My experience with Boyd was top-notch. They were knowledgeable and friendly, communicative without being overly-so. My new mower is great and I'm very pleased with everyone I encountered from Joey who called and walked me through the process to the delivery driver (I'm sorry I didn't get your name) who was respectful and friendly. I will highly recommend Boyd to all my family and friends.

EDIT: your response makes zero sense. I never had a disagreement with another JD dealer. I explained I had a bad previous experience with them, hence why I was trying to give you business. But you refused to hear me out and kept cutting me off and over talking me. Also i did not hang up on anyone. And regardless of someone does or does not, that doesn t prevent you from calling someone back. No need to blatantly lie, especially if your lie makes zero logical sense. I was referred to this place by John Deere as they are an authorized JD retailer and service center supposedly. John Deere advised any JD authorized center can work on a warrantied lawn tractor. I called and spoke with John and explained to him I ve had bad service from another local business and wanted to give them service and have them look over my mower because it appears to have a bad carburetor. He said no problem at all he will transfer the call over to have a pick up scheduled. He transferred the call and the line hung up on me. I called in 15 more times before someone would pick up. John explained he was there by himself and he gave me the phone number ending in 3231 to speak with service to schedule a pick up. Then comes Joey. This man was absolutely a disgrace. He was rude and disrespectful. He over talked me. Refused to hear me out and he said because I didn t buy my mower from Boyd, their policy is they will not be willing to service the warranty on my machine. I attempted to explain to Joey that JD told me that they should be able to service my machine under warranty. He said since I ve dealt with another company before they have no interest in helping me with this issue. I asked for his manager. He said you re speaking to him. I called back again and I spoke with Joey s wife. I tried to tell her that he was being rude and asked her if what he advised was true and their policy. She refused to comment and said she would call back. Never did. I called John Deere to report this company. If you are looking for help servicing your John Deere equipment, do not expect the service you d expect when dealing with John Deere. Absolutely awful experience.

They have extraordinary customer service here. They are a Gravely authorized dealer. They have mostly commercial grade zero turns of all deck sizes plus they also have a few John Deere mowers. They'll take cash or you can finance them. They also have a healthy stock of Blowers and lawncare equipment !!!

The impression that they have given me as of now that it's all about making the money. Cold way of putting it, but that's strongly how I feel about shopping here and not sure if I'll be getting my parts from them or not

I am satisfied with the service, the 8 or so times I have been there they were very helpful The only draw back is they are limited as far as hardware goes, I usually check there before making the trip to a box store, but usually end up there anyway. I hope one day they will expand just a little on the basics. This is a small town but also a loyal one if it makes sense.

I am pleased with service and professionalism I received from Brown Boyd from start to finish. He welcomed me in the store and went over the differences between appliances. When I called to make my purchase he worked me in same day delivery. He couldn't promise but he made it happen. Thank You Mr. Boyd for making your customers top priority.

I went to Boyd s the Spring of 2019 to purchase a new mower. I went to Boyd s off the recommendation of my brother in law and to give small business the money rather than the big box stores. I strolled around the show room for quite a while and was never acknowledge. The only other people there were the two guys on the counter. Needing a mower, I approached one of them for service. They had John come to help out. John was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, gave me the oil and a filter for my 1st oil change. I left feeling good About my purchase and support of family business. I do not own a pickup truck or trailer so I drove back to N.C. to borrow my brother in laws truck and trailer and returned to Boyd s to pick it all up and take it home. This is where the story turns...After only 6 hours on my new Gravely, half way through my 6th cut , the blades stopped engaging. This is my first zero turn, and I still considered it new, so I decided to take it back to Boyd s rather than trying it myself. Keep in mind, this is no easy task. I went a borrowed my brother in laws truck and trailer and made the 30 minute drive to Boyd s. So procuring truck and trailer and the trip to Clover was around an hour of my day each way. Of course I had to leave it so drove back home. When they finished they called and I returned once again to pick it up. To my displeasure, I was charged for them to put the belt back on the mower. I didn t say anything and paid the bill as I m not much of a complainer. I just figured a $3500 purchase may have awarded me some consideration for a repair like that only 6 hours into the life of my machine. I became really dissatisfied when the belt threw again after an additional 4 hours. I decided I wouldn t be a sucker this time and put the belt back on myself. During this process I discovered the belt was twisted (turned inside out) where it wrapped around one of the pulleys. So their mechanics charged me for a job the didn t even do correctly. I completely removed the belt and untwisted it and reinstalled it. I ve now been mowing with no more issues. The mower even sounds better when the blades are engaged and goes in and out of mowing a lot smoother.Wanted to share my experience as the point was sale was awesome. They say and do all the right things. The service after the sell, in my opinion, leaves a lot to be desired. I don t go out looking for something for free, just don t feel i was treated fairly after deciding to give them my business. I bet Lowe s would have treated me differently. I was planning on allowing them to complete the regular maintenance for the life of my mower but after this experience I ll reconsider.Edit: I promptly was contacted by Joey from Boyd s this morning! I want to thank him for his call. I certainly feel better after speaking to him. Yes, he agreed to refund the money for the repair to my mower even though I wasn t asking. It was not really the money but more the frustration. I explained to him as I realize I should have addressed my concern at the time of the repair but as I mentioned earlier, I m not much of a complainer. He explained how they receive equipment from the manufacturer and assured me to reach out should I have any more problems. Believe it or not, this helped me understand how things like this could arise. After all, they are machines! Thank you Joey!

