My mom and I were on a long drive from Florida to New York with a timeline we had to stick to, and we had a bad coil cause the engine to misfire. So we called and they took us right away early morning and got everything fixed in less than an hour. The price was fair and the service excellent. Very thankful for their help during this stressful situation!

We broke down on our way home. 1 hour and 30 minutes into a 5 hour trip. Our car was taken to Davis Auto Service with a shredded drive belt and a broken pulley. This place was incredible !!! Not only was our car repaired overnight and ready by 11 AM the next morning, but we were charged a fraction of what we thought we would have had to pay. Since we were from out of town and the car was rather flashy, we could have easily been taken advantage of. Thankfully this is a place I would trust over and over again. Nothing extra or unnecessary was done. We got in and got out with no issue, just plenty of gratitude for doing business with them. Super happy and thankful for this company and everyone who works for them.Service: Engine repair

Took my vehicle right in and fixed it but Mr Davis usually calls to tell you what's going on. Even if someone says it's a part that needs fixed it should of still been checked to make sure that's correct, that's why they have that computer to check. Charged 180 for something that didn't fix the problem. I'm really not that mad about that it's a 2008 so it would probably need it down the road. But I believe it should of been put on the computer to be checked first regardless of what we may of thought it was were not the mechanics with the computer. This company has always been good to me but used to at least call and say that's not bad let me check something else, yeah didn't happen

I would not recommend Davis automotive! The reason being I took my Dodge journey to them it was making a noise underneath the hood.Tony call me told me that my truck was ready and that it was the alternator that was making the noise. It took them 2 hours to fix it. When I pick up my truck it was in worse shape for when I took it. I had to get a boost 3 times just to make it home. It was after hours when I pick up my truck as well! I took my truck back to him today and then Tony called me and said that my alternator was find I had needed a alternator connector which is called a pigtail don't you know they charged me 86 dollars for that. The pigtail was 16 dollars they charged me 70 dollars for labor and they just put the alternator on yesterday and charged me 614 dollars. Tony told me that they was trying to save me money. That's a lie they over charged me for work that supposed to had been done when they put on the alternator! So yes I was ripped off they got paid for labor twice for something they should have done the first time instead of trying to save me money as Tony says! Tony was looking out for himself! Worse business I ever experience! Please if you ladies don't want to be ripped off do not take your vehicle there! You will be better off at the dealership!

DONT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A WOMEN THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU AND MAKE YOU PAY 60$ FOR A RECEIPT!!!I just wanted to make sure everything was running good on my vehicle and they told me it wasnt and i needed a new motor because it was misfiring. Then they told me to receive a receipt it was 60 dollars !!? I needed a receipt to show my mom who would be the one paying for the car to get fixed and would need proof i went to the mechanic b4 giving me 2000 dollars which is what they told me it would be to fix my engine 1,995 dollars exactly. Dont go to this place if you are a female they will make you pay for reciepts and treat you like dirt right in your face BTW THE REASON IT MISFIRED WAS BC IT NEEDED A SPARK PLUG!!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto emissions testing

First time we used Davis Auto Repair for an issue with brakes, the service was great but the price was hiked up. We did not mind paying it, because service was great and they got the work done in a great time. Today however was a completely different experience. We went in for an oil change and also had led highlight we wanted installed but went mainly to have the oil change done. Dropping the car off, we got a rude customer service. The car was dropped off when the business opened so around 1pm, we called to check on it and ask about the oil being used the very rude older man asks, did I call you to tell you it was done? And he hung up before we could even get out all that we actually called about. Well about 2:50pm he calls to say come get the car, the lights couldn t be put on because it were missing pieces. While waiting for a ride to go get the car, he calls again to come get the car because they are closing early today. When we arrive to pick up the car, not only could they not find the keys, the oil change was not done! They held on to the car all day and did not a thing! No oil change, no one there that knew how to install the lights, lost the keys and provided the worst customer service, I guess as a dessert to top up the overall horrible experience. I mean there ain t much in Dillon, but this is the place you DONT want to spend your money at.Services: Electrical, Brakes, Oil change

