I am not a car person so I have no idea what it was, but I was expecting another $500-$1000 repair bill. I had it towed on Friday evening and by 10am the next morning I got a call that it was ready and that my warranty from the repairs done 8 months prior covered it. Prompt service and they stand behind their work. Highly recommenced.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Three times i wanted to take car to them. Car was repaired and the other two times he "honestly" gave me a suggestion that worked a screw was loose on AC. Then just put ten dollars in gas..

I came to this shop after 5 hours of searching for the right place to service my car. I was supposed to go somewhere else but came back here. He told me they would take care of me and boy, didn't they? My difficult car was serviced for a great price, the right people, and the right attitude. Special shot out to the owner Jimmy who handled my situation with such compassion. My car was a mess. The converter and flange was cut out of this car with an exhaust leak on the flex pipe. They found the best solution for my car and it was impressive. Thanks personally for your help. Melissa thanks for your genuine service with diversity...oh Bobby the welder, you did your thang on my exhaust it sounds great. I drove it for 2 days now. I would definitely come here for service on your exhaust....

My car got stuck in a flash flood while on vacation in Charleston on Queen s street. I could barely get it to a garage by Friday night. By Saturday morning, I was unable to be towed by AAA and was left frustrated. I called Jimmy s in hope that they would be able to help. Not only did they fix my car by giving it a complete tune-up and have me driving home to Pittsburgh, PA the next morning, but Jimmy came out to the garage I parked at and got my car drivable to get to his garage 10 miles away! They service was great, fairly priced, and professional. I have not been better taken care of by a mechanic than at Jimmy s Automotive. I recommend this place for anyone in the area with car trouble or basic car maintenance.Services: Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

I took my 1996 Mazda B2300 there for a fuel leak. He charged me $625 to replace a fuel filler neck and within 1 day it was leaking again. I went online and that part is $43 best price. Where did the other $582 come from? Surely NOT labor just for that! I'm disabled and on a small fixed income so this hit me where it hurt! I'd advise anyone don't get taken so never go there!Service: General repairs & maintenance

My son's car broke down on the Mark Clark late on a Saturday night, and as the nearest garage, it was towed to Jimmy's. Jimmy worked on it Monday morning for several hours and realized that the problems with the fuel and electrical system was potentially beyond the cost of the car itself. He stayed in contact with me throughout Monday discussing options and had another of his technicians take a fresh look at it Tuesday morning. They both agreed that the time it would take to find the source(s) of the problem(s) and then the expected cost to implement the repairs would not be worth it. I mention all this to say: he only charged me for an hour of labor despite obviously spending far more than that just on the scans and tests. He was upfront and honest about what could have been a very expensive (and likely unsuccessful in the long run) service effort. My experience has nothing to do with his shop's workmanship. This is more about his honesty and willingness to tell it like it is and lose out on a potentially lucrative transaction by simply doing what might technically be justified but ultimately meaningless. If you are in the area and in need of help, you could do a lot worse than giving Jimmy and his team a chance to look at your car. I was down there 4 hours from home for Army drill and my truck barely limped to the shop on a busy Saturday morning. Jimmy and Martin were incredibly accommodating and equally as brilliant under the hood. Great experience. I highly recommend Jimmy s!

Jimmy s was a referral by a female friend , I am female as well. As you can imagine being a woman is a scary thing when going for auto services... I thought I needed transmission service but they were honest and told me my alternator was going out, and spark plugs etc were needed the job was done in 1 day and car runs great!! I called today because of my evac system so I called in and explained to Jimmy what auto zone diagnosed and how much would it cost... WELL JIMMY TOLD ME THE PRICE TO START WITH BUT THEN HE SAYS YOU CAN GO AND DO(.............!!) to see if this fixes the problem instead of spending the money coming here. AWESOME!! Couldn't be happier with the work. They showed me the parts they pulled and explained what was replaced and why. I was also able to utilize a 90 day payment finance plan. I will definately be back!

Talked to a guy about my car over the phone was told to bring my car by in a few days to be seen, called a a hour early just to confirm was to to come by in a hour got there then was told rudely that I was supposed to call back in a hour not come and to take my car somewhere else and that was that didn't even get out of the chair to acknowledge me or apologizemy car never was touched waste of time and drive

My engine overheated on the way back from Myrtle Beach, SC. My family and I were only a short way into our 9-hour trip when we found ourselves sitting at an AutoZone, looking for available mechanics in the North Charleston area. I ended up calling Jimmy s Auto after the store s recommendations fell through, and I am so glad I did. I highly doubt we would have received such great service anywhere else. Jimmy came up to the AutoZone immediately and helped us get back to his shop. One of his mechanics stayed late into the night to make sure we were on the road in the morning. Jimmy even took us to and from our hotel, which was a welcome gesture considering the unexpected service bill! Still, I was pleased with the price of service as well, which more than fair considering how quickly they got things done. We made it back to Florida safely, and on schedule! We had a wonderful experience with the entire team at Jimmy s Auto and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an honest mechanic.

Bringing my car to Jimmy's was a great experience. He had all the repairs done in one day and since my car broke down on the way to work, he gave me a ride to work! I appreciate the kindness shown and honesty about the work needed. And he says he stands by his work, which makes everything a little easier to handle.

Jimmy s is the place to go in Charleston for your auto repair needs. I ve had exhaust pipes, oil changes, and car repairs done on my different vehicles over the years and recently when I had car trouble I went back again. As usual I left completely wowed and impressed. My Ford Escape runs better than it ever did after he fixed it all up for me. They work fast and efficient and you don t have to worry about dishonesty or upcharges. You can truly leave their knowing your vehicle was given the best car care possible, at a very reasonable and fair price. I won t go anywhere else again. I ll admit I had been doing my oil changes recently closer to my dwelling, but that s over now, only Jimmy s from now on.

Took my vehicle to Jimmy's and had an overall good experience. After checking out my vehicle, he even offered to have someone take me home due to my vehicle not being so safe on the road. Service was very fast, and he stayed true to the quote that he had given me. Walking in a repair shop as a woman and alone I felt very shaky from the jump, but he was straight to the point and very informative.

Great service! Traveling from out of town and needed repair on our brakes. We stopped at another shop first and was quoted over $1300 and then came to Jimmy's. Same parts and labor at half the cost. Amazing above and beyond service while we waited with 3 young kids. Thank you for getting us back on the road!!
