Could not have had better service than I did with Gene and Jared at the river Ave Gerald s. Long time customer but this was my first at rivers and my best experience yet. I got a great deal on really good tires and super fast service. They called me when they were in and 30 minutes later I was back done and back in my office.

While in Charleston for a conference I found myself with a nail in my front tire. I had my car towed to #5 Gerald s Tires and Brakes and arrived :30 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Danny for allowing me to have my tire changed even though they were so close to closing. I understand how easy it would have been for them to say no, we don t have time today , but not only did Gene at the front make me feel less anxious about the situation, Danny was more than gracious and professional even though I caused him and his employees to have to work late. I wish there was a way to leave a tip when paying with a card, because this is one business where I truly feel the employees deserve it. The cherry on top of the cake was a beautiful rose with a Thank-you from the company was in the door handle. Customer service level 1000000.

Gerald s #5 has been speedy in special ordering tires I requested and getting them within a few days. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is very easy to find and plenty of seating if you wait for your vehicle on site.

I have been coming to this location for some years now. But Mr. Gene is truly one that has made my last few experiences amazing! As someone who it's a stickler for great customer service, he always has a smile and is willing to help no matter if the line is out the door. During my recent visit he provided exceptional customer service which is so helpful being a woman who doesn't know much cars. While waiting for my car, multiple of us complimented him on his amazing personality and customer service each time we visit. That in itself tells you a lot! Thank you again Mr. Gene for all of your help today!

Flat tire repaired quick and efficient helped me get home on time. It was 12/26 and they even gave my wife a rose. Nice touch. This is my second time here in two yrs and both times they impressed me.

Gene is the best! I got a flat tire at the very end of the work day, and they were still so helpful, quick & sweet. I highly recommend these guys.

I've been using Gerald's since they sold recaps. Trying to wrap my head around a warranty situation. Back in 2020 I let a guy talk me into buying Cooper Evolutions, a 65,000 mile tire. I still have the receipt BTW. I went by a Gerald's shop for air a couple weeks ago for air (December 2023) and a tech said I needed new tires. I said OK let's do the adjustment. My tires have about 34,000 miles even wear. He said I'd get nothing. I asked why not since these are 65,000 mile tires. He said they were too worn. OK, so what? I rotate my tires and I drive easy. I'm 76 years old. No matter, he said. So why did I buy 65,000 mile tires if they know they're going to wear out within 35,000 miles? I paid lots more for these tires in 2020. I can probably get 35,000 miles out of a cheap tire considering my driving habits and save lots of money up front. I like Gerald's service but I can't wrap my head around this warranty issue. Botton line, don't let techs talk you into buying high mileage tires. It's a waste of money. Buy cheap and if they wear out in 3 years just buy more cheap ones. Oh, the manager told me to call corporate. I did. No return call.

Best service ever .. I called today for two tires being mine was on the verge of popping . I spoke with June , he told me he would be able to order them and to give me a call when they arrived well to my surprise less the a hour June called me back saying he got them in !!!! Stoked I went up there where gene and Bryan helped me at the front desk .. gene was just so lovely and so personal .(thank you for letting me know lighting bugs can still be seen ) . usually with tire shops they aren t so nice and rush you off not gene !!! I would recommend everyone to stop going to whoever they go to for tires and shop Gerald s and not just any Gerald s this one right here and ladies last but not least .. who doesn t love a rose every now and then? , we ll upon my departure I got a beautiful rose thank you gene , Bryan and June it felt amazing driving safe again .. thank you all for your amazing customer service and thank you for helping me get back on the road fast and at a amazing price , overall you all are amazing and I will be referring all friends and family to your store

Gene was the best! We were traveling out of town when we had a flat tire. Their service was impeccable, but Gene was the one who really made it so amazing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!

Nothing makes a Monday more manic like finding nails in two of your tires, but Gerald s saved my day. Gene at the desk gave great customer service and conversation to lighten my mood. Bryan and the guys in the service department were able to identify the problem right away and fixed both tires, having me on my way in no time. I had previously been told that I needed a whole new tire at another shop, and Gerald s is always honest, so I knew I should take my car there instead. My instincts were correct, and this location was the right place. Their sign says smiles are free and that is the truth!

Any time something shows up on the dash in my car, this Gerald s location is my go to! Most recently, Gene at the counter and Bryan in Tires helped me with a smile. They were awesome as always and I left with peace of mind, knowing that the job was done right! Gerald s has always been an affordable place to have quality service done on all my vehicles. Whenever I visit Gerald s it s like I m one of the guys, Just Having Fun ! Thanks and keep doing what you do! You re the best hands down!!!

I appreciate the outstanding service and even told my coworker that I was so pleased with her recommendation to use your shop. Everything is working great and your family at Gerald's #5 did a wonderful job. They treated us well when we came in to pick up the car, check out and even helped up jump it off so I could go get the new battery. They gave us a military discount because my husband is a veteran, left a beautiful rose on my seat, and went out of their way to continuously communicate thorough out the process,which all meant so much to me. Thanks so much for everything!

I love Number 5! I live closer to the West Ashley locale but I typically drive a few more minutes for this one! They have the friendly staff and the quick service I need.. That s ALL Gerald s but this one clearly caters toward their demographic, keeping stocked on Quality Used Tires. New tires are priced fair as well!! Their oil change is better than other places who specialize in oil changes. On Wednesdays all ladies get a rose!