My wife and I were traveling on I95 at approximately 1400 hrs on a Thursday. Our vehicle lost power and we had to pull over and call for a tow truck. My insurance company got us a local tow truck company to pick us up. We arrived at Davis Auto at 1545 hrs.I explained what had happened. It began to rain. Before I knew it I had two mechanics with their heads under the hood, troubleshooting my vehicle. Quickly, they realized it was not going to be a fast fix. At 1555 hrs, they are pushing my car into the garage.At 1610 hrs they have discovered I had a bad alternator. By 1630 hrs, they had called all their suppliers and told me apologetically, that they could not get the alternator until 0800 the next morning. (They don t open till 0900).The owner volunteered to take us to a hotel for the night. Which I thought was super kind.Mr. Davis told me to call him at 0800-0830 hrs and he would give me an update.I called at 0830, figuring the mechanics would not start working till 0900. Mr. Davis promptly answered the phone and told me it was fixed and he could come pick me up. My jaw about hit the floor. He was there to pick me up before 0900. I m writing this review on I95 at 0945 hrs 20 miles outside of Dillion.I m my eyes this place set the gold standard.

Davis Auto Service people are GREAT. They got me in and out quickly. They have some really nice people. Highly recommend visiting them if in trouble.

Had to take my vehicle there three times before they fixed my ac completely. Called to get a quote on some other repairs and the guy who always answers is rude and has no clue even for a quote. I suggest taking your vehicle to Lloyd's garage. He's a straight up guy and performs excellent work the first time.

Some auto places have terrible work for bogus prices, this isnt one of them. They do really good work. The reason I'm only giving them two stars is simply because I had work done on my vehicle out of state before traveling to SC. The work i had already paid someone else to do was not sufficient at all and I was still hearing the issue I thought I had paid to have repaired. Now I dont know why Davis Auto would not work on or even look at my vehicle to determine what the actual cause of the noises were that i was hearing, but I feel like that is the WORST customer service ever. I didnt pull up in a 2021 vehicle. So I dont feel like the company should have the right to deny service to a paying vustomer who just wants their auto issues resolved. Will i return... probablynot but I will not refer anyone to them ever again as long as I m in SC.

Lost a wheel bearing late in day on I95 heading to NY with wife, large dog and all belongings on board. Was able to limp it off of 95 and in to Dillon to Davis Auto. Within 5 min of arrival it was diagnosed, on the lift and in waiting for part mode. They made hotel arrangements and shuttled us to motel. By 10:15 A.M. next day they were at our room with the van and she was good to go. Davis Auto turned an absolute nightmare in to a no biggie at all in 5 minutes. I wont disclose what they charged because I swear they forgot a digit on the bill ! Unbelievable hospitality, service and way more than fair charges. Thanks Tim, Michael & team. Your business deserves to and will prosper based upon our experience.

One of the best auto services money can buy. Growing up, our family used Davis Auto Service for some our vehicles. As an adult, I ll still drive an hour to them for some of the fastest service in town. Very professional and dependable.

Not friendly and did not disclose what items were not used as provided also no disclosure of that info.. and did not offer dollar exchange for motor items they intended to keep for what 1 item they claimed they had to buy. Had a 100 % motor whole block" replacement where motor was delivered to them bought at Jeggs but did not tell us certain parts were not on unopened crate upon receiving. Simply put .. no openness about the entire recieving.. of all we bought.. givin and shipped directly to them which in my opinion should have been laid out on pickup..as well as listed on reciept.. honesty and information should come b4 all other. They would have certainly been able to use items we delivered to them to make and /or recover for what they spent on extra part. No items were returned to us until our recherch showed all of the above mentioned. And still one item that was supposed to be included in the whole block we provided was told not included. Tickets should include what was given to them..items not recieved, and adjustment if they are going keep items "missing " should be be offered as a swap or returned to owners whatever their choice. I would hope this gives them a new way of doing business, full disclosure, do not keep items without speaking with customer first because one thing our small city needs is a honorable and trustworthy mechanic. This is meant as a learning tool not a complete criticism. I hope this is the way it is taken. Thank you and I wish them many more years of business because we need it here..........I would like to add most problems were remedied however we did have to initiate it. All in All considering the choices we have in Dillon I would do business with them again. They were busy and given the benefit doubt and my first time going there I can see how some things could have fell thru the cracks. So this being said , should you need their services give them a chance and form your own opinion. Finding out for yourself is always best.

This place sucks.Had my car for over a month waiting to have them put engine in and then they tell me I had to get it out of there.They started to charge $30 a day.I signed the car over to my lien holder and let them pay for storage fees.

Had issue with brakes. Temp fix and then BOOM problem solved. Thanks to Tim Davis. In and out in just a little while. Tim is always accommodating. Will return.
