We drove down from Charlotte, NC to look at an SUV that we wanted for our family. We had been communicating with Chris and Ethan the entire week before the drive down. They were always incredibly nice on the phone and the didn t disappoint in person either. They were so helpful and accommodating. We would drive down there all over again. Highly recommend.

Purchased a F250 at the end of December. Traded in a PAID for truck towards this truck. Drove an hour and a half home and the heat quit working. Noticed that coolant was leaking, suspected that it was a cracked radiator. Contacted Genesis and they were gracious enough to purchase a new radiator and have it shipped to us. Go to replace radiator, it's not leaking. Find out that the motor has a blown head gasket and oil/coolant is mixing together not allowing the system to be pressurized. Contact Genesis again, the owner Dale, request that the truck be brought to him for diagnosis...no cost to us. So missed work to bring the truck down to Cottageville just for it to sit there and never be diagnosed because they don't have an in-house diesel mechanic. I have asked multiple times for a diagnostic report to see if we can potentially just have the truck fixed but no luck..Tried to get us to swap trucks with another f250 that had more play in the steering wheel than mud truck. Then proceeded to tell us that the bank wouldn't stretch out as far as the 1st truck so the payments would go up another $100/month. So my husband and I walked out because that was not acceptable. Now we have been going on 3 weeks with them "trying" to find us another truck but yet can't return phone calls and always busy when called. So now not only are we out of the F250, we are out of a paid for truck that was traded in, plus our credit is screwed.

Let's just say I'm not a young gal, so I like things done in an old fashion kind of way! That being said, I can search the internet. I found Genesis while looking for the perfect Minivan to join mine and Tom's life. The web site is great! After exchanging several emails with Ethan and talking to both Chris and Mr. James Smoak on the phone, Tom and I took a road trip to Cottageville. From my very first communication to the last signature, the transaction was professional, easy, and pleasant! I followed a "new-to-me" Minivan home, after making a side trip to Duke's Barbeque in Walterboro, of course! Good stuff! Thank you, Ethan, for sending me all the pictures and info! Thank you all for your help! Genesis is a great used car dealership! This is how car sales were done the first time I bought a car. I bought my 2011 Mercury Mariner here. I m still in love with it months later. My grandparents bought a truck here many years ago, so that s why I chose this dealership. The man who helped me pick my car was very sweet and kind. Great customer service. They even filled up the tank before I left! Thank you!

Recently bought a Jeep Liberty here. Ethan and Vince, were incredibly friendly and made the process very easy. They fixed all the little things quickly, and helped me through the process of getting a loan approved. I absolutely love my Jeep and will buy here again. UNPROFESSIONAL AT BEST. So I went to inquire about a 2010 Suburban last Sat. Test drove it, checked under the hood. 2 spark plugs seemed to be moving like they were loose. I ask if they could have their mechanic check it Tuesday so I could come back and purchase. Ive called back 3x they informed me each time they'd get it checked out the next am.. well its been a week and no one has called me back. What a waste of time. I really wanted that suburban too... I would not recommend them

Just bought car from Genesis James and Dale were very friendly and personal they made me feel like they had known me for years and it was my first time ever being there, it made my car buying experience not so stressful. As I really dislike car dealerships, these guys were good to work with.

BUYER BEWARE!!!Had to edit my original review. The staff was very helpful and friendly during the buying process, but once we purchased our Blue 2017 Ford F150 Lariat everything changed. We purchased the truck August 15, 2022 and thought everything was great. After arriving home we discovered the coolant was leaking out of the truck. Called the dealership on Tuesday to inform them of the issue and they told us to bring it back in. Had the truck towed back to the dealership on Wednesday the 17th and they kept the truck until Saturday the 20th and returned it to us, but couldn t tell us why the coolant was leaking or where the coolant was going. By the 22nd the coolant was below the minimum line. Called the dealership again and the owner Dale and his mechanic still didn t have an answer for what was going on. We called Walterboro Ford and had the truck towed there on August 31st. Received a call from the dealership on September 1 informing us the truck needs a new motor and catalytic converter. We informed owner Dale of the findings. He wanted a second opinion. We were done with the back and forth so we requested a refund. On September 6 the dealership took the truck to Ravanel Ford for another second opinion. Once again we requested a refund for the purchase. On September 8th owner requested the 10 day payoff amount for the truck we assumed that he was going to payoff the truck. Of course that was not the case. Owner did not refund the $500 sales tax and did not refund the $75 for the title which was never transferred out of his name. Went on Saturday September 10 to pick up the refund check from the dealership and of course the owner was not there. We needed to get personal things that were left in the truck and was informed we had to drive 30min to Ravanel Ford to retrieve our items. Once we got back home we received a call from the dealership stating we owed a $149 diagnostic fee and we were supposed to pick the truck up on the 8th. This was the worst car buying experience we ve ever had. Please don t shop here!!!!

Make sure you get some kind of warranty in writing. We bought our truck here and the transmission went out at 15000 miles. Their answer? Sorry bout your luck. Still have $10,000 to pay and have to pay half that on a new transmission. Not a good experience. We will not be purchasing another vehicle from them.

This was the best car buying experience I have ever had!When I called to check the vehicle listed on CarGurus was on the lot the dealership owner answered and confirmed that it was. When I arrived the sales rep James Smoak had the vehicle ready to test drive. It was fully detailed and ready to drive home. The test drive was fine, but I wasn't impressed with the vehicle. Not because of poor vehicle condition or anything, I just didn't like the car.I walked the lot under my own volition and without pressure or shadow. I did see some other vehicles I wanted to test drive and when I asked for the keys to a particular vehicle James asked if I was interested in a project vehicle. I wasn't, but I was thoroughly impressed with his candor. I test drove another vehicle and we discussed financing and other details. James was forthright and honest about what could be accommodated and what couldn't. I carried on in the same frank and honest manner and told him what I could and couldn't do. I also told him that I was shopping today and buying tomorrow. I told him I had other vehicles at other lots to look at. This is where I was really impressed. James didn't badmouth other dealers or turn-up the pressure. He let me know how late he would be available and asked me to let him know how my shopping went. Everything I did the rest of the day was judged against this experience. Nothing else compared. I had such a positive experience I wanted to be back first thing the next morning, and did just that.I purchased the vehicle and though a warranty was offered it wasn't pushed the way they usually are. I am confident in the vehicle and the dealerships willingness to stand behind what they sell. I would not only recommend Genesis, but would take pleasure in driving someone out there.Many thanks to James, John and Dale for a wonderful experience.

My husband bought a truck from them we had a good experience James was great and so was vince but the truck had a few problems on the way home i would recommend you go there and see what they got they are making a name for there self with true southern hospitality and great work ethic they will get you what you want for what you want to pay keep up the good work .