I trust Gerald s 100%Thought I needed brakes (grinding sound), they found it was just a splash shield dragging.Other places would have sold me unnecessary brakes, as I m not a mechanic - Gerald s has honest people that won t take advantage of you.These days, it s hard to find auto service you can trust. Try Gerald s, I buy all my tires at Gerald s because they take great care of my cars. Excellent pricing too!

The people are very rude and unprofessional. Did not want to help me with my flat tire. Told me to move my vehicle away from the building after seeing that the tire was clearly barely Off of rim.then the guy Still didn't want to help me didn't not care to help me at all. I tried Bernie's they were very professional and nice, and welcoming to they're customers. They fixed the problem right away no questions asked " I would definitely recommend Bernie's instead of these jerks!

Took my car in well before thanksgiving for travel maintenance. they said I had a bad wheel bearing and fixed it, and changed a tire. left with my whole dash lit up with ABS light, TP light, and so many more. They told me to come in again and I did. They said it was a faulty wheel bearing and mag strip and replaced them, and warrantied it out plus a new tire, also warrantied out. After, I notice my car is shaking more than it ever has and we went back again the day before I was supposed to leave to travel for thanksgiving, they said they fixed whatever issue it was and it was safe to travel with. We then leave early the next day, its also pouring rain at the time. Get on the highway and the car is shaking so bad. We turned around and took it to Mavis and they said that they had to be so careless to not notice or just didn't want to fix the main issue: my axel is broken, rotors are severely warped, the other two tires they didn't replace are stripped, more faulty bearings plus more. This was such a huge inconvenience considering I went in initially with so much time to get any issues corrected-with money ready to pay for any repairs needed. I am giving 2 stars because they were very nice to me and my boyfriend that brought the car in initially. I have gone to Gerald's for years and have never had problems like this, which makes this harder and now I have to find a new tire and brake shop.

Nothing but good things to say about this place.z have been coming for years and they re always helpful and friendly. Because of staffing, there s a wait at the counter or on the phone (sometimes). But , it s nothing that would stop me from coming back. Especially since they always honor their warranty and patch tires at no cost.

Oh, my! I was absolutely dreading the task of attending to my flat tire in 29405. WHO would have thought such an oasis of friendly, efficient service existed on this end of Rivers Avenue?THANK YOU, Tire Mgr. Matthew and CSR Stephanie for getting me back on the road painlessly...and with coffee and a rose!Five stars. HIGHLY recommend this location.

Rich was super friendly and very helpful at the counter. I didn't catch the name of the gentlemen who patched my tire, but I am so grateful! I woke up to a nearly flat tire just when I needed to head back home to GA, and not only did the crew at Gerald's do a fantastic job, they didn't charge me and gave me this sweet rose. I am so so grateful and highly recommend this shop!

My Husband and I caught a flat on the opposite side of the road across from this particular Gerald's. We called inquiring about tires and the workers were nice over the phone especially Sheldon in the tire department. When we arrived with a clearly flat tire that we already struggled to make it into the parking lot and parked in the closest spot, a worker with glasses was very rude to us and told us we had to move the car and he couldn't help us. This was our first time visiting this place and we are disappointed with the no service we received. This wasn't Great Customer service that is advertised.

We had the nicest man help us, I either didn't get his name or forgot it but he deserves major props. We were looking for a used tire. They didn't have the one we needed on site so he called around and found one in Summerville. I thought we'd have to drive out there to get it but he said someone would drive it over to us. It was so convenient and he was beyond kind to us. This place really goes above and beyond

Not happy at all - not only did they not fix the tire on my vehicle they damaged the rim in the process. Now I need to pay to fix both the tire and have my rim stripped and repainted. I would avoid this Geralds.Just Wanted to add - Gerald's made everything right, Had the wheel repaired and it is good-to-go. Not happy this happened but you definitely made it right. Thank you!

Absolutely love this place! Whenever I need help I always come here. June was awesome, he got me in and out and about 30 minutes. I highly recommend gerald s tire!

Great service! Got there about 8 am with a flat tire. It was repaired and the car was ready to go in 30 minutes. They did not even charge for the repair!! Had heard Gerald s #5 was great, I agree!!

I will always use Gerald s whenever I have tire or brake needs. In the past they have been very efficient and will tell me if I do not need something they have fixed flats for me for free and when I asked for my brakes to be checked they told me everything was fine and I didn t need any repairs. they are always efficient, helpful and trustworthy!

This started out not being a very fun experience when I walked out to my vehicle yesterday afternoon & saw a very low tire inflation on my right passenger tire. I had a very nice neighbor who used his portable air compressor to reinflate it and then called Gerald s Tire & Brakes #5-Shawn told me they could take care of this issue this afternoon so I drove on over and everyone was So Nice! Shawn on the phone; the assistant who checked me in; the person who returned my keys; and the person who gave me the thumbs-up when my car was ready and then to not have any charge for these services was astounding. To top it off there was a long-stemmed red rose in my driver s door handle and another one on the front seat! I am originally from the midwest and I thought we knew all about service and hospitality, but I have never experienced this type of service before-all with smiles from everyone! I highly recommend this business!

I wish there were more stars. My wife and I ate visiting from VA and got into a really bad auto situation.. long story short, yes, they took AMAZING care of our vehicle but more importantly, they took care of US.. we were in a really dire situation and legitimately made the unthinkable happen I will forever be grateful for the fellas over here. I still cant believe it hardly makes sense when it comes to the care, consideration, and friendliness a dark situation they turned into light. They brought happy tears to my wife s eyes no kidding.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Byran for doing an awesome job! He really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of throughout the entire service.