Boyd tire and appliance is my go to place for John Deere parts for my 33 year old John Deere riding mower. I have only had 1 occasion in which they didn't have the part I needed and im sure that has something to do with the fact the part I needed has been discontinued. They did help me track 1 down in Indiana. Always super nice and super helpful.

I needed blades for my JD riding mower. Apparently i have the only 38 inch riding mower that JD made because you can't get blades for this Thing anywhere else in the free world. So I come here. They had said blades to which I purchased. They are very nice and knowledgeable here. So I take my blades home and 12.5 hours later I had new blades on the mower. Now that was 12.5 hours working time not consecutive time. The bolts were on so tight the bolts rounded off. Then after heating we finally got one to break loose. Oh the other one why it snaps off. So then we weld a 3 ft bar to it and got it out. So yay me. Now it's not Boyd's fault. They were great, this just reaffirmed my feeling of JD and their inferior Chinese and Indian parts they build these lawn mowers with. But this is all you need to know. If you have a JD device. These guys can help you. They are great. The JD brand not so much.

For years we have purchased most of our tools and lawn equipment from one of the major retailers however we recently purchased a Gravely ZT HD 60 Zero Turn mower from Boyd Tire & Appliance and were immediately impressed with their friendliness and knowledge of the product during the sale. After the sale was even more impressive. The new Gravely was much different than my 10 year old mower so I had a lot of questions and made a lot of calls but all of my questions were answered with courtesy and professionalism. I highly recommend Boyd Tire & Appliance. Great staff, great company.

I bought a 60" Gravely last summer and have been nothing but extremely happy with it. I have 6.7 hours on it and actually called today to have Boyd co.e and get it and service it before the spring. They said they would be right out to pick it up and take care of it. Thanks guys and gals for you extremely speedy service and professionalism

I went there today with intentions of buying a Stihl chainsaw. The associate was waiting on a customer and I looked at the chainsaws for over 10 minutes standing there. No one in the store even acknowledged my presence which I thought was not only rude but odd. I like to give Mom and Pop businesses my business but I guess they could care less about my business. I finally got disgusted and drove to Lowe's to buy a saw. I won't be back.

Talk about your return policy before leaving with product and don't pay cash! I was told about 30 days if anything was unsatisfactory to bring it back. The next day, the self propel was weakening on a $600 mower, and they wouldn't give a refund. The mower ran 20 minutes. I asked for his supervisor, he said he doesn't have have one and said he doesnt know who hired him. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Lark, the manager, has no respect for the business or customers. I'd like to find out who the owners are!

Put 4 new tires on my wife's car. Good job. Nice people. Not the cheapest around but worth the experience. Prompt, friendly, service. Open till 1pm on Saturday!

Got incorrect blade, and had to go back and exchage. Too busy to replace for me. Other store more accommodating.*Thank you for your response, glad you're busy, and hope you have time to service those who take the time to buy from your store. Raised review one star for responding to review.

I starting dealing with John about 2 years ago and it has been an absolute pleasure doing business with him. I explain to him what I need and he steers me in the right direction everytime without hurry. I never feel pressured but always leave with more knowledge than I came in with not to mention the fact that I get what I need as far as yard tools for a very reasonable and fair price.

The customer service was great and they really know what they are talking about. They have everything from lawn mowers, washing machines, to of course tires. You could go to one of those mega stores, but the service is crap there and almost impossible to find someone to talk to. Not a Boyd's! They only tell you what you need and they can fix anything they sell. Make sure you ask for Brown when you walk in the store.

Extremely disappointed. I took my chainsaw in to have sprocket replaced and it was done without problem but when I used it came apart. Took back to store and they had for 3 weeks and claimed couldn't get part. I finally just picked it up still in pieces and ordered the part myself, which i just so happened to find in stock and shipped in one day. I wish i wouldnt have wasted my time and money with this company.

This place is HORRIBLE! they sold me 2 tires and they dry rotted from being so OLD!! When i rook the tire back WITHIN their 30 day warranty they REFUSED to exchange my tire! Not to mention there were 5 men there that were supposed to be working took 15minutes just to ask what I needed! DON'T COME HERE ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
